For the Fish Department. Let me start by saying that customer service is fine and this is more directed towards the store itself. Went in and purchased some fish and after I had already had them bagged and paid I checked my receipt and I ended up paying way more for the fish than what the price tag presented on the aquariums. I also grabbed some red wigglers to feed my pets and on the receipt I paid for a 45 count of earthworms. Maybe I missed something and it was my fault for not checking but I was genuinely confused after purchasing. This review is for the grooming department. First impression was how awful it smelled. Like feces and stagnant air. I was greeted very nicely by a girl who stated she was not my dogs groomer. My dogs groomer wasn't there. Weird, but I sent my dog back anyway. They advised it would be "at least an hour", which was fine. 20 minutes later I was called that my dog was finished. Pleasantly surprised, I went to pick him up. I walked in and stood there for 5 minutes before a lady I had not seen before rudely asked what I wanted. I advised I was there to pick up my dog, she printed my receipt and told me to pay first. I went to pay and was shocked at the additional "supplies fee". In my opinion, just charge what the thing costs and stop adding "fees" to everything. But then they ask if you want to tip. Which is weird considering I had not even met the groomer, nor had I seen my dog. When I go back to get him the lady asks "which dog" and "what color was his collar". Strange questions considering he was only there for 25 minutes. I take my dog home and notice he is just not acting right. There was discharge comping from both eyes. Yellow puss looking discharge. Also his eyes were very bloodshot. I then check his stomach and see trauma to his whole underbelly. Red welts and bruises. I can only imagine what my sweet pup had to go through. I was just there at this location. I was almost attacked by a dog in a "training session" as I was just walking by. No warning, instead of an apology on the aggressive, barking, biting dog I was treated with disrespect about how could I not see theyre in training, when asked the woman in charge of training her name she wouldnt tell me. went up to customer service, they were just as clueless. if you're dog is that aggressive, Petcos 3rd party service shouldn't be triaining and petco should not be allowing those types of animals to be into the store. Very disappointed with this location... i had rescheduled my appointment several weeks in advance, then the morning of my scheduled appointment was told the groomer was not available and was offered a 25% off discount for my next grooming appointment assured Id get a phone call with a time to reschedule. I called to follow up as I had not heard anything and was told that the grooming department was busy so they'd call me back. Never heard a word and followed up several hours later and left a voicemail message. I have not received any kind of contact whatsoever. This location has gone downhill and I will never be returning to this Petco going forward. I don't know how the grooming department is still getting customers when they cancel, don't follow up with rescheduling options and are very unprofessional. we went into petco at exactly 2pm and waited around for about 15 minutes before i went and asked for help. the lady told us "someones back there right now helping with fish already" when there wasn't. so another 10 minutes goes by and I have to ask for help again and all three of their workers are up at the front and only one of them is on the phone. and so I asked for help again and they gave me a hand gesture saying hold on. so we go back to the fish area and wait, and there's this couple who comes in around 20 minutes after us and the manager who was supposed to help us goes and helps the couple that just walked in. when it's been about 30 minutes since we've been waiting for help and we already knew what fish we wanted had it picked out we were just waiting for someone to get it for us. Mind you the couple did not buy anything. They were just sitting there talking to the manager the entire time while we had to wait there while they were talking. so I complained when he finally stopped talking to those people and I said "it took you 30 minutes to help us, but then you help the people who got here after us after I asked for your help twice and you just ignored us" and all he told us was that he wasn't paying attention to who was asking for help at the front when two of his workers definitely saw us. we buy saltwater fish from there at least once a week and he knows us and he knows us. He even said he would order some fish for us to come in knowing that we are minors. But since we compliant, he ID us and told us we had never sold fish to us. we have about 5 of their corals and lots of fish from there. Super bad customer service and super bad paying attention to your customers maybe get a bell or a button to push to know when your customers were there waiting in the fish section for 30 minutes. read more

While I was waiting for my Vetco appointment another customer cut in front of me in line. The young lady checking me in corrected this right away. The veterinarian was not available due to an emergency situation. All of the customers waiting thanked the staff and wished them well, except line cutter. She demanded the manager. I wish I stayed long enough to see her freak out because this week there was a new sign about not tolerating aggression towards staff. Most people write reviews to complain. If I could give them a lower score I would. I had an appointment at vetco in this store at 5:55pm. I texted to confirm and in the website they stated they would call before. No call before happens and I go in 1 minute after my appointment and some male employee is so rude and states they left for the day and they would of called me. I have no calls and I tell him that confused to his reply being "Well I can't make them come back." The service sucks here and to be so blatantly rude when they inconvenienced me is insane. I have been a loyal Local Fish Store customer for years until 8/16/22. I had several questions about my betta fish and called a few LFS and no one was able to answer my questions. So I decided to call this Petco and Zach answered my phone call. He was able to give me amazing advice and was super friendly. I actually wasn't planning on buying anything but he had such great recommendations that I had to buy a few things. The two Betta that I have now are thriving because of Zach's recommendations. He gave me the best customer service I have had in a long time and I am extremely grateful. I will definitely be returning to this Petco from now on read more

