YIKES!!! The prices now that they have switched to being Pet Supplies Plus are ridiculous!!! We have stopped going here because of the prices. Worth the drive to Elk Grove Pet Club or the Pocket to Incredible Pets. Our dry dog food here is now $53.99... same exact food and lb's is regularly $38.99 at Pet Club and Incredible Pets. Pet club also has it often on sale for $35.99... The canned dog food we get is $2.88 here and $2.18 at Pet Club and $2.49 at Incredible Pets. Cat food here is $32.99 on sale for an 8lb bag which is the regular price at Pet Club for a 15lb bag. read more

So giving this location and especially the staff one star is generous. I tried the dog wash here for the first time.. I had three dogs in total.. Washed the first dog because I waited in the store for half an hour.. Then waited in the parking lot for over an hour with my family on the only day I have free time from work. We scheduled appointments for all three back to back and they never called us. Even though they told me like three times that they would call. They even told us that they would keep it dirty so I wouldn't have to wait for the second and third dog which was a lie.. They gave our spot to random "walk ins" after we waisted a total of an hour and a half at the location. I would DEFINITELY avoid this place if you're trying to get your pup washed. Most incompetent staff I have ever dealt with. They had no response when I brought all of this up to them.. As far as buying products for your pets.. this place is way over priced with half the inventory that Pets Mart carries.. This store is Just across the street" near Sprouts. We feed our dogs Natural Balance dog food and only certain stores carry it so we have limited options. Lucky for us, this is one of the brands that Discount Pet carries. I will usually buy food here because it's about $7 cheaper that Petco and the location is conveniently on my way home from work. The staff here is very knowledgeable and friendly and they always help me out to my car, which I appreciate very much. The girl who helped me (should've got her name) helped me with any questions I may had. They were friendly with my chase. It was worth driving 20 min to get him his wash which he desperately needed it. They even gave him a treat. I'll be back to purchase more dog washes. I wish the Stockton stores had it. read more

This is the most friendly and helpful pet store in the area. It's big enough to offer what I need and small enough to be able to find it quickly. When our dog had surgery and we needed a ramp for our car quickly, I called all 3 pet stores in Lodi to see what my options were. Pet Supplies Plus was the only one to have a ramp at all! They also had both the types of neck cones we wanted to try. I've never been there more than 5 minutes without someone offering politely to help me find something, and a bonus - they really can help you. They will walk you to the items and tell you about them! I continue to shop here simply because they have the best selection of dog food anywhere. And always have what I need, in stock. They're also open until 8pm and 6pm on Sundays. Good for me since I'm one of those people who like to run errands at the end of the day, instead of during my day. They stock pet toys, bedding, treats, and every type of pet supply you and your pet could possibly want. They also offer training along with vaccination clinics. Discount Pets is probably the best pet supply store in Lodi. I've been coming here for years, since my parents came for dog food. They have great deals for most of the necessities ($7 for a HUGE bag of clumping cat litter? That's cheaper than Wal-Mart!) and are very reasonable in price for extras like toys, grooming supplies, and so on. Additionally, they've always been helpful when it comes to over-the-counter medication or prevention. Their staff is helpful and knowledgeable, and they also offer vaccinations for pets cheaply. (Though, of course, if your pet is having a health issue, always go to the vet if you are in doubt!) The times I've purchased pets here -- a pair of budgies and several rabbits -- the animals have always been healthy and well cared for, and they've always given excellent advice on what would be needed to properly care for them. All in all, I'd recommend this store to anyone looking for a good pet supply place. read more

Their prices can be actually higher on some products than the bigger chains of pet stores. They have a nice variety of different things however we used to buy our snake food there and they don't carry mice for food anymore and their reason? They kept having mice come back dead and sick. So I could have been feeding my snake sick food this whole time!! Some of the workers are snobby teenagers and very very rude and some are nice and helpful! It seems to be a hit and miss. I don't go there anymore since they stopped carrying baby mice, the dog food I feed my dog can be found cheaper else where, same with my cat food and cat litter.
