This place is right by my house and normally the employees there are beyond helpful and I would always recommend them. Today, Cassie went to assist me with buying WhimZee's dog treats. For whatever reason, they always have a difficult time with the price on these. The box was labeled at $86 and she rang it up and the total came out as $103. I asked why it was so much more and she said it was the tax which was a lie. So that's the first problem. Why lie to me? I explained the math and she was condescending and rude, told me I could take it or leave it, wouldn't let me finish my sentences or anything. I did have an important call come in during check out when she was trying to help me (Dr appointment) that I needed to schedule that took maybe 20 seconds and she said that was rude of me - even though I apologized and there was no one else in the store to assist. When I told her that I'm not going to get the treats - even though I really wanted to for my dogs because of the service, she just kept saying "ok bye", "bye", "bye" as I was walking out. I've been to this location so many times that I've lost count but I'll have to find a new place for the simple fact that I would be totally uncomfortable running into this same employee.... read more

I do not normally go to this location but I did today because it was on my way home. Overall staff was nice. Lots of remodeling and prices not visible or on all items. The most annoying part is when I finally checked out Sara checked me out. Gave me the wrong change amount then asked for the change back. Also after I checked out saw an add in their store that two things I bought were buy 2 get one free. And she did not tell me so I could go grab my free item. Poor customer service, and rude employees who where not helpful , went to different location and they where wonderful with no issues

Very poor customer service and downright rude. I went to this location with a friend of mine. We both had our dogs with us. Upon arriving at the store there was a rescue or a training type situation with not friendly dogs at the front door. We both picked up or dogs and went inside. Once we walked in there were two employees at the counter. The older of the two addressed us asking if she could help us in an already irritated tone. I said yes I have a leash and harness I would like to get replaced (their brand has a warranty on them). Her response to me was is it broke or something? It is chewed and close to breaking yes. I then asked if I needed to get the same color. She replied with yes. Ok no problem. We went over to get one and planned to look at tags and a couple other things as well. Turns out they didn't t have the purple one I currently had so I asked her about it. "Did you even buy it here, we don't have purple and we have never had purple as far as I know" Yes mam I did while showing her the name on them. "Well I don't think we have ever had that color. What store?" I explained it was in fact another location. She then snapped at me " Well then you need to go there." Mind you all this time I know in fact that the policy on it is not the case. However I wasn't going to argue with a clearly already angry woman. Upon getting to our car I called the corporate office confirming the policy on the warranty and that in fact it did not matter what store I went to. The purple had been discontinued as well so in this case yes I would needed to get a different color to replace it. I went ahead and went to another store and spent my money there. Had 0 issue with the replacement of my harness and leash. I've included pics of the items in question. read more

This store is fantastic. Such a great concept to incorporate a small neighborhood mom and pop-feeling store into whats actually a chain. The associates here are nice and have been super helpful as we're learning our way around our new dog. They helped us with fitting a harness and also agreed that the one we purchased wasn't right for her, so we went with another, which they also helped fit. They also provided a lot of education around the different types of dog chews they sell. And best of all, their return policy is fantastic. If your animal doesn't like it, bring it back. Came in to just look around. I bought my boxer some salmon and vegetable dog treats. She has crazy horrible allergies and she tolerated the treats well. I also bought her some vegetable based teeth cleaning chews. The only bummer was that I purchased a Kong dog chew toy and she ate the ear off the animal the first day! I like going to Hollywood Feed stores, they have a lot of food and supplies to choose from and they are always super nice to us and our little furry guys. They have a huge selection of dog food, especially the Fromm brand. Make sure to give them your name and address so they can keep track of your purchases. After so many bags of Fromm dog food, you get a bag for free. The store is always clean and well maintained. We love coming here and bringing our dogs. Highly recommended! read more

Before getting a dog, I used to pass by this place all the time but never really knew what it was. Well, I just got a dog, and I've been doing a looooot of research on dog food because I wanted to make sure he is getting high quality food. :) After reading a lot of reviews, I finally settled on Fromm, but they didn't carry it at your big box stores (PetSmart). I was going to order on Chewy.com because they have good prices, but anything under $50 had a shipping fee, and I didn't want to order big bags each time. I went onto Fromm's site and it listed Hollywood Feed as an approved vendor and there was one right down the road from me! The employees are very knowledgeable about the dog food and also very helpful in answering any questions you may have. The store is very small, a fraction of the size of Petsmart, but they are also very restrictive of the brands they carry, only carrying the best brands ;) Any food or treats I purchase in this store I feel very good about feeding my furbaby, knowing he is getting only the best. read more

