I'm not one for posting reviews, but I have to send a huge shout out to trainer Julie! What a…read moregreat experience working with her. She is so very knowledgeable and good with the dogs. She made our classes fun and engaging, while teaching the fur moms n dads how to properly communicate with our pups. (Which we ALL need). So helpful. We are looking forward to our next round of classes, also bootcamp with Julie is outstanding! Thank you Julie. You are truly an asset to Smarty Paws. Joelle n Kobie

I've had such a great experience with Smarty Paws so far. Stormi and I have been going for about…read morefive months now, and the progress I've seen has been incredible. Julie has been our trainer for obedience and e-collar, and she is truly amazing. She's extremely knowledgeable, explains everything in a way that's easy to understand, and always takes time during every class to work one-on-one with each dog and owner. You can tell she genuinely cares and wants every dog to succeed. She's also very down-to-earth, easy to talk to, and the dogs absolutely love her. Stormi is a husky, so she can definitely be stubborn and sometimes act like she doesn't understand English when she actually does. Julie really understands the breed (she has several huskies herself), which has made a huge difference. Since starting classes, Stormi's leash walking has improved the most, and she's listening to me so much better instead of barking back at me like she used to... as much. Huskies definitely still have opinions, but the improvement has been huge. I've also noticed a big boost in her confidence. So far we've completed E-Collar, Obedience 1, 2, and 3, and I'm already looking forward to continuing with Obedience 4 and eventually service dog training. One thing I really appreciate is how well Julie works with all kinds of dogs in the class. There have been reactive dogs, anxious dogs, and even deaf dogs, and she does an amazing job helping each one improve. It's really cool seeing every dog make progress week after week. I also started agility with Amanda, and that has been such a fun experience too. Agility has been an awesome bonding activity for Stormi and me, and Amanda does a great job keeping the classes engaging and supportive. I actually found Smarty Paws because I met someone at the dog park whose dog was incredibly well trained compared to Stomri, and they told me this is where they went. I'm really glad they recommended it to me, because it has been such a positive experience. The trainers are knowledgeable, energetic, and genuinely passionate about helping dogs and their owners succeed. Stormi and I both look forward to class every week, and I'm really glad we found this place. Highly recommend!

AJ is amazing!!! I highly recommend!!!! AJ is such a…read morewonderful trainer. We found her when we brought a new Aussie puppy home, already having a three year old border collie. There were a few problem behaviors we were able to work on right away. Jumping, sitting, and overall listening. AJ is extremely great with our dogs. They are excited to see her every session, and happy to work hard for her. AJ is not only a great dog trainer but also a teacher to us humans. She helped us learn the tools we needed for our dogs to be successful. After 8 sessions our dogs are doing great with door manners, a long stay, coming when called and more. She has taught us fun games that allow the dogs to use their noses to find scents, while also tiring them out. I recommend AJ to anyone in need of help with dogs who already are great, but have a few quirks to workout. And I highly recommend AJ to anyone with new pups in the house. She has made a huge difference for us, and our dogs as well as everyone's confidence!

**UPDATE** Our training journey with Nala started on…read more6/29/18 and we signed up for the 6 session lesson plan. Today is actually our 7th lesson (and still ongoing). I must stress that AJ is just not about training but more importantly she believes in Nala's well being. AJ created a bond with Nala, yet Nala is aware she is in training. AJ listened to our needs, and investigated our surroundings/situation. AJ prioritizes Nala's delicate insecurities. There are not many Trainers (or businesses) that go above and beyond the need to "sincerely help" and yet is still a professional. ie: AJ has accompanied us on numerous Vet visits; suggested Doggie Daycare, plus accompanied us on Nala 1st visit and ensured Nala's transition into socializing with other dogs. In which was a success! Nala is now at leash training status and people interaction. Stay tuned for further updates... Don't ponder... we still HIGHLY RECOMMEND AJ for your pet training needs!!!!

I wish there were more stars to give Denise - I would most certainly do so, if I could. When my…read morepartner and I were looking for a trainer for our dogs, we weren't blind to what our babies needed to succeed, but we didn't know how to go about it. Denise was the first trainer to write me back, and upon going onto her website and thumbtack account, I read all of the wonderful things that others had said about her - they're all true by the way. Denise sat down and listened to all of our concerns. We have a 1.5 year old rednose pitbull and a 2.5 year old akita/shepherd mix. Both our girls were rescues, and after a really ugly fight among each other, and our vet telling us that they'd NEVER be able to be around each other alone again, we knew we had to do something for them and for ourselves. Even just the consultation, we were able to see what the problem areas were and started a game plan. Five weeks later, and my dogs are almost unrecognizable, compared to before Denise came into our lives. Denise is kind, loving, and knowledgeable. I was so scared I was going to end up with a drill sergeant for a trainer, and that my dogs weren't going to respond to anything anyone said. BOY WAS I WRONG! Both of our dogs took to her and her direction so well - even our 8 year old mini schnauzer mini poodle started to take direction from her, and she wasn't even a focus. They listen better, they play better with one another, and most of all they're trusting us, as their owner's to show them the way, in everything that they do. We will be giving it a few months of trying to do some of our own follow through, and then more than likely touching base with Denise again for some more advanced training. I can't thank you enough, Denise. Thank you for showing us that we can love our dogs, while still providing structure. You have been nothing short of a miracle worker. In the above pictures, you'll be able to see some of our progress. We really hope that more dog owners will take the responsibility of getting the appropriate training that their fur-children need - if they can't do it themselves - and I wouldn't put my faith in anyone that isn't Denise.
