Very busy as an ice cream shop but they do have a menu. We order food and a cone. I remember the butter peach being something special and today was just average. My wife had cookies dough and again was Ok. I ordered a small club sub and when it was presented it was underwhelming but it was FANTASTIC. Yea added some balsamic dressing to it but the sub roll was fresh with a nice crust and fluffy and soft inside. My wife had tue chicken salad salad and liked he's too.

We stopped into The Chocolate Factory for a late night treat. My friends all tried ice cream and I tried sorbet. As a group, we loved everything. The ice cream was rich and creamy and my sorbet had a bright fruity flavor. The interior had a vintage soda shop vibe. This storefront stop had a casual look with a lot of vintage varnished wood behind the ice cream counter. There were booths for seating that went all the way to the back. The ice cream cases ran along the other wall. Classic rock music was playing which was fun. I wish there were just a bit more decor to add to the nostalgia. I appreciated that they offered so many choices and everything we ordered, we loved. You can also get sub sandwiches, soups and salads too. I am so happy they are open late because so many places in Cedarburg close up pretty early. The price reflects the weight of your frozen treat. You pay per ounce. I think that's great if you don't want a lot. Just let them know you'd like only a half scoop etc.

This is one of my favorite stops when I come to Cedarburg. They always have such friendly service, location is clean and plenty of seating. Really interesting pricing - they charge you by the ounce so you can request as much or as little you want. They offer all traditional flavors. I especially love all the chocolate selections they offer and sometimes they have some really interesting non traditional flavors as well. They also have different types of cones. In a world where custard dominates, I sure love finding a classic ice cream parlor!!

I especially like Hefner's custard and shakes. (4 1/2 stars) For me, it's always the flavor of the day or vanilla. I love the vibe of this place, and while there, it's fun to drop some quarters in the pinball machines and play a few games. Takes me back to a simpler time, before video games. I also love that Hefner's employs mostly teenagers. It seems like a great place to work and develop teenage friendships. Probably the first job for many of these kids. Hefner's recently installed a Toast Point of Sale system. The teenagers will love this new POS as it will help generate more tips. Hefner's is a great local place to hang out; get some pretty good food that is reasonably priced. It's fun. Let's continue to give them our support as a local landmark.

Their menu consists largely of Mac & Cheese, wraps, paninis and frozen custard. Being a Wisconsinite it really resonates with me. I get the classic "original" mac and cheese every time. It's always consistently good and it's still warm after my 20 minute drive home. They use a less common noodle that is quite large and the portion is generous too. The other menu item I'm always to is the shake of the week. They always have a different one and they're always good. Oh, and I have to mention their salads. Not for me, but my mother likes them as much a salad she gets anywhere else. Another thing I appreciate is the fact they have an app. An app for a local place isn't common in my experience. This makes it easy to order in advance so you can skip the line, skip the phone call and better still earn rewards. Finally, I have to commend a few of the guys who work here. Two gentlemen in particular who both are always pleasant and personable, which alone is commendable, but they've also both been there a few years. They both seem to be managers, but I'm not sure, though I wanted to recognize them. Both are older than the general staff and both are there various weekdays.

WI Campfire S'mores: Cedar Crest Ice Cream is a premium ice cream company that has been located in…read moreCedarburg, WI since 1976. They offer around 80 flavors of their delicious ice cream and their claim to fame is that they invented the now widespread "tracks" in ice cream. WI Campfire S'mores is an ambitious ice cream flavor comprised of graham flavored ice cream with crushed peanut butter cups and a marshmallow swirl. The marshmallow swirl is a little tough to see visually because its white color blends in with the light brown/tan color of the ice cream base. Trust me, it's there though. Separating a spoonful of the swirl out, it does have a texture that differs from the ice cream as it is more aligned to marshmallow fluff. Although the graham and marshmallow flavors tend to get somewhat lost in each other, the peanut butter really comes through when you get a piece of it. The problem is the peanut butter cups are few and far between. Imagine eating an actual s'more that's only graham crackers and a marshmallow. The chocolate (or in this case peanut butter cups) is needed to complete the experience. Cedar Crest is not the only company to do this, but the picture on the package egregiously exaggerates the amount of peanut butter cups. As good as this ice cream is, I think Ben & Jerry's (B&J's) does it better with their PB S'more pint. I'll leave it up to you, but for me this is a Doughboy approved if I have it pre-2024 when B&J's introduced the PB S'more flavor, but after already being exposed, it's just okay *Addendum: The bottom quarter of the container had significantly more peanut butter cups, so more of an equal distribution issue than quantity problem My favorite Cedar Crest Flavors: 1.
