Went to pay the bill and asked about military discount and was told only 100% disabled or uniformed militants could receive it. Worst dining experience in years. Grew up enjoying this place and have generally enjoyed it over the years, drove in from Colorado to visit family and had a terrible experience. We were seated around 2:00pm about 20 min latter I called the front desk and asked for a manager because we had yet to see a server. The manager said someone would be right in, a few minutes later our "waitress" came in with the worst attitude I've seen in years. Unapologetic blamed her team for not letting her know we were there (she walked by us at least three times) and acted like it was a huge inconvenience. The spagetti was poor, my wife only ate one of her ravioli . Our sons thought the spagetti was bad. They put a birthday party in the same room with us and it was loud with children running in and out of the dining room. Even if the food was decent we could not enjoy it. This was one of the more expensive meals we had on a 17 day vacation and everyone one of us agreed that this was the worse meal we had on the trip. My husband and I made a road trip from OKC to Pete's. The restaurant was easy to find. When we entered the lobby was empty but they took our name and for some reason we waited about 15 minutes. I guess to clean a table for us. The table was in a private room. I am not sure if all seating was this way. It was ok just unusual. We ordered the lasagna and the grilled sausage. The lasagna was excellent. My husband ordered and liked the sausage. The meal was started with a salad. The salad was drenched in dressing. The meal came with a huge ball of spaghetti and sauce, two ravioli that were so so. Way too much spagetti! I did enjoy the sauce. We shared a tiramisu. It was ok, not great. Every restaurant review nearby and here talked of " lamb fries" so we had to try them: lamb testicles, but too big to actually BE those... Not bad but I don't need to do that again. We were from out of state and in the region for work and were curious about the "authentic" Italian and the choc-beer. Meh. Gave this place a chance after mixed reviews and should have known when more were negative than positive. DISAPPOINTED... Good: garlic bread, cheese, meatballs and water. Bad: salad, spaghetti, ravioli (really just a clump of hard dough) and sausage. Lacking a lot in flavor. My husband and I make all of this better at home and we are no chefs, trust me. We made reservations and was seated within 5 minutes of our expected time, my wife ordered a tea and I ordered one of their own craft beers (Choctoberfest) my wife's tea arrived promptly and I was told the bartender was pouring mine as our server was under 21. We looked over the menu, 5 minutes later still no beer told her to come back in a few as we were still deciding, 5 minutes later she returns, still no beer and we place our order... Now I'm thirsty and getting impatient so I flag down our server and ask to check on it again and for water... she returns with the water and informs me they are out of the beer I ordered (15-20 minutes ago)... so I try another and ask her to see if we could have it sooner (jokingly). She returns with the beer and shortly after with the entrees. I ordered the fried chicken, it was dry and the spaghetti is like watered down canned sauce, the ravioli had no flavor and the meatball is ehhh. My wife ordered the pork loin, comes with two portions, one was good and the other was still squealing *ahem* uncooked. We flagged down our server again and brought it to her attention, she took it to the kitchen and returned to tell us that they can cook another and it'd be 10 minutes... ummm no thanks, we asked for the check and found we were charged for their Italian dinner (pretty much what comes complimentary with an entree) and omitted the pork loin dinner. I've lived here 15 years and heard they were overrated and now I know from my own experience. We have dined at Pete's and Krebs' other restaurants many times for many years; But this may be the last. After a quick trip to Tulsa, we stopped at Pete's for dinner. We are seated promptly and asked server for their recommendations and was informed that everything was excellent and we could not go wrong. Well, unlike previous occasions at Pete's, the pasta was almost warm, the sauce bland and watery, the " lamb" fries were overcooked and would be better described as full grown " sheep" gonads " that had seen better times. The ravioli was cold, doughy and tasteless. But the bread, meatballs and Italian Sausage were great. The grilled sausage would have been much better served with grilled peppers and onion. The tiramisu was O.K. and imported from Chicago. The overrated craft beer is not the real choc homebrew that Pete and Pete's Place was known for and the menu says so.... So with this being said..... I would have preferred to share my comments with management but did not encounter any adults in the restaurant