Super dogs now!
Hans F.

We needed help getting our furry roommates to dial in there behavior. We felt that they were pretty good, but we wanted them to display a calmer first impression and to better follow directions as well as reduce pulling on leash walking. Lamont 2yrs and Elroy 9months old were ready to go to task. Travis gave us and the dogs the training we needed to get to the next level. As well as training our dogs he coached us in how to get the best out of them. I can comfortably say we are 100% satisfied. We have the training to continue on our own and we can always refer back to Kings Corner if we need more help.

Travis is an amazing dog trainer who truly cares about his clients (dogs and humans). I made a last minute decision to rescue a dog that was on the transfer (euthanasia) list at the local shelter. The issue is I already had rescue dogs that had some behavioral issues and I when I met Zeus at the shelter, he was wild, sweet but wild. I knew it was going to be an issue introducing him to my pack. I started calling around for trainers and stumbled upon Kings Corner. I called Travis, fully expecting that he would not have openings in the near future, and i needed help asap. He listened to my issues and to my surprise had availability. We met the next day and he gave me hope that I could have a happy pack with this new dog. Travis took Zeus for 3 weeks and the difference is nothing short of amazing. Zeus walks like a gentleman, listens and is such a good dog. Travis' training has given Zeus confidence, and I would say the same for myself. While I understand that board and train is not possible for everyone, his cost was very reasonable for the amount of work he did with Zeus, and was well worth the investment. His fee was overall less expensive than other board and train trainers that I had contacted and he only works a few dogs at a time, so I knew my dog was in good hands. I highly recommend Travis and Kings Corner Dog Training.

Extremely disappointed with this grooming business and will absolutely be taking our dog elsewhere…read moremoving forward. Today, our appointment was canceled with roughly 15 minutes notice -- which of course we didn't even receive because we were already driving to the appointment when they called. This comes after our previous appointment where we sat waiting nearly 25 minutes past our scheduled time just to get our dog checked in. What's especially frustrating is that this business is extremely strict about requiring rabies vaccination records for new clients -- which is completely understandable and responsible -- yet somehow they don't actually keep those records on file afterward. So now that we're going elsewhere, they can't even provide us a copy of the records we already submitted. At this point, it just feels incredibly disorganized from a management/ownership standpoint. Two appointments in a row have either been significantly delayed or outright canceled, and there doesn't seem to be much regard for customers' time or convenience. Thankfully, there are plenty of groomers to choose from, so this really isn't the end of the world. It's just an odd way to run a business if the goal is to attract and retain loyal customers.

We were lucky to have found Taggs K9 dog training and was assigned to Simone. Simone did a fantastic job of redirecting our puppy of all of the concerns we were experiencing. It was stated in the beginning of the boarding that she is "not a miracle worker" however- it seems so. LOL She did an excellent job with explaining everything to the family so that we could all be on the same page. It really is up to the owners to do their part for the program to work. We are forever grateful for the way that we were treated as humans and for the love and care our puppy received. We learned so much from Simone. Thank you, Taggs K9! Thank you, Simone!

After Ken's board and train program Titus came back a new dog! Ken has also helped us and "trained" us on how to be better dog owners. It has been a night and day difference and we are so grateful!! Highly recommend Ken's services. Simone was also super helpful and through her in depth testing of foods and substances we discovered many things Titus had been eating or exposed to that he is intolerant of that we wouldn't have found out otherwise. One of which being some ingredients in the shampoo and conditioner we were using! With that change alone his dander is gone and he's much happier with less irritation. All around great experience and would highly recommend to anyone needing help with their dog!

There were a few problem behaviors we were able to work on right away. Jumping, sitting, and overall listening. AJ is extremely great with our dogs. They are excited to see her every session, and happy to work hard for her. AJ is not only a great dog trainer but also a teacher to us humans. She helped us learn the tools we needed for our dogs to be successful. After 8 sessions our dogs are doing great with door manners, a long stay, coming when called and more. She has taught us fun games that allow the dogs to use their noses to find scents, while also tiring them out. I recommend AJ to anyone in need of help with dogs who already are great, but have a few quirks to workout. And I highly recommend AJ to anyone with new pups in the house. She has made a huge difference for us, and our dogs as well as everyone's confidence!

