My girl gets anxious in pet stores/groomers/vets. Luis was so great with her, he even gave her compliments when I picked her up - I was afraid she would give them trouble. Shari is always the best!! My dog has a past riddled with abuse before she found her way to my home. She is terrified of other dogs, and most men. She is a larger dog, and when I moved out to DeKalb, I had a HECK of a time finding a groomer that would take her size. (60 LBS) I finally called this Petco and they had an opening. From day 1 my dog has loved coming to this store! She always comes out so soft and fluffy, and very deeply brushed. They recognize her and call her by name as soon as we walk in, and they have NEVER placed her in the dryer. A specific request by me, because it causes her to get sever anxiety, a request other groomers in the past have ignored...) I recommend this location to everyone I talk to!! Especially Sheri! Had a wonderful time again today, the staff, Joe, Jimmy, and Brittney were there, and are always helpful, friendly, and knowledgable. Jimmy is there to help where he can, admits when he doesnt know something which is way better than misinformation, and is super kind. Joe has helped me set up an odd request, wanting to build a waterfall in my aquarium, and warning me about warranty issues, also helped me with ideas and has helped me greatly with answering questions regarding my fish. He also helped me rehome a giant fish i had no room for, which was a nightmare for me. Brittney has been sweet and joked with me about putting too much in one plastic bag, and has remembered me often and is super helpful and full of smiles every time I come in. Everyone in the store is great, sometimes patience is required because they do get busy helping a bunch of people, but rather than giving out crappy advice and misinformation in order to slough you off they take the time to answer you and make sure they share their knowledge with you. Super good location. Great staff. The owners are lucky, and anyone on here who disagrees obviously is either impatient, or dimwitted. Please support these folks, they deserve it. Dodge is a big GSD that doesn't like his baths. Joe is very good with him tho. When I pick him up he is beautiful and smells "manly". I trust Joe to take good care of my dog and wouldn't take him anywhere else. read more

I'm shocked to see the negative reviews for this location. This is honestly one of the best Petco locations that I have visited, in terms of both friendly service and stock. The store offers a wide selection of pet food and toys, and staff is friendly enough to give advice on a better deal elsewhere to help save customers money. read more

Terrible customer service, would only recommend this store if you know exactly what you need and don't need to talk to anyone else (which is the only reason I won't give a full on one-star-rating, because the store is still neat and well taken care of). Went in to look at the cats available for adoption that this store has and was completely ignored by all the workers who decided to not even acknowledge me being around. Waited around thinking they were maybe busy, but after ten minutes of trying to get a conversation out of them about where the adopted cats come from, I gave up and left. Sucks the cats have to be stuck in a place like this when they won't even let you look at them or answer any questions. Would definitely recommend Pet Smart across town rather than this place, where I've never had to deal with such bad customer service before. read more

My dog, who has no history of aggression, bit a groomer here during a nail trim. I was informed by the groomer thrusting her leash at me and saying "next time warn the groomer that your dog bites". I tried to tell him that she has no history of biting, and thus I couldn't have warned him, and he shoved his hand in my face and said "looks like she bites to me" I told him I was not trying to be confrontational but I felt like he was (at this point he was pacing back and forth behind the counter and balling up his fists). I asked for his name so I could make sure not to bring my dog in when he's working again. He told me his name, and that he was the manager and his store manager was right there if I wanted to complain. I wasn't going to, but at this point he's daring me to say something? If he's this aggressive and confrontational with customers, I can imagine why my dog was scared. I did talk to the store manager, who told me Luis said I said he was being defensive (I did not say that) and was very dismissive of my concerns. I won't be returning, both because of the rude treatment we received and the outright acceptance of that behavior by management. I don't trust anyone who is aggressive towards humans around my dog. read more

I have been taking my Shelties to get groomed here for over 5 years and have usually had good experiences. Yesterday we took our newest Sheltie to get groomed there and it was a complete disaster. It was obvious whoever cut him had no idea how to cut a Sheltie (bath, trim feet and feathers and leave everything else alone!). He came back so badly mangled I'm embarrassed for him - they cut off his mane, and he is cut so unevenly that even when it grows back it's going to look horrible until I can get him groomed again. This time, however, I'm considering going somewhere else. I am heading back today to see if I can get my money back (husband picked him up and was too nice to say anything yesterday); if they don't do something to help make this right, I won't be going back. read more

We have been coming to Petco for years. ALOT of new staff and not happy with the grooming of my dog. Doesn't look like she gets her nails cut anymore. Trying new places. We have complained to the extent of getting a free groom. Nothing changed. Even the free groom was bad. read more

Their grooming station is MUCH, MUCH better than PetSmart's! Their workers are sensitive and knowledgeable of the differential needs dogs have depending on breed, and unlike PetSmart they did not mistreat my Shiba (who can be difficult if you expect her to warm up to you right away, especially in regard to bathing and clipping toe nails). Go here for grooming; you can trust putting your pet in the hands of these workers! read more
