I had a broiled flounder dinner, which came with salad, two veggies, and dessert. I ate my salad, my eggplant, and half the fish and brought the other half of my fish and my cole slaw home for lunch the next day. I did eat my coconut cream pie there as well. It was a solid, hearty diner dinner. My husband got breakfast for dinner and it was a-ok. Service was good. Enjoyed our Saturday brunch stop here on the way home from Philadelphia. Full disclosure, this was a very nostalgic meal for me. I grew up right down the road from here, so more nights than I can count were spent in the vinyl booths of Club and Phily Diners. The entire family went for breakfast items, always a good bet at any diner. All of us were happy with our choices, an omelette for me, creamed chip beef for the wife, a Belgain waffle for the older boy and pumpkin pancakes and bacon for the youngest. Service was fast and friendly, the place was clean and the coffee flowed freely. Prices were higher than I expected, but where isn't that true any more? I haven't been to the Club Diner in probably 20 years, even though I live close by. I grew up in Bellmawr, so we went here all the time, back in the day. Let me just say, it still looks the same to me. The menu is huge, it took us a while to decide what to get. My husband had the cheesesteak, which he said was really good, the fries were good too. A fantastic little diner that's got all the comfort food trappings a diner should have. My family and I came around lunch time en route to NYC, pretty hungry. Service was good and fast. Our server was an older gentleman who gave us a little background on how long this diner/establishment had been open and a bit of background about well known guests of the diner (apparently Rhonda Roussey had been there the week before). We ordered mostly from the lunch specials. I got the chopped beef steak with mushrooms and mashed potatoes. It also came with a choice of soup or salad and I got the clam chowder. There was also a dessert included and I went with chocolate pudding. My soup was very filling and delicious, so much so I had to pack up half my lunch entree to go. The chopped beef steak was pretty tasty too. This place seems like the kind of place that attracts both locals and travelers passing by. I unfortunately moved to the south where diners are a thing, but they aren't THE THING like they are up north. Imagine my excitement when I saw Club Diner on the drive to our hotel. Open 24/7 with an impressive menu? We're going! (No idea who the host was who sat us, but he was handsome as I don't know what.) Anyway. Our server was Denise. Absolute sweetheart. Very attentive when it came to checking in on us, but she wasn't overbearing and was a very welcoming person. Super prompt in everything she did. We ran out of nothing during our meal. Like I said, the menu was very impressive, but that's most diner menus. My go-tos for any diner during my first visit are beef liver, pork chops, or chicken francaise/francese. If they have two of the three, I'm doing good. This diner had all three! On one page of the menu, the chicken francaise was $17.59. On another, it was $14.99. I asked what the difference was and Denise came back from the manager and said there wasn't, so I would get charged the cheaper price. Wonderful! That got her an extra tip. I ordered my chicken francaise (which is a complete meal, no vegetables on the side) with penne. My coworker got the prime rib, medium rare, with greens and a baked potato with butter and sour cream. We enjoyed our soups (tomato for me, seafood bisque with Old Bay seasoning for him) and bread during our short wait. When I say that my week was made, that's an understatement. Four decently sized chicken cutlets sautéed in a eggy, lemony sauce on top of a bed of perfectly cooked penne? Ugh. And the red bell peppers in the sauce were delicious! They stood out with this grilled, charred flavor. Oh my goodness, so tasty. I watched my coworker take one bite of his prime rib and it looked like he had been teleported to another dimension. He let me taste it so I could experience the euphoria and wow. I've had some prime rib in the past, but this was just... wow. So tender! Seasoned just right with a good amount of fat! How do you get something so right? We were so stuffed and happy that we completely forgot dessert was included. I peeped something neon green being served to another table so I asked for that. My coworker got the Italian rum cake. I ended up with a delightful scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream topped with whipped cream. It was really good! But that Italian rum cake? You could smell the rum coming off of it! Three layers of nothing but soft, creamy, and smooth cake... Hmm~ All of this wonderfulness for... $15.98. Come on now! My coworker got iced tea so his came to $20... but are you serious? Where else can you get this much for a bargain? Soup or salad, a bread basket, an entree with two vegetables, and desseeeeeeeert! I ordered this with fried onions which the wrap did not have on it. I asked the waitress twice for Mayo and finally got it. Stopped here on a trip south. It's right off the NJ Turnpike do it's convenient. They have a good menu with some creative items. Do not go here if you're dining alone, they don't want you. I was on my way home from a concert and stopped in. The hostess was negative right from the start, and went downhill from there. They want tables of at least 2 people, preferably 4. Even with empty tables, people who arrived after me were served. The hostess kept saying they were short staffed, but there were several servers waiting on other tables. It's unusual for a Greek-owned restaurant to be so inhospitable, but that seems to be the case. So if you're in a party of four and look like a local, it looked pretty good.
