I had a appointment just for sanitary shave. Waiting 2 weeks my dog gets groom by a groomer just just wanted that. The groomer came out and said she would have to do a full groomer on her. She was bs because she just wanted to charge more then the 14 $ Trying to be me. My pup is groomed. I just figured to just keep up in her sanitary more so I dont have to keep going for a full groom. Everything. Such as a attitude from the groomer. Disgusting attitude toll her eyes thru the windows before she even came out. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. read more

And I ask how much is it for my dog to just get groomed we already gave him a bath. she said no it comes all together with a bath and a grooming is supposedly $80 to do the whole thing she was overworking and weird. read more

This is my local Petco and they are always so helpful. The reason I'm writing this review is their response to the current pandemic! I wish more businesses were this proactive. Some things I noticed: - Greeter: counting the number of people in the store, directing customers to what they need, and of course greeting! - Everyone wearing gloves. Some employees wearing masks. Glad that they are offered that choice. My One call out here would be to remind the cashier that she shouldn't touch her face... even with gloves on. - limiting the number of customers when they have reached the threshold. - cones 6 feet apart for checkout. Fabulous customer service at the grooming department. It was SO easy to get an appointment for my new pups nail trimming. Lisa, the groomer, went above and beyond her job to offer us suggestions for how often we should groom, get her nails trim and other products that would be beneficial to our pup. We went in on July 30 around 12 noon to purchase some goldfish . There was a wait which we understood but young woman who came to help us in the aquatic section was very rude. We wanted to purchase one or two goldfish and she said she could not sell them to us as she was not allowed to even though we told her we already had goldfish. It seemed like she had an answer for everything and was just adamant about us not being allowed to purchase goldfish. We even asked what other kind of fish we could purchase and she said she could not tell us any other fish. I guess she didn't feel like working that day. Will never come back here. My cat has been sick lately and has been refusing most of his food. With the pandemic going on I can't just buy cat food and then return what he won't eat so I went to the store to try to find something the poor guy will eat. I walked in and was greeted by two young boys standing shoulder to shoulder, not 6 feet apart, who informed me that I could not actually enter the store. I had to tell them what I wanted and they would get it for me. I had no idea what I needed because I needed to actually look and see what I've tried already and what I hadn't, so I had to leave the store with nothing. I knew the store had curbside pick up and had tried to use that option before I actually went to the store. But the website kept defaulting to a different store, even after I tried a different browser, cleared my history and tried it on my phone. So I had to actually go to the store, only to find out I still couldn't look at anything. I applaud companies taking measures to keep people safe. But this was ridiculous, especially because these two boys were standing right next to each other. Customers are more at risk from them (if they aren't worried about social distancing with coworkers then they aren't worried about it in their personal lives) then they are picking up their own items (I had glovesand a mask). I will never shop at any Petco again. read more

Came here even though it was a little further from my house because another reviewer raved about the customer service coupons/savings and cleanliness of the store, as I pulled up there's plenty of parking, when I walked in i noticed the store was super organized & clean!I was greeted by employee Emilio who guided & helped me every step of the way! He assisted me while I got my engraved dog tag, handed me a nice size coupon book because I recently adopted from Last Hope Animal Rescue across the street,gave me a rewards card and assisted me in shopping for my first adopted pooch in almost 20 yrs! his recommendations were awesome,from the right size leash,to the dog bed and bones & snacks for my new bff!Lol,i saved quite a few bucks and ill def be back real soon im sure!plus "Rocky" really seemed to like it here!..Petco..its where the Pets go!lol:) read more

If I could give this place a 0 I would. My family has been taken my two dogs to this petco to get groomed for awhile now, two weeks ago we had taken my Pomeranian to get groomed like usual and we took him home, from the day we brought him home to about three days after that I was noticed HORRIBLE cuts all over him, not little cuts, HUGE CUTS!!! We had another appointment today for my cockapoo (with a different person at the groomer) , we we went to pick her up, my mother went up to the woman Lisa (who we believe cut my Pomeranians hair that day) and explained to her the situation and showed her the pictures I had taken, she said with a rude attitude "well he didn't leave the here that way" I was infuriated the fact that this lady didn't even care that my dog left the groomers with CUTS and gives us an attitude for calling her out? My mom politely said "well we will no longer be making appointments here anymore" and she gave her a nasty look. I will be leaving picture of the cuts. Let me start this review by saying I am not a fan of the Petco chain. I find them to be unethical and uneducated on the exotic species that they sell (to just about anyone with a credit card). But I LOVE this Petco so far. The staff *Gasp* actually knows what they are doing, and are compassionate about animals. If you read the negative reviews, it proves that point further. Pros: Their large crickets are actually large, unlike Petsmart. They feed their reptiles species specific food. Their staff is always walking around and sociable. The place isn't huge, but uses their space well and is immaculate with a nice selection. Best prices around. I only shop at pet stores that actually have some pets for adoption and not just for sale, but they also even have a food donation box. Cons: I think they offer training classes or something? Sometimes when I am there, large groups of people and dogs are walking around with a staff member. I'm not sure if they already have an area for training or not, but with this store being filled to the brim with merchandise this can make it kind of tough to get around. But really, no big deal. They also sell Iguanas, not cool. Anyway, Love this place. Petco should use this store as an example. read more

