Love this place!! My pup does too. They have literally everything I need for Milo, ranging from organic/natural foods, treats, toys, etc. It's a one stop shop and then some. I also got Milo's nails clipped here as well - with your Pals card, the first time is free! It only takes about two minutes, so I'm sure once I have to start paying for it I'll be salty lol. But huge shout out to this Petco for hiring Rollin, he's an amazing manager. He stayed and talked with my boyfriend and I about what kind of diet we should be providing for our new german shepherd and didn't care how many questions we had. He literally took us from aisle to aisle stating the pros (and cons) of different brands and answered any questions I had about what kind of bowls/brushes/etc. I should be buying. I have been coming here for years for supplies for both dogs and cats. The selection is always great, they have a large selection of supplies for a wide variety of animals. My issue is with the customer service. It usually fails to meet expectations. There is an older lady working here that is always great, super friendly and knowledgable. But the younger employees have poor attitudes ranging from the relatively benign but still frustrating vacant stoner-esque demeanor, to curt rudeness, to blatant hostility. I am sitting in my car in front of the store fuming right now because I just essentially got chased out of the store at 5 minutes before closing. First they made an announcement over the loudspeaker that the store was closing in 8 minutes. Then 3 minutes later, right after I received an important phone call I had been expecting regarding a family member, one of the two girls working at the time tracked me down, came to my aisle, and talked over me while I was on the phone saying, "Do you need something?" I had been in the store for a grand total of 5 minutes at this point, and had my purchase in my hand. I was forced to discontinue my important phone call, go to the register and complete my purchase when it was still 4 minutes till closing, and hurry to my car. As someone who spent years as a waitress, where if a customer came in at 1 minute before closing, we had to provide them with full, regular - paced service that often kept us there an hour or more after closing, this behavior really pisses me off. They need to get a grip. I'm already going to Mud Bay instead whenever possible, this experience only reinforces that stance. Only come here if Mud Bay or Target doesn't have what you're looking for. Target has much cheaper wet food for cats, and Litter Genies, by the way. read more

We came in to get my dogs nails trimmed, she stepped out to the desk area and told us "come back in 30 mins , I DONT have time for walk ins". So rude. All she had to say was it will take me 30 mins to finish up with this pup, are u able to wait. I felt like Petco didn't value me & my pup so I left and took my business elsewhere. read more

This isn't your dad's lions, tigers, and bears pet store, kids. Nope. This is more the ferrets, fish, and parakeet store. And there's nothing wrong with that. This Petco is one of those convenient-cause-it's-close-to-the-other-place-that-I-frequent-cause-that-place-is-close-to-home-places. It's small. And with a small store comes smaller selection. Thing is about this smaller selection is that it lacks consistency. It's as if they're Buyer/Purchaser decided to play Spin-The-Wheel with the sizes, flavors, and colors of what should be available in this store and gave it absolutely no tact and strategy. It isn't true variety in this store. I find myself in need/want of a product that is usually not quite. The service is your usual "we love animals better than humans because understand me better" service. Lots of smiles, lots of empathy, and lots of unneeded advice. I'm not saying I'm not listening because every once in blue moon, I'll come across a nugget-o-info that I hadn't known about. This isn't to say it's a bad thing. The employees here seem to have that "Please let me help you" urgency equivalent of needing to find a bathroom fast...under control. For the most part. I indulge their need to help with a smile exchanged and press on. Keep Calm and Smile On. Overall, there are definitely better stores. Its just the selection. It's too inconsistent for me to want to ever recommend it to anyone. Because that whole "you said it was there! I checked in on yelp and everything" textversation is just one that I try to avoid as often as possible. read more

