Serious Billing Issue - Beware We stayed one night at this hotel, booking through a third-party app. Despite this, the hotel has repeatedly charged us for three nights, adding roughly $500 per day in unauthorized charges, even though we clearly did not stay three nights. The explanations have shifted each time we've called. First, we were told it was a billing error on their end. Then we were told their system was "down" at check-in and the charges would reverse automatically. By the third day of trying to resolve this, the tone changed entirely and we were told we must be mistaken -- that our stay was somehow three nights. On our fourth call, after again trying to resolve the matter calmly and directly, the front desk refused to escalate the issue or connect us with a manager or anyone in billing. After implying we were being dishonest about the length of our stay, the only solution offered was that we return in person to address it. I travel extensively and stay at hotels across all categories. While service levels may vary, basic customer service standards like transparency, accountability, and escalation when needed are typically consistent. That standard was not met here. Petit Ermitage is interestingly confusing, like that high school hottie with the great body and face, but with bad breath, and bass-ackwards taste in shoes. You still show up with her to the school dance, but only you know the truth about the cat food stench from her mouth that stunk up your car cuz she simply wouldn't stop talking.... and each uttered word just made it worse and worse..... But she's hot, and you get the clout and cred. So what do I like about this place? Probably my favorite boutique hotel in La for the right reasons. I love the secluded feel once you drive up. It's not a busy street, so there's that nice private feel of not being caught walking your secret love through the front entrance. The reception desk keeps a jar of cookies you can take. LOVE this touch. The rooftop pool/garden/restaurant ranks among my top 3 places in LA if you're after a fun, hip, tasty evening., It captures the perfect hidden oasis vibe without the annoying elitism that has long plagued WeHo and BH. That means you don't get a crowd of 300 over-the-top lost souls. You get just a few, but you also come across the intellectuals and ACTUAL entrepreneurs that make the evening almost feel NYC. The food is pretty good, but if you're going to try anything, you MUST have either the skirt steak (side dish) or steak entree with peppercorn sauce. I've cooked and dined on peppercorn sauce around the world for 2 decades. This is one of the best I've ever had, and ties for first place with my favorite place across the world in Hong Kong. Yes, sometimes I come here just for the steak. It's that good. And your fries? Dipped in that sauce? It's like a food porn threesome that seems forbidden, but oh so complete. If you're lucky enough to score the table by the fireplace, that's my jam, and I've met some of the most interesting people in the past few years..... and unexpectedly scored a few dates. So what's the problem? The cat breath? Just a couple things: the bathrooms are tiny. Interestingly designed, but tiny. If you have a party going on the roof, and people start drinking, the lines get long, and heaven forbid someone gets sick and upchucks on the floor (happened several times), your leather bottom shoes are EFFED! The hotel rooms themselves do have character, and are quite spacious, but I think need some major overhaul. They feel dated, so I rarely recommend them to friends if they want a luxury room, especially given their prices. Like I said, it's still my "hot girl" so I will continue to come here. read more

We are paying $400 for a night in a hotel where there is a DJ playing above us until 2AM. Hard pass. Will not revisit. Not at all the experience advertised. TLDR; A unique hotel with historic feels and beautiful views- slightly higher priced than what it should be but the views and service and food are blended for a comfortable stay and dining experience. Stayed here for a night out in WeHo as well as dined at the rooftop bar/lounge. The hotel is on the older side but has a nice quaint bohemian feel. An updated gym was a nice touch, but you must make a reservation to use it. The service from the staff was friendly and overall very good. The rooftop views and pool is amazing, a must see. The cocktails and food is slightly over priced for what you get- the food was good but the drinks are slightly above average. Price point wise the hotel is a touch expensive especially with the added fees like parking and resort- those should be looked at and refigured for a more cohesive experience. read more

Exclusive hotel in West Hollywood, I heard you have to be a member to get into the pool and even to get rooms sometimes. We had some friends djing there one night and we got a room and enjoyed the pool, we happened to be there on a Saturday and it was super packed at the pool and they required a reservation for day beds and it was busy. We got the smashburger twice, so good! And the drinks are pretty good and pricey too. But convenient if you're staying at the hotel and the night party in the wiggle room and music was great! They also set up the pool area for night time too. I got the avocado toast for breakfast and some people got bone broth and charcuterie too, enjoyed the meal and the pool area! read more

