Great food. Service is always good and no matter what you eat, you go away satisfied.

While in the area we were hungry for a hearty southern breakfast. The Feed Bag was just the place we needed. Ample southern-style breakfast choices, affordable prices, large portions, and friendly employees. Our waitress, I did not catch her name, was amazing. She was always there when you needed something and kept our beverage cups filled. We were in a hurry and able to order quickly. They do offer takeout, but we decided on dine in. The right door is for takeout and the left is for dine in, but no worries if you go in the wrong door. We went in the takeout door and then changed our mind. Nevertheless we were greeted upon arrival and informed that we could choose our table. There were a few other parties there and several open tables. We ordered quickly and received our drinks right away. Our meal did take longer than we thought it would. It was piping hot, salty, and delicious. I chose the corned beef hash. Both our entrees were supposed to come with hash browns. We received cubed potatoes instead, but were not disappointed. We both like those potatoes better than hash browns. When ready to pay, you can pay at your table or at the counter. Overall, we had a satisfying, tasty meal here and recommend this restaurant to others! read more

Service was awesome. Delicious sweet tea. Eclectic menu. We had patty melt, bbq quesidilla, and daily special sloppy joe. Food was delicious. Only thing I'd change was didn't care for rye bread on patty melt. But that's a personal preference. When we go back I'll ask for different bread. read more

Visited this little place for lunch today, and was once again reminded that some days are diamonds, some days are stone - and this was a stone. Funky looking place inside and out, horse motif, farrier supplies for sale - very modestly furnished, peanuts on the table. They are very laid back here, very laid back - it took 30 minutes to get a cheeseburger, 2 hot dogs, and some fries. The dogs were small (Zack's in Burlington small), and the chili was a dark, dark, brown - and tasted commercially perpared They are cheap, 2 dogs and a side of pretty good fries were $4. The burger (about $5 with a side) was simply overcooked - crusty and charred on one side - not a burger that should have ever made it inside a bun. Saw on the wall that they had been written up in the November issue of Southern Living as a place that "serves up fresh, local food with no pretense..." - somebody missed the boat on that score. Under new management, this place is definitely a MUST!!! My daughter and I went on Monday, their grand reopening day for lunch and went back today, three days later for more deliciousness. Prices are extremely reasonable and I would highly recommend the Clydesdale Burger! read more

Stopped in at the suggestion of a friend. The restaurant is a converted gas station. Plenty of nostalgia pieces on the wall. Very nice. Had the turkey sub with pepper jack and Swiss. The sandwich also has sautéed onions and peppers. IT WAS DELICIOUS! I had the seasonal fruit (watermelon) which was fresh and sweet. My buddy had a hamburger that looked outstanding. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. Expect to pay $6-$8 for lunch, which isn't bad when you consider the food here is GOOD. This place is a little out of the way but worth the scenic drive. Give it a try. You'll be glad you did. read more

This restaurant is located in the corner Johnson store business that was a fond hangout for many Farmington folk over the past century. Little trivia- in the 70's you could open the top doors of a Coca-Cola refrigerator chest and pull out a perfectly chilled soda, in a bottle of course, pop the lid and the most magical think happened...the drink was slightly slushed....perfect refreshing drink ever!!!! Especially after an intense practice in 6-8th grade basketball! After the Johnsons closed their doors (due to their age limitations) they left their friendly atmosphere with the building! Well this is one happening little place in Davie County! Got there at 12:45 and had to wait for a parking spot. Saw school personnel, work trucks, sheriff's officers -- all the people who know good places to eat. The service was enthusiastic and they were so helpful and willing to please. Even as crowded as it was we were served promptly, water glasses refilled, not a missed beat. My dining companions each ordered burgers and I was seriously jealous - they looked SO good. They really liked them. Carolina Burger and a BYOB. I was jealous until I took a bite of the massive homemade chicken salad sandwich I ordered. That chicken salad is delicious. On soft wheat bread with lettuce and a good summer tomato. We all got fries as our sides. All of our lunches were under $7 - you just can't beat that. Only tiny complaint I have is the noise level - which is pretty high with a lot of people in the same room and hard floors. It added to the spirit of the place though - it's all in the attitude. I saw several salads being served and I will definitely be back for one of those - they looked great! They serve breakfast up until 10:30, so I'm going to keep that in mind for a weekend treat. Disappointed! Fried shrimp not bad but grease settled in puddles in plate. Fried flounder over cooked and mi nimal portion. Cole slaw in tiny relish cup. Hush puppies inedible. Sorry, we'll not be back. read more

Had the cheeseburger and homemade chips. They were very good although the hamburger was just a little overcooked and crusty on the outside. The service was lousy. Even though we were the only customers in there at the time, we were only waited on after some other customers came in and they were waited on first! We ran out of tea and had to motion to the waitress to bring us more. Even though the food was good, we probably won't go back because of the poor service there. read more