I don't know what I thought this place was..to be completely honest, I thought it was a high end store that specialized in animals that were not really domestic (like horses, etc.). Anyway, that was wrong. It's so close to home and the guys in there are really helpful..the dog likes them too! They have top name animal food (ie Science Diet) and they have a bit of everything from toys, food, leashes, treats, clothes, the list goes on. So far I have bought a seatbelt connector for the dog's hardness in the car and some poop bags (Sorry, don't have a classier name for them) and the prices were reasonable. The store is a bit crowded but they have plenty to choose from and help from the guys in the store if you can't find something. I can't believe I hesitated about giving this place a shot. This is probably the best place to buy good quality cat and dog food. Even big name companies "where the pets go" do not carry this stuff. Honestly, I did not even know what "good quality" food was until I read an article and started reading the ingredient list on my animal's food. Most of the food from other stores is packed with filler ingredients and animal bi-product. Hollywood feed does not carry the junk from the other stores. We have been purchasing two brands, Orijen and Fromm for both our dog and cats. Ask your local pet store if they have these brands, I am willing to bet they dont. They also carry raw frozen bones for dogs, my dog loves the beef! On top of having the best quality food, they have the BEST customer service! Everytime I bring my dog in they always give him treats and love on him. Anytime I go in by myself, someone always helps me lift the huge bags of food into my car. The employees are also very knowledgeable about their products. If you have not had a chance to stop by this place, just do it. Poke around and ask questions! Stopped by to check out the store, and found some really neat canned dog food that our Boston really loves. He's super fond of the one that has the coconut milk in it. We also got some of the deer lung treats, and OMG! I like to put out a treasure hunt for him when he comes back from the spa or some other places. If I don't really, really wash my hands super well he can smell them on me, and he goes nuts! They have a variety of lung treats, and he loves them all. read more

I love this place! I wanted to get good quality food for my dog I adopted earlier this year, but didn't want to go too far. Hollywood Feed was right down the road so I thought I'd give it a try. You are welcomed every time you walk in the store, someone is always asking if you need help, and everyone is so friendly. They were super helpful when I was deciding on a food & I love that they have a guarantee that they'll take it back if your dog doesn't like it (& then donate it!). The selection is great and quality is spot on. I actually look forward to going in each time since the staff is so incredible and I never have to wait long to get help or checked out. This place is nice and it smells nice to be a pet store. I was surprised and felt good walking in. But, I was looking for a very specific item and needed help. Walk around the whole store and at least 3 staff members walked past me and did not offer their help. When I realized I didn't want to be there anymore and didn't find what I was looking for decided to leave. I stood by the front door for 1 minute just to give them a chance, but no. They have so much here for pets! From food & supplies to awesome gifts. I go out of my way to this location even though there is one near me in Prosper because this one is always fully stocked with the special kind of food my English bulldog needs and tons of other cool pet items! We first discovered Hollywood Feed when looking for a specific brand of dog food that none of the other local chains carry. They actually have quite a few brands we were interested in, but can usually only be found online, and at comparable prices. One of our dogs was diagnosed with IBD (intestinal problems that affect digestion) and they have been super helpful both before and after she was put on hydrolyzed proteins with suggestions on things we could try with her. They have mostly healthy choices and lots of supplements. On several (all?) of the dog kibble, after you buy a dozen bags, you get one free (only pay tax). They also carry a ton of Kong products. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I raised a concern about a particular brand being bought and the ingredients sourced somewhere else and they escalated it to the home office, because they want to make sure you get the best products available for your pets. This is a great store. Yes it's a little pricey, but you really do get what you pay for. The staff is always super friendly and goes above and beyond to help. We usually go in and look for food, treats, or toys for our pup. I've never come in where someone didn't offer to carry our haul up to the front register. They are very knowledgeable of their products and will try to help you find what fits your pet, not just the most expensive thing on the shelf. They carry some of the best dog food around. Our pup's tummy troubles are a thing of the past since we started buying Origin from here. They do great work with rescues as well. Last weekend our corgi picked out his new lab mix sister from a rescue here. They gave us a discount on the supplies we bought for her. They provided a helpful list of suggested items to get your new dog; they spent a lot of time with me answering all my first time dog ownership questions about a variety of products; measured my dog for the proper sized collar; brought my product selections to the front so that I didn't need to carry them around the store and best of all, they fussed over my pup and gave her lots of attention. Love love love this place. We used to buy from the more common pet stores but when we bought our new family member home, our daughter insisted we check these guys out. When we walk in with Max it's as if he is family to them as well. They talk to us and ask more questions about our dog's behaviors, activities, eating habits, etc, etc. they really take the time to understand your pet and make recommendations afterwards. I also like the fact that the chew toys and bones are US made and not drenched in chemicals. I highly recommend them to any dog owner. read more

We love Hollywood Feed. The management is amazing. My husband was running to grab a bag of dog food because we were out & the manger re-opened the store for him after hours just to let him buy a bag of dog food when he arrived a few minutes after closing. That is excellent customer service! They always offer to carry my (heavy) bag of dog food to my car and are excited to see our fur babies when we bring them with us.
