Found out from an employee that their friend left That Aquarium Place due to poor customer service & their return policy was stupid and flawed. Will be doing business now only with Petco or PetsMart from now on regarding buying fish because I know every betta fish I have bought from them have always lived 6 months or more. Not died within a week of having them or experienced a seizure. And the people doing the pet adoptions are always so sweet as well. Just stopped by to purchase a rare ball python i've had my eye on for a few weeks (400$ snake btw) and upon asking multiple people for help with it all i got was a "i don't do snakes". You work at a PET store, and nobody can open up a cage to let me buy a snake????I get it there's certain people that handle the reptiles but you should be doing more then just shooing me away because you can't. If you don't know how to groom a Pomeranian, just say so, don't butcher its hair cut and destroy its coat in the process because you can't be honest with yourself. Yall should be honestly embarrassed about this haircut. I specifically said ONLY SCISSORS and you charged me a premium for only scissors, but you clearly used clippers. I'm upset they made me pay and tip before even seeing her, I want to cry, her coat was so beautiful and healthy. Some coats never recover from clippers, you should never shave a double coated dog. I honestly don't recommend the grooming salon. Or the store!! Brandy is a very rude person and she's very dramatic and loves to make something small a huge problem. She will BAN you for no reason! I don't understand why she's a grooming manager!! The only person that I trust with my dog will be silvia. She's so nice and very kind with my dog. She does a GREAT job! I took my dog here to be groomed today. Upon picking him up, he looked fine but when we got home I noticed some problems. He still had a small dingleberry on his butt and none of the tiny dirt balls under his chin had been taken care of. I had to do both of these things when I got home. I went to Petco in Spring today to have my dog groomed, and was told by the manager, Brandy, that I needed a letter from the vet since she is a 12-year-old cocker spaniel. She said there were notes in the computer that I was told this on the last appointment, which I definitely was not, that was the first that I had heard of it. Brandy was very rude, insisting that I had been told that, And I insisted that I had not, so she said well I am Brandy the manager, and now I am telling you. I said I will not have her groomed there now, and she sarcastically said OK, well have a nice day. She was very rude and has cost them all of my business. read more

This is calls for a complimentary lesson in customer service from a business development executive! MANAGERS TAKE NOTE! I would be more than happy to work with your staff. I made 3 calls to work out the scheduling to have my two dogs groomed. I was asked on the phone if I was a new customer and I replied "I was." They took my name, the dogs information for their records. The staff and I were discussing the scheduling. I called multiple times to work out the details and spoke to a different person each time who acknowledged I was a new customer. When I arrive to my appointment, I apologized for being 5 mins late because I was running to take them in between work. I was asked the age of my dogs. I was told they "would not be taking my older dog since he was a new customer but they would be able to tack the younger one." I asked them to make an acceptation since I was not told or asked on the phone. I had a tight Schedule and I had to get back to work. I had already explained I was rushing when I arrived. She asked the manager/supervisor who told me now because the dog had a "heart murmur" they couldn't groom him. (The supervisor/manager said without even looking at any medical records and neither is she a vet.) I told her my dog doesn't have a heart murmur. No vet every told me that so not sure where she got that from. She just saw me and my dogs for the first time. Then she said my dog couldn't stand up. (I had carried him in ...FYI he had cataracts that move around. She didn't ask) I told him he was obvious standing up when I brought him in. She says standing could cause dramatic problems and bring out other issues...."The dog could die on the grooming table"! My dog just got groomed 3 weeks earlier!!! She volunteered to tell me, they could groom the other senior dog! I told her WHY would I leave one dog and take them to two separate groomers AND give them any money since they didn't care enough about my time to train the staff to ask the appropriate questions! They had been recommended by a friend! This was the second time I tried to make appointment to try them out. The first time, it was too much of a lead time to get on the schedule. This time I waited to get on the schedule looking forward to seeing how they did. Lesson: if it is the staff's inconsistency to attend to customer ESPECIALLY a new customer. Something should be offered as compensation for their time. Anything would be appreciated. Even a question what could we do to make this up for you considering we can't make an exception!. Saying you will talk about it to the staff doesn't mean anything to the customer who is just gone out of her way any was not going to be late to work costing money since now that dogs had to be returned home) Perhaps offer to groom the other dog complimentary or at 50% off. Offer a letter of apology. Post boldly on website, app and by the phone so staff remember to ask. Have a required electronic field that must be checked prior to the staff member being able to book the appointment. NOTE: they told me multiple times to make sure I had rabies shots on the phone! Bottomline: I think it's total discrimination to not see a dog based on age alone if you feel you have to set a limit. Older dogs need grooming too. My dog is not on any medication and just seen a vet last month for his annual check up. I can't attest to you policy BUT I DO ATTEST TO YOUR METHODS!!! You could have saved a future customer by handling with care! Maybe in the future coming back for different services. Now it showed you didn't value the customer. When you are in your staff meetings you may want to consider what to do when situations don't agree with your policy and how to make honorable and respectful treatment. It's easy to handle when things go well! You come out as pure gold when you handle when things get sticky! Plan in advance!!! Remember a good experience will call for few people being told. FYI a bad experience travels fast and wide. Learn to accommodate for customer relations. Read the book THE DISNEY WAY! read more

