Everyone we met was super nice and cared about finding the perfect family for the puppy, without being off putting. We brought our reactive 5 yr old dog for a meet and greet. First we had them on opposite sides of the fence on leash. Once that went well, we moved our dog inside the fence, still of leash. Once that went well, we took a short walk together. After that, we went back to an exam room(they are a vet too) and got them both drinks. We filled out the final paperwork and took him home. What set them apart were the things they gave us to make the transition easier for the puppy- dog bed from his foster and crate, balance of his bag of food so we can transition, toys, and starter doses of flea/tic/heartworm meds. I found a cat I liked and asked about him. I was told he needed to see vet first. I thought ok, then asked when he will be available. In a few days was the best I could get out if her. I then asked to adopt him now and pay all necessary fees etc. and I would pick him up when ready. I was told no. First come first served she replied in an imperious manner. I said I am first why can't I arrange adoption now. I could tell she just wanted to get rid of me and just said "NO!!!" And dismissed me. I asked.if I could be called or emailed when he is available. Again a big fat NO. Just look on our site. Firstly, why can't a pet be adopted prior to vet procedure, if the applicant is willing to wait and pay all fees ahead if time? Secondly, they need to find a more courteous person to deal with the public. These animals are not her personal property and she is not god.

When I've checked their website and facebook page I've seen Irish Wolfhounds and French Bulldogs. Those are expensive dogs! You also can't beat the price. If I remember correctly, you paid $30 then when you sent in proof that your dog was fixed, you for $25 back in the mail. Can't beat that! I love when people get their pets from shelters and it beats buying your dog from a breeder 100% of the time! Don't forget to drop off your old blankets and towels and bring in your extra dog and cat food. They can always use it!!!

Manager was helpful and friendly with getting the puppy ready. The Aussiepoo puppy was with a couple of larger pups that were dominating the other 4 in the pen. The rough play was continued with our introduction to him. He pulled on sweaters gloves coats and pants. I believe this rough house play is a result of the too many puppies in a pen and they number of visitors each puppy receives. My concerns of this puppy adoption were unlearning his bad pulling habits. After playtime with the 'purebred' dog, the asking adoption fee was $3200. Double the price what I expected, but not disclosed until after meeting your dog. The attendant must be used to this response and moved onto another customer. Initially business idea appeared good but execution was off. Felt like a puppy mill customer after the visit.

I'm not writing a bad review because I don't believe in the cause of providing good homes for…read moreanimals that need them. I'm writing it out of a great feeling of resentment because I believe that I was fed bold-faced lies by the staff in order to push me toward an adoption. The sign on the window said that the cat I was considering was a five year old male. On the Saturday before our adoption, we asked a staff member of the cat's medical history. We were told that the cat had been very timid and was losing some weight, and that it had a distended stomach possibly from worms. That wasn't anything we couldn't handle so we decided to adopt. We wanted a 5 year old male because we had a cat and the two would complement each other well. When we sat down to sign the papers, though, that's when the truth started to come out. At least partial truths. Apparently, the cat had no teeth. We asked why, and they had no answers. It also had a heart murmur. I know the former staff member INTENTIONALLY left this out, because the distended stomach was there with this information. She just straight up left it out! We still went through with the paperwork, and at the end, they informed us that the cat was actually 7 years old. All of these things collectively should have told me to cut and run, but in the end the cat needed a good home, so we followed through with the adoption. A few days later, we took the cat to a vet. The vet informed us that actually the cat was more like 10 years old.... oh, and it was also a girl! So we went from a 5 year old male, to a seven year old male, to a ten year old female. CAHS either has no idea what they're doing, or they are purposely handing out false information in order to get pets adopted, which I'm certain is illegal. I likely won't pursue legal action because I'm sure no one will care, and I obviously will love and care for the pet that I've adopted. But folks should be aware of what's going on here, and be prepared for some deceit. CAHS should face some accountability.

Their application process was simple, though with really great questions to do their best to make successful matches. The pup we adopted stayed there a little longer due to her medication needs and our older dogs at home. We were able to go visit her for a few hours on a day before we were able to bring her home later that week. The staff were wonderful during our 'meet and greet' and definitely loved meeting our older pups! We went through great information about vet care, spay/neuter and more and they provide awesome supports for bringing home a young pup - even sending us out with puppy food. Wonderful experience!

The problem is that, after getting her home we discovered she was still infested with tape worms. We had to get her to a vet a.s.a.p and have her de wormed .. again .. apparently. This animal should have never been put up for adoption in her condition. We paid quite a bit of money for a kitten we thought was thoroughly treated. It cost me even more money .. this facility was going to issue a partial refund for the unnecessary expense and aggravation, but NEVER followed through on it.
