Looking for dog gates. Came here, was not greeted. Luckily the store set up was somewhat organized with cute point of purchase displays/bays. Easily saw dog beds... gates are usually there. Clearly I did not look hard enough, as we missed them.... Circled the store twice then realized they were on the wall with the beds just sort if hidden. Pricing was on par with other locations, maybe a little lower but we didnt see what we wanted. During our gate search- my circling path lead me past the aquariums... which I noticced the floor was super (grossly) dirty. That, along without any staff acknowledgement of our presence (or help) is what knocked the stars off the rating. Otherwise I felt the store much improved since I was last there. read more

My dog was supposed to get groomed here but her groomer canceled on her twice in a row. And then the next available appointment wasn't until a month later. I took my dog there and when I got there, they said that her hair was in too bad shape and turned her down. Her hair was in bad shape because the groomer canceled on her. I will not be taking either one of my dogs here again and I advise you guys don't either. read more

Friendly employees and great location. Inside is clean and well organized and employees are always willing to help. They even walk you to the area if you mention you are looking for something. On a side note, it's a good place for dog training. In 2018 we did the Adult Dog Training Level 1 for our girl. Absolutely Unacceptable Experience at Petco: I bought a flame angelfish from Petco less than 24 hours ago, and it has already died. I immediately called the store to notify them, talking to the general manager of the store expecting at least some level of accountability, but I was met with a dismissive "no refund, no replacement" policy. What kind of reputable fish store sells fish that don't even survive a full day and then refuses to stand behind their animals? If you can't even guarantee the health of your livestock for 24 hours, why should anyone trust you as a place to buy fish? This is beyond disappointing--it's a sign of poor quality control, inadequate care, and a complete lack of responsibility toward the animals you sell. If you're going to run an aquarium section, you should be ensuring the fish are properly quarantined, acclimated, and healthy before selling them. Instead, customers are left with expensive losses and no support. I won't be purchasing any more fish from Petco, and I strongly advise others to think twice before doing so. Fix your policies, train your staff better, and start taking responsibility for the animals you sell. In the new eastern Easton section, this Petco just opened and is now the closest one to me. Since Sweetie and I have three dogs and a cat we hit up pet stores fairly often for supplies. Petsmart has been at Easton awhile, but they don't always have the best selection or prices. Don't get me wrong, they're pretty good, but some brands of food, etc., we can only get at Pet People or Petco. So we'll be here a lot, I'm sure. Today I stopped in since I was nearby, and we had heard it opened. It's as busy as you might expect of Easton on a Saturday, and the parking lot of the new section is not well marked, so be careful. The store is pretty big and well-organized, and I got what I needed. Plus, I spent half the time playing with the adoptable kittens up front. Good thing Sweetie didn't come- even though she's mainly a dog person, she has been oohing and aahing over every kitten we see. I told her that's how they get you, and that they eventually become cats like ours, but she doesn't listen. Prices are pretty good especially if you watch the sales, service is great, and selection, as I said, is good. You can bring your dog in, which is always fun, and on the whole I look forward to going to any pet store. This one is a nice addition. read more

I have taken my two little dogs here twice before and both times they got good report cards. I had an appointment for one coming up and got a call today that they were going to have to cancel my other dog's appointment because he doesn't like to stay in the cage after grooming. My dog weighs 12 pounds and does nothing but kiss and hug people. He has zero aggression whatsoever. I told the woman I rescued him from Korea as he was in the dog meat trade and she just basically said hire a grooming service to come to my house. I've had him since December 2019 and have taken him every 6 weeks to groomers in Los Angeles and not one place has ever complained of this. You can check my previous reviews of "zoom 2 groom" and "spoiled paws grooming co" both of them eagerly awaited to groom my dogs and had nothing but pleasant things to say. Petco messed up. I won't be patronizing this company ever again and I buy a lot a toys and food. There are plenty of other dog friendly stores out there. If this is how a supposed "pet friendly" store treats their customers and dogs, it's quite a tragedy. read more

Horrible grooming experience here ever today. We waited for this appointment for 2 weeks and today we finally brought our dog in, the lady at the grooming reception refused to take the dog in just because our dog wants us to hold her as all other normal dogs would. She's give excuses that our dog is nervous and not ready for a bath. Horrible horrible experience, also forwarded the same complain to Petco the store and the corporate. Avoid this location for grooming as much as possible!!! I recently moved to Columbus and was looking for a Petco for grooming of my Westie as I had used Petco in my former city. This was the Friday before Memorial Day. My appointment was a 12 noon. When I checked in I gave the person my dog's rabies papers and how he had been cut previously and dropped him off. After waiting 2 hours for a phone call that my dog was ready, I called and he had not been groomed, only had a bath and then was informed that the other groomer had not shown up and my dog would not be ready for another 3 hours!! I immediately went to pick up my dog and when I got there, there was another guy there who asked me for the same paperwork I had presented when I dropped my dog off. I explained to him that the other guy had already received the paperwork and his response was "maybe he didn't put it in the computer right." This Petco was very unprofessional and disorganized. If the other groomer had not shown up, I should have been given the choice to reschedule. On top of everything, they charged me $43 for just a bath!! Since it was the holiday weekend, I was leaving town and wanted my dog groomed. Needless to say, that did not happen and I eventually took him to my former Petco and got him in. I ended up paying over $70 for grooming. I also explained to my former groomer what happened and they were very apologetic for my experience at this particular Petco. This was my first bad experience with a business since I moved to this city 2 months ago and I DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO THIS PETCO!! The only other one I will try is on Olentangy Road and if this one doesn't work out, I will be going to a private groomer. read more

We used the grooming service at Petco and it was a wonderful experience! My son was nervous about leaving our dog, so the groomer took us on a tour of the salon and explained everything that would happen. The facilities were spotless, and she took the extra care needed to ease my son's mind, which she didn't have to do. I wasn't sure what length I wanted my dog's hair to be (she normally has longer curly hair that she doesn't like to have brushed). I wanted a nice summer cut that would be easy to maintain. The groomer brought out a board that had several samples of what it would look and feel like at different lengths, and made a recommendation based on my dog's hair type and my goals. She did a wonderful job! My husband didn't even recognize our dog, she looked so much younger and happier. They had even given us a $10 off coupon when we made the appointment, which was nice. I recommend bringing cash for tips because their system isn't set up to allow a tip to be added to your credit card. I'm glad I had cash with me (I don't typically), because I would have had to go to the atm, that much care deserves a nice tip! read more

Petco Easton Town Center Columbus OH - Horrible experience with the groomers. I spent $69 for special oatmeal shampoo/conditioner and a bad cut on a Havanese. Beside cutting it much shorter (2" shorter) than I asked it was sloppy with hair not cut evenly. I spoke with the manager, he said they would make note to cut it longer next time. When I went to check some of them out today and at least 5 were dead and a few of those had been dead for so long their water was turning a sickly yellow from decomposing fish. Even their "healthy" fish had so much gunk in their water it was hard to see some of them. Inhumane living conditions and substandard care for a company priding itself on treating pets "right".
