I go to several different pet stores and this is one of my favorites. I have no problems. Highly recommended.

Love this place for how much dog stuff it has. I tried all the hats they had on my dog since he has big ears and needed one for walking outside. Wide selection of dog toys, dog food , treats, bowls, clothing and collars and leashes. Their prices are affordable and they follow all covid protocols! read more

I was out shopping and needed some food and a new scratching pad for my little buddy so I decide to check this store out because I wanted a certain food and better than grocery store scratch pad, I didn't like what I was finding in other stores. I don't like the cardboard scratch pads that have taken over because I feel the longevity might not be good and the mess it could make on the floor. The store it self had an empty parking lot for a Sunday afternoon which I thought was strange but I went in to find a mostly empty store where the employees out numbered the customers. The store is nothing like the West Allis location because it's small with noticeable less live pets and a smaller foort print but I found what I needed. The food brand selection for my brand yield only two options in the big bag and not what I wanted but something I wanted try so I'm not complaining yet but if I did want the what I'm using it's not here. I can't find a rope scratch pad and only the cardboard versions and one with carpet, I went with the carpet version. I felt that the food selection was smaller than than the other two big chains with one just down the road so I probably will not back because of the limited selection, I want the 15 pound bag of food because I'm keeping my buddy and I don't want to buy small bags and make several more trips than I need to. read more

With the ever-changing big box stores, and closing of my local pet store I decided to check this place out. It had a great variety of products for any pet I could think of including ferrets, rabbits, lots of birds and even snakes oh my! But this trip was all about the dogs and natural treats. My go to retailer has been out of treats for quite some time with the pandemic but this place had plenty of natural treats in stock. Prices are a little high but I guess so is demand right now and we're all willing to pay for our fur babies. Didn't get to engage with the staff until check out but that's OK I was on a mission to bring home the bacon. read more

Went in to find a small animal for a thirty gallon glass aquarium. Was sold a female Jackson's chameleon. Staff completely misinformed me about what was needed, despite asking the relevant questions. The tank we had was absolutely not suitable but I was reassured that it was fine, even after the manager was involved. The employee was authorized to continue encouraging me and even heavily discounted the animal. After picking her up, we directly took her to the vet where we were informed that she was underweight, dehydrated and had both mouth rot and a respiratory infection. Thankfully I am in a position to have taken her to the vet, paid for the meds, bought a new enclosure and got her on the path to good health, despite this experience. Audrey has a good home now but I would warn others away from both purchasing animals here and on trusting that the staff is informed or properly caring for the animals. read more

We've shopped at pet world for quite a few years for our Yorkies. They had a great selection. However, their customer service and attitude is not appropriate. We purchase 4 pound bags of Canidae and are using their receipts for a buy 10 get 1 free. This last time they were out and only had a 12 pound bag. I mentioned that although there is a slight price advantage, the purchase should count for more than one bag. The staff could not help me. The manager at the time could not help me. I finally just called Mike the owner and he basically said there was nothing he could do. He finally said " If you are dissatisfied with Pet World, shop somewhere else " and hung up on me. Having been in retail, there is always something that can be done. Always. Although I agree this is a minor point, it points to a bad attitude toward customers. I guess they don't want customers if they have a problem however minor. It is sad to see such poor customer service. read more

Worst pet store ever. Never has bugs in stock. Can never find an associate to help so you're waiting forever to get bugs or feeder rats. Always have 50 count bugs and not 100 in stock so they can charge you more and won't discount you for their lack of having the right ones in stock. Horrible customer service. read more

I like this location-mostly clean, good selection of animals, and staff have always been helpful and knowledgeable. I mostly go to see the cats as I cannot adopt one right now but enjoy visiting them. This location has not had the kittens in the last 4 months Ive visited. I did see a lionhead bunny today that absolutely stole my heart! read more

If I could give zero stars, I think I would. I spent just a few minutes here for a few reasons: 1. None of the aisles are labeled with what is located within them. It wasn't easy finding what I wanted. Seriously, put signs on the end cap. 2. Prices. I had never been here before, but assumed it would be similar to Pet Supplies Plus. Wrong! I was looking for some bulk biscuits and pigs ears for my hounds. The pigs ears were twice the price of other stores, while also being smaller and the bulk biscuits all looked pricey. I didn't spend a lot of time with them because they didn't have anything close to what I usually get my dogs. 3. No help! I had no idea where anything was and was standing around looking lost, but a couple of sales associates just walked right by me. Moral of the story is I'll never walk in here again. Maybe that's nitpicky, but I with a confusing layout, higher prices and unfriendly staff, I'm not sure what there is to recommend the place. read more

