Amazing, delicious, fast and incredibly friendly. My husband and I love love love Pete's. We have been here every Saturday for breakfast since we discovered this great little diner. The green chili is scrumptiously spicy and the biscuits and gravy are the best I have eaten since I moved to Colorado from the south 15 years ago. Moving our way through the menu and we have yet to order anything that we haven't devoured (the French toast is awesome too!). Busy when I went there so I sat at the counter. Took too long to get my food and then my breakfast was terrible, eggs overcooked, toast to toasted, cool sausage (which is deep fried so you know). NO ONE ASKED me how my meal was so I put my napkin over my food, pushed it to the edge of the counter and waited. Eventually, my server asked me how my meal was, so I told how disappointed I was with the results. So I told them, their next step was to hand me my bill which I gladly paid. As you might expect - you get entertainment from their interactions to accompany your meal. I enjoy it but some people may not depending on your heritage. The service was excellent. I pass by Pete's Cafe every morning around 6:30 AM while driving my school bus to the first stop and he is slaving back in the kitchen getting the place ready to open. I ate there once with a friend a couple of years ago. Good standard breakfast, but I need to sample some of his other offerings, especially the Greek stuff. Consistently great. Our choice for brunch multiple times each month. We usually end up ordering one of the skillets. Both the Pete's and Greek varieties are delicious. The food, though, is what we cared most about: always fresh, hot, good portions, and very tasty! We tried Pete's Cafe today! Went to the Thornton location, which is easy to find. I haven't been to Pete's on Colfax for years, but remembered it was good. This location still has the Greek influence, but also has pretty tasty green chili! We tried the Greek skillet, which was awesome, and the breakfast burrito which was also good. I would give Petes 3 stars, but the service was lousy. Our server messed up the order twice, and was difficult to find throughout the meal. Went to this restaurant and was very disappointed. It was very small it only seats about 15 people my wife and I stood at the register for 10 minutes since there was no available seating. The staff was short handed and we observed customers helping themselves to coffee, silverware, etc.., in the waitress station. This smaller man I assumed was the owner was yelling at his staff.
