8 Chains North was an unplanned stop but we are so happy we stopped here! First of all, even though it is winery and I should write a review about wine first, but I want to start with the fact that this winery has a secluded area where dogs can be off leash and run around and play!!! What a phenomenal additions to a winery for those who brings their dogs with them. Second of all, yes to their wines and amazing staff who are super friendly and very knowledgeable. We will come back!

My fave winery in the area! Such a cozy area to hang out, both inside on the couches, at the bar, or at the tons of outdoor seating. The dog park is also a really nice touch! Always a fan of anywhere that allows pups to join To top it off, the staff is super nice and the wine is DELICIOUS! I even brought my mom once who's fairly picky and she loved everything Oh, and def check out the view from the top deck. Ps don't like wine? They have local beer as well

It was such a beautiful place. But I definitely had regrets about going here.... My regret was I forgot to bring my dog . It was amazing. The wine AND atmosphere was amazing!!!! I can't recommend enough but please don't make the same mistake I did and bring your furry friends with

I cannot say enough good things about 8 Chains North. The fact it's only a 4.1 as I write this is disappointing. The tasting experience we had was delightful. The staff was impressive in their wine knowledge, personable, and frankly hilarious. The wine was delicious, I especially liked the Tannat and the Lo Co white blend (the one with Chardonnay). The view is of the vineyard, and the patio was lovely along with some snacks we brought with us. Overall it was a fabulous experience, one of my favorites from our 9 winery tour of Loudoun!

Had the best time at this winery. The music was great and entertaining. I didn't taste a wine I didn't like, the outside space is beautiful, the food was more than small bites as well as delicious and their members program gives your free bottles and tasting. I really wish I lived closer so this could be my home winery

This place is money. Not only are the views fantastic, but so are the wines. Talked to owner as I was sampling and so informative on what to try. Came for a glass and left with four bottles. This is wine you want to drink and take home. Well done. I'll be back - often. :)

We have been to eight chains several times. Really love the live music when we come! When the weather is nice, there seating is superb. They have open seating, covered seating, fire pits, something to accommodate every preference. The wines are varied and of good quality. The servers are knowledgeable and fun.

Tempranillo and a sunny day

Located just outside Purcellville, this small winery offers some very drinkable wines with a family and dog friendIy atmosphere. There's ample seating both indoors and out on the covered terrace, where you also have a view of the vineyard. There's even a separate fenced area outdoors where your dogs can make some new pooch pals. Dogs are welcome inside the tasting room as well. There's live entertainment most weekends and a fireplace to curl up next to on chilly days. Basic nibbles including salamis, crackers and cheese are available for purchase. Or, if you're lucky you might happen on a food competition day and get a free cup of chili. They offer a special tasting featuring wines paired with chocolates from The Conche for a very reasonable up charge, which I highly recommend. A very pleasant place to while away a weekend afternoon.

We randomly ended up here on our way from Sunset Hills to 3 Creeks. We saw a sign for 8 Chains North Winery and had never been, and in the spirit of a Friday with no work and no kids decided why not check it out? We're so glad we stopped by, what a hidden gem! We did the tasting (flights are also available) and really enjoyed the Merlot! The cabs were also solid. We enjoyed chatting with the knowledgeable, friendly pourers, and they also gave us bonus pours of both sparklings (which were delightful, I could see myself purchasing someday), Albariño, and Temperanillo. They were also advertising a fun Mother's Day mimosa event which I'd love to check out!

A flight of whites

My friends and I had a lovely time at 8 Chains North! Great ambiance for a cold, winter day. Staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed two flights (whites and reds) that we were able to share among the 4 of us. It was a great way for us to decide on which bottles to buy. Their food menu was a pleasant surprise. Between the pretty charcuterie board and the variety of bruschetta, we were more than covered. We were also able to bring our own desserts so that was nice. We saw many people with dogs too. Can't wait to go back and spend some time in their outdoor space.

Good wine and great views. We did a tasting with Sarah and she made it really fun. Loved having the chocolates to taste as well.

I love being able to experience Virginia wines while living in a different state and I love having my membership benefits when I do visit the area. The staff at Sunset Hills vineyard has always been welcoming, knowledgeable and hospitable. In addition, they are great with managing my shipments and account from afar and they make it easy to customize a shipment if you prefer different wines than they are offering. Their food service is great for pairing, I absolutely love their ciabatta bread and warm cheese spread with honey. My favorite thing to do is stop in, taste what is new and share a bottle and some snacks with friends while enjoying the views. It's also dog friendly which is a plus as I was able to bring my dog to join us outside. We ordered a bottle of their Riesling and some ciabatta bread with cheese that came in a tub. The ciabatta was nice and fresh and the spread wasn't too bad either. It was good to have that as a snack while sipping on our wine. We ended up getting a bottle to go as well since I enjoyed the wine. Lovely place for some good views and wine!

The greeter directed us to the tasting bar where an equally friendly staff member helped us. They told us about the vineyard, wines and food offereings. They also let us taste a couple of wines before ordering. Plenty of seating inside and out. Inside seating is a combination of high tops, low tables, comfy chairs and couches. All the wines were well balanced with a nice level of complexity. We brought 4 bottles home! This is a must visit in the Northern VA/Louden wine area. My rating rationale for beer, wine, or spirits: +1 Service +1 Atmosphere/Vibe +1 Taste/Quality (Flavor, aroma, and overall quality of the beverage) +1 Presentation (Glassware, garnishes, and visual appeal of the drinks) +1 Selection/Variety (Range of beer, wine, or spirit options and uniqueness of offerings)

You have the option to do tastings, flights, but by the glass or bottle and order food from their onsite kitchen. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I was able to give them some treats and I believe you could also pay to do horse rides My visit was short but sweet!

TL;DR: Great view, great service, but the food isn't as spectacular…read more The view here is amazing. Pick a good weather day, and you'll enjoy it. There are the usual wine and beer flights if you're unsure, like me. You go up to the bar inside and open a tab, and start ordering. The food pick up is at the attached building right by the entrance to the bigger building. There are plenty of parking spaces, so you won't struggle with that. The pizzas and pretzels we ordered were not memorable in any way. Will I come again? I might probably try a new winery. Take this review with some salt, though. I'm not a wine person. I came to hang out and sample the place if you know what I mean.

But the indoor and outdoor fireplaces are a very nice touch. I tried a flight of beers. Most were exceptional. We also got a flight of wines, which was very good. My wife really liked the Ruby. The pizzas are absolutely delicious! Good options for both carnivores and herbivores. The outdoor seating appears to be ample. The weather was cold and windy today, so we opted to sit inside. We normally prefer to sit outside. There are solo stoves out for a warm fire. The view is amazing! Very beautiful. Service is good. Not as friendly as I am used to. We walked it. Looked around and the staff kind of ignored us. It was clear we weren't sure of where we were going. They noticed us and did not say hello. But once we ordered, they seemed to loosen up. The music here is also pretty outstanding. Chill, indie vibe.

While there were plenty of groups drinking and dining, we were able to find a place to sit right away. We opted out of doing a tasting and ordered sangria and food to eat.
