This location has great prices listed across the store including clearance items but sadly that's not the price you get at the register. 1 clearance item was marked as full price and after seeing this in my car I returned the item. The right thing for the store to do would be to check the price and tell me I'm correct (I was) and fix the issue. But I guess making the sale wasn't that important. I later got home and noticed other items were off but not enough for me to notice originally and not enough for me to go back to the store and return the item. Not happy to be lied to. I stopped at a Petsmart location and purchased a top paw leash for around $10 during my road trip home from visiting a friend. Upon returning home I realized I no longer needed the leash and went into the Lakewood store location in Dallas near my home to return it with original receipt in hand as well as merchandise in original condition with tag on it. I was refused this return based on the fact that I bought it from a different store location, which is now hours away. I politely informed the manager that Petsmart's return policy states that you may return merchandise bought with receipt and a credit card purchase to any petsmart location according to the website and showed it to her. I asked why I was being denied and why she was not upholding company policy. I was met with hostility and interrogation as to why did I purchase from a store so far away. I asked the manger what that had to do with anything. I could have purchased it from a whole other state on vacation that's neither here nor there. I have my receipt and merchandise with tag and no longer wish to keep the item. She told me she was allowed to deny a refund for any reason or no reason at all. I am absolutely disgusted with PetSmarts lack of customer service, horrible business practices and the way I was treated. Had I purchased this collar from Amazon I could have saved myself the trip, public humiliation, agony and my money. Companies that allow their management to treat customers poorly only help put retailers out of business sooner. With all of the competition from online I can't imagine that customers would make another purchase from petsmart knowing they will go through stress and humiliation trying to make a return. We utilize this location as a one-stop-shop for all of our pups needs, including: food, toys, cleaning supplies as well as grooming (2x month). This weekend, we went in to get our Pitskie's nails trimmed, "a pawdicure", and while trying to check-in the lady at the counter of the grooming room, literally said, "Hold on a few minutes, until he finishes with that dog (pointing to another employee already in the middle of something), and he can take care of you. I am clocking out in three minutes." I looked at my fiance with a humorous smirk and said, "of course". The lack of customer service resulted in ultimate confusion when trying to pay for our service due to the shift change and the employee who was actually working with our dog, was not aware that we were not properly checked in. Purely a lack of communication from the customer and the employee who was most concerned with clocking out in time. At the end of the day, we were initially charged for the previous clients service and they were charged with ours. The staff at the counter was persistent on getting this resolved and they did, even discounting our correct services. I write this review based on the simple fact that this particular employee has caused a roadblock in my PetSmart experience at this location more than once. Maybe management will get tired of handing out $10 discounts to grooming customers because they are trying to fill a void of terrible customer service... as I have no problem pay full price for anything if the experience isn't a hassle or an inconvenience. read more

If you are a TRUE pet owner and care for your fur children, DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. The complete incompetence of the "leaders" here is disgusting. They say they have protocols in place for certain things but never have I seen them ask certain questions to follow those protocols. Brought my pups here 2 weeks ago and for years before then and now they can't take them.. why? Because years ago they told me how anxious my boy was and if he wasn't calm next time they wouldn't take him so I got him on some medicine for grooming appointments and vet appointments ( prescribed by our veterinarian). fast forward years later and after A LOT of money spent at this grooming place, they can't take him BECAUSE I SAID SOMETHING ABOUT HIS MEDICATION. NEVER have they asked " an oral question " of is my dogs on medicine? THEY DIDNT EVEN ASK ME TODAY AND THEY WERE ALREADY TAKING MY DOG BACK. Again, just lack of leadership. The store manger Joey is an idiot who doesn't even know his own guidelines and procedures. And the "lead groomer" hates her job so don't give her any time. The last time I brought the boys, which was two weeks ago, they said to try the new nail trimmer because it would be easier on the dogs nails, when I picked up our boys The groomer had blood on her apron and we asked if it was from one of our puppies and she said yes it was and she grinned down to far.. So even after an incident like that I gave them the benefit of the doubt and brought them back today only to be turned away because of the medication incident. read more

