I took my Pomeranian to have a full groom plus cut with Veronica. It was honestly one of the best grooms he's ever had. She was fast, thorough, very friendly, and my dog left without a hair out of place. I'm still amazed at how perfect of a cut she did... everything's so even! Also, I could tell that she took great pride in her work and that it was important to her that I was satisfied. We will definitely be returning for our Pom's next groom. Great prices as well!! P.S. One employee was about to sell me the fish, and then another worker came and told him not to sell it to me, even though there were still customers shopping inside and the store still had 15 minutes before closing (it was 8:45 and they close at 9). We were lucky enough to meet with Paris who suggested puppy trims until her fur grew out correctly and I'm so glad we did because 7 month later her fur is growing out beautifully all thanks to Paris. I would put 0 stars if I could. I'm not sure if they have a new manager or the groomers are to lazy to do the work they are trained to do.I've taken my dogs there before and never had any issues. I've never written a bad review but after this morning I was frustrated. I made an appointment for my 2 dogs and they refused to groom them and said I was better off shaving the dogs cause it's impossible to groom them and it'll take too long. I have two malamutes they have a very thick under coat and are super fluffy. I understand they are a lot of work and I wouldn't have mind paying extra but the whole situation was extremely frustrating. They said no groomer would do it I left and called a local grooming store down the street and they took my dogs with no problem and was able to get the under coat out. read more

Petco seems to have turned into a weird store. I happened to be near this location over the weekend and stopped in because I needed a few cat supplies. They didn't have the water fountain filters that I needed and they didn't have a wide variety of cat food. They also will not honor coupons that are on a phone because they said they have to send the coupon to their corporate office and with a phone coupon, there is nothing to send. The store layout is kind of weird too. Items aren't logically placed and finding what I was there for wasn't easy. The staff was friendly and they did help me find what I was looking for (except for the filters). I don't think I wll shop at Petco again for awhile. read more

Staff are not friendly. I've had a couple good experiences but most seem annoyed or inconvenienced to help. They NEVER have us saved in the system, which makes it impossible to get any grooming done. They do not enter their paperwork so past grooming is not documented. Nobody apologizes for the companies mistakes. I have even had cashier yell at me about the return I was making and called her manager then threw my item forcibly into the trash to cause a further scene. Go to Pet Smart. read more

I have purchased cat food and litter to find out that there were grain moths in the food . It was so bad that they took over my kitchen where I feed my cat. Horrific experience with my furry child...which will effect the rest of her life. When picking her up, the groomer tells me.. an employee opened door really fast causing my furry child to jump and get cut on her paw.. finding it hard to believe, I just agreed.. as she told me it was minor and not bleeding anymore. As I am speaking to her, I noticed the whole counter is full of blood. I had to take her to Hospital, turns out the cut half her paw which fell off. Her Vet said she could only walk early mornings or eves, as pavement would be too hot for her to enjoy walks since she had half back paw missing. It was the groomers lack of empathy and professionalism as well as store manager who was not only rude, lacked management skills and well wont even touch his verbal communication skills. UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Susan booked the CGC exam for my dog on Thursday. After I took the day off from work to make this exam, I was told upon entering the store that the dog trainer called out sick. When I spoke to the store manager I was told that the trainer doesn't work on Thursday's. The store manager called me the next day and apologized and said that there was none excuse to this and was "baffled" as to why they would book me on a day when the dog trainer does not work. He comped me the price of the exam and invited me to come in today, so I gave the store a second chance. When I met Chris, the dog trainer, his stench of cigarette smoke was so strong I immediately got a headache. He then told me that he's thinking of working at Dynamite Dog Training instead. I found this rather unprofessional and shocking. My dog passed 7/8 of the most challenging tasks except the "three minutes of separation" under Chris' supervision. I quite frankly don't blame her and NEVER have I heard my dog cry so loudly in someone's presence before in my life. She has great intuition as I wouldn't be comfortable alone with him for three minutes either. Now off to buy some Advil for my headache due to his smell. I would suggest one to steer clear of this Petco location as I will never step foot in this store again. Thank you for wasting two days of my time! read more

Very friendly and charming store. Clean, well organized , amazing selection of products. Pets are welcome and my dog enjoyed the cart which was just the right size and the right level for her to see all the products. A youthful and helpful staff who were very friendly and each one greeted my dog individually as we made our way around the store. Pet treats were abundant and so many varieties, literally several aisles of every type. I was really happy to find Halloween themed decorated cookies and treats at a very affordable price, they also have these really cool Oreo-style cookies with similar packaging and omg, I can now feed my dog cookies without guilt. They are healthy and great ingredients, and not weird flavor, but a sweet just like a regular people-cookie. Some very cool and unexpected items. The staff is great. We didn't use the grooming services, my dog is pretty low maintenance but the groomers were quite friendly and I'm very happy we went there. My dog and I had a great time and I'd like to go back because it was so fun. read more

I bought a larger (Aqueon) tank for my Betta, who'd gotten lethargic in the very small one we started with. The salesperson was very helpful in picking out the right things to put in it, and the Betta clearly seemed much happier in it. BUT...after getting it all set up, including using the drops to make sure the water was ok, I began noticing water around it. At first I thought I'd just splashed it when filling the tank, and mopped it up. And kept mopping. And kept mopping. This morning I noticed the water level was much lower, and there was water on the floor. The tank leaks!! Now I have to go through all the time and trouble of undoing everything I did yesterday, taking it back, replacing the drops of water conditioner -- and then starting over with a new tank. I recommend that people make sure a tank doesn't leak while still in the store! This was NOT a positive experience! read more

I originally went in to buy supplies for my crested gecko and happened to see where the crested geckos were stored and to say I was disgusted is an understatement. There were at least 6 crested geckos in a 20 gallon tank. Males and Females put together. I saw a girl crested gecko that I ended up buying the workers did not know how to handle her and grabbed her very roughly out of the enclosure by her tail as she tried escaping one of the worker even said 'Does she want the ugly one?' I ended up taking home the gecko and set up her enclosure (The gecko must have been 2-3 years) She was very jumpy and not used to being handled which is normal as she was scared. After observing her for about a day I saw that she was very different from my gecko that I own which is also a crested gecko she was very lethargic and wouldn't really move which was concerning. I observed her further and came to the conclusion she was sick so I returned her. I brought her back to the store and they took her to Wellness as to my suspicions she was indeed sick. Please if you are looking for a reptile please do not go to these big chain pet stores. The animals don't come from a good breeder and they will most likely end up being sick. If you want a reptile please go to your local reptile store where the animals are treated better and the people know a lot about the animals. (I got my first crested gecko from 'MOC Reptiles' in North Miami, and my gecko came home with no problems and I still have him to this day and continue to buy my reptiles from there) read more

After adopting my first dog from the Humane Society in Miami, I took a drive to this store to load up on the essentials. Though I didn't buy everything I needed here either because I couldn't find it or was pricier than I thought, I still give this place a 4-star rating. Here's why: The staff is very friendly and everyone stopped to pet the new dog. My dog even received some treats from some of the employees. There are many dog toys in this store and many different varieties of treats and items. The food I was looking for was only available on a really big size so I didn't buy it. Also, I was looking for a food bowl that doesn't skid and I couldn't find one. Overall, is a great pet store. read more

It's sort of new, and the store's neatly organized, but the dog groomers at Petco are atrocious. They fail to cut my dog's nail, everytime! I'm surprised they're even licensed to be groomers -- it seems like they were just dragged off the street.