other than customers upon leaving. Love eating at Pete's Place! The fried chicken is the best that I have ever eaten and the rest of the groceries from the menu are just as great. I have been eating at Pete's since 1968 when I was in high school. I only have one teeny complaint and that is the ravioli are undercooked. I am not the only who thinks that about the ravioli but maybe it's because I grew up eating Chef Boyardee ravioli. Atmosphere is great, kitchen is clean, bathrooms are clean....The micro brewery is interesting and Pete's has a bar inside called the Choc Room where you can order mixed drinks, wine, food or a flight of the different beers that are brewed at the restaurant. The employees are on the ball at this place! All meals are served family style with spaghetti, meatballs, ravioli, salad and bread (that's with your choice of entree). read more

Drove all the way from Norman to eat here with my wife and when we got there about 1:45 pm in afternoon , I ordered fried chicken and wife ordered grill sauage off lunch menu , we told that we could not do that either we both ordered off lunch menu or both order off dinner menu, when I asked why the manager told me that was the policy, I ask why and she mumbled that they dont serve alcohol to minors either , I said thats against the law what does that have to do with not being able to order off two diff menus, she said if we did not like it we could go some where else.I askwhat if we sat in 2 different rooms could we order off 2 diff menus she said yes if thats what we wanted to do, I said thats stupid, she said leave then, so I ask for owners # because she was being so rude, (Her name is Atlhea or something like that) when I called number owner would answer or let us leave message. I left and stop someone in town and ask if there was some where else good to eat in town and they sent me to mama rosa and it was great and they let us order off both menus, we spent about 55 dollars that we would of spent at pete,s , I have been going to petes for over 40 years but never again and I am going to tell rest my family not to. read more

I am an equal opportunity restaurant connoisseur so I had no personal beef with this establishment until i decided to patronize it. What a 100% FAIL. From the two girls who..and I use this term loosely...."greeted" us to horrible bland food, my experience spending a considerable amount of money here was pathetic! The waitress had to be on something...fast as the Tasmanian devil, though not in a good way, clanging dishes around, spilling water....made us all very uncomfortable. Then came the food. It is one of the best places you will ever eat.You order your meat and the meal you get is the most delicious Italian Food ever eaten. Not only that you better be hungry !!!! You will be served a delicious salad, then come the spaghetti and meatballs which they make from scratch and is the homemade sauce is the best ever. along with Homemade ravioli's that you won't find anywhere.The bread is delicious and of course I nearly always order lamb fries as they are hard to find any place else and very very delicious!!! This whole krebs thing for Italian food is way overrated the Italian food here is one step up from a chain there is way better Italian food in California or the east coast where there are many good Italian restaurants New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Rhode island have the best Italian food in the USA Oklahomians do not know Italian food and it is shameful how this area is praised as good Italian food it is okay edible but far off from being great. I'm afraid Pete's is not what it used to be. We paid $80 for two adults and one kid age 7. The lobby had some grocery items from Louvera's across the street- garlic cloves in soybean oil, among other items. We had chicken parm and lamb fries. The sauce was tomato sauce poured from a can, no garlic, basil, oregano, olive oil or any other flavor I could detect. The fries were crispy but tasteless. No flavor whatsoever. I'm not sure all of them had meat in them, couldn't tell the lamb from the breading in any case. The waitress seemed unhappy to be there. The pictures were crooked. It cost us $80. And to add insult to injury, a loose kickplate on the exterior door gashed my boot on the way out. The repair is costing me $30. But at least I wasn't wearing flats or sandals- if I'd been wearing those, I'd be needing stitches. All in all, I recommend you don't ever go to Pete's. Go around the corner to Louvera's instead- skip the casciocavalli cheese. Pick up some Pomi tomatoes, garlic, basil pesto, spaghetti, italian bread and a couple of inch-thick ribeyes. Years ago we would drive up from Midwest City twitch friends and we would enjoy a nice dinner meal of anything from steak to chicken with many more choices between the two. But over time and beginning in maybe the late 90's or early Turn of the change of century's energy found the food to be less than we wanted it became more