Terrible customer service. I needed a mite spray for parakeets (which were recently purchased from this store). The manager took me to the section and gave me the bottle, which was clearly labeled at $2.49. It rang up for $5.50 and I took a photo of the price and brought it to the cashier, who went and got her manager. The manager said it was a stocking clerk error and wouldn't honor the posted price despite this being the only spray of its kind and the exact size and brand. I pointed to their sign stating their price discrepancy policy and she said it was a clerk mistake and wouldn't honor the posted price. I told her it was still her responsibility to follow their own policy. She refused to own up to this. This issue is more than money, it is PRINCIPLE. This store has lost my business for good. read more

I went looking for a new parrot after my bird of 15 years died suddenly. I wasn't sure what kind of parrot I wanted this time and this was the only place I could go and see a few different species in person and handle them. A parrot is NOT an impulse purchase. The owner was there cleaning cages the day I was there and she was so mean and nasty and refused to get any birds out of the cage for me, or to even talk to me about their personalities, or anything. Very rude. She asked me after 5 minutes if I wanted to buy this one or that and when I said I was just looking today, researching what bird I wanted and taking time to get to know them a little, she immediately shut down on me. She wanted me to walk in, see a cute or pretty bird and just take it home on the spot. Very irresponsible. THIS is how so mnay birds and other pets find themselves homeless, or getting rehomed a bunch of times. I have not set foot in this store since. If I buy a bird from Pet World, I would NOT buy one from this store. Besides this, the owner was unprofessionally dressed and crass and the employees all seemed scared of her. They also have very limited merchandise on the shelves. read more

PHOTO I.D. REQUIRED TO EXCHANGE A BOX OF CAT LITTER WITH RECEIPT! Last week at 11:15AM I paid cash for over $100.00 worth of supplies for our two cats. I bought two 25lb boxes of cat litter, but realized when I got home I'd gotten the wrong kind. I returned about 45 minutes later and asked to exchange them for the correct brand. The same cashier, Erica said she would have to see identification before allowing any exchanges. I explained that I do not give out my personal information (My identity's been stolen in the past.) She refused and so did her manager so I put the exchanges back on the shelf and got my original two boxes and left. I'm not blaming your cashier. She was just following instructions and did not seem very interested in being there anyway. However, If you are going to call someone a manager then it might be a good idea to give them some authority to use their own common sense in situations like this instead of standing there and losing a customer. I do not want anything other than that your company learns how to treat customers., no refunds or gift certificates. I will be posting this experience elsewhere. Good customer service, have a good variety of food. I prefer grain free and they have a moderately good selection of that type of food as well. Never had a problem. Fish department could be better attended to. read more

I will never buy a pet from here again. I bought my pet rat from here about four months ago, and ever since I brought her home, shes been sneezing and itching herself. I've tried everything to help. The sales lady was very helpful when I purchased her, and she was very knowledable about rats especially. I came back about two months later and asked her what I could do about her sneezing and itching and the advice she gave me didn't help at all. I feel the animal they sold to me was sickly and they shouldn't have sold her to me. Although I love my rat, I will NEVER buy a pet from here again. read more

We purchased two pet rats at Pet World Warehouse over a year ago. They were sick from the day we bought them. The rats in the store are kept in glass tanks. This causes respiratory infections that can kill, because of the ammonia in their urine. Rats need to be housed in wire cages for proper ventilation. Also, the rats were over-crowded in a single tank when we purchased ours. The last time we were there, they were kept one per tank. This is also unhealthy for them. They don't even follow the advice that their employees, and the books the store sells, give on important aspects of care for animals. I plan to buy pet food elsewhere from now on, and plan to stop in to see if they clean up their act. read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I had an issue with the store not accepting their OWN coupon. I was told by the manager that they could not accept the coupon as the item was on "sale" & they would lose money by honoring their own coupon. The manager was unable to assist me further and indicated that only the 3 owners could resolve my issue. I left messages for Mike on 12/31/2016, 1/3/2017, 1/10/2017, 1/13/2017 & 2/15/2017, with Diane on 1/18/2017 & 2/15/2017 and with Dan on 1/18/2017, NEVER receiving a single return call. I was in the area of the Menomonee Falls store on 2/16/2017 and stopped in to see if owner Diane was available. She was. When I mentioned my issue to her, she immediately became defensive & indicated she did not agree with me - that because the item was on sale, they could not accept their own coupon (just an FYI - the coupon indicates it's not valid with other "offers" & they consider a "sale" an "offer"). When I asked why she & others hadn't returned any of my calls, she told me that it was due to the fact that they did not agree with me, and then she walked away. I've never been treated so rudely by a store owner in my LIFETIME! Looks like I'll be looking for another place to do business! Wish I had read other reviews on this place before patronizing them, as I see I'm not the only one indicating poor customer service. I also wish I didn't have to give them even 1 star in this review, but must in order to get my rating and review out to the general public. read more