I must stress that AJ is just not about training but more importantly she believes in Nala's well being. AJ created a bond with Nala, yet Nala is aware she is in training. AJ listened to our needs, and investigated our surroundings/situation. AJ prioritizes Nala's delicate insecurities. There are not many Trainers (or businesses) that go above and beyond the need to "sincerely help" and yet is still a professional. ie: AJ has accompanied us on numerous Vet visits; suggested Doggie Daycare, plus accompanied us on Nala 1st visit and ensured Nala's transition into socializing with other dogs. In which was a success! Nala is now at leash training status and people interaction. Stay tuned for further updates... Don't ponder... we still HIGHLY RECOMMEND AJ for your pet training needs!!!!

As long as you use the tools he gives you and practice them, you will be in great shape. He provides 3 group classes a week you can attend for extra help. It helped our dogs be around other dogs, it allows them to like and be around other humans as well. Dave doesn't force me or the dogs to do anything we do not feel comfortable doing. It does all depend with the owner or onwner's of the dog on how fast your dog will learn new habits and tricks. We recently adopted two older (Terrier) boy dogs that are maybe 7 and 8 years old the vets says. We also decided to get a 10 week girl pit bull at the time. One of the boys would try to attack the baby every time he saw her. I felt stuck and did not think my dogs would ever be in the same room, let alone even get along. Dave helped us with just a few at home lessons and now they are inseparable!! They play, tease and steal eachother's bones everyday. If you have any trouble with your dog and want to have control, I would highly recommend Sit Means Sit training with David Heck. Dave, I cannot say thank you enough for your support, guidance, patients and great advice whenever we don't understand or feel stuck with our dogs.

Be pateint with yourself and your dog Key note: Dave & collar is most important tool I have ever worked with. My first experience was that I was scared of it and that I was going to hurt my dog after some time Dave could see that i was struggling with this and helped me out, I got over it real quick because I couldn't see results in my dog or myself I finally had to get a strong mind and realize I was not going to hurt my dog but I had to use the collar properly. My experience training with Dave has been amazing and I have surely seen the results in my dog Leo. I take great pride in training him and making him a better pet I am truly pleased with all our work that Dave has shared with us! I feel very confindent with my boy now and i have moved to off leash training. Proud mommy

Julie has been our trainer for obedience and e-collar, and she is truly amazing. She's extremely knowledgeable, explains everything in a way that's easy to understand, and always takes time during every class to work one-on-one with each dog and owner. You can tell she genuinely cares and wants every dog to succeed. She's also very down-to-earth, easy to talk to, and the dogs absolutely love her. Stormi is a husky, so she can definitely be stubborn and sometimes act like she doesn't understand English when she actually does. Julie really understands the breed (she has several huskies herself), which has made a huge difference. Since starting classes, Stormi's leash walking has improved the most, and she's listening to me so much better instead of barking back at me like she used to... as much. Huskies definitely still have opinions, but the improvement has been huge. I've also noticed a big boost in her confidence. So far we've completed E-Collar, Obedience 1, 2, and 3, and I'm already looking forward to continuing with Obedience 4 and eventually service dog training. One thing I really appreciate is how well Julie works with all kinds of dogs in the class. There have been reactive dogs, anxious dogs, and even deaf dogs, and she does an amazing job helping each one improve. It's really cool seeing every dog make progress week after week. I also started agility with Amanda, and that has been such a fun experience too. Agility has been an awesome bonding activity for Stormi and me, and Amanda does a great job keeping the classes engaging and supportive. I actually found Smarty Paws because I met someone at the dog park whose dog was incredibly well trained compared to Stomri, and they told me this is where they went. I'm really glad they recommended it to me, because it has been such a positive experience. The trainers are knowledgeable, energetic, and genuinely passionate about helping dogs and their owners succeed. Stormi and I both look forward to class every week, and I'm really glad we found this place. Highly recommend!