Stayed here and left disappointed on every front. The property looks the part but the experience doesn't match the price. The bigger issue is what happened after checkout. I was charged $280 for "contaminated linens" with no itemization, no copy of the policy they claim justifies it, and no disposal documentation. I asked for all three in writing. The General Manager sent one corporate-sounding response citing "bloodborne pathogens" and "internal safety standards" -- then stopped responding entirely. Hotels deal with blood on linens every single day. That's what industrial laundry exists for. Charging a guest $280 and refusing to show the written policy, the itemized list, or proof the items were actually destroyed isn't a safety protocol. It's a charge with no paper trail. If you're considering this hotel, understand that any damage or cleaning fee they decide to add after you leave is apparently non-negotiable and non-itemized. STEER CLEAR. Serious safety issues and completely unethical management. On Thanksgiving, I was at this hotel with my daughter when $800 was stolen from her purse. The handling of the situation by staff was so alarming that LAPD had to be called, and a police report was filed. A staff member named Joe, who said openly it was his last day, was overheard stating he would delete or conceal the surveillance footage because he knew the woman who appeared to have taken the money. This was witnessed by multiple people. The on-duty security guard refused to give his name or the name of the security company he worked for, which is highly unusual during an active theft incident. Even more concerning, my daughter, the victim, was removed from the property, while the suspected individual was not addressed at all. Throughout the evening, guests were openly using drugs on the property, and staff were serving alcohol to clearly underage individuals without checking ID. And this is not an isolated situation. Other guests have publicly reported theft, stolen cash and valuables, absent management, and similar safety issues in their online reviews. There is a clear pattern of unresolved problems at this hotel. This property does NOT protect its guests, their safety, or their belongings. Absolutely avoid at all costs. read more

Hostess working the pool rooftop was very rude to me and my partner upon arrival. Continued to be a terrible experience in crossing her path while at the pool. Wait staff an everyone else at the pool was much nicer and were great to interact with. Weird thing is - the waitress charged my card at 2:20 pm on 10/18. Then the tall pale blonde hostess Elyse (name could be wrong, role and description definitely right) who hated me for no reason was the one who brought my check back out to the table after - with no credit card in it. I asked the waitress to bring my credit card back and they couldn't find it. I believe the waitress when she says she charged the card, put it in the leather bill envelope, and handed it to the hostess to bring back to me. Only possibility is the hostess stole my credit card. I welcome PH ownership or security to check the cameras upstairs between 2:20 pm and 2:33 pm on 10/18 and you will see the hostess stealing my credit card. read more

I've never experienced anything more disturbing at an establishment. After I was robbed inside their business, instead of helping me, the staff kicked me out. The worst part? Right in front of me, they told the person who robbed me that they would "delete the footage" for them. I was shocked and completely unprotected in a situation where any responsible business should have offered support, called security, or at least preserved the evidence. Instead, I was treated as an inconvenience while the person who robbed me was spoken to with more sympathy and cooperation than I received. This place made me feel unsafe, dismissed, and disrespected at a moment when I needed help the most. I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before visiting, if something happens to you here, don't expect basic professionalism or safety. read more

Beautiful space, but parking was a nightmare. Uber prices were insane (and I live close in Hancock Park), street parking for blocks was permit-only, and the closest meters on Santa Monica ran until midnight, so I was basically forced to valet When I first pulled in, there was a line of cars and no valet staff in sight, even though I'd just seen about five guys standing around while circling earlier. Later, when I came back for my car, no one was at the stand again. I was charged $30 instead of $18 even though I texted for my car right at the 3-hour mark (the $18 cutoff) and had timestamps to prove drop-off and pick-up times. The manager fixed the overcharge, but the valet was defensive and even threatened to tow my friend and call the cops while she waited, when the lot was completely empty. It felt unnecessarily hostile for such a slow night. On top of that, 3 hours of parking is way too tight for an almost 1-hour performance plus a 1.5-hour movie with Q&A Inside, seating for the screening wasn't great. The large booths only worked if strangers shared them, and some late guests dragged over extra chairs to the row ends, which blocked the view for anyone behind The shows themselves were good, but between the poor seating and one of the worst parking experiences I've had (and I'm an LA native, so I know parking headaches), it left a bad taste read more

