She gets so excited as we pull up to the store. She doesn't like me doing her nails or bath so they are my hero's. I recently had a bad experience with the Vetco at this location, where they sent me home with the wrong medication for a senior cat suffering from chronic kidney disease (CKD). After Logan's appointment, I was given what Vetco staff told me was a potassium supplement. A few days later, I noticed the bottle was actually labeled Vitamin K-1. My regular veterinarian later confirmed that Vitamin K-1 is not potassium and instructed me to stop giving it immediately. To be fair, the chemical symbol for potassium is "K," so perhaps this was an honest mistake. Nevertheless, dispensing the wrong medication to a pet with a serious medical condition is completely unacceptable. What was equally disappointing was the response afterward. Because Vetco only operates certain days of the week, I contacted the store and asked to speak with the general manager. Instead, I was connected with a merchandising supervisor because the GM, Charlene, was unavailable. I explained that I would stop by the store in person to discuss the medication mix-up. When I arrived, I was told Charlene was in a video meeting with her district manager until 11:00 a.m. and could not make any accommodation to speak with me. The apparent lack of urgency surrounding a medication error involving a customer's pet was shocking. Mistakes can happen, but accountability and concern should follow. Petco - tropical My husband and I went to Petco on Tropical hoping to find a Syrian hamster. The first time that we went we had a gentlemen help us and he was extremely knowledgeable about hamsters and just animals in general. We talked with him for a good five minutes. We didn't find a hamster the first time, but we came back a couple of weeks later. This time a woman helped us and she let us interact with all of the Syrian hamsters - and there were like 20 of them. Finally, after going to pet store after pet store - we finally found our new hamster. He's a black and white Syrian that we've named Mario. He has a huge cage/house. He seems to be really happy with the set-up. We've had dwarf hamsters in the past and we both had Syrian hamsters when we were young. He's burrowed straight into our hearts and we are proud to call him family! Kudos to Petco on Tropical! You made our family that much more richer for our new family member! Also, the store was clean, the cages were clean, the animals were all healthy, the service was paced just right for us - not too fast, not too slow. I had to ask for dog brushes and was directed by a nice gentleman. Turns out he was the manager. Got a couple of things. I did get a dog brush. It was right in front of the dog area. I saw dog brushes in the same area priced differently. 3 peeps were chatting, when I turned to ask a question, it was clear I was interrupting their conversation. When I took my purchases to the front the cashier said the brush was $14:99. Nope. It was on the hanger with other brushes for $4:99. I love coming here for our fish (and to look at all the cute little animals). This will be forever my place of business for our fish not only because how clean they are (one of the cleanest fish tanks you will find) but also each time I've visited Tray has helped me and he is just phenomenal. He is friendly, kind, sociable (but not over the top) and he was so kind to my very active 6 year old. Because of him I will drive the extra trip to come to this store only. I ordered curbside pickup, but I still had to walk inside to get my order. I waited outside for a while, and I could've sworn I saw the employee looking out into the parking lot from inside, but didn't actually come out. I was parked in front of the entrance, so if she had walked out, she would've easily seen my car. It kind of defeats the purpose of curbside pickup having to go in. She was very nice when I went in, and I didn't complain, but I'd suggest having employees actually step outside of the building to check for customers waiting, or at least call the customer (if possible) if they don't see the car instead of making us wait a long time or having to go inside. read more

I take my doodles here for grooming, the groomers are great. They always leave my babies looking sharp and smelling good. Prices seem to always go up with inflation would some way decrease. Petco stopped selling rabbits in 2008. They are back at it, selling them again. Please sign and share. Petco is officially selling live rabbits in their stores again, after over a decade of promoting rabbit rescues. This is a massive step backwards, and here's why: 1. Underage Neutering Employees claimed the baby bunny on display is a 3 month old neutered male. Neutering at 3 months is highly risky, as rabbits typically reach sexual maturity between 4-6 months old. Neutering early can lead to stunted growth, hormonal imbalances, improper bone growth, and death during sterilization. It's clear Petco is pushing underage neutering in order to sell baby bunnies while they're still small and loaded with the "cuteness factor." This is bad practice and most veterinarians refuse to neuter under 6 months old. Are the veterinarians they're using qualified exotic veterinarians? How many have they lost due to underage neutering so far? And since they're only taking males, what happens to all the females the breeders produce? 