Out of all Petco's this is the best one :) I take my dog here for Grooming and I love the customer service. Mason is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. He always makes sure to leave my dog clean, nails trimmed nicely and I can tell that he takes his job serious and enjoys it. This place has terrible customer service. My son and I came in excited to purchase a fish, but we stood by the fish tanks waiting for assistance for over 40 minutes and no one offered to help us. Eventually, an employee finally acknowledged us, only to tell us they were closing and could no longer assist us. I explained that we had arrived before closing and had already been waiting for 40 minutes, but all I received was a simple "Sorry, we're closed." The entire experience was extremely disappointing and frustrating. The lack of customer service completely ruined what should have been a fun experience for my son and me. We left without the fish we came to purchase and feeling like our time didn't matter. This occurred on June 14, 2026, between approximately 7:20 PM and 8:10 PM. We get our dogs groomed here. They always have openings that helps us out greatly but they way overcharge for our 15 lb doodle. They also, missed things on her that they should have caught. read more

The WORST of the WORST pet store experience! The two front desk customer service ladies who I talked to should be FIRED immediately! They texted me 10 times to confirm my pet vaccination appointment and they had to call me when I was driving and on the way there to ask me if I could come in earlier, and caused me to miss the exit, so I had to drive far to the next exit and turn around which causing me to be 5 minutes late than the appointment time , I called them to explain, but they CANCELED my appointment over the phone just like that while I was driving there with my pet. Do they have any common sense and do they have any basic understanding as a normal person?! read more

Went into this location with my 5 year old and 7 month old puppy to buy products to help train him to stop pulling on the leash. I walked in and was greeted by a female cashier and a man standing behind her at the registers. I said hello then said "Walter stop" because he was pulling on his leash.(which is why I was there) I saw her turn to the man standing behind her and make a face and a few seconds later when she thought I was out of earshot immediately start saying "did you hear her telling him to stop? What the f**k." The man responded with just "yeah" which at that point I told my son we are leaving. At no point was I being aggressive towards my puppy, simply giving a command absentmindedly. I was in that location for less than 2 minutes. I got a snarky "have a nice night!" As I was walking out. Obviously they could see I was struggling and in that store for help with the right products and instead I was greeted with mean girl behavior. I called the manager who turned out to be the man she was talking to and he gave a very passive "yeah sorry about that. I've already talked to her." I'm sure I'm not the first person that has been met with mean and nasty behavior by the cashier, probably just the first one to be standing right in earshot and heard it. Love this location! Staff is nice, helpful and the shelves are well stocked. I've never had any issues with the grooming department. They are always professional, friendly and do a great job! I'm very disappointed. I've lived in Murrieta for over 4 years now and I've always been going to Petco to shop, visit the animals, grooming appointments, and training. Within the past month every time we buy a fish it dies within days in our tank. Our tank is already established and never has this happened before. We brought 2 fish from petco and both had died. And these fish were brought on different dates. A couple days ago I had an 8am grooming appointment. I got there at 7:56am and waiting in the car because it looked like the employees were still arriving. One family went in a little after 8am, so I went to the door at 8:03am one of the employees saw me waiting outside. Eye contact and all even smiled. I waited until 8:25am and decided to leave and as I'm driving away I got a text about my appointment but no one opened the door. I wasn't going to drive back. There was even another incident involving a reptile which is not surprising. Shopping here is very different now. No one even greets you anymore. It's very sad. read more

If I could put one zero, I went there looking for a kitten. The cats were spread all over the floor next to the dogs being trained. It was very loud the dogs were banging on the door. The cats were lying on the floor, scared. The people were very rude to top it off, I would not recommend I would go to Hueys in Temecula or the Ramona animal shelter zero stars read more

Grooming service is horrible, HUGE mistake in trying out this Murrieta location. Starting from the check in for my 7 lb. Chihuahua Pomeranian baby that I get groomed every month with a lion cut. Ciera stood away 3 feet from my dog and did not try to pet him or warm up to my pup to do the check in. Instead, she proceeded to take him behind the counter and drag him by the neck with the leash to the back room with the cages. This breed is prone to trachea collapse, after her cold demeanor with him there is no way I'd ever trust him with her nor will I ever be back at this Petco location. Needless to say, I had him immediately groomed at the Temecula location instead, where he has always been well taken care of. TEMECULA Petco has always been so wonderful to my baby, and even Petsmart Murrieta NOT Petco Murrieta. Avoid Petco Murrieta at all costs if you want your furbaby to be HUMANELY treated. Ciera needs to be trained in how to properly warm up to dogs and be careful to NOT drag them with the leash when certain breeds are already susceptible to being severely injured by improper care. read more

