Stopped by here to get some food for the doggies, its such a convenient location when I am doing errands. This location has a different layout than other Petco's so we had to ask where the brand we use was. The staff was friendly and the store was clean. This location is a drive for me. But to be fair, this is the closet Petco there is to me. And IF I'm ever near this area, I always stop by this Petco to ge myself some crickets....... And it's crickets to feed my Leopard Gecko. Once in a while I'll explore the store. It seems to have everything for all your pets needs. I see dogs on leashes from customers and the store is clean. The employees there are nice and I get greeted every time I stop in. Even though I say I rarely come here, the place is consistent with its customer service. Everyone is nice and helpful. I came here on 4/2/26 hoping to get my small dog groomed for the first time at this location. I called ahead to make a same day appointment and was able to get one. When booking, Daisy kept reading back misinformation on simple stuff so I guess that was my first red flag. I get to my appointment I was booked under the wrong name and I had an issue with my paperwork and she gave me the NASTIEST attitude I have seen in customer service. Wouldn't offer a solution to the issue I was having with my paperwork when all she had to do was make a simple phone call but instead made the choice to be rude and nasty. Her manager acted a lot better than her. My first time at the store was pleasant but this particular experience was very unpleasant and uncalled for. Like you don't have to work here lol She won't ever touch my dog. I hope her behavior gets corrected sooner rather than later! read more

Employee saw me staring at flea medication for 10 minutes, didn't tell me they don't have any cat flea meds until I tried to check out.

I just moved from OC to Sacramento. Our dogs needed a good bath, and we decided to try this place out. We ended the grooming facility, and there was a bit of a wait, but the staff was friendly and were able to accommodate our 2 small dogs even though we didn't have an appointment. We had our dogs get a full bath, with nail trimming, eat cleaning, and teeth brushed. After a couple of hours, our dogs were ready. There was a bit of confusion on the pick-up time. I thought a call or text would be sent when the dogs were ready, but only a text letting us know that the dogs were going to be ready in 30 minutes was sent. We waited an additional 30 mins and never got a final text to pick up our dogs. Either way, the dogs had a great time, and they were clean and ready for dinner when we picked them up. The staff was super sweet and took their time with our dogs. I highly recommend Rowan and her colleagues. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the other co worker's name that took care of our dog. read more

Though over the 60-year long landscape of my life, I have been lucky enough to have a handful of dogs and dozens (no joke) of cats share my home / living arrangements. At this junture, I am roomates with two (2) Black Cats - my beloved best friend Pocket-Panthers JACK & BOBBY, and these fuzzies keep me busy! WHERE THE RUBBER MEETS THE ROAD So at least on the most basic of levels, I can come to PetCo and find the stuff I need to: 1. Feed my cats! 2. Clean my cats / keep their fur all fuzzy! 3. Keep their Kitty Boxes set up for their bathroom needs! 4. Keep the apt refreshed with sanitizers and air refresheners! 5. Find exciting toys to keep their little lives active inside the apt.! 6. Collars and Leashes to support their outdoor life with me!; 7. Grab great, tasty treats for them to celebrate their good behavior! RECENT TREK This recent trip to the store was fun and they loved joining in, playing in the leaves near the sidewalk. They have their favorite treats, but they got to preview a couple of new ones in the store - thank you, staff! - and we grabbed a couple MORE bags of treats for future enjoyment. The also LEVELED UP and now have a toy that looks like a mouse and has an embedded laster that will no doubt keep them entertained on the kitchen floor. THE LOWDOWN There's obviously so much more with the complexity of two rambunctious felines that I need to try to stay on top of, but when it comes to PetCo, whenever that need arises, I seem to be able to find it! read more

Lilli the groomer acted like she was big mad she had to work today! She was unprofessional and tart from the very beginning, and it got worse from there. It took her two hours to wash and do a choppy looking hair cut for my Maltipoo, I could have done better at home and saved her the attitude! At the end, she accused me of not paying for the service. Won't be returning nor bringing my second dog, like I initially intended. Save your time and money and go to Bark Ave or somewhere else. All the other store employees were wonderful!! read more

