    Tofu was very good!

Genuinely surprised I haven't been here before! What a gem of a restaurant and the waiter was so kind and offered exceptional recommendations and was very welcoming. The food was quick, fresh and oh so tasty! Their entire menu is vegetarian with built-in options for other add-ons. Nice cozy spot for a date night and man did it get busy around dinner time. Definitely try their Special Spicy Tofu Curry, it was very yummy and their Vegetable Spring Rolls were nice and crispy as well. I will definitely be coming back!!!

Stopped by Rama Thai for dinner with my friend. We both have never been here so it was both of our first times. We were greeted by a super sweet server so that started the dinner off right. We shared the spring rolls. I got the ginger lovers' vegetable stir fry, and my friend got the shrimp thai fried rice. The spring rolls came out cold, but the rest of the food was hot and flavorful. Overall, we had a pretty good experience here!

This little spot was big on smiles, service, and TASTE! I was pleased with everything. From The spring rolls to the Tom Kha soup to the BEST drunken noodles!! Even the jasmine tea was superb! All 5 stars!

Ah but not five stars. I will admit to having debated the stars because I would love to see this plaza-b ased restaurant packed with people My biggest criticism in my prior review was targeted at service well I can celebrate that on our last two visits the service has been superb! Top notch! Friendly! Inquisitive about our meal and day in a not overly intrusive manner. We have heard rumors that there have been changes in the kitchen over the last year or so. If there have been changes they have all been for the better! Sauces are flavorful, vegetables are appropriately crisp and fresh, and everything tastes oh so good. Portions are large and if you like soup ... get the soup pot and you will be filled right up. Ah but not five stars. I will admit to having debated the stars because I would love to see this plaza-based restaurant packed with people but I can't credit them with five and it begins with credit. EVERYONE under the age of 50 almost exclusively uses CREDIT CARDS to make their purchases ... I learned my lesson going out to eat with my daughter and her hubby out to eat at a cash only restaurant they recommended. When the bill arrived they both said they had no cash so "dad, can you cover it?" Well, RAMA BAMA DING DONG THAI Restaurant's management issues an up-charge to anyone using credit!!!! It is like a major slap in the face of customers and I am not surprised that there were no individuals under 50 enjoying the delicious food at Rama Thai because the sign on the door basically is saying 'GO NEXT DOOR to the Philippine eatery they take credit!' Now, I do understand that credit card companies and banks charge unfair Usery fees but friends that's the cost of doing business in the 21st century. HIDE THE COSTS ... charge everyone an extra 20 cents on their meal and you'll have it taken care of but don't slap the faces and chase away credit card using folks. I knew I had enough cash with me to cover three meals otherwise I'd have suggested we go elsewhere on our latest visit and yes I can afford the extra charge but it is the principle of it! And, the other item that brought the rating all the way down to a 4 was again service. This time it was a matter of serving the main course meals while we were still enjoying the soup, which created some chaos on the table in fitting everything in. ALWAYS WAIT until people are ready for the main course or a change in course ... Will we back? Of course because the food is that good and the service other than the oops moment noted has improved! We will bring cash or perhaps something to trade in exchange for our food but not using our credit cards!

There's not many places i've heard people rave about they way they do with rama thai, authentic thai food beautifully presented, the server was very helpful which is a good sign of proper training. the sweet sauce for the fish cakes was out of this world and added a nice dimension, the potstickers were very tasty and these set a really nice tone for the rest of the meal! as soon as i saw the crispy duck on the menu i knew i had to order it and it did not the disappoint, the crispy skin mixed the the tenderness of the duck and creaminess of the curry made this such an amazing meal, the chicken pad thai was great and had a great balance of between the starches, protein and veggies. one of my favorite parts of this menu was that you could order just about everything on the menu at different spice levels. onto the final course the chocolate dessert was a really nice treat, super rich and not too sweet but onto the show stopper. the mango with sticky rice that was cooked in sweet coconut milk was nothing like i've tasted before, literally one of the best desserts i've ever had. stop by and see what all the hubbub is about!

Replacing cashews with peanuts on pineapple fried rice receipt
    Jane H.

I've been dining at this establishment for many years when it was ran by the original owners and during Covid times we would get take out few times a month. Our last 3 dine in experience has gone down hill. There was no music playing in the background all you hear is people scraping their plates with their utensils and noise of eating. The vegetables in our entree were all really hard. So the only edible thing was the chicken, the sauce and white rice. But even the chicken was dry and hard. We always order their pineapple fried rice and it comes with cashews. Last time we asked the young Caucasian staff that took our order if we can replace it with peanuts instead?. She said sure we can do that next time. So tonight we did just that! When we received our bill and was charged $1.99 for the switch. I asked her about it that we didn't add to the dish just switched (replaced) to peanuts and she said there's an up charge. It would be nice to let your customers know. Not that $1.99 was going to break me in anyway but it was also how she responded. She stated to us that she's the assistant manager but she doesn't like to other customer know? Why would you even tell us that? And that there's nothing she can do about it. That she thought we knew of the up charge. How would we know? Then she agrees with us of the charge. And just responds with THERE'S NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT I just work here. Cashews cost more than peanuts and there's barely even 10 peanuts!! It's just plain ridiculous.

She brought us waters and answered our questions and request for suggestions. The massaman curry was delicious and the presentation was wonderful. The meal had a great flavor and the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. For 3 adults to have dinner for less than $60 is hard to do at fast food, let alone at a sit-down restaurant. So, I would definitely say this is a great value.

I usually go with a group so that we can partake in the BYOB aspect while we await our meal, as it takes time for Chef PS to work his magic in the kitchen. Each of the curry dishes have all the right flavors, and they pair perfectly with a tasty protein of your liking. Red Curry Duck and Masamun Beef are my personal faves, but I'm pretty open minded so I often try whatever is on special - it has never been a miss! Since the Pad Thai at Orchids can't be beat, I typically order a plate or 2 of it for the table to share. A great accompaniment is the Thai tea (no other Thai tea compares). Also, try to save room for one of the yummy desserts! In the end, I always ensure to make time for a stop at Orchids whenever I'm in the area to enjoy a lovely Thai meal. Kudos to Chef PS!

It's sad that the two times we have eaten here (so far), we were the only customers. The server (the owner, I presume) is very nice and offered us complimentary tea on both occasions. I was very excited to try this place because they have the traditional banh mi's which my usual spot no longer has. We started off with shrimp summer rolls which were tasty. Although the sauce that accompanied it tasted almost like chocolate. Luckily i always make my own sauce of sambal and hoisin. We ordered the fried egg rolls. Let me be very honest and clear with you when it comes to Vietnamese spring rolls. They are my favorite compared to any spring rolls out there. But these spring rolls were quite lackluster. The filling definitely needed more meat and more seasoning. Even the fish sauce needed to be sweeter. And I like to eat salty so that says a lot. Now onto the banh mi sandwich I ordered the traditional one with extra pate and extra mayonnaise. However, there was truly no meat in it. I love my cold cuts, sliced thin, but that doesn't mean that I only want one slice of meat. The amount of meat that was in the sandwich is unacceptable. Although the actual bread itself had a great crunch and taste to it, but all I could taste was the bread and vegetables. Onto the pho whenever I go to a new spot, I always taste the broth first and honestly, this broth had too much Star anise for my liking. The broth wasn't great. Luckily i usually just season it and it would be fine but i made the mistake of not tasting their homemade chili oil first because it was five spice forward. I was not a fan and it definitely ruined my bowl. As for the pork chops the marinade on it was on the sweeter side but it was fine. Overall this place was just not for us.
