    Pup Cup Frappe Toy

I get wary with pet store corporations and how they treat their animals so I rarely shop here. When I do, I have seen nothing but good things. I went in for their giant Halloween Pup Frappe Toy for big dogs. It was PERFECT! I bought it expecting my dog to rip it to shreds, which she did. But I was able to sew it together a couple times to make it last longer. She had such a blast ripping it together shreds every night. I thought it was fun carrying it around and even the cashier asked where I found it.

This Petco is very well stocked and organized! I dropped by to take a look at some of the animals inside the store and they had quite the variety! They had cats in the front of the store available for adoption, as well as reptiles, gerbils, fish, and birds! I found the store to have a really nice layout, and it was super easy to find everything with the signage that was in the store. The only thing that was a miss was that there didn't seem to be ay employees on the floor for customer assistance.

This is a pretty big store. Seems well maintained. Went to check out the aquarium plants though and most of the Tissue Culture plants were dead lol. I checked the live plants in the tank and they all look dirty with algae. No greeting or anyone asking if I needed help. Personally that doesn't bother me but I did notice. Parking is big but when I went on a later morning weekday it was pretty busy. Thats a good sign though the spots are a bit tight.

New groomer Stephanie did an outstanding treatment on our soon to be 4 year old maltipoo Echo: Grooming, Bath, Haircut and Nail Trimming He came out on time looking great with a smooth even neat cut. She is an extraordinaire dog stylist. I hope she stays and flourishes at this location as we have been to at least 3 other places/groomers in the valley. Stephanie is the best! The Betta fish are all dying and floating in cups full of waste. I was told they were "just cleaned." I'm sure. I was in in the morning and one of the fish was dead. Came back in the evening and they simply removed her and put another betta there and didn't clean anything. Filth. Fish are all sick. One of the cups even had 2 dead mosquitoes inside.

I have been shopping at this Petco for more than a year ago . They have everything I need for my two pitties. What stands out most to me is the amazing personalized customer service. Fernando, the manager, has gone out of his way more than once to help me find specific items if I can't find them. Once he even spent 10 minutes searching for my food in the back and even had a staff member help me out with the food. Thanks so much for the great service. I will be back.

I brought my dog in for grooming today. Parus was very rude when I brought her in. I should have trusted my intuition and walked out then & there. For whatever reason Parus decided to shave the dog all over. Not only that but she cut one of the dog's skin tags. And she trimmed the face unevenly and left the tail lopsided. When I called the manager tried to argue with me saying that the dog had extremely matted fur. She honestly looks like a different dog. Update: She was squinting so much with red eyes she had to be taken to the vet. The diagnosis was corneal ulcers, caused by either physical or chemical trauma.

I want the best for my puppies, so I asked so many different people where and how they trained their dogs. I received a few suggestions, but decided to do my own search...and I'm glad I did. Leo (Owner) and his amazing team of trainers TRULY care about the pups they train. Leo came to my home and wanted to meet me and my pups before I had to decide on making any decisions. After sitting down with him for about half an hour, I knew I found what I was looking for: Someone who wants me to have healthy and happy dogs. I signed up for the in-home training at first which is Leo coming to the house and training me on how to train my puppies (Archie and Charlie just turned 6 months and started with Leo and his team when they were 4.5). Very quickly, I realized I could not handle training both these puppies the way they needed to be trained. I discussed with Leo and decided to do a Board & Train. I like the schedule because I get to take the puppies on the weekends to spend time with me. Don't get me wrong, you NEED to train your pups on the weekends, but it's worth it and FUN. Archie has become the Puppy King (no offense to other puppies or their owners )). Charlie has a lot more energy, but has improved immensely! Leo's trainers are so caring. I feel my dogs get love with their training when they're not with me, and I couldn't ask for more. I see their excitement whenever I visit about improvements and milestones that Archie and Charlie achieved. They gleam with as much pride as I do. I honestly don't know where my pups OR I would be without the help of this AMAZING Team! If I could give 10 stars out of 5 stars, I would!