I will never come here again. No shopping carts whatsoever. How am I supposed to get all my dogs food???? I walked around the store and found shopping carts full of "go-backs" or items that were going to be stocked on the shelves. So instead of having carts available to your customers, u guys watch us struggle with these tiny ass baskets that don't fit shit, Meanwhile all the employees have a shopping cart to stock the shelves? Yea, no. I did end up taking one cart that was full of crap to go on the shelves and I put everything on the floor and went and grabbed my bags of dog food. I have been coming to Petco more regularly now because I adopted a dog and the times I went to this location I was greeted by outstanding staff members and quality dog products. My first time in a long time at this Petco required I get a harness for my dog. Luckily right in the front of the store off to the right there is a huge selection of harnesses. I was able to bring Ralph (my dog) on a leash inside and try on a harness. We quickly purchased it and it has been lasting us a month now. He uses it daily on his walks. I also had to get Ralph a name tag. You have quite the selection of name tags at the front to the left when you walk in. Once you selected it, you have to pay for it and then get an activation code on the receipt. You take your receipt to the kiosk with the name tag you purchased then you get your personalized engraving on the name tag. It took a few minutes. I loved the convenience of this process! I noticed as I was waiting for my name tag that the groomers were on the left side of the store as well as a wellness check for the animals. I will definitely have to check these things out for Ralph next time I am there! read more

Appreciation for all the hardworking, dedicated, and well-dispositioned employees of this Petco store (except for the store manager, Sid). I have been shopping at Petco stores for over 20 years and have never encountered any rudeness, such as I have today, at this store. The store manager, Sid, had a sour attitude and tried to project his misery onto me, when I asked about cat probiotics. The stare in his eyes and tone of voice was accusatory as if I did something wrong by entering the store. His attitude and level of authority explained the unhappiness of those working under him, and even the animals, the gerbils I saw, were unhappy and looked sick. Bad energy which reeks of resentment, anger, and unforgiveness spreads like any other disease, making everyone feel unwell, with animals being the most susceptible and vulnerable. I hope Sid either gets help, and learns to release negative emotions quickly, or be released until he learns his lesson. Like I said, it's been over 2 decades of being a Petco customer, and I have never encountered such rudeness. A big thank you to all the Petco employees and store managers who do have great attitudes and don't act like this Sid character. Keep up the good work! read more

I just left o get a fish tank, 10 gallon for $11 ish with tax. All three employees who helped me were fantastic! An employee doing curbside even saw me struggling with opening my trunk while holding the glass fish tank so he took my keys and opened it up for me. Idk why they only have three dates but my experience with the employees and their inventory today was great. The employees had bright atrocities, knowledgeable, and were very helpful. I will be back to purchase pet related items. (My only sadness comes from the corporation selling live animals. Yes I know I just bought a fish tank but pet stores do exist where they just sell equipment for pets.) read more

