The two female bartenders were just flawless. Fun, knowledgeable, and efficient. Their brews are superb, especially the Social Outcast NEIPA - one of the best ever tasted. I also tried their Dump Run, a Maple Brown Ale and their Cosmic Drift. Food wise, Sole Track rocks. Their menu even has Puerto Rican specialties with plátanos and the Arroz con Habichuelas, a bean and vegetable stew. Nowhere else in the North Country have I seen that. As well, Trinidadian curry garbanzos and cucumber are on the menu. For the meat eater, Carnitas tacos and Barbecue Pork sandwiches are also available. After being seated, we sat for about 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. When our waitress finally came over, she also seemed unhappy to be there and gave us a halfhearted greeting. When I politely asked how she was, she replied, "This night is almost over." Not exactly the warm welcome you hope for when you're out spending money on dinner. Throughout the meal, she made several comments about the night being almost over and reminded us that we needed to order anything else we wanted before the kitchen closed. It was 8:30 on a Friday night, so this felt more like we were being rushed out than served. The final bill for two gin and tonics, one martini, the clam strip appetizer, a cup of chowder, and a half salad came to about $100 including tip, plus a ridiculous $3 charge for using a credit card. The food was good, but at those prices, the service needs to be much better. Good clam strips can only do so much heavy lifting. We may come back, but next time we'll probably sit at the bar, where it's harder to be ignored and where the bartender has always been friendly. My suggestion to management would be simple: the kitchen is doing its job, but the front of house needs to make guests feel welcome, not like they're an inconvenience.

The first beer was $6 and I left a $1 tip, the second beer he recommended - the most expensive beer they had, I think $8 or $9(whatever, it was really good) and I left another $1 tip. The charge I had a few days later was $14 for the second beer. It wasn't a mistake, the bartended deliberately overcharged. I wonder how many people don't check their credit card charges just to have this place skimming money from their tabs?