This location is smaller than others but the customer service at this location is superb!! Everyone is so friendly & accommodating that I was highly impressed. There was even a representative there today from Blue Buffalo who helped my friend & I since we were looking for very specific grain free, gluten free, everything free, not made in China food for her white put bull who is sensitive to everything & really requires a good quality wet food since now her dry food is prescription food. It's amazing how expensive things are for animals...just like us humans I guess, but our animals are a part of the family so we pay the price willingly. The staff here is wonderful. They are always so friendly and helpful. I decided to give the groomer a try since they all seemed so caring towards the dogs that came in. Our appointment was with Tom and he was terrific. So gentle and calming to our crazy hyper girl. My husband didn't want her waiting in a crate while other dogs got groomed and they assured us she was next and we would be called as soon as she was finished. They were true to their word. We went to run some errands and before we knew it they were calling us to come get her. She was looking and smelling fresh, all trimmed up and happy. Nails clipped and ears cleaned. The only complaint I have here is pricing. Than again what isn't expensive now a days. I come here for practically all my yorkie a needs. From grooming to bedding to toys to food. I make sure I don't leave anything out. She loves this place. Grooming takes a while, so make sure you plan ahead and clear out 1/2 the day! And the staff is great! I bring my three dogs to Petco to get groomed. They are all wonderful in the grooming department. The last time i went in to Petco Grooming I found out that one of the main groomers Victoria no longer works there. I was wondering if anyone knows where she went. One of my dogs loves Victoria, he won't let anyone else near him. So now I only bring two of my dogs and have to groom my australian shepherd at home myself. If anyone knows where Victoria went , can you please let me know. read more

I buy fish from this location all the time and every time I buy fish either the same night or the next morning all the fish are dead that's because many of times I went in there to purchase fish and there were tons of ripped up dead fish on the bottom of the tank I told employees many times and they just brush it off like they don't care so they sell sick fish the only helpful person that works at this location is a lady named Deb Very helpful and generally loves her job and there's also a guy that works in the aquarium section with a man bun very helpful guy and respectful and that guy Jake that works in the fish department has no clue about fish don't go to this location shelves are always empty and they never have stuff in the store read more

Our guinea pig had respiratory issues, lady after one day stated it's ok to take him home, a few days later I bring the baby back and told them it had it again, they took it, called me back 3 days later they had to put down the pig. They keep getting shipments from I don't know where, the guinea pigs have respiratory issues and their suppliers need to be looked into, just horrible. :( read more

Bunch of idiots at their vet. I took my 15 yr old dog there for a rabies shot as I do every 3 years. They looked her up in their computer and found when I was there 3yrs ago but the dope behind the counter said that my dog should be 3 yrs old now and not 15. I laughed and said your records are obviously incorrect and wouldn't it mean then she was just born when she got her last shot? It took the manager to come over to understand what I said --and I was told it would be fixed in the system. I paid, got my dog the shot and we got the new shiny tag that goes on the her collar. Two weeks later I brought my dog back for a simple nail clipping. While standing at the counter they demanded to see proof of a rabies shot. I said she was here two weeks ago. They couldn't find it in there records. I said then look at the tag you gave me that's on her collar - It has the registered number and date. It didn't matter, I had to leave to go and find the stupid receipt because their system is as useless as the people that work there. Wow has this place gone downhill. I won't be bringing any pets back here again. read more

I would NOT get your dog groomed here! I was getting my dog groomed since he was 12 weeks old. He was also trained at This Petco location (WANTAGH) My dog is now almost 5 years old, and have used them for his whole puppy life! I have been calling them for three months now trying to get an appointment for him to get a bath and each time I call they tell me there are no appointments for two months! To make a long story short, I ask to speak to the manager, who then proceeds to tell me that their groomer that took care of my baby boy left and this new groomer doesn't feel comfortable taking care of my dog because he's a Doberman. I couldn't believe my ears!!!!! I then Asked her why and the manager (Deb) said nothing ever happened but their new groomer just doesn't feel comfortable taking care of him!!! Well my answer to that is if it's your job, you can't pick and choose what dogs you want to take care of, that's discrimination!!!! My dog is the sweetest dog you will ever meet!!! Get a new career! This ones not for you! Does a doctor get to chose which patients he sees???? I have tried reaching out to customer service as well and they have not returned my calls!! I love this petco. The employees are awesome and super helpful. They know my dog and myself by name and always greet us with a smile! Prices are fair and they fully welcome my rescue pit bull unlike many other places. They also are associated with town of hempstead animal shelter which is where I adopted my pup from and when i told them that they gave me a huge booklet full of amazing coupons. I saved so much money with that for everything my dog needed. There is a young guy there who is sooo super helpful ( i cant remember his name) everything he has recommended for my dog has been a hit its never a waste of money. I appreciate all of their recommendations. I will always shop at this specific location although there are many closer to my home. read more

I take my little buddy Cincinnati Jack for his grooming because Rebecca the groomer is the absolute best! She consistently does an excellent job and is the reason we will not take him anyplace else unless of course Rebecca changes her work location. The prices are pretty on par and the staff is helpful and friendly. Always have the food I need (Blue Buffalo) and its usually on sale. The store is huge and the accessories that they sell are pretty good, I feel like they could be a little better for the price. read more

My husband and I don't usually shop in this area and we have other Petco's closer to us. But the day the we picked up our Jack from Last Hope Animal Shelter we needed food and supplies and spotted this location as we were driving. I am so glad we did! The moment we walked in with Jack the employees all approached and loved on him. They were all just as excited as we were that our little man was coming home! This was when we met Javier from the grooming department. His absolutely love for animals showed. He was amazing helping us pick out a harness and showing us to put it on him. Before we left he gave me a big hug and thanked us for saving our little man. It brought me to tears (of happiness of course). When it was time to get Jack's nails done last week we knew there was only one person we wanted doing it so we made the drive to see Javier. His clear love for animals made him our only choice. He was so gentle and kind with Jack who was a little nervous about his first grooming. We will continue to make the drive here every month to see Javier and staff! read more