My thick-sickle Bulldog staffy needed a harness. I act like i know stuff. But I dont most of the time. Facts. Nicholaus was at the register and was informing me on harnesses and gave me a look like. " ok, just let me help you please, thanks." My puppy is my service animal, she was with me. They were seeing her and giving me sound advice. Petco did not have exactly what I needed or wanted but I got good knowledge from Nicholaus. And we did internet searches together - it was cute and not rushed- Then they started engaging with my dogter and was perfect. They spoke to her the way I do. She was in love with Nicholaus. And that alone was worth the time spent. I often -99% of the tome have to tell ppl to refrain from touching her- she and I speak in code and she does not like everyone- she gives me a look or a tapping cry that Im sure only I can feel- she says no. And I translate for her- she gets to decide - People tend to believe they are dog people and speak dog. They're in denial. They wish they were ... I may have to return the harness I purchased and thats ok. My dogter will get loved on - Oh and Victoria was also bringing the good energy!! Those two young individuals shared great vibes. Its hard in general and even more so now- If you shop here- put your good attitude on so these young ppl keep their shine. What a sweet sweet experience. I want to give a big shout out to the Petco crew for their excellent customer service and the knowledge they shared with me while I was visiting and looking to upgrade my aquarium. I decided to upgrade my 10 gallon aquarium to a 29 gallon and was able to order everything ahead of time online and received 10% off for taking care of it this way. They had everything I needed in stock, but I decided to go in and get a few more items in-store while I was looking around, so I perused the aquarium decorations and the live aquarium plants. An employee asked me if I needed any help, and after discussing the type of fish I have, he mentioned I probably wouldn't need to add any more plants beyond what I already grabbed, as my fish would likely eat the plants and make a mess. He was right: the fish have already picked through quite a bit of the ones I ended up with! The other stuff I ordered online was already waiting for me. They point me to the area, I loaded it all into my cart, and got it all home. After assembling the tank stand, I found out that the aquarium tank had a small crack on the inside. I called the store, explained the situation, and asked if I should bring it back or if it was fine since the crack did not affect the outer glass. The employee let me know it was covered, they had an extra one, and I could bring it on back and swap it out. I drove back and they had the replacement waiting up at the front for me. It was an easy replacement process! Not their fault it was partially cracked - that could happen anywhere in the process of shipping to the store - but they handled it perfectly. I got home and this tank was crack-free. It's all set up now and looking great! Thanks to the Petco crew for your help! read more

Grooming review. Took my 11lb geriatric dog in for a VIP groom. He has long hair but is groomed regularly, so his hair was only a couple of inches long. Over the 9 years I've had him it's taken 1.5 hours to groom him on average, so when I didn't hear anything after 2 hours I went in to check. The groomer had JUST started clipping him a few minutes before I got there, so it took literally 2 hours for her to bathe and dry him. I sat in the car for another hour before he was ready. Being slow doesn't make you a good or meticulous groomer. For most dogs grooming is incredibly stressful; you want to be as efficient as possible. For a geriatric dog from an abusive situation especially so, and the groomer knew his history beforehand. He was so exhausted when I got him home I had to carry him up the three porch steps. He's ancient. He doesn't do well standing around shaking for 3 hours. And also, he has shit around his bumhole that was smeared slightly down his fur. Nice job for a 3 hour groom, ya think? Full disclosure. They refused payment because I was obviously upset. The groomer literally walked away when I insisted on paying, which was infuriating, so I left the cash on the counter. read more

Store is pretty good to bring your pets, but would not recommend their grooming service at all. Very disappointed with the grooming experience due to the employees. I took both my dogs to the groomers at Petco. I made their appointments and hour apart so that it's easier to handle. My first dog, 2 year old husky mix, was very comfortable going in and handing her off was easy. It took about an hour and I went to grab her when they told us that they weren't able to trim her nails. They said that she tried biting them so they had to stop. My dog has never bitten anyone but I wasn't there so she might have tried. I apologized and brought in my other dog, 1.5 year old german shepherd. We walked into the room where we waited for someone to help us and the receptionist came out suddenly and spoke very loudly, almost screaming and immediately went to pet my dog. This scared me and my dog since he's very anxious when meeting new people. My dog started barking around her and she stepped back. While I was trying to check him in, he kept barking so the receptionist let us know they wouldn't be able to take him since he was upset. I understood that if my dog kept barking they wouldn't be able to take him, however she was the reason he got defensive. Had she come in calmly and slowly let my dog come to her, it would have been a positive experience, like we previously had with our vet. We had to leave but on top of the bad experience, we were charged for a long haired dog for our first dog, and with tip, it was about $100. My first dog is a husky mixed with a char-pei, but she does not have almost any fur. She has the pattern of a husky and fur shorter than a centimeter. I didn't look at the price before I paid because I was in a hurry to get out since my second dog was already worked up. Overall a negative experience at the groomers. read more

