I called the owner a few days ago, and I told him my dilemma because I was fed up after a year of dealing with dried up mealworms. He said he always lays them out in newspaper, which is false because I've encounter his Customer Service and he's OK although he's never laid him out. I also don't think that the count is right we used to get that 200 or 150 and they would be gone rapidly. We feed the gecko and the turtles once a week because they eat other things like fruits and vegetables. All I'm saying is that the math is not math and after he said, why am I repeating myself because I still could not find an answer so I had to keep asking her the different question it was almost like he got irritated and you know what they say when you're guilty you act out. I think I'm just going to go to another mom and pops. I'm over the headache.

Unfortunately the Freeport location didn't have enough bags in stock so I decided to purchase from the Fair Oaks location. To my disappointment, I received a phone call and text from Reagan stating they didn't have enough product in stock. Things happen and while it's frustrating, I just wanted to get things over with and have the proper quantity that day, as our cats are picky and do not like fishy flavored food. She was beyond clueless and I tried multiple times to paint the simple picture of what I was looking to accomplish. Pick up what they were offering (two bags of chicken and pea, two bags of salmon, and exchange the salmon for the chicken and pea at the Freeport location). I was placed on hold and spoke to her manager Jamie who was equally clueless and lazy. She told me the Freeport location would only hold the chicken bags for two hours and I wasn't able to pick up my order from her store within that time frame, let alone go to another location. When I've encountered this issue from the Freeport location, Celeste and her team have always been apologetic, kind, and accommodating. They've offered to transfer bags from other stores whenever possible, or have offered me the same amount of food in smaller bags. I will never step foot into this location again and hope they can get their act together since I like the company but can't stomach this location and their antics. We're all human and we all make mistakes. I'm not upset about the mistake; I'm beyond frustrated at how I was treated and their lack of empathy. Gas is $6+ a gallon and I wasted my time and money due to their inventory error. The Elk Grove location can't open soon enough and I'll continue to patronize the Freeport location in the interim.

I usually go to another pet store down the street, but they have been out of things I need lately - I'm happy to say that I will be going to this Petco going forward! The store was fully stocked to the point where it did feel kind of cramped, BUT it was organized and clean! They had so many animals like Bearded Dragons, Guinea Pigs, Cats and even Pac-Man's and Tarantulas! Plus, they were all in clean cages! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful especially because it was my first time shopping there. Also, I pointed out at the register that the container of bugs only had 3 worms even though it said there were supposed to be 4 so they gave me a discount! Even helped me load it in the car. I was looking for a sturdy cat tree because my cats are hard on them. They seemed to like it and two of them kept taking turns sleeping on the top level. Only downside of the cat tree was that it didn't have sisal rope on it and one of my cats likes it. I just bought a second much smaller scratching post with sisal.

One of the other employees did ask if I needed help and looked up pricing for me. He was very friendly. They have a good selection of toys, treats, specialty items, food, and they specialize in raw foods for dogs. They have a whole refrigerated section and we were impressed by the variety of items across the store. They also have a self use dog wash. The staff was friendly and offered our pup some treats and asked if we needed any help. We ended up leaving with some treats and some "beauty" items for our dogs long coat. This is a nice addition to the area, and while we were there many people were coming by with their dogs.
