Closed on Mondays... I finally was able to stop in for lunch recently. A very nice sandwich restaurant that has two floors for seating, along with an outside deck with tables and chairs. The menu has plenty of the standard hot and cold sandwiches, and some other creative sandwiches and sides. I stopped for a sandwich to go, and decided on having an order of loaded tot's. For roughly a half hour, this meal was a much needed break from the day I was having. I usually wouldn't order something like this. But this dish was extremely good.... Just tried Peter & Sons for the first time and Oh. My. Gosh. I can not believe how good everything we ordered is. Took about 15 minutes from when we placed an order to get the food, and that was incredibly quick for how fresh and tasty this is. I had a plain steak sandwich and fried onions, tasty tasty tasty. My boyfriend had the chipotle ranch chicken cutlet sandwich and raved about it. The fries were good, but the star of the show in my opinion was the buffalo chicken egg roll. I wish we ordered more than 1!! We got everything to-go but there are a few tables inside to sit at, with a casual ambiance. All I can say is wow they were the best onion rings I tasted in my life. Very hard to put down. The Sunday burger was ok it could of been seasoned a little more but I'm not complaining who doesn't like a burger with egg and bacon and potatoes on it . Stopped in for a late lunch on a Saturday; party of 3. The shop is small but there are 2 floors. They have about 7-8 tables for sitting and eating. You are able to order online and have the food taken to your table. They also offer delivery. The wait for food was about 20mins. I had the boom boom cheesesteak on garlic bread; this was so delicious. The parm fries were so good. My husband ordered the chicken parm w/ mozz and vodka sauce; he said it was very good. My kid ordered the chicken parm sandwich and she also enjoyed. We had the crab egg rolls which are a must try. There is a small parking lot but also street parking, reasonably priced and everyone was very nice. Overall a great experience and definitely in a great location by Rowan University. read more

First time here for lunch. Great little Italian sandwich joint near Rowan University. My laundry professional keeps recommending local restaurants that do not disappoint. Friendly staff greet you coming and going with thank-youse and holiday cheers! Lots of to-go ordering for fast pickup. But a cozy, clean indoor seating area as well, with 2 large-4 top rounds and a 6 top. Plenty of outdoor patio seating as well. Have to admit, that based on the sterling reviews, I was more than a little disappointed with my visit here. I'll say this; if you've ever wanted to feel like you're at the Jersey shore, without going to the Jersey shore, Peter and Sons is your place. It has a VERY Jersey Shore vibe, from the TINY, TINY inside dining room, to the almost entirely late teen/early 20s work force, to the almost entirely late teen/early 20s clientele (while we were there at least), even down to the food itself, which is absolute gut busting, greasy fat bombs that only a young persons body and metabolism can handle. I was in the mood for something a little on the lighter side, and since my daughter will ONLY eat french fries, I decided that a sandwich was the solution, and Peter and Sons had the best ratings near me. I was thinking though, more along the lines of "turkey club," and less "cheese fries chicken cheesesteak." Now, I will say that this one is more on ME, as I was having issues seeing the entire menu on my phone before we headed over, but I ASSUMED that a place that puts a cheesesteak on a philly pretzel would be able to whip together a turkey club. Wrong. SO, admitting fault, we decided to throw caution, and heartburn to the wind, and lean into fat boy status. We ordered a chicken parm sandwich with mozzarella squares, and a "mac and cheesesteak," the epitome of gluttonous eating. I asked if any of the sandwiches came with fries, and that was a no, so we bought a side of fries as well. For the baby (my 3 year old) we got a 1/2 ham sandwich meal, and that DID come with fries. For drinks, their only options were canned or bottled soda or water, and not even good stuff. "Red Creamsicle soda" and a bunch of other weird flavors. I noticed then that they had lemonade and tea carafes behind the counter, and asked for 2 "arnold palmers." I think everything came out to about $50, which isn't BAD considering the amount of food but I didn't think the food justified the price. First off, the sandwiches are pretty big, so you'd likely be fine splitting something, but then the side of greasy crinkle fries was pretty small by comparison. (again, think absolute grease laden boardwalk fries in Ocean City, and you got it.) The kids meal sandwich was huge for a child, but then came with no condiments and the same greasy fries. The sandwiches tasted ok, with the chicken parm being the star. The mac and cheesesteak actually surprised that it didn't taste like absolute garbage, as it LOOKED an abomination. Mac and cheese on a cheesesteak is a bold combo. The arnold palmers however WERE terrible. Obnoxiously sweet, and the lemonade was 100% pure Country Time lemonade mix, or I'll eat my hat. Service was extremely nice, if not a little clunky; the counter girl told me that either I "can come back inside to order, or I can come out to you," the first person to bring out food asked if we needed anything when he brought out the fries and kids meal ("ketchup" was the answer), then came with ketchup and asked if we wanted napkins, ("yes please.") So three trips for something that should have been brought the first time. A different young man came to clear trays, but only took one tray and left the others, never to be seen again. The counter girl brought the sandwiches and drinks, so we didn't really have a server. Anywho, to sum it all up, I won't be in any sort of rush to come back to Peter and Sons. The food is fine if you are young enough to metabolize the 3000 calories, the outdoor seating is fine if the weather is nice, (Inside dining room is SMALL small,) and the price isn't horrible, but it's just not for me. This place DEFINITELY skews toward the Spring Break crowd. read more

