I saw a Youtube video about the smash burger craze in LA. For the win was included. Loved the story how it started during the COVID-19 lockdown (look it up, great story!). Anyway, that was enough to give it a try. Had no idea they have so many locations. That's awesome. Here we go with the Highland Park location review. Parking: Small lot and you better be good at maneuvering your car because you'll likely have to do some dodging and weaving because of how it's laid out. Not a lot of spaces. Plenty of metered street parking nearby so that's an option, too. Love the space. They have done a perfect job laying it out. The music was way too loud but I asked them to turn it down and they kindly obliged (my friend and I were the only ones there). The music was excellent, by the way. You can order on a touch screen, but a super kind and friendly employee took our order at the register. Take note, for drinks, they are all canned soft drinks or water bottle. No fountain drinks or ice to go with your soft drink. They also have shakes by the way. We ordered cheeseburgers, fries and Brussels sprouts. Cheeseburger: $9.90. Smashed real good! More burger than bun. Speaking of bun, it's a great bun. Not too bready and its warm and not dry, Seasonings and toppings were perfect. I ordered extra onions and had onion breath all day to prove it. Worth it!! So good!! Fries: $5.25. Nice and crispy. Nothing notable. A little pricey. Brussels sprouts: $8.45. Excellent! Pricey, but tasty! Verdict: A mighty fine smash burger. Worth a try. Not cheap, but you'll enjoy it.

Great smash burgers! Came in for their grand opening. Inside is simple and clean. Decent amount of seating. I got the double cheeseburger and some brussel sprouts. So good! Great charred bits at the edges and cheesy in the middle. Brussel sprouts are a great option and made me feel like I was eating at least a little bit healthier lol. Great addition to the neighborhood. Will definitely be coming back. Service was good. Friendly staff. There's a small parking lot in front, meters on the street, or a meter lot across the street.

i'm not gonna score anything less than than three, which for me is OK at best. I don't see myself rushing back over here. It just wasn't an overwhelming gotta have another for the wind burger moment.. First time here and when I opened the door, I literally thought I stepped onto the revolution Boulevard in Tijuana. The music was so loud so blaring you couldn't even hear yourself. Talk to the next person beside you.. this is an all American burger joint and there's Mexican music blaring like we should have chips and salsa and margaritas. Don't get me wrong. I love diversity, but I think he kind of might want to rethink that one. Or the least you could do is turn it down a little bit.. If we're a first time person, it was a little hard for me to figure out where the menu was what you had to offer how the ordering process was I just kind of stood there like a dare headlight. Your crew wasn't very welcoming. They seemed very robotic and their mannerism.. And I seen that things were kind of à la cart, which is something I'll never quite understand in a burger joint like this. So I got the double with bacon and a strawberry shake and I gotta tell you I'm shocked at the price point for the size of the burger and the size of the shake. It was really interesting to see.. And I'm gonna be honest with you the burger was OK. I ate it. Shake was OK. I drank it.. But there was absolutely nothing with that burger that I could not do it in my own kitchen. Nothing was special about the meat. Nothing was special about the bun and you have the audacity to charge that price point and then say here is your condiments on the table dress it yourself.?? I just don't get it, but I wish you well. And you might want to do a little something to bring some color, some vibe into your dining area. It was very vanilla.

Finally got to try this new spot in town! The service was great! The burger was on point! The fries were on the salty side for me but they were good! Definitely check it out!

Stopped by to try this new place it was late in the day so we ordered light got a double cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato, fries and a grilled cheese. My husband had the burger and fries he said the burger was super oily the fries were ok. I got the grilled cheese oh and it was like a child's size super small ( I don't eat meat) and I couldn't even eat the Brussels sprouts or fries because they're cooked in beef tallow . The guy behind the register was a bit snappy the place was nice but won't be going back.

Food was great. I noticed there was a kiosk for me to order on my own because I like pictures so I used it but the person at the front was kind enough to ask if I needed any help anyways. Ambiance is simple, but the design is nice in my opinion. Everything was clean. I would honestly invite everyone to check them out and rate them according to your own opinion. I really wasn't planning on going here but they exceeded my expectations. The burger was amazing, the shake was amazing. I will be coming back again next time to bring my family and friends because this place was awesome. If you're a solo diner sometimes, this place is great for you, I enjoyed it.

    Double cheeseburger and fries

My first visit was not great and the owner very graciously gave me a coupon to give them a second chance. The young lady who helped me was aces and this was a much better experience but honestly, I just don't understand the hype. The double cheeseburger and fries were fine but not only was it not the best burger in LA as many on social media have claimed, I didn't think it was even as good as a double double and it's three times the price. I wish them well and grateful to the owner for doing right by the first experience but, unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning.

