I had a groomer appointment for 3 weeks. Two days ago I called and left a message because nobody answers the phone. I asked if the puppy had his shots but not a rabies vaccine, would they still do it. The petco vet would not give him the vaccine because he is too small. Under 3 lbs. no one called back so a 50 mile trip for nothing was made. People it's a phone call.!!!! read more

Got lied to by a groomer and treated poorly on Mother's Day at the Morgantown store. The assistant manager had a smug attitude even knowing we have been bringing our two dogs there for over 6 years to get them groomed and we have been paying $35 dollars a month for vital came. She didn't care. Done with mediocre groomers with attitudes, won't ever be going back. I suggest spending your money elsewhere. read more

Melanie trimmed my 3lb chihuahua's nails today and it was the BEST her nails have EVER been trimmed!!!! We have lived in 4 different states and been to countless groomers and this was the best her nails have ever looked. This petco location blew my socks off. The reptile/fish selection was extensive and beautiful. Although, I wish the employees helped me out with a question I had. The chameleons were spotted white and I searched why this happens. According to google it's because their enclosure is not humid enough and I was wondering if this was the case! Hopefully not, but besides that I enjoyed my time here and would come back for sure. read more

I have brought my puppy to this Petco since I got her, which is a little over a year, and she has been groomed at least three times and has had her nails trimmed at least three other times in the span of a year. That makes for a total of six visits minimum to the grooming salon at this location, however when I arrived today for my appointment to get her groomed we were turned away. Apparently they are not allowed to admit animals to the grooming salon if they are on any kind of medication, including any anxiety medicine. My puppy is on a slight anxiety medication just because she's a little skittish, and she's been on this medication since the week that I got her. Every time that I visited the grooming salon in the past year they ask if she's on any medication and they tell them what she's on and they take her back after I sign a paper. Apparently the policy about not admitting animals on anxiety medication has not changed, yet they refused to groom her today because of her medication. Very frustrated with the people in the salon, they were unhelpful and one was very rude. The manager of the overall store was kind but unable to help at all, or to provide me with any of the papers that I've signed in the past that have her medication listed on them. I simply don't understand what has changed since the last time she has been groomed, because it apparently it is not their policy and it definitely is not my dogs medication. Probably will never use this location again for grooming. read more

This Petco is smaller than some, but generally has a good selection. Sometimes they're stock is our or low on popular products (e.g.. cat foods and cat litter). They do pet adoptions each week or so. The workers usually are friendly and try to be helpful. They have a pet coach on duty some of the time, which is neat. read more

arrived for my regular monthly appointment yesterday and was refused service due to a small med. vet said there was no reason not to be groomed. have been coming here for years with no problems and had temporary meds in the past. groomers have all said she was a sweetheart to work with. she still needs a bath and at 88 i'm unable to do it. university town center petco has seen the last of me or any of my friends. read more

The Grooming part has some rude staff especially one of the men he was really rude as for the manager I was standing there waiting for my turn and he was checking out a customer the manager was standing right beside him as the customer left with her two dogs the man said have a nice day as she was exiting she said you to when the door closed he said dumb bitch!!! And the manager didn't say anything just smiled and looked at me and said how can I help you when I looked at the cashier he smiled when I didn't smile back he rolled his eyes and with an attitude proceed to ask me my name and my dogs names I honestly was sicken by this and if he can smile and then In front of other ppl not care to say mean things what is he doing to the animals in the back???? I would say this is one of the nicest pet stores I've been to. The animals are always in vary good conditions and the staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. This place has a large variety of reptiles,fish,birds,and rodents. But despite the large variety of animals I honestly can't say I've seen an unhealthy animal here. Cages are always clean and never too crowded. I'd love to give this place more stars if I could. read more

I've had multiple experiences with petco. My most memorable is when a worker told me that betta fish couldn't be kept with any other fish, and that they couldn't even have plants because they were simply too aggressive. Anyone who knows anything about betta fish will tell you that they are a lovely addition to a community tank of compatible fish. I would also like to warn you all to NOT buy reptiles from here. Despite some of the workers being very knowledgeable, the company condones improper care for their reptiles. The best example is how they are kept. They keep bearded dragons and different geckos on sand, and even recommend that their customers do the same. Sand could be deadly for these little guys. Please do your own research before buying a new pet. Do not trust the employees here to help you with proper set up. I'm not bashing the employees by any means because most of them are super kind and try to go out of their way to help you, however they are taught by the store that these conditions are okay when they are most definitely not. read more
