I kind of was disappointed at this location. Ive always had great service in the Kapolei Location. I walked in willing to spend money for my puppy. I wasn't greeted, I had to physically walk up to someone to ask for help and it seems that they did not want to. I needed treats and some bones abd was told "they were in the middle". Middle where? I have never been in this location before so I was getting frustrated and the associate didnt realize they had ran out of treats and bones for puppy and she just walked away. So i saw some dog tags and an engraving machine so I purchase one to engrave my pups name. Again that same associate told me the machine was easier to use than a smartphone and walked away leaving me staring at it to figure out. As i was figuring it out another associate came by and asked me if I was ok and he walked me through it. His help was the only thing saving this review. BEWARE!!! Went here for the Santa Picture with your pet. They wanted all your information. DANIEL one of the Managers is the one taking the pictures and wanting all this info. And they claim it's to send the picture to you. They refuse when you ask if they can just put it on a SDCard. They INSIST for a phone number. Gave only an email and I open the email but refused to download it on my computer? Thank goodness I didn't. Closed down my computer then opened it up again and noticed; right away someone was trying to get into my computer and I remembered the only email I opened was from PETCO with the picture. I'm so used to the warm greetings, huge space and layout, and bonus treats for your pets at checkout at the Kaneohe store. I mean, they really set the bar and I've only ever gone to the Kaneohe location prior to visiting the one in Waikele. Went there yesterday with my pup, keep in mind this tiny store was EMPTY...no one else was in there. No greeting. Subtract a star. No eye contact at check out. Subtract a star. The lady checking us out had the title of manager on her name tag and was as disinterested and impersonable as they come. Subtract a star. And no treats or samples for the pup. Lame. Maybe it was an off day for her, but yesterday left me with no interest of visiting this store again. The Petco dog washing station was great to use for my two dogs. They provide you with: 3 towels per dog, shampoo, conditioner, two different brushes, and a leash to hook them up to the wash and dry station all complimentary when you purchase the $12.00 wash. My one complaint is the water runs a little hot, I had to keep readjusting the water temperature on the faucet because it was too hot for my dog, he yelped once because the water was too warm. Friendly greeters once u walk in! Workers are very helpful and friendly. I bring my dog here every Sunday to get her groomed. They're self wash/groom for a great price! They provide: Shampoo Conditioner Furminator Deodorizing spray Breath spray Hair brush Hair blower Aprons Collar All for $10!!!!!!!! You get to stay as long as you want, I usually use up the shampoo and conditioner lol I try to make the $10 extra worth it! I love it here! It just sucks that u can't really do much when u wait in line, there is no kittens and puppies to play with or look at! But it's all right since I only come here for dog wash and dog food. read more

So much more convenient to have a Petco in Waikele and not have to go to the Pearl City location anymore. I love having a pet store nearby that sells quality pet food and treats. It is small, but this location has everything that a dog, cat, and hamster/rabbit owner would need - minus the Pearl City traffic. I was intrigued to see the self-service wash station and overheard an employee explaining to a customer how it works. You go up to the resister and inform them you would like to use the station. They will help you get set up. They provide everything: shampoos, conditioners, sprays (not sure for what haha), blow dryers... you name it. Toss the wet towels in the provided basket and the employees will clean up the rest. $10 per dog gets you this sweet deal. I think I would consider doing this if I had a large dog, but my two little pups fit easily in the tub. read more

Xena gets excited every time she comes to do her nails. This time her favorite groomer was not there. She still got her nails done, but we were told that she stopped at her favorite groomers table and had to be coaxed to the table she was gonna get groomed on. Erisa is her favorite groomer. The store is a bit small, but it still has a surprising variety of products to offer, and is in a very convenient location. I walked in here for the first time and it was good! This location is a lot smaller than the pearl city location. I think this leeward waipahu/waikele side actually needed a pet store. There was pets discount before, but it shut down. I notice they carry a little less stuff, especially the dog food and treats. I bought a few stuff and they gave a few extra bonus treats as I was checking out! Store is clean and well organized. Customer service was great! read more

