This one star is for the grooming facility. Me and my mother take our dogs to get groomed here and they do a very good job, the only thing that is REALLY frustrating is they never answer their damn phone or call you back. There was also a time when I went to pick my dog up from being groomed and I stood there for about 10-15 min waiting for the groomer to notice me because she had her damn headphones on. I don't remember her name but she wears those big pink headphones. Management needs to re-train their groomers on customer service it's REALLY FRUSTRATING. read more

Went to check out the pets available. This store is Petco's smaller concept neighborhood store. Compact and necessities only. Yet they have a pet self wash area, adoption cages and a vet. We went to the reptile area and saw an adorable and friendly bearded dragon, a couple of laid back bearded dragons and a veiled chameleon. There was a leopard gecko with a colorful orange tail. Turtle, fish and parakeets. The hamsters and Guinea pigs were cute. Wanted to take them home with me along with the beardie. And the ferrets were so funny. One of them got a home as we were visiting. Lucky guy. They're so active and mischievous. It was a nice little store and I enjoyed looking at the animals. Clean and neat. Parking is plentiful. read more

My experience was not great at Petco. The sales person told me that I had to buy a tank and all of the related apparatus before I could buy a fish. I happened to have all of the necessary apparatus at home from a previous purchase, but this wasn't mentioned as a possibility. I was frankly taken aback at the many restrictions imposed by the salesperson and while I can appreciate his desire to "set me up for success" , I did feel a bit intimidated by his approach. Recent visit was on Saturday November 23rd 2013. Right when we entered this establishment the "swish" of NOT SO NICE of smelling aka foul smell, filled the air or shall I say the Pet store. We went aisle by aisle to see what we can get for Chloe our cat, but nothing came that catches our eye fancy. While we were there some patrons come with their puppy for dog training. We were also here to see what animal shelter bus or shelter van in town and did not find any dog to rescue which Hubs was looking for. *Sigh* Oh Well. Everything here is great but the groomers. Never ever take any type of husky to the groomers here. I took my husky shepherd mix here twice and each time I walk out fuming. This time around, they just full on shaved my dog when I asked for a trim. My dog looks absolutely awful and I'm very unhappy. I've worked at several animal facilities and grooming facilities and Huskys are never supposed to be shaved like this. I really hope her coat will grow out properly still. They also cut off her whiskers and did such an uneven and choppy job of shaving. I paid over $90 for this disaster. And I still tipped $20 because I've worked in the service industry but I honestly wish I hadn't. I wont be back. read more

I am of age, living in my parents home that they own, and I went into this petco to adopt an adorable cat they had. i was in there previously and a man offered to take the cat out for me to pet, and get to know. i came back later that day to talk about adoption, and i spoke to a different lady (blue hair). she looked mr up and down and asked if i was 21 (i am 18, i called the petco and they told me i had to be 18 to adopt) i obviously said no, and she told me i couldnt adopt the cat because i wasnt old enough. it was very unprofessional and this lady prevented not only me but the cat from having a loving home. im not going back here. read more

Very caring and considerate staff! Carefully took the time to answer questions and get to know our dog. The haircut was perfect and just as discussed. Our groomer took a lot of time to keep our dog calm and happy! He usually arrives shaking with fear and leaves shaking with fear at other pet grooming locations. So, is the store open until 7 or 7:30? Cause we tried walking in at 7:19 and the doors were locked. We called, said they're closed at 7:00 (this is Wednesday, by the way). Hours posted on Yelp and Apple say 7:30 PM Monday-Thursday. Google says 7:00. Which is it? This review is for the grooming and specifically Tori! She was the best most patient groomer we've ever had. Our dog is 13 and has anxiety and can't stand for long lengths of time. I know the grooming took extra time because she said she had to give him breaks to rest because he couldn't stand for a long time. She did exactly what I asked and I'm very picky. I'm a horse person living with two dogs. Sadly I can't trot my Golden into Dover and expect them to help me on his feeding and grooming needs. So I have learned to settle. Petco is the closest pet store to me. I go out of convenience, and when family sends me gift cards. I do NOT go for the prices. Damn. They price jack all over the place. Seriously. I can go over to Petsmart and get things two to three dollars cheaper. So generally I do. I shop here as a last resort. Plus, their selection is hit and miss. They will only have an option or two at best for what you are looking for. I have used their grooming a few times and it hasn't won me over either. They keep calling wrong numbers when I leave them with a good one and my dog has it attached to his collar(!). When I leave my worrier of a Golden there I'd like to make the process as fast and smooth as possible for him. read more

We took our puppy to class here and met the trainer, Kavita. She is extraordinary! I've taken my dogs to "puppy school" many times and have NEVER had a better trainer than Kavita. The lady who cuts dogs nails is very rough and does not know what she is doing. She should not be a groomer. She made my dog scream, to the point where the whole store could hear him. Then said my dog was aggressive towards her, even though she's the one making him yell. She told us he was not allowed back for that instance. We have since taken him to Wag N Wash down the street and there he NEVER yells, and does not get aggressive towards anyone. I would NOT recommend taking your dog to petco for grooming. read more

The groomers did a great job. My minature schnauzer seemed more calm when I picked her up than she has with other groomers. She looked very pretty and smell good. Pshad a good experience. She was more playful than usual. I will definitely go back there. read more

My wife and I used to shop here for food for our animals, but we changed brands and PetCo as a company doesn't carry our brand anymore. Petco grooming overbooked and kept my dog in a cage for three hours. He's a bichon and they made him look like a white rat. They actually shaved his balls and scraped his skin. Have had dogs groomed here in the past, lately though they are SO SLOW! They used to be much faster. Also, no matter how many times I told them how to do his face they just ignore what I want. The store itself seems to be out of alot of items frequently. I like the Dry Creek + University store much more than this one for shopping and grooming. read more