Brought two cats here today with 2 separate appointments and one was a kitten found outside and another was a cat adopted from the humane society who just needed his rabies shot and a test for feline leukemia. They tried to put my cat on the floor when there were dogs there barking and running around by my cat. There's no reason to unnecessarily stress out cats and there were a few of them stressed out because of the staffs incompetency and dogs running around barking and not being controlled by their owners. Refused to do anything for the kitten that I've had for four days because they said that I needed to know more about his characteristics which is completing and utter nonsense. Verified that with two other vets that they've never said that and they've never even heard of someone saying something that ridiculous. Kittens should be vaccinated and tested as soon as possible especially when they were found with fleas on them and it's clear they're over 8 weeks. Lacy was ridiculously unprofessional and so was the vet Ruiz. Ruiz was the one babbling about characteristics. Congratulations Ruiz for making sure that a kitten spends more time in isolation unnecessarily. Completely unprofessional. There is no reason to be this disorganized and incompetent. Not a good location for cats or nervous dogs because it's open and unorganized. And of course I already have another vet appointment set up for the kitten. Ruiz putting animals in danger and wasting time because he's egotistical and incompetent is gross. At the very least that little kitten who is over eight weeks old should've been treated for fleas and my other cat and this vet refused because he could not handle someone saying it's not OK to place cats on the floor when you have dogs running around because their owners aren't controlling them. read more

Took my puppers to get groomed today & I can't say enough great things about our first experience. I called this morning to make an appointment for Tuesday but they were able to get us in today! Oakley was so happy when I picked her up & they did an AMAZING job on her nails, her nails were getting so bad & the place we normally would take her too was just becoming careless so I was so happy picking her up seeing they took such good care of her and Rebecca who helped us was just so sweet! Sadly it was not a good experience. I work 5days a week, 10 hour days and my dog has diarrhea. He hasn't eaten anything out of the normal. So I urgently ordered medicine n true pets wet food and a cuddle stuffy for gizmo.it said it would be here between noon and 3pm today. Mind you I leave for work about 5pm-ish. And I go to check order status and it says cancelled. I chat with them n they say they can place another order. I called other stores and it is not normal and it gets in the food. The staff is very rude and disrespectful telling me I should have my dog on a grain free diet but my vet says otherwise. I love Petco - and this particular one is better than some others I have been to. Clean store - awesome staff who seem sincere when they help you. I never have to look far if I have a question. The Health Department needs to inspect this grooming salon inside of Petco. There is no air circulation nor sanitary practices followed. Please do not bring your pet to this groomer under any circumstances. Go inside the grooming salon and try to take a deep breath... there is a pungent stench and lack of oxygen. Dogs refuse to go in. I'm going to highly recommend not using Vetco ever. They have canceled my appointment twice and my dog was scheduled for her booster today. They cancelled the appt and was told I could call another store to make an appt to come in. I did so and they said I could come by before 4pm. I drove 30 min to said alternate location arrived at 1 pm and proceeded to wait in lines only to be told sorry they were going to lunch and I had to wait and hour for them to come back. It's Father's Day and we have plans. I've already re arranged everything to come over to that store because we are going on vacation and our dog needed a booster. Vets are booked out two weeks if not more. I explained all of this and spoke with the manager who talked to the vet who couldn't postpone lunch by 2 min to give my dog her shot for an appointment their company already cancelled!!!! She walked right out . I was very angry saying it was Father's Day and we had plans and the Vetco employee shouted to me that he had plans too. Never again going here or to Petco. Cancelling all my orders for our 3 dogs and cat. I've also filed a complaint with corporate Vetco but of course have not been contacted. These people are worthless. read more

Fantastic experience!!! Not sure how there can be so many negative reviews, but I absolutely love this place and the employees. The grooming department is phenomenal. My dog is always a nervous wreck getting his nails trimmed, but the staff there are so kind and quick with him. Rebecca in grooming is amazing!! Kindest dog groomer I have ever met. You can tell how much she loves the animals. My mom had her dog groomed by her recently as well, and she gave her the cutest haircut and put a some adorable bows in her hair. The rest of the staff was just as kind and helpful. We walked around the store with our dogs afterwards and it was very clean. I love the dog waste cleaning stations they have. So handy in case the dogs have any accidents. They also have an excellent selection for dog and cat supplies! This is the only place I will go to for my pet needs from now on. Highly recommend, especially for grooming. Can't beat the quality you get for such a good cost. read more