I take my dog to get her nails trimmed every time I go to the store to pick up a bag of food. I could order online (and save some cash), but I like to support stores close by - especially if they have a groomer. Petco generally allows walk-ins for a simple nail trim. But this is the third time I've been turned away. Last time they said Saturday's are too busy to accept walk-ins, and this time they said I would have to wait 35 minutes because there was an appointment coming in soon. The girl was literally just waiting around! The nail trim would have only taken 2 minutes. It felt like she purposefully didn't want to help. Petco needs to wake up and realize that a big source of their store income is from customers coming from the salon and ensure better customer service. I'm yet another customer who will now be purchasing all my pets needs online. read more

I came to this store just a few days or so ago to pick up a few things and set up an appointment for my Aussie to be groomed. Let me preface this by saying my Chloe is in her golden years and has recently lost the majority of her sight. This has caused her to become very anxious in general and slightly more difficult to care for considering her condition. First of all let me say that the help I received at this particular location was above anything I've experienced at any pet store. The people here were incredibly helpful and welcoming! Ariana was extremely kind to me and explained exactly what I needed to do. She was very loving towards Chloe (my Aussie) which I really appreciated. She walked me over to the counter to set an appointment and get me the appropriate help I needed. The girl with red hair and tattoos (sorry I didn't get her name I wish I knew it to give her a proper review) was super helpful because I've never had Chloe professionally groomed. I've always done it myself but it's become increasingly difficult over the years. The girl helped me set up the appointment and explained how everything worked and the type of care and special accommodations Chloe would receive. This process was so easy for us. It was nice to have someone who actually took pride in their job other than just any worker in a store pressing buttons. Then came tome for Chloe's appointment. The groomer made sure my baby was comfortable and calm during the whole process and was so gentle and loving towards her. It was so comforting to me seeing Chloe so calm. After the appointment Chloe looked wonderful! Her coat was so silky and beautiful and it was so fantastic to see her all squeaky clean! I'm really looking forward to bringing any of my animals to this particular store. I honestly couldn't even think I'd be able take them anywhere else! I made an appointment at their grooming department. The appointment was set and confirmed for 8 am on Sunday. No one ever showed up, I waited for around 20-25 minutes called local groomer to see if anyone could take 2 large dogs at the last minute. So thank you , PETSMART for taking them . Petco, very unprofessional. I had the appointment confirmed, and I had booked it over a week ahead of time. If no one was going to show up / be scheduled for that early I would have appreciated a call before time so I would be aware and make other arrangements or even push back the appointment. read more

This was going to be my first time ever requesting a grooming for my dog. Scheduled the appointment via the app and everything. Confirmed it too. The morning of, I receive a text that one of their associates is sick and so the appointment will need to be rescheduled, followed by a text of my appointments cancellation. Petco requests 24 hours for cancellations, but they gave me way less than that. And just cancelled the appointment. No courtesy offer to reschedule except to do it myself a week from my original appointment's date because of how busy they are. Working in customer service myself, this is very upsetting. I have had nothing but troubles with this location. Not the retail store, but the groomers. The last time I took my two Golden Retrievers there they botched the cut by hardly trimming them at all, then they told me that they didn't want to groom my 14+ year old anymore (never acted her age until her last week on this Earth) because she was "too old for them to be responsible for." Really, listen, if she died while getting groomed at nearly 15 I would say that was the way I wanted to go. Now (since the old dog has crossed over) I took the 3 yo Golden to get clipped and my instructions were, "If you use the clippers, please don't shave her tight. Please leave the feathers behind her legs, just trim them. And whatever you do, please make sure she looks like a Golden!" Yup, you guessed it, they shaved her to her skin, all but her head and her tail. She looks like a freakin Poodle! Go here for your food. The retail people are nice, but after 2 bad experiences with the groomers, I will never be back. They are nothing back poorly trained hacks that couldn't get a job at a reputable groomer, if they begged for it. Heck, I'm still made enough, that I must might buy all my food at www.chewy.com and not even bother with the trip there anymore. read more

Exellence service from Ariana in the grooming department, trimmed my dogs nails in under 5 minutes! (LITERALLY) Really love that fact she was fast and efficient. Usually my dog is really rambunctious , but Ariana was calm cool and collected which made my dog relax. Didn't seem to bother her one bit. Would give her 10 stars!! read more

