The grooming department doesn't seem to like my furbaby and it shows in how she is groomed and NOT taken care of and it's hurting my feelings. I don't know how long this post will stay up. I just want to share that I will NEVER visit another PETCO location again. They are specialists in Bait and Switch. A few months ago I was approved for a credit card there. I received a credit limit of $350. The credit card has never worked with multiple excuses given and even replaced credit cards given. Tonight I went in to buy an automatic litter box that I saw a good price on. I know it is cheaper at Walmart but with the discounts and rewards I am to be given with the credit card I decided to purchase it there. As soon as I swiped my PETCO credit card it immediately said declined. I contacted the credit department and was told it was because the store I was in was "unrecognized" by the system. But, I was assured I could use another form of payment and pay the full price with no discounts or rewards. I asked how a store that has been here for 5 years could be "unrecognized". No answer was given. I asked for a supervisor to be put on the phone. I got the exact same thing from the supervisor. Again, I was informed that I could pay some other way. I asked the supervisor how much credit I had and what my balance was. I was informed I had $350 credit available and $0 owed. When I asked why I would pay a way that did not give me a discount or rewards his answer was simply "I have no idea". When I inquired about whether I would have the same problem at another PETCO location I was told I would have to go and see. WOW, just WOW!!! Needless to say I have cancelled the card and advised the supervisor I would be contacting the States Attorney to file a Bait and Switch complaint. And, again, it gos without saying that I will never enter a PETCO location again. I have used their Vet Services and Grooming Services in the past and that will not happen either. Thank goodness there are other pet stores around and I can drive by this one. read more

Such a Horrible experience today July 3, 2024 regarding my pets care. The general manager Lupe had no regards to the grooming concerns my pet experienced and had the audacity to shift blame after looking at the cuts and abrasions on my pet after receiving her grooming services There was No apology or sense of empathy overall She repeatedly stated they have cameras and she did not see this occur...well how did it not occur?!! Are you saying I am lying, exaggerating my pets obvious cuts and abrasions? The groomer called me to pick her up knowing what happened during thr grooming and did not mention a word nor take ownership. Lupe was cold and dismissive of my concerns overall I was only refunded HALF of my total payment and given a wound care spray for her abrasions and cuts I wish I could show the pictures however this review site will not allow it For all the pet owners we know our pets do not have a voice especially when in harm It is unbelievable to think a pet store would not engage in better treatment of their OWNERS whom are attempting to make it right read more

Ridiculous! $90 for nothing when it comes to grooming. This is not the first time we've had this issue. We specifically tell them to do ONLY the $23 bath for our two dogs, they are short haired jack Russel/ chihuahua mixes. With the bath we ask that they also brush their teeth which is a $10 add on making it $33 each dog. Today (as well as last month) we asked them to do this exact thing as I've listed above. We were charged $23 each for the bath AS WELL AS $22 for THREE add on services, which we did not ask for. We ONLY asked for the bath and tooth brushing. In the $23 they are supposed to cut their nails and brush their fur, neither of these things were done. In the $22 add on, which we did not ask for, they said that they buffed nails, brushed teeth, and did the breath refresh. As you can see in the pictures it's obvious that teeth were not touched, they did not brush their fur. As far as the breath refresh, their breath still smells very bad if not worse than when we dropped them off. So we paid $90 for services that we not only didn't ask for but services that were clearly not done. Upon getting home, I also called corporate and spoke with Raymond who basically treated me as if it did not matter. He talked in circles and was tying to rush me off of the phone while I was speaking with him. read more

This Petco location is definitely one of the cleanest I have been to! It's been open for a while now and they've been able to keep it as clean as when it first opened. While I do find that Petco tends to be a little pricer than other pet stores, I definitely recommend price matching with Petco online as the items are usually a lot cheaper online. They also occasionally have a really nice selection of bettas! I don't really recommend buying any of their other fish though... I've gotten a few guppies from there and they always ended up diseased and dying even after quarantine. read more

This is the worst Petco location by far in terms of their grooming department. They used to groom cats at their location, then they did mobile cat grooming only, and now their groomer is apperently allergic to cats and doesn't groom them anymore. Not sure why they would hire someone that's allergic to cats in the first place. read more

Don't bother trying to schedule a grooming appointment here if your dog is diabetic. I was turned away because my dog is on Vetsulin for his diabetes. I was told "come back when he's not on medication because it can be too stressful for him" ...I wish diabetes was that easy to treat. read more

This is the worst petco i have ever been to in 12 years of having a yorkie. Left her at the petco at 8:30 for her grooming appointment, came to get her 4 hours later at 12:30 and she STILL wasn't done. Stood at the grooming area for five minutes until a white woman with black hair came over drinking a soda from her lunch break to tell me that she still wasn't done because she doesn't like the hair dryer, which makes no sense because my dog is always well behaved and i always get compliments because of her good behavior. This woman rushed on my dog's haircut as i was watching and got mad when i asked her to touch up her face because i wasn't happy with it. Kept going back to talk with her coworkers. Clearly doesn't care about her job or what she does. Also acted like i was an impossible client, went to the back to stall with coworkers. didn't accept the payment because deep inside she knew her crappy job and sloppy work didn't deserve a single cent. extreme lack of professionalism and commitment, i think a groomer should love and care about pets, and also care about the final results. if you don't like your job QUIT. You need to take pride in your work and have a work ethic. Don't have the AUDACITY to tell the client what haircut is best and say "I don't know what you want me to do at this point". Our dog has been at this Petco since they opened and at his last grooming he got his leg hurt and now since they paid the vet bill they won't see him for regular grooming very disappointed that he can't continue there and has been label pron to getting hurt. This dog has never been hurt before or had any health issue this is their way of not seeing him. He went every week and now after being told he can't be seen after at least 3 years of service this is very upsetting read more

