Petco, I just want to say these are absolutely HORRENDOUS conditions for these babies to be living in... Cold, empty, dirty metal cage. Nothing but a food bowl and a water bowl and cold dirty metal bars to stand on. The amount of time these birds sit in these cages waiting for someone to have $800 to spend on them is crazy. They sit for months and months. The least you could do is give them something cozy to sleep in a toy and keep a clean cage, this has not been cleaned in weeks based on how much waste is at the bottom. I know because I have one of these birds and this is straight up neglect. Do your jobs and take better care of these precious babies. This is absolutely sad. DO BETTER. read more

We were just in today to get our cat vaccinated and the lady checking in customers was awful to everyone in line. She looks like a 40 year smoker. She yelled at me and my husband. We did raise our voices back to say "please stop! Please just get us checked in" She yelled at us for letting someone go in front of us. We kept saying "please just get us checked in" but she refused. Then another employee who looked like she was twelve came over and told us to leave because we were raising our voices, even though her employee was too. She didn't even listen to us, just kicked us out. I have never been so disgusted with an experience in my life and will never visit again. The younger girl that looked like she was 12 was power tripping hard and threatened us with being Banned from Petco entirely. I am appalled. Very unfortunate because the last time there was a younger girl who was new that was so sweet, and the vet was quick. Hire better people, or your business will suffer. And get that 12 year old looking girl some lessons in deescalation and customer service. First rule is "ask what's going on" don't approach with a threat. My husband even returned to talk to the young girl and explain, but she was very resistant and unkind to him too. read more

Groomer didn't even try. My Pomeranian had her undercoat shaved and left her head unshaved so its very uneven. Her paws were unevenly cut and her nails were cut in front of us, almost as if they forgot. read more

I usually shop at PetSmart but found myself on this side of Hazard Ave and thought I would give Petco a shot. The store was not well organized and it was hard to find the cat items. Once I did the shelves were poorly straightened making it hard to decipher the prices. Once I selected the item I wanted I saw that it was for sale on Petco.com for less than half the price. I looked up the price match policy and found that Petco matches prices. The clerk processed the price match fine, but incorrectly quoted the policy stating they only match Petco.com and nobody else. This isn't true and while it didn't apply to me, it might apply to someone else. The staff was serviceable, but they didn't go the extra mile like the staff at PetSmart does. I will continue to shop at PetSmart across the street. read more

Great grooming facility, friendly groomers with no pitbull bias. Decided to try this store instead of the Holyoke one because one of the groomers there is so rude. The others are friendly but as they say one bad apple ruins the bunch. I'll definitely be going back to Enfield. read more

The BEST haircut my Coton de Tulear has EVER had. Petco was super busy and although they didn't have any open spots they told me to bring my dog in anyway and they'd make room which I was thrilled about since I called for an appointment at the last minute. My dog has hair- not fur, which can get long and matted if I don't brush it everyday. Even with regular brushing it tends to get matted in certain places and the grooming staff at Petco took the time to carefully cut out any small matts they could find and made those areas blend in perfectly with the rest of his long coat. Most other groomers we've taken him to (including a lot of the overpriced boutique groomers in Boston) say the only option is to shave him once he gets any matts which is not a good look for my dog- or if they do cut out the matts they leave his coat looking really uneven. I also liked the open atmosphere of the grooming stations in the front of the doggy salon so you could see all the dogs being groomed . Another nice thing- I had forgotten to bring his leash when I picked my dog up so they gave me one to take home with me free of charge. I even received an email the next day with a 20% our next grooming appointment which I will definitely be using. read more

Gabrielle does a great job grooming my 60 pound labradoodle, which is not an easy job. While in for the haircut I get all the dog supplies I need. They are well stocked and the staff is particularly helpful at pointing me in the right direction or even leading me to want I'm looking for. The worst. They didn't cut my dogs nail so had to drive back, or left her matted so i ad to drive back or once her ears were lopsided so again I had to take her back. When I complained they asked me to go elsewhere! Then they charged me $55!!! read more