Banfield failed to treat my dog properly and she subsequently died at the emergency vet mere hours later. Their severely unprofessional veterinarian at the Lakewood (Dallas, TX) location callously called the next morning to let me know it wasn't her fault and began rambling on about my dog was "in great health" when she saw her. Not only has @banfieldpethospital charged me for the "services rendered," they're now forcing me to pay for the remainder of her "Wellness Plan." Please do not trust these people, they are only looking to make money. Please, for the sake of your animals, do not use Banfield; feel free to DM me for details. read more

I like having a Petsmart nearby! Lots of toys for all the furry friends in your life. I like being able to browse through the aisles without being asked if I need help. The time that I did need help the employee was friendly and helped me choose a good dog toy. read more

Terrible customer service. I'm never one to write reviews but I have never been treated so poorly by dog groomers! I showed up at my appointment time, they told me my paperwork wasn't in the system. So I said I was going to run home and get the hard copies, I live not even five minutes away. I came back and they said they wouldn't see me because I was late! I said I was just here 5 minutes ago, and they said I'm sorry we just don't have time! So so poor. I cannot even believe they are still in business, their clientele must be through the roof busy. Never again, I do not recommend this place for anyone or any animal. If they can't treat humans nicely, what do they do to our pets?! read more

Had a great experience with PetSmart Grooming! I was looking for a groomer I could book online, and their online service was fast and easy. I was uneasy talking my golden retriever to a store grooming service, but this location was clean and smelled nice. I liked that it was located at the front of the store, where it was visible to customers. Staff was very friendly. Most importantly, my dog loved it!! I have had to drag her out of the car for Dee's Doggie Den and CityVet, but she happily went with them and wasn't desperate to leave. Will definitely use in the future! read more

Great products and supplies, but I would definitely would never buy live animals there. Tons of living creatures are stuffed into small compartments. I am amazed at any negative reviews of this location. It's always nice and clean, the staff is very helpful and friendly. Of course, you are not going to get everything for free, so maybe that was the issue. We always make a point of going to this location. Now, I treat my dogs like they are my children, so they wouldn't get a great review if I weren't COMPLETELY satisfied. I'm still laughing about the "ghetto feel" of this store. This review is not only for the petsmart grooming salon, but the management of the overall store. They didn't finish his haircut (and didn't bother telling me when they called), they cost my a HIGH vet bill, and they told me they weren't going to give me my dog over a payment miscommunication. PetSmart cashier told me about how "petsmart grooming is the worse groomer in the world" - First let me start by saying that there was obviously a miscommunication about payment, which is understandable. When I dropped my pet off, I was told that I could pay over the phone just as I had done the PREVIOUS visit. This ended up not being the case when they called to let me know my pet was ready. They told me that I could not pay over the phone and this was only an issue because I could not leave work and I did not want to stick the person with the bill. All of this was not the big issue as I was able to find a way to leave work and go get him, but before that I asked here what would happen if I couldn't get payment with the person picking up the dog to which she told me that they would keep him. "So you're going to hold my dog hostage?" She said no, but again told me without payment she would not give me my dog back. I know that this is highly illegal and when I mentioned that she told me to call the police. All this is besides the point. I understand payment form was a miscommunication and I can take fault for that. Illegally holding my dog hostage is NOT ok. I ended up coming back a few days later for a full refund and heres why - After dealing with the mess that was the manager over the phone, I pick my dog up and he comes out UNFINISHED. His feet were not groomed at all. Nobody bothered to tell me this when they called to let me know he was ready, nobody bothered to tell me when I picked up. I pointed it out and they said "Oh yeah, we didn't finish" One guy said "We aren't allowed to muzzle his breed" ?!!? Bullshit (I work at a vet). Then the manager said "Well we could only muzzle him for so long" So which one is it? Did they even try and trim his feet? No. My guess is they did a body shave down and called it a day. I asked if that was all they couldn't get done and they told me yes. WRONG. I took him home to find him limping. When he finally let me look at his feet, I saw that his nails hadn't been trimmed (this happened the first visit but the groomer - who is no longer there - did such a good job I let it go) and that a toenail on the non weight bearing foot was SPLIT and bloody. I was absolutely horrified. I took him to his normal vet the next day and the nail had to be completely ripped out. He was so sensitive, he had to be sedated, nail removed, and bandaged. Needless to say, corporate got a copy of my $250 vet bill, all because the groomer broke his toe nail. Which surprisingly no one could explain why. Annnnnnnd to top it all off, when I was in for my refund the cashier told me "Oh yeah, petsmart is not the place to get a dog groomed. You're lucky it was just a toenail. I've seen dogs lose half a ear, get their eyes scratched, etc. I've seen some bad stuff." WHAT???!!! Who is working your front cash register? Appalling. read more