I stopped in to pick up a couple of doggie crates and the kind of bowls you can latch on to the crate doors. The good news is they had the crates and they had the bowls. The bad news is the prices were sky high. The crates were $20 higher than TSC and the bowls were twice as expensive. And the quality was the same on all of the products. So I left. This was my 1st visit to this fairly new location. The store was clean and appeared to have everything in stock but was almost empty on a Saturday afternoon. Truthfully, getting out of this strip to the east (AKA going towards home) is just too much of a pain. Drive through the back of the next strip over to get to the light that takes forever to turn green, or fight your way through the new Costco traffic to get to the other light. Either way, I don't see any advantage worth me switching from the PetSmart down the street. read more

I honestly believe this is the best petco that I have been to. The staff is so friendly and caring. It's a smaller store so it feels more intimate. We are currently training our puppy with Monica and both my husband and I love her! She treats our dog like one of her own, and you can tell she truly cares for these pups! Love this store! Looks and appears to be the most tidy Petco among others. Associates are friendly and informative. I was led in the right direction upon entry to the products I was looking for. I also received some yummy samples for my dog which was absolutely the icing on the cake! I also, loved how it wasn't overcrowded and the floor plan makes it easy to navigate the store quickly to get in and out. This is my new go-to spot for all my pet care needs! I took my German Shepherd in for a de-shedding bath and when I picked her up she had hair all over her like they didn't even bother brushing. Clumps of hair, in the pictures, were coming off in my hands when I pet her. I wouldn't take your dog here if they are big shedders because I guess the de-shedding package isn't a very thorough brushing out. Disappointing considering the total cost. read more

I brought my two dogs to get groomed. Get a call a few hours into it, telling me that my dog is going to the vet in another city because she's bleeding. Okay. I ask questions, like which dog? Oh, you have two dogs here. They didn't even know my dogs name. Okay. I kept asking questions because no one was really explaining anything. I said, what happened? Oh, something with her paw and it's bleeding. I wasn't even apologized to. It was the craziest experience considering the groomer literally cut into my dogs pad. The manager said he was calling to ask if I wanted to pick my dog up at the vet or they bring her back there. That's what they called for? Not to tell me that I drop my dog off and the groomer cut her? They did not handle it professionally. They should have been apologizing. I rushed to the vet. She's bleeding all over the floor and they had to mop it up. She had to go under anesthesia to fix it. She had to stay in a cone for a week, foot wrapped up and on three medicines daily. I never got an apology except a quick apology from the employee who drove her to the vet. I got an automated survey about my experience. Explained how disappointed I was at how it was handled. I received a generic response saying that they are sorry that my experience wasn't better. That's it? Did anyone even read it? Obviously I'll make sure all my friends and family don't visit a petco because someone isn't training staff well. I still had to pay for my other dogs grooming. Really? After the stress on my family, it all should have been on petco that day. read more

While the store itself is newer it smells of dirty small animals every time. When taking a puppy to a puppy play class I would expect it to be for puppies not a older dogs who anytime the puppies went near it would go after the puppies. This dog should not have been allowed to stay in the play area. The puppy with it fine but not it. The trainer was also in no way involved with the puppies as other stores trainers are. When the older dog kept going after a puppy trying to play with it instead of one the owner doing anything about it, or the trainer saying something she instead blew a load air pet corrector at the animals. This effects all pets in the area as loud as they are probably the whole store as well, not just the one who needs correcting. If this is how the trainer teaches animals anything I feel bad for the people who pay for training here. I also expect that my puppy be going somewhere safe for it to be. Shot records were not even asked about for any of the puppies or should I say dogs. Will not return to this location for play, training or anything else in the future. There are plenty of other locations within 20 minutes of this one. read more

Went to get my puppy groomed today and Nancy (one of the groomers) was extremely rude to me and to one of the other groomers when I went to check in. I was so appalled by her rudeness. She tried to refuse the service because my puppy was too young for the rabies vaccine and that we were told to just get her second set of puppy shots and bring that up there and we'd be good, we were told that on a pervious attempt to get her nails trimmed. So we did that and brought all the vaccine records that we had. We had something HANDWRITTEN BY THE VET from before we got her. We got told that could have been written by anyone and refused to accept that it was the only thing we were given and tried to tell us that we were suppost to have tags given to us for it which you only get when the rabies vaccines are given. They tried to contact the vets office after I said just forget about it and walked off with the vaccine records. Another manager was brought into the mix and was rude as well and did not acknowledge that I was the puppy's owner and that my mother was her owner. They completely acted like they did not want my business. And with Nancy's rudeness towards myself and the other groomer I did not feel comfortable having my puppy there to get groomed. Another dog came in right after us as they were trying to decide if they would groom my puppy and the owner and dog were treated so nicely and they were all so friendly to him. I will NEVER be bringing my business back to this location due to the rudeness that I have encountered and the fact that I do not feel comfortable with having one of the groomers anywhere near my puppy. read more
