We brought our dog in with us to check out the wares. The lady working in the store was super friendly, and gave a treat to our dog when we were checking out. We didn't take the time to walk through the whole store but I saw that they had lots of treats (some fancy looking ones, too). Hollywood Feed offers curbside pickup, a loyalty program, and delivery, and we learned that they would even deliver to us in Wisconsin.

One time i was in there and i wanted a product and they were out of the size i needed so i went to the register and asked if i could get something ordered they they place their orders........ they woman said yes... so i asked how long before they place the next one... she responded with " we only order from this company once a year and I'm not sure when we will be again!!!" and I'm just thinking to myself...Well I'm not going to wait a year for something! That's not very helpful! This same visit i was checking out and they were training a new girl... she was going really slow and trying to do everything right (i didn't mind) and they other employees were making rude comments to each other under their breath and making fun of her! HOW RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL! And of all thing infront of a customer! Im all about supporting local business BUT when i recieve customer service like this i will NEVER go back! i would rather be treated with respect and pay more than be treated like this! i feel bad for any employee that works there and deals with those girls!

It's not so surprising with CVS, but I was really surprised that places like Petsmart overcharge as well. When I first went to Val's, it was like a breath of fresh air. (LIterally, figuratively.) I needed cat litter, and Val's had a great selection of that and just about everything else I could ever think of wanting. For a big bag I ended up paying about $15, where for a bag HALF the size of the one I got at Val's I was paying about the same at other places. That's a REALLY big difference. What will make me come back to Val's is the sales. They plaster the inside and outside of their business with posters of their sales, sales on things that no one else does. Science Diet for a buck a can? Big bags of kitten chow for $12? I"m so there! If you have a cat or dog and you're sick of paying stupid prices for the simple things they need, then check out Val's. I'll never go to another store again!

We brought a range of experiences with us to Detroit: walkers, play groups, groomers, and vets. So, we had our needs and wishes, experiences good and bad, and we know the real deal when we see it. It took us a few false starts with other places for play, stay/boarding and even grooming to find our way to Puppy Love. It's likely the best referral of my life. Leslie, Stacey and the team there are deeply devoted dog lovers with a core base of knowledge, experience, intuition and expertise that they bring to bear. They have established a large, well equipped, cozy, warm, soothing place -- and focus continually on dogs' interactions, play and socialization, while providing options (both stay, play and sleepover) for dogs of all personality types and ages, those who like to be alone, with humans or with the pack. Later, we introduced our new and second dog Cookie to the mix. She also thrived there. Even more later, we worked with Leslie to re-home a third dog, our little Rosalita, who we essentially adopted. Yes, we have three dogs, and we consider Puppy Love family, as they do us. Cookie and Rosalita play there M, W and Friday and all three dogs groom with Puppy Love. We do long-term boarding often. We've introduced probably 6 friends and their dogs to Puppy Love -- 99% have had a great experience. You may hear periodically of folks where it has not been a fit. Something, Leslie is always happy to address through a mutual exchange of feedback. She and her team know all too well what the other options available in the area are like. Puppy Love is a wonderful combination of romping, safe play space, cozy quarters, naturally lit, staffed by people who love, know and understand dogs -- always ready to help and incorporate feedback. We expect to work with them for as long as we have fur babies in our family. Which, well, will be forever.

I simply asked for clarification on my bill after being charged nearly $200 for what was supposed to be a bath and small trim. Instead of explaining the charges, the owner immediately became hostile and defensive. If you look through the reviews, you'll notice a pattern of similar complaints -- yet many of the one-star reviews seem to mysteriously disappear. Completely unacceptable behavior from a business owner. I will never return.

I love this store because of its wide variety of animals it caters towards. Birds, Guinea pigs,…read moregerbils, hamsters, various reptiles and amphibians, and aquatic species as well. Most employees are well rehearsed on animal needs or at least the ones that they own themselves. I signed up for the pet club to earn points and get discounts since I have 2 fish tanks and 14 female Guinea pigs! They were super helpful and the owner was extremely friendly when giving us information. They went above and beyond when trying to find the best deal for a 60 gallon tank. Even helped load the heavy oak stand into the truck after hours. Helped with tank stocking so it would be a very peaceful community with lots of live plants which are low maintenance. Wonderful selection of Guinea pig toys, mine can't get enough of them! My ONLY complaint with this store is the sale of live animals. They have wayyyy too many Guinea pigs in the cages and too many rabbits in small wire-bottom cages. They do however have plenty of food, water, ect but no room to run & high chances of disease spreading. Rabbits and Guinea pigs run a high chance of spreading diseases which are deadly to Guinea pigs. The acrylic tanks/cages allows for too much ammonia build up which can cause URIs. For an unsuspecting new pet parent, they would shrug off as sneezing. Antibiotics are fairly cheap but has to be bought from a vet after diagnosis which many parents wouldn't do for a "childs pet". There are soooo many Guinea pigs in shelters and rescues in need of new homes and wish that they'd try rehoming before mass breeding at the store. Also, don't buy hamster, Guinea pig, or small animal cages here! None are large enough or for hamsters offer deep enough trays to fulfill the minimum requirement of 6-8in of bedding. For Guinea pigs, Midwest, C&C, or homemade is the way to go. Hamsters have more suitable options both store bought and homemade, just do some research!
