Kerman Village location on Atlantic blvd. I informed the cashier the ferrets were desperately scratching and going crazy for water. Alexandra comes by and said they do that. She only gives them water in the morning because they make a mess. I told her I have never heard of that. She responded in a nasty attitude and tone like she wanted to fight. She said like what, like what? I called corporate immediately. I have cats that make a mess with water so does that mean I don't give but a few licks of water in the morning? Very unprofessional Alexandra! Do your job and provide water to the animals before they get sick. I was told I cancelled my appointment via text and I looked back at my text history and was able to tell that that wasn't true, after expressing that the lady in the grooming department and showing her on my phone. As a aquarium hobbyist since 1988, I am very selective of the stores that I do business with after poor experiences with fish having disease, water quality and store cleanliness. This Petco Store near Marsh Landing is the best store for fish everything IMO - although a "chain" pet store, this Petco always has pristine water quality in their fish tanks, healthy fish and a decent selection of aquariums and accessories. I purchased my current freshwater aquarium, came with OTB power filter 20 years ago (for a incredible sale price) and it is still working marvelously for my schools of community fish! Check out this Petco store near Marsh Landing for your aquarium fish stuff - you'll be glad you did!! April 6, 2018: here in store to "bring back" and donate a beautiful and very healthy red tiger barb that I've had for 1-2 years - the tiger barb got big and something inside switched and he all of a sudden got territorial - decided to go on a nipping spree with the other fish and Community tank harmony was disrupted. I Connected with Cheyenne the Manager who remembered selling me this fish and she gladly took him back to donate to another good customer to add to their tiger barb tanks. I took my dog for grooming, the person checking her in showed me a chart of hair length to choose from and offered a De-Furminator package to help remove loose hairs and undercoat. I chose the shortest length without shaving her and agreed to the De-Furmination. My cell rang when I pulled into my driveway and it was assistant store manager Mikhala in for Andrew who is the store manager but out for weeks having surgery. Mikhala told me they couldn't cut my dog as short as I wanted because she is a double coated dog and they just don't do that because it causes the dog not to heat or cool its body correctly. This is a 7 year old dog that is groomed all the time and not one groomer has ever said that or not cut her hair. I questioned the decision vigorously but agreed to just have her washed, De-Furminated and her nails trimmed. I then received a call 15 minutes later saying they decided my dog wasn't a fit for THEM and to come pick her up! Mikhala accused me of hanging up on her but when I got loud asking why she hung up on me TWICE. When it is time to knock off for the day they pick and choose who they want to groom and the customer is most definitely not right. I have called corporate and lodged a complaint, most specifically against Mikhala who should not be managing anyone. Andrew will also be hearing from me when he gets back from surgery. Stay away from this store. read more

Crossed the ditch and a bridge to go here specifically to check out the rescue kittens TARAA had for adoption. (Just to be clear, adoptions of rescues are animals that were NOT purposefully bred to sell for profit). 17 kittens today and we brought one home. Because suckers. Petco is smaller than its competitor and seems pricier too. Neither of these observations mean it's a "bad" thing, it just Is what it is. It was pretty busy Saturday so obviously, they're doing something right. The U-FIll-It kitty litter was interesting. Selection of pet food seemed extensive. Had everything a pet owner would need plus classes and grooming. Check marks all the way around plus extra points for letting Rescue Groups do their thang in their building. If I lived close to Petco, I'd probably use it for the kitty litter and supplies that are priced similarly in other stores. If you'd like a furry companion, consider adopting and not buying your furever friend. Regardless, of how you acquire Fido or Fifi, Petco seems a decent place to stock up. read more

Worst customer service and grooming services I've ever experienced. Thankfully my dog does not have a coat that needs trimming as I'm afraid of what else could go wrong. While I believe that everyone can have a bad day and should be given a 2nd chance, this was my 3rd bad experience. I will not utilize the groomers or shop here. Petsmart is just as close. read more

I took my dog into the grooming saloon to have my dog shaved down. They asked to shave the ears. I informed it was ok. When I got my dog back from the groomers the ears were both clipped and bleeding. I thought it would heal but it didn't I called Petco and informed them. They told me to take the dog to my vet, which I did. There is a discrepancy between my vet and Petco. Petco doesn't take any responsibility for their actions in clipping both ears of my dog and refuses to pay for any portion of the vet bill which was over $300. I guess I will be looking for a new grooming saloon to do my dog from now on. I was told to call Corporate to see if they would they will fix it which denied to pay anything. I'm filling a complaint with Better Business Bureau. read more

Skip it if you value your time and money. Terribly disorganized and unprofessional. Went in for 2 dog baths and hair cuts. Asked a few questions about what the price included. Groomer lady got very upset I was asking questions. Got her manager because she couldn't handle basic questions like "is nail trimming included?" Manager tells me the kennels were broken and they had to cancel. So why didn't they cancel earlier in the day when they knew there was an issue instead of making me drive 30 minutes with upset dogs. Never again. Rude and scary groomer and a manager who clearly doesn't want to be there! Groomer & manager acted like drinking buddies who just wanted to get outta there. Skip it. read more

Heather did a fabulous job with our 24 lb GOLDENDOODLE's matted fur. We like her fur clipped about 1" long and there is usually matting under the ears and in the usual places under front legs & tail. Michelle did a fabulous job with our 55 lb LABRADOODLE. These poodle mixes tend to have matting issues because of the curly hair. We have been pleased with Petco after each grooming. read more