This is for the Waikele Petco. I have been patronizing Petco for awhile now and haven't had any problems or complaints until now. I was ready to check out and Christina asked DIANA to do a price match.She then started complaining that she did enough price matches that day. it was very clear DIANA did not want to do a price match for me because she continued to challenge her manager that was more like arguing with her. So unprofessional to do that in front of the customer. She then left her register and left me standing there in shock. Diana made me feel discriminated against and I felt very uncomfortable.Im also a business owner and would never treat our customers the way she treated me that day. Diana is a representation of Petco and discrimination should never be tolerated. I came here yesterday to check out the humane society's adoption fair. OMG I wanted to take them all home with me! I really love that this location participates in the adoption fairs because once adoption processes go through you can go in and get all the supplies you need. In addition, petco offers dog training for your new friend. I was so close to adopting this adorable and energetic chocolate lab, but of course we have to wait after we get our flooring in* pout pout. I love this location, and the services offered. I have always been a Petsmart dog mom, but this petco has really tested that. Every time we go in our dog gets so much love and he adores it. The staff is so friendly and makes sure you know about all deals and discounts available to you. They also send coupons in the mail and have a great rewards program. Once when we went in our dog was pulling on his leash pretty bad so a staff member showed us a type of harness that contracts, took it out of the box, put it on him, and let us try it out around the store. Great salesmanship by that lady, and great product for us! The dog bath here is also really convenient as well. We always enjoy our trip into this Petco! read more

Worst service EVER!! We went in to look for Christmas gifts for our fur-family members. My husband asked the male worker if they had a restroom he could use. Next thing I know, I over hear them talking SHIT about how he walks and the male worker saying he had half a mind to lie and say they didn't have a bathroom because My husband "walked funny." I'm sorry but NUMBER ONE...WHO ARE YOU to judge how my husband walks!? Did your dumbass know he has a foot injury from doing construction work!? Because he has a REAL MAN'S job not just standing behind a register in an air condition Room for 8 hours!? I'll start with be good. The staff is super friendly which I really appreciate. The store has everything I need crammed into the aisles. I'm giving 3 stars instead of 2 because I can get what I need and no one is a jerk. The store is extremely small compared to other pet stores. I do not recommend training here because of how TINY the store is. They don't have a legitimate training area. They just fence off a teeny tiny section of this already compact store when it's time for class. There was only 2 other small/medium dogs in my class and I felt trapped in a tiny corner. The dogs aren't allowed to be within 3 feet of each other so you really have no room to really move or train. My 30 lb dog had to sit in between my legs and had just enough room to turn around. The trainer is nice but because there really is no room to be able to do anything so I had to ask for a refund. I want to be able to stand, maybe walk around a bit without bumping into anyone while I train. Not to mention that if you're just in the store to shop it closes off that section so you can't reach what you need to get. I'm surprised no one took that into consideration when the store was built. Not too sure what can be done about that but I couldn't deal. PetSmart's training area is like 4 times it's size and completely closed off so you don't have random customers hovering over the fence and staring at you. Shopping is here is great. Just don't waste your money trying to train in a corner. read more

I'm trying to use a Petco Coupon (Free Cat litter SO PHRESH ODOR CONTROL 30lbs) I asked for a help to find the cat litter that was on the coupon but the lady gave me the wrong cat litter which is the SO PHRESH DUAL ODOR GUARD (VIOLET).It was supposed to be the (GREEN) ODOR CONTROL based on the coupkn but she insisted that there's a lady earlier who has the same coupon as mine and it doesn't work with the Green one. So she tried scanning the violet cat litter with the coupon but ended up declined. I asked her if she can try to scan the green one that might work, since it has different barcodes.. but she insisted that it's not working earlier. I mean there's no problem to try but seems they don't want to honor the coupon since it's free stuff. They even refuse to sell me a clearance scratching post last week even though it says "damaged"already that's why it's $9 (originally $40), I don't know why.. but they just told me it was missing a screw. I've been in the store for 20 mins and there were 3 workers, AN ALMOST EMPTY STORE. There was no "welcome" greeting nor while waiting for assistance, there was no one near me to acknowledge if I needed the help or not. I obviously did being that I've been walking around them trying to get their attention away from their joyful conversation they been having. I stood next to them, waiting and waiting to be approached, and none of them offered to help, but continued to chit chat away. It's a Friday around 6pm so I acknowledge any of you to not come to this location looking for assistance, the workers here clearly ain't here to help but to gossip about what went down the day before. If you know what you're getting, then by all means this store around this time is empty, but as I said, if help is what you're seeking for, DONT COME HERE. Very disappointed! read more