I have been going to this Petco for five years because the staff is usually so helpful and friendly. Yesterday I took my dog in for his eyes to be cleaned up and a sanitary clean up. When I picked up my dog I discovered that the new "manager" in grooming decided it was a good idea to shave my dogs whole head. She left his body intact and the result is that my dog looks like he has cancer. I was so upset I called the manager and was told that it would be made right but to wait until the next day so I could have a different groomer do the work. When I went in today to have my dog "fixed" I was told that they could do nothing for me but offer me a discount to have him completely shaved to fix the bad cut. I of course refused because I should not have to pay another fifty dollars to correct the new groomers mistake and was told that there was nothing that they could do. This is such terrible customer service. They should rectify the damage that they have done to my dog and I cannot believe that they would even let a dog leave the store looking that bad. As it does not speak well for their "talents". I let the manager know that we would not be returning for any further grooming or store purchases. (We spend a lot of money there) and left. I have been in customer service for years and I just cannot believe the way that we were treated or the way that the situation was handled. I have every intention of elevating my concerns to corporate level but wanted other consumers to know about the bad service. DO NOT take your dog there unless you want them to look terrible! I've been taking my Shitzu to Petco for years and Regina has been his regular groomer. Now that he is a senior, and blind. I wouldn't trust anyone else to take care of him. It's a fairly nice Petco. I think it needs a little updating but other then that I do like this location. All the employees are very friendly and helpful. I went in there today to look around since I'm apart of the Pet Perks card and I had a $5 off coupon. The lady in the fish section was really helpful. I needed some MTS for my assassin snails. They are not the type of snail you'd want in a tank but I need to feed my guys. She ended up giving me a lot of them since they don't want them. And no charge! Now I should be able to keep everyone fed and hopefully they will continue to reproduce! The bettas did need some attention. Their water was very gross and dis colored. That's the reason I didn't give 5 stars. read more

Came here to get some pet treats using a buy one get one offer that Petco had emailed me. When first entering the store, it smelled like dog and dog food. Not a good smell in the 100 degree heat of summer. Got the treats I wanted and then there was an issue with the coupon, but the manager fixed the issue in reasonable time. So, no issues with the customer service. The store itself just seemed outdated, not kept up, and dirty. I think if they would clean it up, it would be a more pleasant shopping experience. read more

Walked around the entire store looking for a clerk to check out and do a return today on my lunch hour. Found one single employee at the back of the store on his cell phone. He then told me he was on lunch and I should look in the front office for someone. Sure enough 2 girls sitting in the front office who looked very annoyed I would interrupt them and expect someone to be working the floor and/or register. Needless to say, I'll never come here again. I brought in my dog today to pick up some dog food and had a very horrible experience with the cashier clerk. While I was waiting in line I had corrected my dog to sit, he didn't, I pulled his leash and he is wearing a prong collar, he yelped, and then I had him sit. He got up from his sit and I told him to sit again, which he didn't, so corrected him again, and he yelped. I proceeded to check out and I could tell the cashier wasn't happy about it and upset with me for correcting him and hearing his bark/cry. I told her thank you after she gave me receipt and she ignored me with a disgusted look on her face. Another cashier came over and asked if she was okay, and then I asked if she was upset with me on how I was correcting my dog, which I explained to her I had hired a professional dog trainer (who has been a trainer for 10+yrs), that was very pricey and I didn't think he would train the dog in harmful way. She told me I was going to damage his trachea with the kind of prong collar I have on him, which PetCo sells at their location. We had our words and I walked out feeling like a dog murder. She has every right to have her opinion, but as an employee of the store, that sells the product, she should have never expressed it to me by her disrespectful demeanor or giving me her medical opinion of what wasn't good for my dog, that is sold by the store!! read more

Sorry, but the grooming in this location sucks. I'm not much of a complainer but damn, I paid $55 for my Yorkie and I was not satisfied at all. First of all, they didn't really grind my dog's nails as much as they can. If I'm gonna pay that much I would expect it to be grinded nicely. However, I would let that go though and wouldn't write this review IF they didn't cut my dog's ears. 2 days after coming back from the groomer I noticed there were wounds on both of them. That is not acceptable!!! Luckily, they're healing now and it's not too bad. But I'm definitely not coming back here anymore. For such a high price I expect a good quality groom but unfortunately this is not the place to get that. read more