I could not get Stormy to walk on a leash, without choking herself. Because of this, she was under socialized. She was fearful of many things also. They ended up keeping her for 3 weeks. I had a couple "check in" one on one Training with her Trainer, Tiffany. At the first session, Stormy, was walking on leash in a "heel" position. Tiffany had also taught her "place", "stay" and "break" to release her from her "stay". Stormy was so much calmer when I brought her home. Before training, she would come in from the yard and jump over the back of the couch. If I was sitting on the couch, a few times, she landed on my head, on her way to the other side. She also jumped a lot. After coming home, she was calm inside and stopped jumping all over. It was a "joy" to take her on a walk and have her calmly maintain her "heel" position. She was much more enjoyable and was finally able to get out of"in the world"! This was entirely due to Tiffany's training. Tiffany was very good with her, very knowledgeable about dog behavior and cared for Stormy. She was professional, checked in with me to see how I was feeling about Stormy's behavior, gave helpful advice and answered any questions I had. In addition, I received daily photos of Stormy from Heather. That was awesome because I missed her and it was nice to get updates on Stormy's progress. Additionally, the Facility is very clean and everyone working there was very nice. Michael was very nice too. The groomer, Jacob, was nice and professional also. The Board and Train was expensive but after Tiffany gave me back a dog I could fully enjoy, I'd say it was worth it! Matan has a wonderful operation going there and I highly recommend them. My Veterinarian in Camarillo, gave me Matan's Card and said she'd gotten positive feedback on them. I also brought my "dog reactive", Dog, Bon Bon in for 3 week Board and Train. Tiffany, also trained her too! She did an amazing job with Bon Bon also. Bon Bon, was a challenging case for her because, of all things, she told me Bon Bon, could be a bit stubborn! LOL. Even though Bon Bon, was a completely different personality than Stormy, Bon Bon, was wonderful walking on leash when she returned. She's also not as reactive. I was even able to walk both of them together, which was a first and was also my original goal for training! My "pack walk"! Tiffany told me to wait to try to walk them together. There was no way I was getting out the door with just one! They both did remarkably well. At first Bon Bon wanted to walk ahead but I corrected her and she walked in a "heel" on my right side. I was finally able to get them both "heeling" on my left side, with Stormy closest to me. Yay! That's exactly what I wanted when I sent them both to "board and train". Finally, as a bonus, Bon Bon came home with "perfect weight"! It was all the extra work on Dog Pacer. Thank you to everyone at Matan Dog Training! You all made it a great experience for me!

You can find all the classes that they offer on their website along with a calendar that shows approximately a month and a half in advance so you can plan around it. I initially wanted to start out with City Dog classes but they were full so I signed Cheska up for the Nature Dog class first. Brent teaches each series and he's very upbeat and makes all the classes fun and packed with knowledge. When I took Nature Dog, I will be honest I was really nervous and didn't believe that Cheska could be trusted on a long line away from me. During the first class we used 15 foot lines to practice and 15 feet felt sooooo far away to me. I'm looking back now laughing because now I'm using 50 feet of line at the park. In Nature dog you learn how to keep your dog within your radius, allowing them to sniff and explore within that radius while perfecting your dog's recall in this class as well as being able to tell them commands from afar and they follow it from farther than right next to your side. I feel like Cheska blossomed in this class and the trust between her and I sky rocketed. When I took City Dog class we met at the Topanga mall area and this is really where you get to train in real life scenarios. At this mall you've got people walking by, you've got little kids running at you from all directions, you've got other people with their dogs who are just hanging out in the area, and more. So many good learning experiences all in one place. Brent really does go through every possible scenario of what you should do if you run into these types of things as well as how to position your dog while in public. To top it all off, you will also learn using stairs, elevators and escalators with your dog! Seeing all our dogs going up one by one on the escalators is the cutest thing I've ever seen Lol. In the end, Nature Dog was my very favorite class and I believe Cheska excels in this. Being in Nature is what animals were made for. I am already signed up for Nature Dog 2 and can't wait. As soon as more City Dog series come out I will take those as well. With these classes Cheska is becoming well rounded and she isn't confused, she seems to understand the difference of scenarios when we go out. The goal has always been to be able to take her everywhere with me, and through the help of Brent, Hunter, and everyone else at Canis, this dream has come true!

I appreciate everyone who works at Canis who we encountered every day, but I specifically want to give a HUGE shout out Romeo's trainer, Kaitlyn. I loved getting the text updates with pictures and just keeping me informed on how he's doing. If I noticed any bad habits at home, I would let Kaitlyn know and she instantly would work on it with him, as well as tell me how to continue the training process at home. We even discussed bringing Romeo back when he's a little older to complete 2 more weeks of training, which I will happily sign him up. He's also in the process of doing privates and the City Dog class to continue his training process. I also boarded Romeo for 4 nights during his training and everyone made it an easy and safe place to leave him while I was out of town. Overall, I would highly recommend Canis to anyone who is looking for dog training. Thank you to the entire Canis team!
