Regular customer because of proximity to my house. Food is greasy but tasty. Some items seem overpriced. The staff is very friendly. Beers are good, in my opinion not the best ever, but good nonetheless. Gyros are really good. Burgers are decent, better than McDonald's, but nothing to write home about. Pete's is a west-suburbs staple. A typical Chi-town fast-food joint. Their italian beef, while not top-notch, is a solid 8 out of 10. Large, tender, thin beef, great bang-for-your-buck. Their polish sausage is delicious, grilled to perfection. The Super Taco and Dagwood are also highly recommended. Fries are thick, almost steak fries. Awesome fast food! read more

Best place to get a "Chicago Style Hot Dog" in Oak Park. Very cheep prices for their meal deals. I got the hot dog meal, which came with a decent sized pop and lots of fries packaged with the dog. We also got an order of mozzarella sticks which were cooked to perfection. (What I mean by perfection is that they were not the typical soggy slightly bread cheese sticks that most people are used to). Just revisited the Italian Beef Sandwich: hot and sweet peppers dipped. Not as good as Johnie's Beef for the record. Too salty! The meat was good, a bit too much over seasoned is all. I've been going here since 1994 and the food is still great. The staff is friendly and the place is always clean. The Italian Beef is unlike any other. They pile it on high and it's very tasty. The fries are thick and consistently delicious. The pizza puffs are to die for. You have to check it out. They're the best in the area. I've never been disappointed. We love this place - it might look scary from first glance, but they are TASTY and fast and nice. We go once a week quite often. Greek chicken dinner heaven. Greek Salad with Gyros added my favorite. This has got to be the best beef I have eaten in ages! Homemade beef and peppers are to die for. My parents grew up in Chicago with some of the best original beef stands like Carms and Boston beef and they both love Pete's. As good as the old days. I used to be a big fan of Pete's but I have to say the last 10 times I've been there they've messed my order up each time. Great place to go to if you don't mind getting the works - but if you want something omitted it doesn't matter how loud or how many times you tell them no onions or extra sauce - they'll manage to mess it up. This place used to be decent but lately you get jacked up service and jacked up food. I just ordered the rib tips with extra sauce and after initially eating the tips from the top of the order there was no sauce to be seen and mind you I reiterated it to the tall guy that's got a tooth missing, " is there extra sauce?" And of course he lied and said, "yes." The funny looking older woman at the register rushed me through my order, which really pissed me off but it's about to storm and I just want to get home and enjoy what I think is going to be a decent meal. I'm like wow really has it come to this? Are you that big Pete that you no longer even care about customer service or preparing food the way people ask not to mention you PAY for your extras! Or maybe you're not that big because that guy has had the same missing tooth for the longest! So I went back, in the pouring rain to get what i paid for only to get this really funny look from the extreme brow-arched old woman who threw me a cup of sauce and had the gall to say, "No charge." Uh no, I want another cup. So she asks Snaggle puss is it ok to give me another cup. I shudder to think what i would have said or done had i been denied. So then some jerk from the back yells, "give her 3!" But it wasn't in a nice tone. Screw him! Well how about this... you just lost a customer or two or ten because I am going to spread the news that Pete's doesn't give a s*** about how they treat their customers!
