This place is a nice place to eat. The menu seems pretty wide with soups, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, stir fry's, etc. food is always good with a generous portion size. If your looking for five star waitstaff with one guy filling your water glass and another bringing bread you won't find it here. Here feels more like your moms kitchen. Prices are pretty decent so don't expect to be overcharged. Place seems clean with many older clients (for those that understand what that means). They are open long hours (8 - 8) so you can come for breakfast (i have breakfast here once a week) or dinner. Nice solid place for a meal. You don't need to put on a Tuxedo. The staff was very friendly here. Do yourself a favor and just stick with the soups. That tends to be their best bet. Otherwise they have quite a list of foods they offer and everything else is subpar at best. I will say though it's nice to see friendly wait staff. read more

Horrible experience.... Corned beef hash is canned ( which is fine) but then they mix it with their hash browns ( to save money? Not sure) but it ends up as tasteless pink potatoes... nasty.... Burnt toast... over medium eggs... were over well...broasted chicken was so tough I had to spit out the breast because I couldn't chew it.... Fish and chips .... They give you four pieces... they should because they are the size of fish sticks.... Chicken lemon rice was way too sour.... Overall bad experience..... one and done....whoever is cooking back there should be canned..... I've eaten at Dearborn and it was always good... not sure why this place sucked so bad....we left hungry and grabbed fast food on the way home.... read more

Leon's is old school. Diner feel with so many regular's. Been coming here for about 25 years....same waitresses people! Has my favorite sausage links, yes, I know, a sausage link is a sausage link....but not these tasty little porkers, so mild, so savory, I always order extra! This is the smaller of the two "Leon's" located oddly enough directly across the street from each other (I think they are brothers or cousins or something). I think the pictures displayed on this review as well as the first reviewers review, are of the larger of the two Leon's. The prices are great, the food is decent, and the service is good. Hats off to the busboy who is not a kid and who is right on the ball, and is the only one who clears tables, all day every day by himself AND he gets you your first beverages when you get there...now that is what I would call a hard worker!!! The food is ready pretty quick and the ambiance is just as you would expect from a diner...the friendly regulars and the "not" regulars. There are no "staple" dishes here, just regular ole diner stuff coupled with daily specials and the soups of the day and breakfast bar on the weekends. I would recommend this to someone looking for a decent neighborhood diner to just chill out and have an inexpensive full service meal. read more

Food was excellent. It's the staff that was TERRIBLE! It was my first time ever coming to Leon's and I ordered a Chicken Sandwhich. On the website it includes mayo. I asked for ranch on the side with my entree as well. Neither the sandwhich or my order came with what I wanted and paid for. When I called back, the cashier that took my order said she was sorry she didn't hear me, when I called back saying that it was wrong. I asked for a manager on the phone and he said he would do whatever it took to make it right. So I ordered a different item instead. When I got there - the rude lady with black hair asked me if I ordered something different and I said yes. She places it on the counter in front of me instead of handing it to me - being petty. She said "oh honey I have nothing to worry about" when I said I was leaving a bad review. Sucks this was my first time - I went out of my way because of the good reviews for this restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant, we immediately felt as if we had already been here. Well, that's because it's identical to the Leon's on Ford Road in Garden City, same set up and service. We miss out on watermelon and waffles. Their breakfast buffet is nothing like the Leon's in Dearborn! He yells at his waiting staff loudly for customers to hear and walked past me several times without acknowledging me. After I said hi to see if I could get a response from him...! We went here Dec. 6, 1017, for family members after funeral luncheon. The price was very reasonable. We had roast beef, mostacoli, baked chicken, mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. We brought our own cake. They also had salad and rolls. All the coffee and pop was included. The gal that waited on us was fabulous. She even cut up the cake for us. The food was not the best I ever had, but also not the worst. It was nice and hot and everyone seemed happy with it. I had set this up ahead of time, and only had to put $50 down. read more

Leon's is a moderate priced dining establishment, that me and my mom switch up and attend every now and then. I believe they have two actual restaurants, but this one we go to for lunch or dinner. It's a spacious spot, and I especially like the soup buffet they have, and their sourdough bread. If dining here I would recommend the roasted chicken, or maybe even the BBQ. Food was good and inexpensive. Servers were friendly and attentive. They serve breakfast until at least noon and specials prices till noon also. Only thing I could fault them on is cleanliness. It wasn't disgusting but they could be more conscious of cleaning the tables and the floors. Also it is time to update the furniture. Leon's (owners' last name) Family Dining has a number of locations throughout the Detroit metro area, run by several brothers. These guys have fed the homeless by the 1,000s for many years at Thanksgiving for free. My favorite location is in Livonia. It's a diner, warm and friendly with a staff that has been there for years. Always filled with retirees who know a good deal, the three daily homemade soups and fresh-made rolls are always part of whatever you order. The food is good, plentiful and promptly served by familiar waitresses. Prices are very reasonable. After awhile this place can become your very own "Cheers" where everybody knows your name. read more

This is for the bigger one. The food was very bad over cooked and tasteless. It was not worth what I paid. I grew up down the street. Have been there a few times it has gone downhill. Staff is not good and would rather talk to each other than take your order. Hostice was nice and good vary helpful she waited on us more than our server. I will not go back. Well I have lived in the area for 20 years I used to come here for breakfast once a week until about 3yrs ago when I came in and had a horrible meal I asked for over medium eggs hash browns well done and bacon crispy which I always have and anybody knows especially the cook that over medium means whites cooked through and yolks runny,well done hash browns means browned through and bacon crispy means not soggy greasy bacon, well when I cut into the egg the whites weren't cooked through and were clear(that totally grosses me out!)the hash browns were hardly browned and more like scalloped potatoes and the bacon was greasy and limp. I had my waitress send it back to be remade the way that I had asked originally and came back eggs totally overcooked,hash browns and bacon massacred! I didn't go there for a while because of this incident.then a few months later I tried again this time I went in and sat down and was waiting and waiting and waiting and no one was acknowledging I was there I sat for almost 5mins while several waitresses walked past and still no acknowledge of my presence,and they weren't even busy! Well needless to say I ended up getting up and leaving. I didn't go back for 3 years until yesterday when I thought I would give it try once again. Well...same stuff different year,ordered same thing and same thing happened the food came out not as I ordered the toast wasnt even toasted. I will never come here again and will be sure to spread the word to everyone I can to stay as far away from this place as you can to avoid wasting your hard earned money on a horrible meal. read more