2. Price Tag vs. Adoption His $250 price tag isn't deterring customers because at least 1 bunny has already been sold at this location despite the program just starting. What Petco isn't telling you is that rescue organizations like ours offer neutered, fully vetted rabbits for $100 or less. Why pay more for a rabbit that has likely been subjected to risky underage procedures? 3. Questionable Breeding Practices Petco's sign claims the rabbits are "responsibly bred," but where's the proof? What's their criteria? Are these rabbits sourced from high-volume breeders where profit trumps welfare? We'd like to see pictures of every single breeders setup. The term "responsibly bred" is entirely meaningless without transparency. Anyone can claim to be responsible. Puppy mill breeders claim it all the time. 4. Misleading Breed Names The sign also labels this rabbit as a "miniature" breed. Why not specify the actual breed? The use of vague, cutesy names like "miniature," "teacup," and "teddybear" is misleading. These aren't real or recognized breeds. Petco uses these names to make the rabbits more marketable. 5. Enclosure Failures The rabbit's enclosure is a dumpster fire. You'll notice that there is zero enrichment. Rabbits love to play and need lots of mental stimulation. Why does this bunny have zero toys? The houses are too small and see through, offering no real comfort or security. No matter how scared the bunny gets, they will not be able to hide from customers. There is a water bottle instead of a bowl. Rabbits naturally drink from bowls. Bottles are unsanitary, like drinking from a dropper, lead to dehydration, and more. The entire enclosure is also set up like a litter box and there is no actual litter box. This means the bunny will not be litter trained when they are purchased and will walk amongst its feces in the meantime. If Petco can't even create a proper enclosure for the bunnies, how do they expect customers to set up? 6. Diet Disaster Petco is feeding this baby bunny bell pepper and Brussels sprouts. Let's talk facts. At 3 months old, their diet should consist of unlimited hay, fresh water, and small portions of leafy greens like romaine or green leaf lettuce. Other veggies should be gradually introduced 1 at a time, the size of a thumb nail or less to ensure they do not cause G.I. upset. Brussel sprouts are cruciferous vegetables high in sulfur, which can cause gas and bloating in rabbits...especially in young ones. We do not advocate for feeding cruciferous vegetables at all. Are the employees prepared to deal with G.I. Stasis? Do they even know what it is? Bell pepper isn't inherently dangerous, but high in sugar, so shouldn't be given to a 3 month old rabbit in such a large quantity. They are exotic animals for a reason and Petco is already setting both the bunnies and customers up for failure. This is the beginning of what will likely be widespread neglect and suffering if they continue to sell rabbits. We urge you to speak out, educate others, and support rescues. Petco no longer has our support and we hope they don't have yours either. They're already botching rabbit care and this is just the start. Hold them accountable. What can you do? I recently had an unsettling experience at the Petco location in 89149 that has left me deeply disappointed. After receiving some initial assistance, Joe, the manager, suddenly refused to provide dog food and service for my snake, despite there being no justifiable reason. The entire incident was captured on tape, which clearly shows the events as they unfolded. What stood out most to me was Joe's biased approach in handling the situation. Several off staff members as customers started the incident as scene on tape and Joe did not witness that. He. Made an assumption. There was an off staff manner telling her friend to stop on tape, Joe as a leader missed that and a made assumption and clearly on the tape as well as the register guy did not want to interfere with Coworker being rude and remained silent.. His actions were not just unprofessional but also indicative of poor leadership that he could not solve the issue while his boss needed a vacation that was over due in all aspects of work life life balance. Good job Joe.... Instead of addressing the matter with fairness and objectivity, it seemed that personal emotions and bias clouded his judgment. This is particularly troubling in a customer service role, where every customer and their pets should be treated with respect and without prejudice. I haven't yet reached out to anyone else about this, but I feel compelled to share my experience. I talk to Joe and he said " I sent the tape to Cindy" doesn't even realize his co worker he