This is a small condensed version of the larger Petco's I've been to. If you're in a hurry and know what you need to get, this place seemed to nail it. I've had to run in here to get bird food for my Caique and they do have the Zupreem brand he eats. I've also had no problem spending $100 on bird toys to stock his cage. Sure they sell parakeets, but the toys available show that they are catering to larger parrots as well. Today I was here returning a Kong toy that was a gift and it was too big for my dog. I lost the receipt, but there wasn't any issue asking for store credit as I was there shopping for a couple things anyway. I found a sweater vest that was Boston Terrier sized and I got a new padded harness that fit. I was also looking at crates and there are quite a few options available along with dog beds and kennels. The cat stuff doesn't look too shabby either. I substitute some cat toys for my bird because he seems to like the jingly plastic ball things and he likes to shred the foil looking crumple toys. So far I haven't had a problem locating items I need for my Avian/Canine family members. I'll be coming back. I like this place. I really want to get a Beta Fish and Ferret. read more

Filthy and cluttered with the same high prices of Petco. Smells strange too. The customer service is good but I bought a ball python from there and they gave me wrong advice to care for him. *He was very underweight and needed adult mice but they were feeding him hoppers because they claimed he was afraid of adult. I called to inquire and possibly schedule my dog to be groomed. I had waited on hold for an extremely long amount of time. Someone eventually answered and explained there were only 2 groomers. I then proceeded to wait again. Someone picked up, but didn't answer and was having a conversation with someone. I'm not quite sure they even knew. It eventually when back to the hold status. White lady with purple colored hair is very talkative and she has a horrible attitude. Just went in to get a couple fish for my tank. Did my own research and I knew what I was doing. She gave me some sarcasm and tried to sell me more expensive stuff and expected me to grab it rather then just bagging the fish that I came for. (Already have supplies at home) Later on caught her whispering to her co-worker about me and when I looked at her she stopped whispering and walked away.(mind you she was looking dead at me so it's obvious she's talking smack about me) I said thank you after I paid for more than 200 dollars and she just stood quiet with an attitude all on her face. Came here to buy a gold fish, a woman then told me i had to buy a 110 dollar tank for a 3 dollar goldfish. Even though I've had a goldfish that lived in a gallon bowl for 12 years. Gave us lots of attitude and proceeded to ask us if we were even 18 (we are). She was condescending and rude not planning on coming back. read more

I've been bringing my dog here for several months now, but yesterday was her last time, my Queenie was almost bald when I picked her up, I asked for facial hair around her eyes so that she can see, they cut off all of her hair,including her eye lashes, she gets the same cut every time I don't know I think they were just trying to be funny by cutting off the eye lashes I didn't notice that until I got home , not worth $51.00 to have your pet mistreated, and to not do what you ask them to do so call spa treatment. you get a big fat 00000, If I did't half to give one star to post my review petco you would get no stars from me. read more

The store and staff itself is great for the most part. For the grooming department they did an OK job. My dog really needed to be groomed so Petco was my last resort. I've never been to a corporate place before but the whole time I was anxious and wasn't impressed. Service was very scripted and not personalized to where they would stand out from other businesses, therefore I wouldn't come back. The groomer was late, it took 4 hours on a small 9 lbs dog and it was very uneven. I've never seen my dog so quiet and unhappy. read more

I took my dog for to get groomed for the first time, I had adopted him 8 months ago and wanted a full grooming experience. Made an appointment , three hours later he was done, he smelled good, his nails barely looked shorter if at all. Exactly three days later he has kennel cough, he has a deep honking cough, throwing up white sputum, all the signs of kennel cough when he was perfectly healthy, not immune compromised dog before took him in. I won't take him back, three hours for a routine appointment is too long and the hygiene must be lacking. read more

I brought my puppy here for puppy school levels one and two. The trainer was very friendly and patient with the dogs, and gave practical advice for working with my puppy at home. My dog is now well behaved thanks to her :) They also have a wide selection of dog supplies (toys, treats, food, leashes, etc.) and it appears they have a similar selection for other pets as well. The groomer took great care of our Labradoodle. He was gentle, patient and did a wonderful job. My wife chose a rather short cut for Loki; but it turned out very nice. Because Loki had not been groomed many times in his three year life, he was a little tense. The groomer- I am sorry we did not get his name- was just what Loki needed. We will be back. read more

