Their scones are so good, it's hard to eat any others after because they will all taste like garbage in comparison. The triple berry are AMAZING. Buttermilk currant are the daily stand-by. I had a chocolate bourbon pecan pie from here and it was mind blowingly amazing. This place is awesome. This review is about service, not fold quality. We love the scones, muffins and Pies. Stopping at Petsi's has been part of our weekend morning routine for quite a while. That's why it's so disappointing that the experience has become so frustrating. We've now left on several occasions without any product. We want to give them our money but they repeatedly run out of the things we like. It's so puzzling, why don't they make enough? We never arrive later than 10am, how can they possibly make money if they have nothing left to sell? We will be finding another place to make part of our routine, unfortunetoy, we would love to give them our business, but they don't seem to want it. read more

I'm a regular here. Although I wish it was the type of place they get to know you - more of a regular customer than a "regular" in the sense that term is often used. The staff are still all really nice except the dark haired girl with the glasses who needs to work on her people skills/could stand to be friendly and a lot less abrupt. Other word of warning: in the winter it's cold! So not really a great place to spend long periods of time reading, but that's a weather thing! Everything here is amazing and the staff is great. The pies and cookies are reminiscent of childhood and homemade like mom used to make. Absolutely do not miss their peanut butter cookie- my favorite. ( unless of course you are allergic) but all their cookies are amazing. ***Catering specific review. It actually pains me to write this review, but I'm still thinking about my experience 2 months later. Off the street as a slice of pie and coffee customer, this place deserves 10 stars. I love supporting a local business with friendly staff and delicious goods and have for 4 years. So, naturally, I thought to use PP for my main wedding dessert. The manager I originally reached out to unfortunately was not the manager employed when I eventually kicked off the catering order. It was highly difficult to get in touch with the new manager to agree on a tasting date and time. When finally agreed upon, we show up to find she believed it was scheduled for the day before, so she was not there. Ok, fine, so we work with the baker to taste and go through the ordering process. I saw the baker had my email wrong, so I corrected her at the meeting to receive the invoice. I am not joking when I say it took weeks of emailing the manager and calling the business to receive the invoice, that went to said incorrect email address 3 separate times. The manager said she was dealing with personal out of office issues, which is obviously fine, but someone else in the business needs to pick up the slack in the communication department. I had no confirmation of an order / proof of invoice until way too close to the event date (less than 3 weeks). I was so worried that I reached out to my caterer to potentially make extra desserts to which they said it was too late in the process to do so. I set up a delivery order per my venue's request for the day of my wedding at 3:30pm. One week before my wedding at 2:00pm I received multiple voicemails from a delivery service asking where am I / the venue's closed. After frantically calling them back while away from home, the issue amounted to an incorrect order ticket being taken from the shop. Ok, so I called PP to discuss, and the baker almost had zero reaction, making it seem like it's no big deal. Ok, fine(??), I confirm we're on for the following Saturday at 3:30pm. I call again a few days before the wedding to super-extra confirm we were on track and they quoted a 2:00pm drop off. The venue is not open at that time and at no point did I say the words 2:00pm during our previous two delivery discussions. Again, I just don't understand the complete breakdown in communication. Listen, I don't need to be attended to with endless, saccharine apologies, but at no point during this entire time was there any confidence instilled in their process or even simple acknowledgement that there were multiple problems along the way. We were spending hundreds of dollars! The pies ended up being the only thing I was stressed out about on my wedding day, which to me is almost comical. Were they going to make it?? They did indeed arrive, we rejoiced, and the guests thoroughly enjoyed the product, but for friends that have asked whether they recommend PP for their wedding dessert, my reaction has been a resounding 'eeeehhhhhhhhhhh I don't know about that'. They're great for a bite, but unfortunately lack the professionalism to handle catering orders for important events. read more

Super tasty pies! I've only been here once, but I had a savory pie and a hot chocolate, which sounds weird, but it was delicious and filling and worked well as a late afternoon lunch. The owner happened to be there and was incredibly friendly, and of course the service itself was great. LOVE this place... wish they would open a location closer to me! read more

petsi pies restored my evening today. i was working from home and feeling a little bit down. and i got a little hungry. i strolled down beacon street and thought i should drop by petsi pies. the place is tiny but they have some seatings. 2-3 tables or so but it's too cozy (too small). i got a bit claustrophobic. they have a wide variety of pies. and the curly edges of the pies assure you that they are flaky and crispy. i got a small pecan butter pie for $7. the bigger one doubles the radius and costs $14. the biggest one is $22. luckily the formula for calculating the area is pie r squared (get it? get it?). so the bigger ones are better deal. the girl at the cashier asked me if i wanted anything else. the only answer i had for her was yes. so i had a ginger molasses cookie as well. and darn it was good. the texture is the perfect middle ground between soft and hard cookies. and it's not insanely sweet. i saved the pie for dessert after dinner. and it was the best pie i've ever had in my life. the crust is perfectly crispy and flaky and buttery. the pecan filling was not overly sweet. the bottom of the pie wasn't soggy and gross. i'm glad i live close by! highly recommended! read more

I am on a constant search for perfect scones, and Petsi's are among the best I've found in the Boston area. They are moist and fluffy and rich and large -- if you prefer the drier, less sweet, biscuity scone to something more cakelike, you may not like it as much as I do. Cold brew was also smooth and good, and the coffee fixins were plentiful (yay simple syrup). Two thumbs up! read more

Came here on a whim because I really wanted some dessert and this place was the closest option to where I live. I was surprised to see how small it was as it is literally a bakery with no seats but nonetheless the pies here are awesome! Would highly recommend if you're in the area and you want some sweets. read more

It's not light and fluffy like yer normal duncan hines, rather, this is a heavy piece of dense baked goodness that is a meal in itself. I've had: whoopie pie, coconut, and carrot. The carrot is a little smaller than the other 2. I got a blueberry pie not too long ago, and I didn't like it too much. Whole Foods blueberry pie seems to be my standard for comparison, and this didn't make the cut. Hence knocking this bad boy down to 4 stars. read more

I've only had the pecan pie, the cherry pie, and some muffins / cookies, but I have always been VERY happy with what I've gotten.