I have two ferrets already and went to look at their ferrets with intentions of buying another. When we asked to hold one of them an older gentleman rudely replied with " well are you intending on buying one because if not we don't just let people hold them". I don't recall ever being treated so poorly in a place I was trying to give business to. I have avoided this location and preferred the one at Kuykendahl and Woodlands Parkway but I decided, against my better judgement, to give this store a chance to groom one of my dogs. Just a bath and a face, feet, and fanny trim. I took both of my dogs to drop the one off because they have separation anxiety. I walked up to the grooming door and read all the signs. Basically, what was there was one saying to please wear a mask if you are not vaccinated. I see 2 of the 6 foot apart stickers on the floor inside the grooming office so I decided to go in and stand far away from the woman who was checking in at the desk, The 2 staff in the room instantly started yelling at me that only one person at a time could be in the room. Ok, that could have been said far nicer and there should be a sign....logical in my mind. We walk out and I am already ready to leave at this point. Then a girl with short green hair comes out and asks me my dog's name. I told her Frederick. She looks at me and my dogs and rudely says "they're both named Frederick?" I told her that I am only dropping one of them off and the other is coming with me. Now, what she could have done is turned her head before she dramatically rolled her eyes at me, but no, apparently a paying customer is not worth even that much of a courtesy. I popped my head back in the room and told them that we are just going to leave. They cheerfully yelled "ok bye". I will never even shop at this store again. I called for the manager and spoke to Taylor. I didn't trust this location to begin with and they proved me right. read more

Never had such poor customer service in my life. Was the only person in line but the young man behind the counter, Dimitrius, would not acknowledge me. I had to ask him if he was open and he said no and then waved me to come up to the register. He was very lackadaisical and clearly did not want to work. He overlooked the sale tag on two of my items and knew nothing about the third item that was on sale. I had to go back to the shelf where I got the item and take a picture of the sale tag and go back to the register to show him. He still couldn't get my total right and I just couldn't take anymore of his poor attitude. I finally just had to leave. read more

The moment this Petco refused to price match, I moved my business to Chewy.com. I went in one day and after numerous times in the past to price match, they finally told me they do not price match anymore. I asked why? They said "because too many people have been asking for it". Well, that's probably because your prices are ridiculous. You can get the same products online and shipped to your door in two days much cheaper. I have saved anywhere between 17%-50%!!! By shopping online with Chewy. Don't be fooled by the big name, their prices are far too high. The only price match they do is with themselves online!! They compete against themselves which doesn't make sense. The store is clean and customer service is good. They have a variety of products to choose from. read more

Save yourself the hassle and do not come to this location. Made an appointment online and everything went smooth until an hr before his appointment I get a call stating his groomer called in sick and there are no other available times that day. Such a bummer so I tried various locations which could fit me in a few days later. Despite their efforts for trying to reschedule me, I tried giving them another chance. Scheduled my puppy online to get groomed and everything was smooth sailing. To my surprise I get a phone call an hr before his appointment stating his groomer called in sick (AGAIN). Mind you, he has no set person and he gets groomed by whomever is available. This time they asked if I could come in the next day. Fine, I scheduled an appointment for the next day and had him there 10 minutes early. I was standing in the lobby of the grooming section for 15 minutes without being acknowledged or anything. I had to go to the front counter to ask for assistance. They apparently paged someone and she poked her head through the door and said in the rudest, nastiest tone "We're busy, who are you here for". I politely expressed that I have been waiting about 15 minutes and she proceeds to cut me off and says in a very aggressive tone "like I said we're busy, who are you here for"......I instantly got irritated and asked for her manager. All the manager did was come in looking hella confused and scared to address the situation and told the groomer "just give her a discount" but the groomer said "she's already getting a discount for us rescheduling" and the manager pats me on my arm and says "I'll take care of you" and walks out. I left my puppy for his appointment and received a call 4 hours later stating he was done. When I picked him up he looked terrible. He was botched from head to toe. When I picked him up to go pay, my shirt was full of hair from where they didn't blow him off...my poor baby. And to get my ticket to see the manager didn't take care of me. I only had a 20% off coupon for being rescheduled. It took everything for me not to get my puppy and walk out of there but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Lesson learned because I will NEVER step foot in that place again. read more

I am floored how Everytime we bring our dog to be groomed the cost is different for the same services. Today a bath, cut and nail clipping was $84 for a Cavalier King Charles. We don't cut him and make him fancy like a normal Cavalier cut. They use clippers to cut him so it's not like they put a lot of work into the job. I don't even spend that much to.have my hair washed and cut...even if I add in a manicure for myself. Whoever does the paperwork just picks whatever they want to charge for the day I guess. Called to get my pet a wash and when I arrived the attendant said my dog was too old, he's 14, they don't wash dogs older than 12. They have my pet records since 2007. About a month ago they took it all-right and said nothing about his age. I understand their rules, no matter how ridiculous they seem to me, what I don't understand is taking in the dog a month ago and now setting the appointment and making me drive just to reject me at the very door.