We stopped in on a Sunday around 11:30, no line and very quick service! Finished eating and left around 12:05 so we must've lucked out with no line. We got two double cheese burgers and the loaded fries. The burger had impressively thin patties with a really nice char on the meat skirt, well seasoned, and perfectly crispy. The buns were quite small and a bit smooshed, but they were soft. It came with some fry sauce and pickles as well, overall a good burger. The fries had a good amount of toppings (cheese onions, fry sauce) and were nice and crispy. Kinda wish the onions were slightly more grilled for some extra flavor! Would probably go for plain next time as the loaded fries and burger together had similar flavors The interior has a few benches for seating and single bar type seating around the perimeter - I could see it filling up if there's a big line of people. The Big Mac stays the same. I went to LA to taste, apparently, the best burger in LA at For the Win. I paid $25 for two smash burgers and had high expectations. After all, when you click this joint on Google Maps, a fancy review pops up. Nice! However, when the smash burger entered my cave and caressed my buds, my mind instantly recognized it as a Big Mac. Therefore, my brain could hardly differentiate between a McDonalds burger, and the "best" burger in LA. I haven't eaten at McDonalds in 14 years, but my mind still knew what a gentle and warm face looks like. So overall, it was alright! As the reverend Shane Gillis says "Not Bad". The service was good tho. And the ambiance was a bit weird because the music was off. Haha bye!!!

Parking: Street parking was super easy on a Sunday afternoon, I was able to pull up right in front and park on the street. There is a Super A across the street and ample parking around for free. Ambiance & Food: This reminds me of an old school burger stand. Those were the best burgers and this one did not stop that trend. As I walked up, we were warmly greeted and given a quick rundown of what which burger. They did have specials (I will get to that in a second) which we were intrigued, but for the sake of perspective, I ordered the Goldburger and both regular fries and curly fries with a bottle coke. The Goldburger is naturally a double, but my gymrat protein brain added that extra patty. They use a 70% to 30% mixture for their burger which makes the burger oh so decadent. The picture I took doesn't do it justice. The moment you bite into the burger the combination of burger juice, aioli, burnt skirt, all come together in such a harmonious fashion. It was remarkable. Though fries are not one of my strong points, both fries were crispy and I haven't had any other experience with Curly fries other than Jack in the Box, but these were so much better. I went ahead and dipped the fries in some homemade Aioli and dang, what a combo! Back to those specials, the current special is CHILI, I was intrigued so they gave me a small container of it to try. Man, if I wasn't watching my caloric intake, that would have been the move. It was rich and chunky and not to soggy which some always comes. Give it a try as they said it will be around for sometime. Other than burgers, they do have hot dogs as well. So worth trying both next time. To be perfectly honest, this brought back so much nostalgia for me, I used to go to school in the area and this brought a lot of those memories back. I happened to be in the area, and even though I'd already eaten, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to finally drop in. Irv's originally opened in 1946 as Queen's Burgers, located right on Route 66 on Santa Monica Boulevard in WeHo, and was deeply ingrained in LA's historic car culture. In 1970, Irv Genis bought the stand and renamed it Irv's Burgers, and it quickly became a legendary late-night spot for rock icons like Bob Dylan and Jim Morrison. By 2000, Sonia Hong took over, famously hand-drawing doodles on the paper plates alongside her signature slogan, "Just for you." After closing in 2013 and again in 2018, Lawrence Longo partnered with Sonia in 2021 to bring the brand back to life. They've since expanded quite a bit, even opening locations in Malibu and Las Vegas. On a staff recommendation, I ordered Irv's Original Roadside Burger Double ($11.25). Honestly, it was just okay. While a certain amount of grease and salt is expected with a burger, this one crossed the line into being a bit too salty and oily. On the bright side, the sesame bun was excellent, and I loved that they kept Sonia's legacy alive by printing her classic doodles on the tray placemats. While I'm glad Irv's was saved from history and is expanding, the food itself felt pretty so-so. The outdoor tables were also a bit dirty during my visit. I still love that classic roadside burger stand aesthetic with the outdoor stools, but unfortunately, I won't be in a rush to head back.

The order pick up window person shouted my name to the kitchen each time I checked in. Finally the 3rd time they responded, they start arguing, apparently my order was done a long time ago, and it was given to someone else. It took 30min to figure out that my order had already been done and given to someone else because there was no communication between the kitchen, order staff or pick up staff. no apology, just got my food after the argument 3minutes later...Food was average, definitely not worth a 30min wait.