They also blasted music from the rooftop that made the entire hotel thump for 5 hours straight. It was extremely disruptive. Maybe I shouldn't have expected much from a hotel where their claim to fame is being where Hunter Biden did coke lines and met his wife. For the price, I'd stay elsewhere. I've stayed here before and enjoyed it, which makes this experience even more disappointing. On this stay, there was intense bass noise from an undisclosed basement club that went on until nearly 4:30-5am, followed by loud hallway disturbances involving individuals who were later confirmed by security to not be hotel guests. Despite multiple calls, the issue was not handled in a timely or effective way, and I did not get meaningful sleep. The following day, I was told a room change would be arranged, but no update was provided well into the afternoon. The front desk acted as if I was grifting for a free upgrade. I've stayed in their other rooms and there's no meaningful difference. The "suite" with the kitchenette and walk in closet I had previously stayed in actually smelled significantly worse than the other rooms, so I'm not really sure what my angle would be here. When I contacted Expedia to explore options, a front desk staff member escalated the situation by repeatedly calling my room and then opening my door without permission to confront me over billing. There was no emergency, no notice, and the interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational. Another staff member was brought to my doorway, which made the situation feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I ultimately left the hotel early because of how the situation was handled. While some nights were refunded, the staff conduct and lack of de-escalation were deeply unprofessional. The hotel may look charming online, but when issues arise, guest comfort and safety are clearly not the priority. I would not stay here again. read more

Came here on Halloween for the (third party) Phasmagorica show. Staff made it very clear they had zero interest in us being there. Went to rooftop bar, no one greeted us. There were two other tables outside, it was dead, so not an understaffing issue. Finally went back to host stand and after waiting for two staff members to finish watching Harry Potter TikToks in front of us, a girl came up and offered menus. Ordered 2 drinks, both were not only weak (we came in sober looking for a good cocktail), but not well built. My partner received a bizarrely constructed drink, and when she asked the bartender about the components, he rudely replied: "Did you read the menu?!" With 20% tip it was $70 for two drinks, so decide on your cocktails accordingly. I don't understand why it's necessary to be so insulting. We aren't rude, we aren't Karens, we just were there for an event, not as hotel guests, but it's clear customer service and quality cocktails are not a priority. I enjoyed a very romantic getaway here with my partner and wish we could have stayed longer. If you hate the cold, sterile feeling of chain hotels and want something more intimate and unique, you will love this spot. The ambiance is somewhere between speakeasy and expensive secondhand store, and it feels like you're visiting the summer house of your eccentric rich auntie. The room was large, laid out in a smart way, and decorated like a vintage boutique. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was large enough for a party. We even had a tiny, private balcony, covered in ivy, and an electric fireplace in front of the bed. The real standout is the rooftop pool, which is open 24 hours a day. It has a bar and lounge, and three separate seating areas with loungers, cabanas, and tables. I could have spent an entire weekend there. One word of warning, though - it seems like they are renovating this place from the top down. Our 4th floor room was significantly nicer than the 2nd floor. read more

Even the front desk woman said it's the worst room when we asked if the DJ was going to plsy again last night. 324 is just below where they play music and when I say it's loud, trust me. The room shakes from the base. And it was like the DJ was playing for a Vegas show. Lol. And for the price, the room should be nicer. Is kinda dumpy. The beds are extra firm. No thanks. My entire body hurts. Yes, the pool and dining area are nice. That's it. They really need to invest in sound proofing the walls. My favorite hotel in Los Angeles. A hidden gem with amazing food, great creative events, beautiful rooms but most impressively the BEST staff imaginable. This week during absolute crisis in LA, one of their team members, Troy, helped me get a friend, her husband and dog booked into the hotel on short notice after they lost literally everything in the Palisades fire. Troy was generous enough to even give me his personal cell to make sure everything went smoothly with their reservation and check in. While I now live in SF, LA is still my home and I historically (selfishly) preferred for Petit to remain a "hidden gem" I have to say I hope they get all the recognition they deserve. read more