has bias with and her customer off duty starters it all. As customers, we are the backbone of any business, and we deserve to be treated fairly and respectfully. Additionally, the well-being of animals should always be a priority, and any sign of bias or hostility towards them is unacceptable. Billie beyond words i want to say thank you. i currently have a blind leopard gecko that i got from this location. It is emaciated beyond belief and i was worried he may have crypto. took him to the vet long story short we found out he is blind. Billie told me that she saw him the day before we purchased him she thought he was blind and told a manager and we ended up buying him before they could do anything to get him help. i called yesterday and spoke with billie and she was nothing but the biggest help. Petco gave me the option to if you will "trade" him out for a healthier one, and i wanted to keep him. i asked for a discount and they gave me a sample of critical care to help for free. i would trust every single one of my animals in the hands of billie. she has amazing customer service and apologized for the confusion it was when i walked in. i can truly tell she wants nothing but the best for my animals health. thank you so so much. Customer service in the grooming department is trash! My husband dropped off our dog in August for grooming and reported to me that the groomer was giving him a hard time for dropping our dog off a half hour early since he was on his way to work and I was already working. They took the dog but husband was upset about the treatment he received. I tried to drop off our other dog this morning and after waiting 7 minutes while 2 groomers attended to their dogs and didn't acknowledge I was waiting, nor was there anyone coming from the back, Ashley finally came out and asked who I was checking in. I told her and she responded with "well your groomer doesn't walk in the door till 9:30 so she'll take care of you when she gets in" to which I responded that I needed to drop my dog off early cause I had things I had scheduled as well. She just looked at me and then went into the back and never returned. So this Petco doesn't want you to drop your dog off early and if you do you'll be waiting till your appointment time. Thank you for making my husband late for work in August, and for making me miss my son's pediatric appt to which I had to pay for. Absolute trash. Won't be coming back. read more

Apparently, it's perfectly okay for The grooming staff to beg for tips, gripe about additional service fees imposed by the company that are not passed on to employees and not provide information about required vaccines before making an appointment, however as a customer, I can't express dissatisfaction or complain in a survey? WOW! Per Kristi the manager and Sarah Rose/Karen1, it would be better if I don't bring my pet back to Petco on Tropical Parkway. When I was finally able to reach Kristi/Karen2, the manager by phone, I was told something like "I made Sarah Rose/Karen1 uncomfortable ." Sarah's//Karen1 voicemail said I was being asked not to return based on my last review. Which is it? The survey or my frightening presence? Could it be the color of my skin? Is that why they're sooooo uncomfortable that speaking to me via phone or in person isn't an option? For the record, the manager told me that Sarah Rose/Karen1 conveyed this information to me during my last visit. This is a LIE! It's not that I'm sad to lose the subpar service I've received the last few visits from this Petco. It's the lies and the full on avoidance to resolve their poor customer service, that is frustrating, disappointing and bewildering! I do not recommend that anyone use this location. My dog and yours are better off to avoid this cess pool of possible racially based quality customer service! Note, due to a discrepancy about my dogs vaccination status on a prior visit, I was upset and I left. I didn't use inappropriate language,although I did express dissatisfaction about not receiving the information before my 8:00 am appointment for which the grooming staff arrived late. An appointment made on my day off. On the next visit once the required vaccines were updated, I apologized about being upset. However, I still think the Vetco records and Petco grooming records should be synced to show to vaccination status or grooming eligibility. With today's technology, is that such a phenomal task? There is literally blood and poop on the floors and walls and it seems like the staff and management care very little. I wouldn't even let my kids in here. They were trying to push thousands of dollars of treatments for everything from his teeth, his new sudden heart issues they say he has, and a mass they found that is just a fatty mass. Frustrated with Petco grooming all around. The one at Blue Diamond created an ear infection in my dogs ear by not putting cotton balls in before bath time. This one, good but won't shave or use furminator on our dog to help with shedding yet we were charged the furminatot cost. I can tell when furminator has not been used. The shedding is horrendous still. We were getting groomed every 2 weeks, no way the shedding should be as bad if using the furminator & 20 extra minutes of PAID brushing!! PLUS I TIPPED 10 -15 cash on top. Pay the extra for a PetSmart, they will use the furminator & help with shedding issues. In the desert I'm not worried about my dogs coat being full so much, she's an inside dog. That's why we need the help with shedding. Anyway, the gals are nice but they won't do what you want as a customer if their "beliefs " differ from yours. read more