salty sauce. Now we live in McAlester and I with some of our senior staff began having lunch there because of the private rooms. I found the steaks and the spaghetti very good. After several months at lunch, I was with friends and because of a water main braking in McAleter, we headed into Krebs for dinner at Pete's Place. This was my 1st time back for an evening meal. I ordered the fried chicken because it was the. cheapest dinner they had and I was not sure if the evening meal would be any better than when we left a bit over 2 years ago. I would give this place a zero if I could. Horrible service, horrible management. Horribly overpriced. We had two ask 3 times to get the correct number of chairs for our table. They couldn't count to 12 apparently. Finally my husband had to go and get himself a chair from another room. We are served oily lettuce, a tiny cheese plate, and bread that lacked flavor. I noticed my plate was dirty. We had asked for a plate for my husband. He never got it. Finally he took my plate, went to another room and got us both plates. Ridiculous. If you are going to charge $25-$57 for lunch entrees you need to have exceptional service. Not expect people to take care of themselves. This place serves food family style so each person has to buy an entree. My 11 year old nephew was required to order an adult menu item. He wanted chicken strips from the child's menu. No they said its against the rules. He must order the chicken for $25.00! My sister complained and asked to talk to the manager. After a long wait another waitress came in and told us he would have to order an adult meal. Again my sister asked to talk to a manager. We waited and waited. No one came. They put you in a small private room then tell you you have to order an entree as they "give you"spaghetti, ravioli, meat balls, salad and cheese served family style. Entree's are around $15 and up. I would say an average entree was $20. Well the salad was so covered in oil that the lettuce was wilted. The raviolis were closer to dumplings and tasted horrible. The meat balls were eatable but nothing special. My entree was about the same quality as frozen dinner linguini. My son ordered a steak and it was cold, not warm but actually cold. My husband had pork chops and they were good. My DIL had linguini and said the same as me that it tasted like frozen meal linguini. Our 3 year old grandson had chicken tenders as yes even the kids HAVE to order an entree. He did not comment on the quality as he did not eat them. So $140 dollars total for a meal that was for the most part horrible. Save your money buy a couple frozen meals and a good bottle of wine and you will be ahead! BTW the waitress was not very nice to boot and was rude about the "everyone has to buy and entree" scam. read more

This place is disgusting. We had heard so many good things about it so we decided to try for our-self. My husband is Italian and loves the food and he didn't even like the food at petes. The raviolis had to have been frozen not hand made they had no taste at all. The sauce was very bland and the meatballs also had no flavor. The garlic toast was good. Spaghetti sauce didn't really taste like sauce on the bland side. The salad was so drenched in vinegar it was hard to eat. They put you in very small private rooms and it is so uncomfortable and awkward it was so quiet and no one wanted to talk because it was just so awkward. The tables were so small it was hard to fit the food on for just 2 people. The food is way to over priced for the food quality. My husband and I both ordered the Italian dinner and we had to share a plate? But the food was all you can eat. Don't waste your money. I don't know what's happened to this restaurant but it's definitely gone downhill. The only reason we go is for the lamb fry dinner. Growing up eating authentic Italian food, I can say this is definitely NOT it. However we overlooked the runny spaghetti sauce and boiled meatballs because we loved the lamb fries. We ate there about 3 months ago and the lamb fries were sliced so thin that they were basically only fried breading. I believe a sheet of paper would have been thicker than the actual meat. But, we decided last weekend to give them another chance, only to be sorely disappointed. It's actually gotten worse. Not only were the lamb fries still being sliced paper thin, we only received about half the amount of "garlic bread" we normally do (it actually tastes more like bread with melted butter poured on it and has no garlic flavor), the meatballs (which are nasty anyway) are now about half the size they were, the raviolis are smaller and the spaghetti???? OMG how can they call that spaghetti sauce? It has always been a little on the runny side but this time our spaghetti and meatballs were swimming in tomato soup!!! It was WAY past being just runny. It actually had the consistency of tomato soup!! At $25.50/lamb fry meal plus drink and tip....let's just say we won't be going back. read more