I know they're obviously known for their pies--and their pies are definitely great--but their cinnamon buns and their brownies(!!!!!) are actually to-die-for. Petsi Pies is a nice neighborhood pastry shop, and a nice place to enjoy a coffee and a sweet thing (of any kind!). read more

There is very little to not like about Petsi Pies!! I have had almost everything that they back and it is delicious!!! We order pies from here regularly and also stop in for coffee and a pastry on occasion. We can usually find a parking spot near by. But they are close to porter and harvard sq and it's in a very walkable neighborhood!! The servers are always friendly and helpful!!! read more

My husband and I had a terrible experience with the service here. We had signed up for "Food for All", an organization that allows you to purchase food that would normally get thrown own. We purchased pie through the app, and went to Petsi around 3pm to pick it up. The women at the counter had not been informed that the owner had signed up for the Food for All program. However, instead of simply saying that she was sorry and couldn't fulfill the order without speaking to the owner, she acted like we were trying to scam the shop. She said that Petsi would "never profit off of unsold food" and preferred to give it to charity, and was clearly implying that my husband and I were doing something wrong. Obviously I have nothing against giving to charity. However, there's a way to deal with a misunderstanding gracefully (especially when it's due to your own miscommunication internally), and we left the shop with a very bad taste in our mouths. It was overall a very unpleasant, unwelcoming, and aggressive interaction. We won't be coming back. read more

Ran into this bakery while walking around the area. As the name suggests they sell pies either by the slice or whole. They also sell cookies, cupcakes, and cake slices. Since the pie slices left for the day did not interest me I opted for a piece of apple walnut cake. The serving was pretty big and the cake was very moist and flavorful. The person who attended to me was super nice. Will come again and maybe try the pies then! read more

It is hard to find a great pie place. Petsi's is on spot with all their foods. From a goat cheese/veggie tart to a burbon chocolate pecan pie they are all fantastic! Oh my dear god. Petsi Pies is the closest to food porn as you can get. As soon as I walked in there, I knew Petsi's was going to be like a second home to me. They have delicious iced coffee, but come on, obviously you don't come here for the coffee. The sweet potato breakfast roll was divine and the only let down was the delicious sounding blackberry/ginger scone that turned out to be surprisingly tasteless and dry. What happened? I'm praying that it was a freak occurrence because their scones look delicious and include great flavor combinations. I will definitely be giving the scones another shot. If I wasn't worried about totally freaking out the employees, I would just sit in front of the glass door and watch them make their beautiful pies/tarts/cupcakes/scones all day. It's really quite mesmerizing. Can't wait to try the Harvard sq. location if I can ever remember to get there on a Saturday. read more

I just wanted to rep the scones here: if I lived a little closer I would have them for breakfast everyday. Excellent in variety and in execution. The deserts I've had have also been excellent and the place really has personality without driving off the non-hipstery. Closes at 6: I recommend picking up dessert (and the next day's breakfast) first, then dining at Pho n' Rice next door or RF O'Sullivan's across Beacon. read more

I am thoroughly enjoying the Michigan Tart Cherry pie that I'm consuming (birthday pie for boyfriend, or birthday pie for me? unclear.). Very nice people and service. However, -1 star for the fact that their website lists a whole slew of pies that they make, but says nothing about having to order 48 hours in advance to get any of them. So sad that I no longer live across the street from this place. Pronounced "Pete-sies" this bakery houses the most fantastic brown butter pecan pie. The pie is so addictive that you will find yourself eating a large pie yourself in less than an hour. Their hot chocolate is also very tasty and is laced with cinnamon and a hint of spice for extra deliciousness. Petsi's also have a variety of other freshly baked goods, both savory and sweet, which are delectable. They also provide the desserts for tupelo, since petsi owns both establishments. I've been through the South and I've had some fine desserts in cities like Charleston, SC. So, my bar was set pretty high when I walked in the door. Petsi pies has got to be one of the best bakeries in the entire Boston area. They make a mean pecan pie (both chocolate and brown butter) and the sweet potato pie is delcious, too! The fruit crumble-topped pies (I've had apple and berry) are also fantastic, and they know how to actually make a good crust. Do yourself a favor and buy a Petsi pie or 3. You will not be disappointed. And while you're at it, get a chocolate peanut butter cupcake for the road. Soooooo good. read more

I recommend any of the sweet stuff, but skip the savory. Roasted veggies/goat cheese/ricotta pie: bland and bad. Gruyere and bacon pie: also just plain bad. Key lime pie: Awesome graham cracker crust, VERY tart filling (I'm not a tart fan though) Mixed berry pie: Amazing crust, delicious sweet crumble on top, perfect crust to filling ratio, but again, slightly more tart than I would like Will have to come back to try more delicious sweets! read more

I was born with a sweet tooth. This place is heaven. It blows all the barkeries I've ever been to in Cambridge away. Just had there mixed berry pie and a cinnamon roll. Both were out if this world delicious. The people behind the register were very kind and helpful in choosing a pie to take to my boyfriends parents. Only 'complaint' is there is barely any seating, and when it gets cold I'll want to sit inside rather than on the benches outside. read more