Formally, my absolute favorite hotel in all of LA until my recent stay. I haven't stayed here for a few years however, I decided to book my daughter's birthday celebration here to spend a fun evening in LA. Post check-in I noticed the rooms on either side of us were pretty loud but it was early in the evening so I disregarded. Once we came back to the room at 11pm both rooms were still going strong with loud music (to the point the walls were vibrating). I called down to front desk who did send up security which only quieted the guests down for about 30 mins. I was forced to call again at 3:30am, security was sent up, they stopped but were back at it by 5am(ish). Upon checkout, I expressed my frustration with the noise and our stay and was told a manager would reach out to me later that evening. Fast forward 4 days post our stay- still no call from a manager( I called and asked to speak with one 2 days post and emailed my concerns to the email given to me by front desk). Once the manager emailed me back (vs. calling me as I had requested), she expressed her apologies credited my parking fee for the night but that was it! Basically blew me off with zero concern of our poor experience. In addition, the hotel tried to charge me $15 each for 3 "damaged towels" I was so shocked as we did not damage anything and in all the years I have traveled for both work and personal matters -NEVER HAVE I BEEN CHARGED for WASHING MAKE-UP off my face with the HOTEL WASHCLOTHS!! This is incredibly tacky for the hotel to implement as a policy - black towels would be a better alternative vs. charging your guest damage fees! -Could you imagine if you went to dinner and you were charged for lipstick fees on a linen napkin! That is basically the same thing! It is obvious this hotel is suffering financially at this time and I hope they recover soon and turn things around. It was very evident the hotel was understaffed and has very poor Customer Service at this time. I will no longer recommend this hotel to friends and/or customers as I have done several times in the past. I plan to book all future stays at your neighboring hotel, The London. read more

Cute boutique hotel in West Hollywood. The rooftop patio had an AMAZING view. You can watch the sun setting over the city while having your drinks and food on the pool beds, advance reservations required. Sooo many pillows and throws. Staff was very friendly and quick with service. Always offered a refill on your drinks while topping up your water. Beyond the gypsy burger (beyond meat veggie) and truffle fries was pretty standard. I had two situations with front staff members at the hotel. When I checked in to meet my friends up at the hotel pool Seema was not a very welcoming host and made me feel uncomfortable. Within one minute of meeting her I felt that I didn't belong at the hotel. She let me know that only guests are allowed here and I said oh well my friend is a guest here at the hotel up at the pool. We had an interesting back-and-forth and which made me feel even more like I did not belong to be here which was very disheartening . Then when leaving, I also had an interesting back-and-forth with the exiting hostess about parking. All I have to say is- when I was a hostess, it was very important to treat everybody the same and I just feel like I did not have the treatment. I understand considering what they deal with every day at the front desk, but if you have a nice lady like me in front of you and then I'm met back with rudeness that's covered with a fake customer service tone I'm not going to feel welcome at the establishment- and it that just makes me sad. This place is literally a facade. Front of the building is great, lobby awesome, decor fabulous and then... you get to your room. Old refurbished furniture and old dirty carpet. If you're room is facing the back of the building your looking at a driveway with cigarette butts out your window. You feel bugs immediately. I'm giving a two star because when I complained, the staff allowed me to cancel my reservation with out resistance. I imagine they we're hoping to avoid this review. This bar is beautiful. I came here one sunday for their Jazz experience and it's very casual and low key but a nice group of people to mix and mingle with . The dress code was classy and nice, and the drinks were amazing. The bartender could easily make anything you wanted as he was extremely skilled. Kevin on the rooftop is amazing- great knowledge of food, spirits & coffee and so very helpful & fun! Hotel COVID-safe practices are on point. Perfect place for a staycation. Service is excellent. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfy. They use goose down pillows, and when we asked for more, they asked "How many"? They told us we could have 100 if we wanted! That's the kind of place this is.