Walt showed me a variety of dog harnesses and helped me select the best ones for my dogs. Alex and Ariana were also very courteous. It is so nice to have a conveniently located Petco in Waikele with outstanding people working there. Petco Waikele has a very welcoming and positive vibe, which much be coming from such excellent employees such as Walt, Alex and Ariana. Please keep up the great work! Came in last week on Sunday for pet classes that we had paid $295 for only to be called by the trainer Lani and told that our class was scheduled for this coming Saturday at 3:30 so our family drives out to Waipahu again only to be very rudely and unprofessionally told upon arriving by Lani our trainer that the starting date is another date and time and sent away there was no call, no messages,nothing to warn us that this coming Saturday was not the date yet again that our puppy wouldn't start his training, my husband and I were very upset about the situation as he had to go to work that same day and had taken time from his schedule to attend the class, the store associate could see we were not happy and was very sweet and did do the best he could to compensate for the mix up of time, and even gave us the best discount he could when we bought puppy food which was nice ...if your looking to get a few things at the store this store is convenient, and the store associates are very helpful....I do not recommend Lani though if your looking for a professional dog trainer your better off going somewhere else read more

We went to Petco Waipio (near Old Navy) on Saturday May 4th to wash our two GSD's. We have gone there multiple times over the last few years without any problems (the crew actually like us, because I clean up the tubs and area after our dogs are done). Any way, this Saturday was busy, so they assigned us the tub on the Rt side for our two dogs because the left side was being use. When the Lt side became available, they gave it to someone else rather than give it to us (we were still on the first dogs bath). We finally got done (more than an hour when its usually only takes 20-30 mins for two when we have the two tubs). I was cleaning up the area, when our female GSD because sick, so I had my daughter go get paper towels/cleaner while my husband took to two pups outside. He was stopped at the entrance by the dog trainer Lani. She wanted to know why he was leaving her mess, he told her he was taking them outside so if she would be sick again it would not be in the store. He also told her my wife (me) was cleaning the area and maybe instead of giving him grief, maybe she could help by finding paper towels/cleaner. She responded by saying that wasn't her job, if he could read he would see she was a dog trainer. I wouldn't let her near my dogs ever...she doesn't know the first thing about training animals. We spend between 250.00-500.00 a week there on food, litter and supplies for our dogs, cats, birds and fish...guess Pet Smart is getting a new customer now. read more

If I could give 10 stars, I would! This Petco location is the best and friendliest store I've ever been in. And is now my family & I's go to pet store. The associates are knowledgeable, friendly, and always wanting to give my dog treats. They have dog training classes, and the trainer Sherrill, is hands down the best trainer. She gives her 110% into everything she does and is always willing to help if we need it! My dog learned so much from her during her first class! We are going to take our other dogs here for training soon! And they have a dog washing station too! My family and I love this petco and its associates! read more

WARNING: They do not sell pets, only pet supplies. Pearl City petco has birds, freshwater fish, saltwater fish, aquatic plants, turtles, cats, hampsters, rabbits. This location doesn't have any! This stores seems to be setup mostly for current dog owners as they have a dog self-wash station and over half the store is dog supplies/food. Maybe a couple small aisles for other non-dog supplies. read more
