Staff experience: Today, I was going to be in the Central Islip area so I placed an online order for pickup. They had customer appreciation discounts online as well! Our appointment (the reason for being in the area) got cancelled by the time we reached CI so my order that I just placed wouldn't be ready at all, woops! Well, I went to the store and explained the situation, and a cashier gladly jumped to my order and scanned the items in. Amazing service! Our dog and cats only eat their Redford Food Brand, absolutely love it. They have a wide range of flavors for them both and the prices aren't too bad. Plus, they have a small bakery, vet days, and fun events. Tip: sign up for an account with them and track it. You earn points for store certificates and product rewards. Ordered a small item online for curbside service. When the order was ready, I received an email. I also got a phone call, informing me that the item was out of stock but they offered an alternative to substitute it with, which was the same/comparable. They wanted to make sure I was ok with it (which I was) Called when I got there, and they brought it right out to me, didn't even leave the car. No wait. The young gentleman was so nice and friendly. I've never been here and I've definitely never been here to give my dog a bath. That's the only reason why I came. It's still too cold outside to use the hose. It's so conveniently close to my house. I had no idea a self dog wash was around. So I get there and you pay first. It's $14, and with that they give you 3 towels. We walked to the back and of course Titan crapped all over their floor, but there was no bags or garbage around. Cheap-o me had to use my own bag and walk back to the front and hand it to the cashier to throw away. They need to take that into consideration. There was 3 stations to wash your dog. My dog is pretty big so he obviously had to use one of the 2 bigger ones. The middle station is for a small dog that sits up higher so you don't break you back leaning over. They provide 3 different types of shampoo and conditioner as well! They do have weird leashes for your dog to strap to, and I was afraid that my Cane Corso would break it because he's EXTREMELY strong and had broken plenty of leashes. But thankfully he didn't see a doggy girl he liked or else it would have broken off the wall. They, of course, provide aprons, I recommend wearing rain boots because you will not leave dry. They also provide a blow dryer, but it was so cold! I don't think I left it on long enough to warm up though. The towel was good enough. Highly recommend! I even came on a Sunday afternoon and nobody was waiting. Titan and I left happy, and we both got a shower. read more

Have always used Chewy for mail order deliveries and visited Pet Supplies Plus when I was in the area... Saw an ad with great prices and decided to give them a try using their delivery service since I had no time to drive there... Not only did I save a 30% off with a coupon, but the delivery came early the following day, packaged beautifully...They even include a Thank You note... The next time I ordered, It was late in the afternoon and I was not expecting delivery till the following day, but lo and behold, It arrived that evening... I have shopped in the store, received deliveries and I have my dog food on auto ship. Every area Pet Supplies Plus is fantastic. There staff is very knowledgeable and always willing to help. This location only opened last month so it's hard to review, but I will make some first impression notes & update in the future if necessary. First, it's great they finally opened up a pet store in the area! And I'm a fan of Pet Supplies Plus. The other locations I know all work with local shelters which is fantastic. The day we went, they were doing some cool stuff for their grand opening. The manager (who was very friendly) gave us a coupon for a free 4-7lbs of dog or cat food, any brand. The coupon was only good for that day, but it I thought that was a very nice gesture. There were coupons in the circular as well, then we got a scratch off ticket (another $5 to be used by this month) & tokens to vote for a shelter to receive $1,000. There was also a volunteer from a rescue set up outside with some cats for adoption. I love when the stores support the local community. The store was very clean and well stocked, lots of variety in food brands and grooming items. They had a few small animals for sale & fish, but not a ton - which is fine to me, I hate seeing them in cages. There is also a self-serve washing area for pets which is very convenient. I've personally never seen that before in any pet store I've been to. Definitely look forward to going back to this location! They left a great first impression on me. read more

Since Jackie and her team has replaced the other manager, we have had better service. Jackie, Ayani, Yvonne and the rest of the team are amazing. We have (8) cats and we place large orders for their food. I love the fact that I send an email and within (1-2) hours they get back to me with what they have for me to pickup. I come from Hicksville to Central Islip because of this amazing service. Whatever they don't have they order immediately and I get it within the next week or two. So happy they opened up a pet store 5 minutes from my house. My go to pet store was Petco in Bayshore, which is out of the way for me. The cashier was so friendly. She came up to us and asked us if we needed help. She went out her way to tell us there was a sale on the Frontline products if we opened up a rewards card. She went up the register to double check and made sure she knew exactly how much it would come to. She really made sure we got the best deal possible. Great customer service. My sister came to visit me from Mexico for a few weeks so I brought her with me to get my dog some dog food the other day like I been doing the last few years .I was very disappointed there was a bad odor in the store. Animals looked not taken care of . Fish tanks smelly no water there was no safety signs just a yellow tape that her daughter almost tripped over because it was just hanging there . And the place looked very neglected and very poor service on customer safety . I will report this also to the department of heath that the bathrooms where disgusting. As I asked the young gentleman where I could find cbd oil he acted like I'm not even there was to busy talking to a young lady at the register. As we looked for it we noticed there was dog vomit on the floor and pee on most of the baskets disgusting if I may say . I took a fish treat of the top shelve and got greeted with nothing but dust and dog hair of course I did not purchase Then I asked if we can speak to a manager I was told they will be right back they stepped out to Dolla tree . I was waiting almost 10 minutes no one came back.Since a few weeks now this store has been very disappointing and dirty they never have what I'm looking for. Staff is not knowledgeable enough and rude . After 4 years of shopping here with friends and family we will not continue coming here I will rather drive the extra mile to petco. I ordered a bag of Taste of the Wild for my dog as a pick up order. The site was user friendly and easy to navigate. I parked in the spot marked for pick up orders at the store and called the number to notify the store I had arrived. The phone was answered promptly by a friendly voice and let me know they would be right out. True to their word a friendly young lady came to my car with her mask on and delivered the bag of food. I especially love David, because he helps me with my beardie that I bought there a year ago. I needed to buy my 5 month old puppy some food and decided to stop at this store before I went to the Petco in Bay Shore. The night before I was at Target and it looked to me that they were open so I decided to take a chance. I'm glad I stopped in, upon entering the store we were greeted by the manager Jim. He was very welcoming, he gave us a tour of the store, showed us where everything was, even gave us some tips on what to look for when buying puppy food. Jim has been in the business for over 10 years, this put me at ease and because I am a new dog owner, so I can appreciate any help I can get. He continued on talking with us for about another 15 minutes about his dogs, his experience working with pet supplies plus, and how he himself is an Islip resident. This was great to hear because it's always good to have someone who lives in the community be a part of the businesses that operate in our communities. Another really cool thing about this store was the self-serve dog wash stations! Yes self-serve! You can bring your dog and wash them yourself!! They provide the soap, shampoos, towels, water, even the a blow dryer! No more mess at home! I took my dog back the same day to wash him and take advantage of the self serve wash program. If you have any type of pet at home I highly suggest you take the ride to pet supplies plus, Jim and his team are super friendly, very knowledgeable, and love when you bring your pet into the store. When we brought Doofy in everyone stopped what they were doing and came over to stay hello, it was awesome!!!
