We had a bad start to our morning with a tire being flat on our big forklift. Called Brandon and he was here immediately. It was a problem on the wheel hub that tore the tube on the tire. Brandon helped me find studs and lug nuts to replace all the bad ones on the hub. Brandon took care of the tire and it all came together and we had our forklift up and going in a few hours. Husband received great service today, he went in after he found a nail in one of the tires. They helped him right away, repaired the tire, sadly the tire failed after that, so he had to order a new one. It wasn't their fault, but they apologized anyway. A guy came in after a few other customers had arrived, in a Porsche, expecting to jump everyone else in line. He made a loud and rude phone call while waiting. Then got upset when it was his turn, that we don't emissions test in this county. Stormed off, took a photo of the front of the building ...probably ready to leave a bad review. Petes the real deal and as honest as they come. He replaced a thermostat, coolant temp sensor, coolant and oil change plus replaced the accessory belt. My VW runs great now! That thermostat job is one of the most difficult on TDI engines on a jetta wagon. The dealer was 400 bucks more. This Whitewater shop is terrific and I would rate it @110% A1. read more

These guys are beyond amazing!!!! I had a horse trailer with 2 horses, 4 people and a dog on our way to a show. I picked up a nail on the hwy, just happened to exit to go to KT and passed the shop. It was about 7:15 am on a Saturday. We called them and asked if they could help us out. They said absolutely! We went back down the road to their shop and they had us back on the road in 30 mins. and it was only $42!!!! I am so grateful. All the guys there were so nice and I am so appreciative! read more

Was a regular customer but during COVID weigh statewide mask mandates in place, I called to get a new set of tires on my husbands truck and also needed a set for my crossover. $2k In tires... I reached out to ask if staff wear masks in Customer area because hubby had broken leg and I'd have to wait onsite while they did work. Owners wife said I can drop it off & put keys in Dropbox then call in credit card to pay at pick up. I will NEVER return to give them our hard earned money if they don't care about the health of their customers. Disgusted at complete disregard for safety, likely defiant over political reasons, my suspicion. I prefer to support local businesses and conveyed this along with my concern over safety... lesson learned. read more

Pete's is fantastic. I am not a mechanic. Pete's crew has changed the oil for me, put new tires on my van when needed, and overall answered all my questions. They have also fixed my cars balance when it was shaking when I was driving. Once I had a window problem ( IT wouldn't go back up!) and they fixed that quickly . They were great! They have snacks in the waiting area. A cute cat that loves to visit with guests. The staff explained everything to me and the bill was under what I expected. Pete's is a great place! read more

I have a college age daughter who is going to the university in Whitewater. I thought that she needed a couple new tires, and so I sent her to Pete's Tire and asked them to take a look at it. Pete personally looked at her car, and determined that she really didn't need tires. He rotated the tires for her completely for free and sent her on her way. I spoke to him on the phone about her tires and situation and he was wonderful to deal with and, amazingly for today, actually said I didn't need to spend any money. Understand, I had told him to do whatever the car needed and he was honest and above board and told me there was nothing we needed to do right now. That is a rare thing these days. There is a previous review here that says the folks at Pete's are "sexist". How ridiculous. If you're a social justice warrior and are ready to be offended by everything you perceive as a "micro aggression" please stop messing up good people's businesses. I have a son that attends UW Whitewater, he had front end issues which led to tire replacement. The business that fixed the front end does not handle tire replacements. The referred him to Pete's Tire Service for the new tires. After a trip back to the Kia Dealership in Janesville, the repair department noticed the tire had a sidewall bulge and was defective. They replaced the tire with a new one. I told him to return to the repair shop and return the defective tire for a refund. He was told by the repair shop to go talk to Pete for his refund. After a lengthy conversation, which questioned my son's integrity and honesty, Pete decided he was not going to reimburse him for the tire. He went back to the repair shop, and the owner took the tire to Pete and reminded him the tire was under warranty and he needed to reimburse my son, only after some uncalled-for comments about how his dad had to get involved. Bottom line- do not send your son or daughter to Pete's tire, unless you want to deal with a disrespectful owner that clearly has no customer service education. I am sure there are a few other Tire repair shops in the area that know how to treat their customers when an issue arises. read more

