    Chicken hoagie
    Vicky B.

Ever since I tried Pete's Hoagies at a Yelp event, I've been following his page and just waiting to get my hands on another delicious hoagie. Well today was my lucky day, as I got the chicken hoagie which oh my goodness was delicious! Chicken. Cooked Mushrooms. Lettuce. Tomatoes. Mayo. And cheesey goodness, oh yeah! Highly recommend!

Stumbled upon here as I was searching for hidden gems. It's a shame more people don't know about this kitchen. Came in on a Saturday night around 7pm. Ordered the Blackened shrimp po boy and the Szechuan Udon with shrimp which has noodles stir fried & tossed with veggies in a spicy Szechuan inspired sauce. Both were tasty. Seasoned beautifully. Had lovely colored and delivered with every bite. Honestly it was so good that two hours later I came back and ordered food for my family. They licked the plate clean. I got them the Creole Seafood Eggrolls and the southern fried shrimp po boy. There's a few seats outside the restaurant but most people take it to go it looks like. Tell your friends. Tell your family. Slide thru. It won't disappoint. Plus it's Black owned. Bonus info! If you don't wanna order in person you can get it with grubhub, door dash, and other delivery platform

We were looking for cajun food and stumbled upon this hidden gem. When I say hidden, its hidden tucked inside an old industrial building (with zero street signage) that now houses a bunch of pop up culinary surprises. On the second floor tucked in the back corner you will find Far East Bayou. This casual take out restaurant, is a fusion of Southern New Orleans and Korean flavors. The chef was extremely friendly and ready to take us down his culinary journey down the bayou. I ordered a bunch of different dishes for my husband and I to sample: Shrimp Bo Poy - blackened, shrimp po boy- fried, crab hush puppies and honey cajun udon noodles. Everything was extremely flavorful! The sauces were out of this world. They had a nice spice on them. Not a spice that sets your mouth on fire, but spice that is flavorful and enhances everything else on the plate. The fried shrimp was super crispy and the cornmeal breading was perfectly seasoned. My only complaint is the preparation of the shrimp. The shrimp are prepared with their tails on, which made it difficult to eat. We had to dig through the sauces and toppings to find each shrimp and pull the tails off . I learned the owner makes his own kimchi, which is made using more spices and vegetables and less fish. He allowed me to sample some, and I will be dreaming about this kimchi tonight! I will definitely be coming back to try their rotating specials menu, and grab some more kimchi!

Stormin' Crab offers their blue crabs one of two ways: Either added as a side to any boil (topped with your favorite seasonings), or served as a fried crab basket. The oyster appetizer (sold as six or twelve) can be raw or grilled. I adore them raw, and these are Bluepoints! They were plump, glistening, and had a great sweet and briney flavor. My husband's gumbo was thick with rice and andouille sausage, with baby shrimp. It also had a powerful black pepper kick. Very tasty! The boil arrived on a stainless steel platter in a large plastic bag, ballooned out with steam. We had chosen the butter, medium spicy. I thought the saltiness overpowered the flavor of the seafood, but your mileage may vary. Combo C had so much food we took a third of it home! We really enjoyed our meal here!

We ordered the cajun mix for crawfish and snow crab and garlic butter snow crab. All the boils are doused full of butter flavored oil (not real butter) which didn't allow for any flavor to reach your tongue or the meat. I may be spoiled with real Louisiana and Texas crawfish and seafood boils but the oil was so unpleasant. The crawfish was oily, flavorless, and tasted dirty. The crab was probably presalted and just reheated in the boil. I asked for some cajun seasoning and salt to sprinkle on top but there was just too much oil. I am disappointed with this type of boil and hope I can find a more traditional type with no oil somewhere in Buffalo.