As a pet focused chain, Petco is still doing it up right in terms of selection, service and super friendly employees, especially in dark times like the current forced seclusion of the coronavirus. Fortunately, feeding and caring for your pets is still considered a necessity. And while many local shops have unfortunately not been able to keep their doors open, I'm taking solace in knowing that at least this chain can provide me with what my pets need. I came in recently and found, like most shops these days, that the shelves where a little more bare. Nevertheless, they still had everything I needed for my two cats. Pet food in many varieties and litter. I especially like their litter refill station that allows you to bring back your old buckets and refill them yourself for a discount. My props always go to the employees here. Friendly, knowledgeable and they always give you the sense that they actually enjoy their jobs and working in the world of animals. I've purchased everything from cat furniture to fish and fish tanks here in the past and they always know their stuff. Beware though. During normal times, they do feature puppies for adoption. The past few times I have been in this Petco with my dog, I feel the employees have not been very friendly! My dog is all excited to be there, goes under the counter with her tail wagging to say hi, and they don't even pay attention to her! It was as if they were ignoring my child! Broke my heart! How do you work at a pet store and not love pets? I would be petting all the animals, and giving treats! When I went today, the guy behind the counter was also on a phone. Regardless if it was a work phone or not, it should have waited until he was done ringing me up. He then wasted no time to walk away from the register as soon as I paid, but not yet even left the counter. Horrible customer service! I will no longer shop here! I come to this location at least once a week. The staff is always friendly to me and they are always so helpful when it comes to my tons of questions. When I first got my dogs a few months ago, they helped me find a dog food that would work best. They recommended the "Whole Hearted" brand, as I told them my dogs were super picky, and my dogs love it. I stop in at least once a week for new toys or treats for my dogs. I love their 2/$5 toy bin, no matter how many toys my dogs have I can't skip out on that deal!! Recently they haven't been having as great of a selection, my dogs favorite bones haven't been in the store for over a month now :,( hopefully they will make a return soon! Disclaimer: first time using the store here. However, some very concerning issues that we have never encountered over several encounters with groomers at alternative locations. For reference employee name was Aravis. 1) Cut was not to specification much shorter and coat was uneven as if it was rushed. 2) large bump on the head of my pup to the point it was raised and bleeding (which they state she hit her head in the crate which I see could have been possible) 3) manicure was aggressivly short to the point where all paws were bloody with active bleeding that I only noticed when she got home. As I have only been with one other place I may have higher standards when grooming but I don't think this was to any acceptable standard and worry she was in pain. Buyer caution advised. read more

One of the staff told us the wrong info about how to condition our tank, and all the fish we bought died immediately. Petco was apologetic and gave us the right water treatment and replaced the fish. That is what the two stars are for. One day last week I went to return a doggy shirt. I had three items and wasn't sure if they were all from that store but I knew that the one was for sure. I told the employee helping me, middle aged guy, that I didn't have a receipt but he could look up my account with my number. He had an attitude. Then without even scanning the stuff he said it wasn't theirs. I asked him to check because I know for sure I bought at least one there at that location. He slammed it on the counter and said it wasn't their's. Literally SLAMMED the hanger on the counter. I asked him why he was being so rude and he took off his apron and walked away. Literally. Another employee apologized and said "he gets like that sometimes". I went to the dog clothes rack and grabbed another of the shirt in question just to show them that it was indeed from that store. I was refunded for that shirt and realized that others weren't from that store. Trying to figure out if the shirts were from this location shouldn't have been this much of a problem and although I understand times are stressful, that employee had no reason to treat us the way he did. It was absurd. My tailor, a restaurant I love and some other businesses I frequent are in this neighborhood, but I'll literally never go back to this location. read more

This place is great! Super close to my house, so I enjoy coming here if I ever need to run errands or if I want to take my puppy on a walk around here. My puppy loves running around the store, so it's fun coming here so he can pick a toy out. Staff: The employees here are friendly. They ask me if I need help with anything. At the cashier, it's always been a smooth transition. Sometimes they like to spark up a conversation, which is pretty cool. Selection: There is a wide variety of toys, food, and clothing. I can always count on this place if I ever need my dog food. Overall, I will come here again and again. The environment is friendly, the store layout is clean, and the aisles are wide. Parking is easy as well, just got to look both ways when you exit since some drivers like to speed towards SaveMart since this is located next to other retail stores and restaurants. read more