We recently got a new puppy so I needed some basic supplies. I went over to Petco since it's close by to grab some puppy food, collar, tag etc. I really like that this Petco has a huge selection of different types of food. They carry so many brands and varieties. A representative from Blue Buffalo was actually in the store when I was shopping. I have always used that brand since they carry grain-free, non-filler dog foods. The rep helped me find what I was looking for quickly and even gave me a coupon. Really friendly staff. The only downside in my opinion is that the fish tanks always seem to have a few dead fish floating. They have so many of them so I suppose that's why but it could use a little more care. read more

This is our go to pet store at the beach when staying at our condo in Jacksonville. Close to the house and conveniently located in a strip mall that parallels JTB almost to A1A. There's a private parking lot with plenty of available parking. You're politely greeted when entering the store. A great selection of anything and everything for your pets. We were excited to find sweaters for our dog because it gets cold in Jacksonville and he needs one when walking on the beach with us in the winter. Whether you have fish, cats, birds, dogs, hamsters, Petco has what you need. Food, toys, beds, clothes and even grooming. This is a great little store and checkout is friendly and easy. read more

Shopping here once again for my new four legged friend of a different breed and love that they have the 'refillable' containers for kitty litter. It's a pretty good deal and with only one cat, we don't have to fill up all too often. Staff is always super friendly and willing to help you find whatever you may be looking for. They also seem pretty knowledgable when asking if they carry a certain product in that they can tell you right away without having to disappear to 'figure it out'. Great pet store, you are guaranteed to find what you're looking for anytime you walk into a Petco. Great selection of items for dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, you name it. Employees are fairly knowledgeable and friendly. Also a very friendly environment to bring your pets to, as long as they're on a leash, they're free to walk the aisles with you and help pick out your items, especially treats. Petco has good quality stuff, but the prices are usually higher than most other department stores, especially Target or Wal-Mart. However, the selection is always more impressive, and the staff knows how to help you. Definitely a great place to stop if you need some supplies for your pets. read more

This is a nice store. The employees are always friendly and helpful. I like how they readily accept returns. For instance, we purchased a wooden crate (one of the ones that looks like a night stand). My dog chewed through it the first time we used it! I called Petco and was told to bring it right back. I loaded it up in the back of the car, presented my receipt and was immediately refunded my money. Very nice customer service. Very helpful staff. Petco offers a rewards program, which can save a little money if you shop there consistently for expensive things like dog food. They also often e-mail coupons for a small percentage off. Recently they sent a 20% off coupon for your entire purchase. Unfortunately, the very fine print excluded items that have been marked down. I read the fine print, but I failed to notice this exclusion. When I pointed out to the checkout clerk that she hadn't give me "20% off my entire purchase," she called over the manager. The manager was a smart ass, and said, "You have to read the whole coupon, not just the part you want to read." He told me there was nothing he could do about it and that I should have a nice day I don't have time to parse the fine print of deceptive coupons. And I have no wish to interact with smart ass managers. Petco has lost me as a customer forever. read more

I just wanted to wrtie a review on the organization TARAA that is at petco on Saturdays. I've had the worst experience with them. A couple of weeks ago, I saw some kittens they had available and contacted the person in charge of the organization. She told me each kitten would be $145 and spraying/neutering would be extra. Also vaccines would be extra too. On the TARAA website it says spraying/neutering and vaccines would be included. The next day I sent an email to TARAA making sure I got the right information on the cost and stating that she told me different information on the phone from her website. I got a very rude email back telling me that another family was approved and the kittens weren't available. I was so polite in the email and I just wanted some things clarified. If anyone is looking to adopt kittens Katz 4 keeps and wags and whiskers are great organizations. read more

Josh, the dog trainer, is FANTASTIC. not sure if he's there any more, however. I just started using yelp, and he's one of my first reviews. Josh is probably the highlight of this store though. He's great with my dog, and gave me advice even though i didn't have an appointment or anything. and his advice worked. I only wish he was around for my second dog... The store is clean, However Ive worked with reptiles for a very long time. and all of their reptiles are very stressed and unhappy. I know the bearded dragons are at least unhappy. You can tell by the spots on their belly. If they're dark, the animal is stressed. and they're dark every time i come in.Also, expensive read more

I adopted 2 kittens there just to get them out of this terrible store. Both kittens had eye infections. I immediately took them to the vet. When i called petco to inform them of their improper care- they told me to use normal saline for the cats eyes. Essentially water?! To cure an eye infection?! I think not! My vet was so frustrated they reached out to the store themselves. Fast forward- i go into the store for food and browse around...to find 2 dead betta fish (which the rep tells me are "sleeping fish" once she examines them- quickly corrects herself and says they have "expired." Obviously!!!! Walking out i water leaking on the floor from turtle tanks. Is this a joke? This place should be shutdown. I now frequent at pet supermarket instead...and so should you! read more

I love this store. Recently went to the PetSmart on SS Blvd and had to deal with a rude manager (female with brunette hair) and a creepy cashier with a bad attitude. After two bad experiences, I went back to PetCo at the beach and what a difference. I was greeted by a professional, courteous manager and clean-cut/friendly cashiers. I will make the drive to PetCo from now on, even though it is a little farther than the PetSmart. read more
