You have the option to do tastings, flights, but by the glass or bottle and order food from their onsite kitchen. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I was pleasantly surprised to see horses on site wandering around and eating grass. I was able to give them some treats and I believe you could also pay to do horse rides My visit was short but sweet!

The food pick up is at the attached building right by the entrance to the bigger building. There are plenty of parking spaces, so you won't struggle with that. The pizzas and pretzels we ordered were not memorable in any way. Will I come again? I might probably try a new winery. Take this review with some salt, though. I'm not a wine person. I came to hang out and sample the place if you know what I mean.

However, the food really shouldn't be the main attraction at a winery anyway. The sangria was a solid choice. The star here are really the views. It was absolutely gorgeous. The owner is what made this place special, teaching us about the aging process and even let us try some juice from grapes that had just been harvested. We tasted all the wines available. The Reds were my favorite - the 2014 Petit Verdot was really nice! And we got a bonus taste of their Blackberry wine! Yummm! I love being able to experience Virginia wines while living in a different state and I love having my membership benefits when I do visit the area. The staff at Sunset Hills vineyard has always been welcoming, knowledgeable and hospitable. In addition, they are great with managing my shipments and account from afar and they make it easy to customize a shipment if you prefer different wines than they are offering. Their food service is great for pairing, I absolutely love their ciabatta bread and warm cheese spread with honey. My favorite thing to do is stop in, taste what is new and share a bottle and some snacks with friends while enjoying the views. Whether I am enjoying live music inside in the winter months or sitting on the deck or outdoor covered area in the summer months, Sunstet Hills Vinyard is my happy place to unwind.

I opted to sit at the bar and was given the flight options. I ordered a flight and a charcuterie board. The board was listed for 3-4 people but I would suggest 1-2 especially if your hungry. The indoor seating is quaint and in a small building. They also have a huge outdoor space and patio both with seating. We were joined about another guest and had great conversation. I also learned about some of the special events they have. Looking forward to returning when I am back in the area.
