Really only a 2.5 stars. I had heard good things about the place and when I lived next to it for a couple of years I saw how busy it used to be. But after I tried it, I have to ask why or what happened to it. Maybe the reason they started taking reservations. What place with a bar closes at 8 pm on a Saturday night??? Plenty of room in the dining room for our group. Service was friendly and professional. Menu is probably too big for their kitchen. Portions are a good size but the food was underwhelming. I was torn between the Monte Cristo sandwich, beef stroganoff, and lobster mac & cheese. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich and the guy next to me ordered the beef stroganoff. The sandwich's turkey was too thick and the raspberry sauce was thin and runny. The onion rings were not worth warming up the next day. The beef stroganoff didn't have egg noodles and the meat looked more like hamburger meat than steak chunks. I wasn't impressed so I will not be back. read more

The best thing about this place is the food. You can drink and watch sports here but its not much of a "sports bar" vibe since it closes at 8. That's fine. As long time customer who usually with wife sits at bar for dinner 3 times per month have seen lately spots at bar kinda reserved by placing full,iced water glasses in front of seats. So we got there at 5 pm 4 open seats but all had full water glasses at them. We sat at table and wondered when spaces would be taken over by paying customers well finally at 5:45 2 different customers groups showed up. This is a great bar for food. Homemade everything and great service, plenty of space for larger groups, and you don't have to make a reservation. Perfect. They have an area that is more inside, and an area with lots of windows as well. The mushroom soup they make on Fridays and Saturdays is an absolute must - it is so delicious, I'd return just for that. Made with fresh mushrooms, cream and butter; it's perfectly seasoned and came out piping hot - I just wish I'd gotten a bowl rather than a cup! Topped with yummy seasoned croutons, it's honestly one of the best soups I've had at a restaurant, let alone a bar. If you love mushroom soup, you must go get this. We both had margaritas, which were on the sweet side, but not overly so, and they make their mix. I had the patty melt and fries, and my Mom had the turkey reuben and sweet potato fries. Both were absolutely top notch. Excellent fresh bread, fresh cut potatoes fried crispy, and high quality meats. My burger was actually seasoned and so juicy; perfectly cooked medium well. The turkey on the reuben is real - none of that processed lunchmeat garbage. Everything came out fast and was hot and fresh off the grill and out of the fryer. Peterlin's is a perfect bar lunch, and their entree menu also looked really good - they have a ton of options, though not very vegetarian friendly, so be aware of that. If I lived closer, I'd for sure be a regular, and whenever I'm in Farmington, I'm definitely coming here. read more

I really like this place and the food is good. Staff is really nice, too. I have to say tho, today the power went out but they allowed us to come in and have a drink. I'd say there were about 10 people in the restaurant. The owner was sitting at the bar. When the electricity came on he jubilantly yelled, "Yes!" That was cool but then he kept saying the "f" word loudly several times. Not necessary and so unprofessional. Disappointing. Show a little restraint please. read more

The salad with salmon rocks! The Cuban sandwich is unlike those served in Little Havana (Miami). It is certainly tasty, but is better described as inspired-by ... the pork is cubed, the ham is deli sliced, the bun is a regular hoagie roll and not pressed. We started out for another restaurant in the same little strip mall, but we couldn't tell if they had table service or not. So, we decided to go to Peterlin's instead. I'd been wanting to try it, but, for some reason, I had the idea that it was fancy. It was not. In fact, it's pretty casual, what with the open ceilings and such. And I liked that they didn't have the televisions on. I don't know the name of the salad I had, but it had a generous portion of lightly fried chicken, on top of a chopped salad with bacon, cheese, cucumbers and other vegetables. They were chopped VERY small, which was interesting. It was quite a large salad, so I took half of it home. My sister ordered an Asian chicken salad that also looked lovely, with grilled chicken, mandarin oranges and berries on a bed of chopped salad vegetables. And they had the most delicious iced tea! My sister rarely finishes her iced tea, but she drank a glass and a half of this! (She gave me half a glass.) I'm sure we will come back here. It was quite a nice surprise! read more

We came here Friday night with some friends. I've never been here but we have done carry out. She's been here for work and things but we've just never made it here together. During the second power outing snowstorm in a week, we were treated to some snowyhunder and lightning during dinner. We arrived first, and were seated right away, ordered beverages until everyone else showed. I ordered the Whiskey Salmon, with mushroom soup, she had the Buffalo Shrimp Pasta with a side salad. She really liked the Buffalo Shrimp, and I did like the salmon but the glaze was too sweet and had no whiskey flavor. All in all it was good but I would try something else next time. read more

It's a big spot. We sat on the bar side. Kelsey is waiting on us. She is pleasant. We started off with homemade guacamole, Asian salmon salad and a Turkey cobb. Both salads with sweet chili dressing on the side. I added one fried goat cheese to my Cobb salad. The guacamole was okay. The corn chips were super fresh and really crunchy and slightly salty. The guacamole didn't look so homemade to me. The Asian salmon salad was good. The sweet chili dressing is quite sweet. This was my first Cobb salad. I should have read the menu closer as there was quite a bit of small, my husband said crunchy bacon bits on one side of the salad. It was a pain to have to pick them all out, but that was my bad and my miss on reading the contents of this salad. The salad otherwise was decent. None of the dressings did it for me. Have patronized this place over the past 3years and have seen a steady decline of the food quality. While the prices have increased considerably, the quality has gone in the opposite direction. My friend and I were here for lunch a few days ago. Stephanie was our server, and she is amazing. She's very knowledgeable about the menu and just overall very pleasant. The cheesesteak eggrolls and shrimp New Orleans were our favorite dishes. The cheddar ale pork chops are a hard pass. It's my fault for thinking who would just spread cheddar cheese on top of a pork chop so I thought it must be a type of sauce. I was sadly mistaken. It is literally a gob of cheese and caramelized onions on top of a pork chop. Just no on those. My friend ordered the pot roast dinner to go for her husband, and he said it was bland and only ate a little of it, but he did enjoy the pheasant soup. read more

Food is above average. Fish & Chips is excellent. Meat Loaf was recommended by another diner but had a floral taste and I couldn't detect any onions in it. They have 2 salad sizes the reg. salad is enough to feed a farm animal, but the 'Z' salad which is cheaper is perfectly adequate. Ask for it to be served in a bowl, since they 'try' to serve it on a mini plate and it falls all over the table. Nice atmosphere but the older people in there tend to scream when they talk. Farmington Hills has a lot of older and middle-aged people. Chef is highly recommended and I can't to try his other dishes. read more

Peterlins strikes me like the kind of relationship you have with someone who doesn't want to offend anyone and, in doing so, you don't know who they really are. The interior is charcoal grey. I chose Peterlin's as the venue for a memorial luncheon for a family member on Saturday afternoon. It was the perfect choice. The space was warm and attractive, the service very attentive, and the food on the buffet delicious and plentiful. The owner, Zach Peterlin, was responsive, kind, and flexible. We had a private room, which fits about 80. If we had had more people, we could have spilled over into the adjacent room where the bar is. I've been here twice. I only gave it a second chance because the people I was with wanted to go there. The food was lousy. One time, I got crab dip but before I ordered, I asked if it were made with real crab or the artificial stuff. The waitress assured me it was real. It was "krab"--so gross. read more

Good food when they are open. Close early every night and not open on Sundays. We like to eat on the later side and they are closed by 8. Wide variety of options so something for everyone.