I came into Pete's shop for a quote on tires. He and one of his team members jumped up to assist me, his team member went outside to measure my tires while He explained my best options. He went into detail about what I was getting, and even showed me himself on the actual tire. He really helped relieve decision fatigue. The next day, I definitely jinxed myself because I had a flat tire. I had such a great experience with the tire experts at Pete's tire the day before, so I filled my tire and I drove the 36 miles to get there. I did not have an appointment but he got me in! They found the tiniest nail in my tire, and patched it with a lifetime warranty. He and his team were also to get me a quick oil change! I definitely recommend!! read more

Today, I drove over area that an accident happened, I guess, as one of my tires started losing air rapidly. I was able to get to a gas station and put the spare on. I asked my co-workers for a good auto place in Elkhorn (not from around there) and was directed to Pete's. I called, they said they could look at my tire immediately. I took it in and within 1/2 hour, my tire was patched and back on my car. Not only that, but they put my spare back in place, along with the jack, etc. And it was only ~$30! I couldn't have asked for a better experience and would most definitely go back there, and recommend them to anyone and everyone! Thank you so much! read more

The guys seem clueless or don't know how to install aftermarket tire pressure sensors. Either that or they just don't like working in a hot warehouse structure on a hot summer day. I went there like 6 times for them to finally get it right. What's so hard about installing a sensor when you already have the equipment? It should come as common knowledge that whenever you install an aftermarket sensor it should be programmed as well, but for these guys you'd have to remind them to do that. Once you remind them how to do their job, as expected of them, they give you attitude. The owners son is polite and he's the one that finally fixed the issue, so I give him props for that. The other guys are rude and act like the customer didn't pay for the service requested. They openly complain in front of the customers and even in front of the owner, to my surprise. I will never take my car there again, neither would I recommend the place to anyone whatsoever. You either are gonna get poor service or cat fur all over your clothes. Oh, I forgot to mention, they have a cat that stakes claim to the whole customer lounge. Don't get me wrong, I love cats and all animals for that matter, but cat fur all over the furniture, I had to make a quick run to Wal-Mart to get a lint roller. I would give this place a zero star, but that's not possible, so I settled for one star. read more

I would just like to comment on the above reviews. I am the owners daughter. I have worked with my father for 15 years and I can assure you he is anything but a creeper. That offends me greatly that someone would even say that furthermore he had no idea someone said they were chauvinistic therefore he was not trying to help his image he was simply just trying to get you to smile as does he with all customers. He just try's to spark some conversation while you wait. I think it's a sad society we live in when being nice is mistaken for hitting on someone. I'm pretty sure my mother does not care for that comment either. As far as bullying people into doing things they don't want that has never been the case. We take pride in not doing that actually because dealerships do. Whatever experience you had we would love to speak to you about it so we can try and figure out what happened. Thought this was a nice place at first then the true colors shined through. Had my wife's suv in for tires was told needed a alignment during I told them to do it. After got the print out showing camber and cast was out of spec. They failed to tell me to get back in spec that a after market camber/cast adjuster kit needed to be installed. Instead I was told those settings did not matter. Also took my 4" lifted pick-up in for alignment after installing new tie rods, I was never given papers after alignment. When I drove my truck it had a bad drift to drivers side. I took it back they made a adjustment and it had no change it still had a bad drift to the drivers side. At this time I was told it was drifting due to being out of adjustment for camber/cast. I asked if there was anything I could do to help get it dialed in they told me no that my option was to drop the lift down. Needless to say I knew this was not my only option I took to another shop and for $30 less and in less than a hour I had a alignment done and done right my truck now drives better than it ever has. This shop in my opinion is a shop for purchase of and mounting of tires ONLY. read more