My mom at the time was in the hospital so we grabbed the food to go and when we returned weeks later, and expressed how delicious the food was, Lisa who had taken our order remembered us and told us that our mom was in their prayers. This place popped up on my Instagram feed and the food looked amazing. Decided to pop in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The sandwiches were awesome. I had the vodka cutlet on garlic bread, which was sick. The garlic bread was a game changer. My mother had the chicken Parmesan with spaghetti, which is basically an entire entree on a roll. This place has been on my bucket list for awhile and the other week my son happened to have a football camp that way. I called in advance to let them know we we're eating in but in a rush. A wonderful cheesesteak. The best you'll get in Glassboro or Washington Twp. I knew it was a good sign when the person asked me if I wanted my steak cut up or not. I ordered the cheese steak with extra fried onions and sweet peppers. I don't get ketchup on it it, because I want to taste the meat to see if it's quality or not. Also, I don't like it cut up like they do in many of the places around here. I haven't found any steak places in this area that have decent meat. This was pretty good! All told, the steak cost $10 with what I ordered with it They have many different items on their menus I'll probably try the pizza steak next. While the location isn't the greatest, (it's where the old kabob place used to be), it's well worth it to go out of your way for this sandwich. As you can see from my pictures, they put a decent amount of meat on the sandwich. I'm always on the hunt for the best cheesesteak, and my top two that I compare everything to are Angelo's and Oh Brother (both in Philly). I was thinking the whiz & American cheesesteak was going to be most like Oh Brother's, but I just didn't love it. Perhaps the steak not being chopped up just isn't for me? Maybe it was an off day? There's just so much hype that I feel like I must be wrong, but this cheesesteak just didn't do it for me. I'm also used to taking the cheesesteak out of the bag and it feeling like a heavy weight... this was light. I guess if you're comparing to just local places this is good, but if you're top tiers are Angelo's and Oh Brother, it's not great. The only reason I give this place a 4/5 is because it didn't seem like the AC was working when I went...... it was 92 in the upstairs dining room, which isn't the best when you're eating really hot food :( Besides the temperature, the food was AMAZING! 10/10 the BEST cheesesteak egg rolls I've ever had! I heard so many great things about the food here and just knew I had to try it! Even though I live more than an hour away, I made the hike out there and I was not disappointed! Firstly the staff who greeted us were extremely friendly and welcoming. I knew right away what I wanted because I had looked at the menu ahead of time, and while everything sounded delicious, I just couldn't pass up this one! I got the loaded vodka chicken cutlet sandwich, which was delicious! Garlic bread, chicken cutlets with vodka sauce, mozzarella squares and garlic parm fries. The staff was really nice and also made us a seasonal drink that I think they may have discontinued, but when we asked for it they said it was not a problem, the drink was also delicious! The only thing I would say is the cutlets were thin and a bit overcooked, so it was a little tough to chew. The taste of everything though, made up for it! From walking into their comfortable dining area to the hellos and welcome in from EVERY staff member. This intimate spot was not only just a comfy place to grab a bite, the food was AMAZING. I have always LOVED sandwich's. So of course I was excited to go to a sandwich shop!! This restaurant brings something different to the table. Their sandwiches range from a traditional Philly cheesesteak to a complete transformation of a chicken cheesesteak with plenty of options and toppings and bread selections! I got that traditional Philly taste with a twist of putting any choice of Freda lunch meat (WHICH IS THE TOP TEAR OF MEATS) or steak/ chicken/ or chicken cutlet sandwich on a PRETZEL! The flavor was absolutely incredible. We also enjoyed the boom boom fries! These fries were LOADED with crab and the fries were perfectly crispy!! Don't forget to pair with the owners homemade hot sauce! Do not let me forget their homemade lemonade!! It was the perfect combo of tart and sweet. The owners were incredible and humbling. They asked us to share our story and how we found them. They asked for our opinion on their food and really wanted our feedback! Everything I've gotten here is amazing. The sandwiches are much bigger than your average pizza joint's sandwiches, the meat always tastes fresh, and they have tons of toppings/customizations. The staff are quick and the food normally takes less than a 1/2 hour (if you're picking it up). My favorite sandwich is a classic cheesesteak with fried onions and peppers. And my favorite side of all time has to be their roadhouse fries (might be too spicy for some). Worth every penny every time. read more

Been meaning to eat here for about a month now, since I not only get deliveries from here but my friend told me about how good their food was. We ordered 3 different types of cheese steaks: traditional, chicken, and the first escapes me. Now the presentation was excellent, it looked nice. But I'm not a huge fan of strips of steak in my cheese steak, so it threw me initially... But I thought the beef was very bland. My wife was also not impressed with hers either. My father in law did enjoy his chicken cheese steak... But I think the two we had with the strips of beef were just underwhelming. The fries were decent, but nothing to write home about. INSANE. My family and I stopped here around 3pm for 4 cheesesteaks with wiz and onions after a disappointing cheesesteak on south street yesterday. My dad, a native of Pitman always told me New Jersey has better cheesesteaks. He is right. But this place Specifically was DELICIOUS. The bread is chewy, the meat is perfectly shaved (thankfully not minced) and it all had the perfect amount of salt. I'll eat here again and again anytime I'm in SNJ. It was everything you'd want and more. The chicken was absolutely fantastic. The sauce adds that sweet zing, and the mozzarella was divine. I also ordered their cheesesteak, fried onions, and Mac and cheese. Yes, Mac and cheese on a cheese steak... Phenomenal steak sandwich. The sandwich alone was an amazing cheese steak, and the Mac and cheese was equally delicious on its own. Having them together made my dinner complete.
