I took my dog to Pet Supplies Plus for grooming, and afterward she began limping and would not put weight on one of her paws. When I took her to the vet, I was informed that two ingrown toenails had been removed during her grooming appointment. My biggest concern is that no one told me this happened. If a procedure was performed or there was an issue with my dog's nails, I should have been informed when I picked her up. Instead, I was left wondering why my dog was suddenly limping and in pain. I understand that accidents and unexpected situations can happen, but communication with pet owners is extremely important. Had I been told about the ingrown toenails and their removal, I would have known what to expect and how to properly care for my dog afterward. I'm disappointed by the lack of communication and hope management addresses this issue so other pet owners are fully informed about anything that occurs during their pet's grooming appointment. read more

I debated writing this because I actually liked the groomer and my puppy's haircut came out nice. But the overall experience was extremely stressful and poorly handled. I brought my puppy in for a routine groom with JAZMIN and was told he had a mat on his arm. I completely understand that mats happen--that wasn't the issue. The issue was how it was communicated and handled. Before I left, she checked his entire body in front of me and confirmed that was the only mat. Despite that, she began telling me that his entire body might need to be shaved down and that he could possibly be showing skin. As a dog owner, that's very alarming--especially when it doesn't match what was actually found. When I tried to ask questions and figure out a reasonable solution, instead of guiding me, her response multiple times was: "Do you want to just take him?" She repeated this several times--even after I had scheduled my day around this appointment and was clearly trying to move forward. Even when I came back to adjust the plan (just bathe him, hygiene cut, etc.), I was met again with: "Do you want to take him?" There was no reassurance, no clear plan, and no offer to simply proceed and call me if anything else was found--which would have resolved everything. Instead, I spent hours going back and forth, stressed and unsure if I was going to pick my dog up shaved down to the skin over one small mat. The final result? Exactly what I initially expected--only that small area was trimmed and the rest of his coat was perfectly fine. That confirms this situation was unnecessarily escalated from the start. I don't have an issue with the grooming result. But the communication, tone, and overall handling of the situation were disappointing and avoidable. When I spoke with a manager, I was told the groomer may have been "having a bad day." Respectfully, that shouldn't affect how customers are treated--especially when it involves their pets. Because of this experience, I won't be returning. I just can't go through that level of stress again over something so minor. read more

I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for this place because it's where we got our kitten. On the left side of the store, there is a Houston Humane Society cat adoption area. While we were not in the market for a cat when coming in to check out this place, we fell in LOVE with one of the kittens up for adoption. We had to file the paperwork through the Humane Society, so we couldn't leave with her that day but nonetheless, we got our little fur baby here. As for the store itself, I personally feel the prices are higher than elsewhere. The main thing I've gotten here was cat litter (which typically runs a few bucks higher than other stores.) I have only made these purchases when I've received 20-25% off coupons in the mail which brought the price down below competitors. There is a clearance rack near the cat adoptions. Here I've found cat treats for up to 75% off (depending on the expiration, sooner they expire, the less $ they'll be). Staff are usually pretty helpful and always friendly. Some of the guys offer to carry the 25-40lbs cat litter containers out to my vehicle for me which is super sweet of them. Lastly, while researching for this post, I wanted to look up the exact cost of the cat litter from their website... only their website is not very good. A simple search for cat litter came up with "no results found." Then I looked through the cats-supplies-litter and waste management tabs and again, "no results found." Very odd. So I don't have any actual price data to include. Their website needs a lot of work. read more

I have been coming to this place for well over 6 months to purchase fish. Some of the fish would die b4 their 14 day policy which says to bring it back if it dies, well I did just that, also bought the water in to be tested to make sure my water was ok. Well I go in tomorrow to purchase more fish n ole girl at the register comes to the back and tells me, that I CAN NO LONGER PURCHASE FISH If I could give ZERO STARS I would!!!!! read more

The only reason why I'm giving four stars instead of five is because I am not able to login to the website now getting a 403 Forbidden code. I'm able to login to all other websites that I access. Where to start. Walk in with my large Malamute for a self wash. Had to wait a few minutes to get the girls attention. She walked over to another register so I assumed she was grabbing something. No, she just stood there. I say, do you want me at that register?? She says yes. Great communication and customer service so far but whatever. I pay my $14, ask if I can get her nails clipped, she said sure, just go to them when you're done and I'm taken to the large dog wash station. The lead is about 2 foot long so I'm already concerned. She hooks my dog up and leaves. My dog is choking and can't turn around when I'm washing her so I need to unclip her and physically turn her around, re-clip her and continue. Whatever, now it's time to blow dry. What a joke! My crappy blow dryer at home has more blowing power, meanwhile the groomer is using her jet engine hose to blow dry. Again, whatever, I decide it's not worth the time and go to the groomer to get her nails trimmed. Sorry, no can do. I'm alone and you'll have to wait. At this point I'm done! It cost me $14 to use their sink, choke my dog out, leave with her wet and no nail trim. Thanks but next time I'll just do it at home. Not worth the trip, my time, the cost, or the anxiety to my dog. They gave me a hard time about returning stale and moldy cat food that they sold me, but did process the return. They did not return or exchange pill pockets, one still new bag , one opened bag. I've been told they accept returns if my pets don't like something, which is standard at all pet stores. And then they could not find the receipt. I always opt for an emailed receipt so the sales associate who originally sold me the product likely typed in the wrong phone number. I should have checked , but again , I could have gotten a return or exchange from any other store. And from my purchase history, I've spent a lot of money there, why would I lie about buying 2 small bags of pill pockets. A little quibble, and should have been a warning that this place is lacking but on a prior visit:, I bought a lot of small cans of cat food (and had my dog with me) and the sales associate asked if I would like a bag And then "could not" fit a bottle of cleaner in one of the bags and forgot to give me the bottle and when I reminded him, he just said he could not fit it in the bag and just stood there instead of handing it to me or putting it in another bag. Clean, not stinky, large selection of truly freeze dried and raw foods, and friendly, helpful staff....what's not to love? I also like that it's not overly crowded. I am happy to find this gem. Kris did a fantastic job grooming my puppy, Malik. Due to my ongoing chemotherapy treatments, Malik was behind on his grooming schedule. Clean store, friendly staff - we used the self dog wash station which is a great and very affordable, especially if you purchase multiple baths ahead of time. I do wish they had some cotton swabs available for ear cleaning, but not a big deal. Prices are pretty reasonable as well, especially compared to Petsmart. read more

Bella, my dog, and I want to give a SHOUT OUT to Ms. Ana, her groomer. When the store first opened, I was thrilled to have one so close to my house that had everything I needed to take of my many animal needs - Bella and my 3 cats Lucky, Lucy and Poe Joe plus my stray and feral cats. It was also important for me to find a groomer I could trust and feel comfortable leaving Bella (she's an old gal with arthritis). First, Ana always has a smile on her face and you can tell she loves her job. For such a young lady she is very mature and professional. She listens to what is asked and takes her time performing her skills.