We have been taking our dogs to Tina for several years now. She is great with our dogs and she does a great job. One of our dogs was abused before we found her and she is very skidish around people, but Tina makes her feel comfortable every time we bring her in. They look for every reason to charge you money! Got my dog groomed and he's literally bald now. My initial total was supposed to be about $70 but it ended up being more than $100! My dog was all red everywhere and even the little hair that was left is uneven. The lady that took care of my dog was rude as well... Overall, not worth it nor happy with this at all. This Petco has experienced a steep downturn since it opened. The staff was once excited to help, but now seem resigned and lethargic. I also noticed at least 4-5 large urine spots on lower shelves and displays. I could go on and on about the ethics of buying animals like guinea pigs, ferrets, and reptiles from a massive company, but I won't. Suffice it to say that buying animals from huge companies that prioritize sales over animal care is... bad. (I can recommend lots of other, better places to obtain healthier, ethically-bred or sourced pets, if you want to know.) Lower-than-average customer service and staff knowledge base, questionable animal sourcing, not clean, not well stocked or faced. High prices on many brands. Would not recommend. They get 2 stars for having a decent variety of treats and foods. read more

The Petco in Morgantown WV has an excellent dog trainer named Josh. If you have a puppy, especially, you need to take the opportunity to pursue dog training opportunities with Josh. I have a 4 month old Golden Retriever puppy who was developing some bad habits. Josh helped me understand how my behavior influences how the puppy reacts. He utilized positive behavior to reward wanted behavior. Josh is mind and professional and knowledgeable in the skills necessary to help you socialize and develop your puppy socially. Thanks Petco - your lucky to have Josh. Because of this positive experience I know make all my pet need purchases at Petco. read more

Best groomers ever! You get what you paid for. My dogs went in matted. One can be dematted for extra charges whereas the other needed to be shaved. Dematting charges were reasonable too - $7/15 mins. Oh btw, this location does not have self-service dog wash. The other Kent location does which is very stupid in our opinions. Why would Petco open a new store and call it Kent Petco? They could've called it Des Moines or Midway Petco!! SMH!!! read more

If I could give 1/2 Star, I would! My dog went in for grooming today with Alice. I went to pick him up and there was an additional charge for using the scissors on my dog around his face. Uhmmm, excuse me, but isn't the $51 for "grooming" part of using the damn scissors???? I want to make it clear that, the extra charge is not an issue. The issue is that they didn't call me to let me know of this new extra charge. This is completely unprofessional!!! If you took your kid to the dental office for fillings, left them there and came back to pick them up and the front desk adds $30 to your bill. You'd be damn pissed you didn't get a phone call informing you of the additional charges. If I bring my dog in for grooming, I expect a phone call if there's changes to my dogs procedure! PERIOD!!! Petco in kent, Wa miserably failed at communicating and delivering professional care. I think the ladies there hate their jobs. I would too it I was 60 years old working at a pet store. Not impressed with the Asian lady groomer. She was told to leave the long tail hair and ears but she cut it. She put way too much boy cologne smell on my pup. It gives me a headache. She charged the unnecessary stuff we did not ask for nor did she ask us. Not going back there again. I gave it two stars because the store itself is fine but not the grooming. read more

My dog is a small short hair breed- never needs hair cutting so I take him in every now and then for nail trimming. One time I asked how much it would be for a luxury bath and they quoted me $50!!!!!!! For a small dog?! C'mon!! Went in today hoping to get the usual $10 trim. The asian lady tried to charge me $15! When I explained that last time I was in, the other employee charged me $10 for trimming/pad treatment, she said that employee was wrong and could be fired for not charging me extra. It's the little details that make or break a customer for life. I walked out and vowed never to return all because of one lady. Again it's not the money (even though $5 each time adds up), it's the negative attitude. If she said it in a nice way, I would have reconsidered. Sure I understand this one incident isn't a reflection of all the other employees at this store, however the store itself is what you would expect from a large chain business. Just so so. Yeah I'm sure the asian lady was just doing her job to charge for EVERY LITTLE THING, however I would MUCH rather go to a local competitor and show my loyalty there.
