I got my usual Zoreo which from the description is Fudge-like Zanzibar® Chocolate ice cream swirled with gooey marshmallow, Oreos and bittersweet chocolate chunks. And It's really good! My wife got the mint chocolate chip with cookie dough. My kids got the Super Man ice cream which is Cherry, Blue Moon and Vanilla ice creams. It's very blue, red and yellow! And they got the Cotten Candy as well! All good ice cream! So many flavors! The staff is great and they keep the line going when it's busy. I was born and raised in Cedarburg - the Chocolate Factory was a staple for me. So coming back at 50 years old and taking my Dad for lunch was just very special. the food was just as amazing as I remember as a high schooler - and the staff were kind which I so appreciate. It's been years since I've gone to a chocolate factory for subs and ice cream, used to go often when they had locations on the east side but always remembered liking it so took the fam out to try it again and it's the same as I remembered. Had the Club sub and the bread was perfectly warmed, it had the right ratio of meat to toppings and came with cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion and mayo; an excellent sandwich that hit the spot. Very busy as an ice cream shop but they do have a menu. We order food and a cone. I remember the butter peach being something special and today was just average. My wife had cookies dough and again was Ok. I ordered a small club sub and when it was presented it was underwhelming but it was FANTASTIC. We stopped into The Chocolate Factory for a late night treat. My friends all tried ice cream and I tried sorbet. As a group, we loved everything. The ice cream was rich and creamy and my sorbet had a bright fruity flavor. The interior had a vintage soda shop vibe. This storefront stop had a casual look with a lot of vintage varnished wood behind the ice cream counter. There were booths for seating that went all the way to the back. The ice cream cases ran along the other wall. Classic rock music was playing which was fun. I wish there were just a bit more decor to add to the nostalgia. I appreciated that they offered so many choices and everything we ordered, we loved. You can also get sub sandwiches, soups and salads too. I am so happy they are open late because so many places in Cedarburg close up pretty early. The price reflects the weight of your frozen treat. You pay per ounce. I think that's great if you don't want a lot. Just let them know you'd like only a half scoop etc. read more

I stopped at the chocolate factory to get a sub, I got turkey breast (boring I know) but my mom got the Sicilian and we both enjoyed. We ate inside and it gives a laid back diner feel. They also have soups and ice cream. I decided against the ice cream today but I was offered to sample a couple of flavors which I did and appreciated. This is one of my favorite stops when I come to Cedarburg. They always have such friendly service, location is clean and plenty of seating. Really interesting pricing - they charge you by the ounce so you can request as much or as little you want. They offer all traditional flavors. I especially love all the chocolate selections they offer and sometimes they have some really interesting non traditional flavors as well. They also have different types of cones. We were in the area disc golfing and we were both craving a sub. I had heard that this place made a good sammich so I thought we would give it a try. The place was really cool inside, kind of an old ice cream parlor type vibe. The kids that helped us was very friendly. They had a nice selection of subs, and we both settled on the Phoenix. It was a turkey sub with bacon a chipotle mayo. We both really really enjoyed our subs. It wasn't the best sub I ever had but it was pretty tasty. If ever in the area I would go back, next time I would try some ice cream too. If you are looking for a place with that kind of old time feel I would give it a shot. read more

Used to go here as a small kid and it's just as exciting to go back and visit as an adult. Very little had changed in this location since I lived there in the late 90's/early 00's so it is nostalgic to visit! I don't think I've ever really had a sub or anything from here so I can only really judge based on the ice cream. Of course, Wisconsin ice cream is nearly always delicious, but there is something special about the Chocolate Factory! I love the classic old school ice cream parlor feel, makes everything even better. I knew I had to get blue moon because that is a rare find in Arizona! And it's not quite as good in AZ as it is at ice cream shops in Wisconsin. So I got a waffle cone with one scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream and one scoop of blue moon ice cream. They tasted very very good together. I ate the whole thing! Good quality ice cream. My friend was very excited that they had cookie dough ice cream with peanut butter, and had it in a milkshake. Stopped here for a malt on my way out of town and the shop had several teenage staff who were engrossed in their conversation and it took a minute before they even bothered to acknowledge my presence. They may have been talking about work for all I know but it wasn't welcoming at first. I placed my order and the poor kid explained he is new and had no idea how to make a chocolate malt. It took awhile before someone came over to help him. Although it was Chocolate Shoppe tasty, it was quite runny for a shake. While I waited nearly ten minutes for them to figure this out, the place filled up with customers. I got to witness the incredible chaos when you have a shop that has nobody leading the crew. No sense of urgency, a brand new team member who is lost and not trained, team members standing around and they all looked like they had no idea what to do. My first job as a teen was at an ice cream and sandwich shop so I'm no stranger. Get a supervisor in here pronto to run the shift and train your staff. read more

Always a good stop when in Cedarburg. The entire left side of the cabinet is mostly more unique and exploratory flavors while the right side goes more towards your core favorites. Either way, it's a good, thick, creamy ice cream. read more

Very expensive for just a small sandwich and the avocado on it was well past ripe. We also got a cup of soup (also expensive) which tasted like it came from a can, but later we learned it was from a plastic bag instead as it was siphoned from said bag right in front of us. The chocolate factory is located in Cedarburgs heavily trafficked downtown- there is only street parking for this location. The ice cream counter has a huge selection but no prices listed because they weigh your cone. Weird. This is rather strange to me to have an ice cream cone weighed like your in a cafeteria. Fix this chocolate factory. I did really like my bourbon pecan pie ice cream in a chocolate dipped cone. They only have milk chocolate dipped waffle cones, no dark chocolate. The counter gal looked at me like I came from another planet when I asked. First off I have to confess: I've never tried the Phoenix... I know, I know, horrible! Detestable! Waste of a perfectly good name/opportunity! But I just really dig their ice cream! They've always got the classics there, although I could not name them off the top of my head without looking because I'm lazy and have a bad memory when it comes to listing off flavors! But the prices are decent, especially when you consider you're having actual ice cream in what amounts to an ice cream parlor! The people who work there vary from friendly and bubbly to quiet and curt. It's a hit or miss for staff honestly. But I know that when I tried a sandwich there a couple months ago I thoroughly enjoyed it: good meats, great bread, tasty greens and toppings. Mm.