Very very poor costumer service. We paid to get our dog bathed and brushed and when we brought him home noticed he had dreads on his stomach and was never actually brushed. When I called the salon they were extremely rude on the phone and told me that because I didn't pay for the extra package they don't brush out dreads. This has never been the case. Ever. The groomers need to be trained in treating other humans with respect and kindness on the phone. We will not be returning or referring others to this location. read more

I've been to this location many times and each time I always have an issue with waiting. For anything, to be checked out, for a discount from a manager, for fish, crickets. I don't mind waiting, where it becomes a problem is when I have to go up multiple times and ask for someone to help me and hear "I'm not sure where they are let me page them again". Today I was reminded why I don't come to this one, not only did they have one poor girl running the register with a line but when she called for a manager to get a code no one came and more people filled the line. Got to a point where I said forget it I'll pay full price because it's not fair to her or the rest of people in line to wait for a manager who didn't care less. Awesome little Petco! I came in to get some primo kibble for my kitty who somehow after being saved from living under a bush in Coronado developed a taste for high end chow. I mean seriously, how did I let that happen?!? Oh well, like any cat slave when her kibbs got low I got my rump to the store ASAP. I was a little worried at first because it was smaller looking than others I've been to. However I was delighted to find that they had a huge selection of cat items. I was able to pick up my fancy kibble (naw it's cool, to afford it I'll just eat ramen a couple times a week) and a new cat bed that I can now peer over my iPad and see sitting in a corner totally ignored. Such are kitties. They carry birds and adoptable felines. I went over to say hello to them and fell in love. Check those cats out! One even had a leopard look! Fierce! I just want to say thank you to Ciera for always taking great care of my Bentley. She's been grooming him for almost a year now, and he does great with her. I have two other dogs who go to a mobile groomer and my Bentley just wasn't having it! So I decided to take him to Ciera who takes care of him every time! He's not very much of a people person but loves her! Bentley also has seizures and Ciera is always so great with making sure that he's in and out! If she has cancellations she does her best to get him in sooner, if possible! If you are unsure of who to bring your fur baby to, Ciera is who you should go to! I have been taking my dogs to petco murrieta for awhile and it is by far the best place I have ever gotten my dogs groomed at! The staff is so nice and makes my dogs feel comfortable! Their grooms always look great and our favorite groomer is CIERA. She knows her stuff and my dogs automatically took to her! Not Service Dog Friendly!! So disappointed in this Petco store today. Manager made me leave because I have a service dog in training. My special needs daughter was working with our dog and asked our dog to sit, to stay and wait at the door and manager felt that was in direct conflict with the service dog training they provide. So ridiculous. She felt I should have asked her permission to train my dog in her store. By the way, I don't need any more permission then the rest of the people there asking their dogs to sit and stay. Petco - please educate your managers and employees on the rights of service dog owners. There were other owners in that store giving their dogs the same commands but she admitted she specially asked us to leave because our dog was a service dog in training. I tried to explain she can't kick us out simply because we have a service dog but she was adamant that she is allowed to. Told me to educate myself on the law and that we were never welcome back in her store. I should have called the police but didn't want to create any more of a scene in front of my daughter. I left very upset by the whole experience! read more

VETCO CLINIC on Sundays: DO NOT USE!!!! Came w/ my 2yr old healthy cat. Next day her leg was swollen, she couldn't walk on leg & was limping, was dehydrated & wasn't eating. Went to our regular vet, found out the Vet when taking cat's blood from inside ankle (unheard of), got cat on other leg at nerve sight as she moved. She got sick from addt'l preservatives in Vetco's vaccines. Cat needed fluids, pain meds & has to be monitored by vet staff due to this clinic's unprofessional knowledge. Unbelievable! read more
