    Small pecan
    Margot D.

A friend brought me a little pecan pie recently (it had been years since I had a Petsi pie!), it was my first time trying the pecan and it was delicious. The small was a perfect size for someone like me with no self-control, anything larger would have been dangerous! Perfect crust and the pecan filling had lots of flavor!

Mississippi mud pie and apple crumble

Tried pie here on PI day this year! Got the Mississippi mud pie and the apple crumble. Haven't had a nicer pie here in Boston! The apple crumble was packed with apples and the pastry was cooked to perfection! Mississippi mud pie was like a brownie in pie form! Loved it.

Expensive local pie place, but I suppose expense is expected near Boston. I arrived an hour before closing and there were only a few pies on display. Fortunately, I was requested to get something in the apple genre and one such large pie remained (for 6 people - medium is not enough! we like dessert!). I can say that the taste was truly top notch - my mother's apple pies are my absolute favorite, nothing else compares, but this comes close enough that I found it tasty. That is not faint praise, I promise! But if you want a Petsi, do arrive early (or order ahead? I am not 100% certain how it works, not being a local) and do bring a lot of money. Because one pie was enough that I decided not to drop any more dough on... dough... so I only have the one pie to go by.

Popular pie place in Somerville. Large 10" $35 (6-8 pax), Medium 8" $18 (4-5 pax), Small 5" $9 (1-2 pax). Queues can be long at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Good: - chocolate bourbon pecan Ok: - mixed berries

Ordered pies for a work event, everyone enjoyed them. Only downside is they came cold, and am sure they'd taste even better warmed up. The cherry pie was delightful, not sweet and everything paired well with the crimson berry iced tea. Definitely will be ordering from them again.

Came here after seeing them on the best pies list. Came in with high expectation and left somewhat disappointed. They were good - just nothing special to me. Wouldn't go out of my way to go there again. Service was good though.

Best pie shop in greater Boston. Love the broad variety of fresh-baked sweet and savory flavors as well as the different size options they offer for most pies. I have gotten full size pies for Thanksgiving, birthdays, and other holidays though more commonly will go for their small (1-2 serving) and mini pies if I'm just buying for myself or a smaller group and want to try a few different flavors. Buttery/flaky crusts and a mix of classic fillings like apple, pecan, chocolate, and mixed berry in addition to a range of seasonal options like key lime, peach, strawberry rhubarb, etc. they also have a full range of coffee drinks as well as other pastries (cookies, biscuits, brownies) to supplement or for the less pie-inclined in your party!

I've only had the pecan pie, the cherry pie, and some muffins / cookies, but I have always been VERY happy with what I've gotten.

A lot of orders are for pick up, and this is definitely the move if you want to avoid the wait. - G.O.A.T., (5/5): added a turkey sausage - delicious! egg was perfectly cooked and the English muffins were nicely toasted - Sausage McVinal, (4.5/5): so good. If you like a classic egg McMuffin, this is that but 10x better - Sam-I-Am, (4/5): after we tried the other to-go orders... we decided to try more. this tasted so good fresh, and the garlicky greens were a bit wet, but added a nice punchier flavor I would 100% come back here again, and I left with 2 types of English muffins (original and jalapeño corn) and they were GREAT. A simple cream cheese or salted butter spread, toasted is great. The texture is what sets it apart from other English muffins. I wish they lasted longer in the pantry. The shelf life is around 4-5 days, but then the solution would be to just have a constant shipment of them. Problem solved ;^)

The place was extremely busy yet well organized as they were pushing orders out efficiently and in a timely manner without sacrificing the quality of the product. I ordered the iced maple latte and the G.O.A.T. with the addition of bacon on their classic English muffin. The latte was very good. The breakfast sandwich was also delicious. The egg was cooked a little bit more than I would've liked, but the bacon was cooked perfectly, the goat cheese butter added richness, the pesto was fresh and their house made English muffins are excellent. It's obvious that they use great quality ingredients for everything they make. It's also not crazy expensive which is also a plus. It's a little bit out of the way for me, but if I'm ever around Union Square again I'll make a point to return!

This one didn't have a long line that I knew their North End location would certainly be marked by. On our first visit, we tried a plain cannoli to have a baseline of what to expect. We also tried a pistachio macaron. On the second visit, we tried a red velvet whoopie pie and a pistachio cannoli. The cannoli's are fire. The shell is thick, crispy and they hold up. They're stuffed with sweet creamy ricotta. It's a perfect pairing of soft cream and a hard shell. This location had a few bar seats available at the window and against the wall. There's a huge window of sweet treats on display. I definitely recommend visiting, try a cannoli and get something to go. They have everything from lobster tails to Boston cream pie. I think it would take someone with a lot of will power to come here and walk out without getting something.

Mike's Pastry in Cambridge brings the famous North End bakery experience to Harvard Square, making…read moreit easy to enjoy their iconic pastries without heading into downtown Boston. Located on Dunster Street, the shop is designed for efficiency, with a straightforward layout that keeps the line moving even during busy hours. There are a few counter seats inside, but it's primarily a grab-and-go destination where most people leave carrying one of the bakery's signature string-tied pastry boxes. The cannolis are the main reason to visit, and they certainly live up to their reputation in terms of size. The classic chocolate chip cannoli is generously filled from end to end with a rich, sweet ricotta cream, while the crisp shell provides just the right amount of crunch. If you're looking for something a little different, the Florentine cannoli is an excellent choice. Its honey-nut shell adds an extra layer of texture and a subtle caramelized flavor that pairs beautifully with the creamy filling. Beyond the cannolis, the bakery offers an impressive selection of Italian pastries, cookies, cakes, and other desserts. The lobster tails are another popular option, with flaky layers surrounding a rich cream filling, and the display cases are filled with enough variety to make it difficult to choose just one item. Prices are a bit higher than your average neighborhood bakery, but the portions are generous enough that many pastries can easily be shared. Service is quick and efficient, with staff focused on keeping the line moving throughout the day. Since seating is limited, it's worth taking your pastries to nearby Harvard Yard or the Charles River, where you can enjoy them at a more relaxed pace. Mike's Pastry may be best known for its North End flagship, but the Cambridge location delivers the same oversized cannolis and classic Italian desserts in a much more convenient setting. Whether you're craving the original chocolate chip cannoli or one of their many other pastries, it's an easy stop whenever you're spending time around Harvard Square.