I've never seen a more condescending, passive aggressive staff in my life, including and especially the manager. I'd never had any issues before today, but most definitely won't be returning after being belittled and made to feel stupid for speaking up over having an issue with the quality of a service I was paying my hard earned money for. Instead of simply calling to notify me that grooming was running a little bit behind and that's why my dog has been at his basic grooming appointment for nearly 3 hours (even after bringing him in early per their request), both the manager and the groomer decided to make me feel stupid and like I was in the wrong for bringing up an issue with it at all. All I needed was a phone call to let me know they were running behind, but instead I had to call to ask what was going on and was met with "Well, there are other dogs we have to manage and take care of too" and the most un-empathetic "sorry." I've been part of the service industry for years and Ive even managed, so I know the responses you give to difficult customers to make them feel stupid for "acting out", but I also know the correct way to handle a dissatisfied customer. I was just feeling disrespected after simply asking what they had been doing for the last 2 1/2 hours- 3 hours and didn't appreciate how I was being treated from the very beginning of the appointment. No actual apologies for their behavior toward a paying customer and no inclination to make me feel even slightly better about the situation. I didn't need any discounts, I just needed a little bit of accountability. Instead of just owning up to them not having any sense of customer service and JUST APOLOGIZE for not calling to notify me of the situation, the manager gave a personal excuse for the delay that humiliated both me and the groomer, and told me that it respectfully "wasn't really any of my business" but she just wanted to let me know to make me feel better, and that's why they didn't need to call and let me know why they were running behind or why the groomer was acting as unfriendly as she was. Probably don't want to get me started on how freaked out my dog seemed to be even being around her. A simple "Hey we're so sorry we've run into a couple of issues with our schedule so we're running a bit behind today" would've gone so far with me, and I likely wouldn't have had a problem waiting to finish out the rest of my dogs appointment. Instead I'll just find another groomer who has more respect for their customers and their pets, and a little more pride in their business ethics. read more

The groomers from grooming are absolutely the best I highly recommend Presley she is a wonderful groomer and I trust her with my 4 fur babies. My fur babies range in all sizes and ages from 13/3/1year 5 months to my little baby girl who is 5 months old. Their sizes are from small, medium, large and extra large. She is super friendly easy to talk to and is fast and efficient. I've been to her three times now and I am just happy that I switched Petco's and found her. My animals aren't hurt, nicked and oozing from their ears like the previous Petco groomer was treating my babies. My animals are like my kids and I obviously want the best treatment for them so I'm content with leaving them in someone else's care, and they are happy in that environment. I took a chance with switching Petco's and I'm just pleased with the treatment and care that is provided to the animals that come to this location. My dogs grooming appointment was cancelled, on the spot, because he had some redness in his ears. The manager somehow, without ever saying a word to me, denied services to groom my dog. I've been a vetco member for years and have never had to deal with such terrible customer service and hospitality. My dog needed his ears cleaned, along with his grooming, but rather than help my dog, they send me away to figure something else out. I have appreciated your services up until now. I adopted a rescue dog. 'Bought some fun things at Petco. 'Signed my sweet dog up for lessons and was thrilled to have the first lesson the next day. Maryann (instructor) was amazing! Unfortunately, the dog had to be returned to the shelter. 'Very sad. I went in and asked them if it was possible to get a credit for the remaining lessons. They went out of their way to make me feel better about the whole situation. They refunded the entire amount. I am a Petco fan forever! Awesome employees! read more