I took my Havanese in for grooming, it had been awhile and she was a bit of a mess. She can also be a little difficult with strangers. But the receptionist was great and took detailed instructions. When I came to pick her up the groomer talked to me and explained that he spent a lot of time on her ears because they were matted. They had done a really good job, were very friendly and helpful. I will be bringing in my golden retriever next. Im so happy to have a new Petsmart so close to home! read more

I called to get my dog groomed at another store.... Well actually 2 but they were all booked, for two days! I called this location and they fit me in, I showed and the staff was very polite but a little uneducated about certain things. He showed me a cut on another dog which was "a trim" I showed up and my dog was shaved!!!!!! I have a huge German shepherd which are not meant to be shaved, not only that they did not touch his tail! Not only do they have horrible customer service and a huge lack of basic people skills, they have little to no idea of how to properly groom or care for any animal. What is that smell?!!! You walk in and are hit immediately by the smell of rotten food or something along those lines. Also, when we walked in, two employees were standing in front of the register, leaning on, and having a personal conversation that they did not break to even greet us. First off let me say that I have taken my Yorkie-poo here several times for a bath and a cut and haven't been too disappointed. The reason I kept going here is because I didn't really know where else to go. Up until my last visit yesterday I was at least moderately satisfied with the service. However yesterday morning I had barely gotten out of the parking lot after dropping her off when I received a phone call from the grooming salon manager, Alena. She told me that they were going to change her breed from a Yorkie-poo to a shitzu because she was bigger than a normal Yorkie. First off she's not just a Yorkie she is a Yorkie poo. She is only 13 pounds so it's not like she is big. She then told me that because she is bigger than a typical Yorkie the cost for the cut would cost more. I told her that I was uncomfortable with her changing her breed and that out of all the times I had taken her there before no one had ever said anything or wanted to change anything. It didn't make sense. So I hung up with her and called the manager. The manager told me that they shouldn't be changing the information and it was unacceptable blah blah blah. She assured me everything would be fine and she would fix it. When I went to go pick her up the manager told me that she was changed to a miniature poodle in the system and that it wasn't due to the size of her but because of her hair. Which is obviously a load of bull because the stupid woman kept telling me that it was because of her size. Whatever. I will not be taking my dog back there. I told her while she was at it why didn't she just change her to a Saint Bernard. Idiots. read more

Puppy training with Patrick is fantastic! Patrick has worked wonders with our hyper 12 week old Brittany Spaniel. Patrick is the right combination of firm and gentle with the dogs and explains the thought process behind the training for the owners. terrible customer service in the fish/reptile section....upon asking for 5$ worth of pinhead crickets [tiny feeder crickets have been called pinheads for as far back as i remember ] i was met with a blank stare so i elaborated by saying small feeder crickets....finally the woman pointed them out and started walking away ...i had to stop her and to say i needed to purchase some ...she stooped and put her hand on her hip and said ..i quote'''your going to make me touch them aren't you'' my response was sort of a blank stare ...she then grudgingly began to assist us ....i told her i needed 5$ worth [they are 12 cents a piece] she then says in a sarcastic tone ...'''now your going to make me count them?'' i didnt know exactly how to respond to this so i said '' please give me SOME ...any amount will do ...whatever... a couple dollars worth will be fine ..just whatever''' and i ended up with 3.60 worth [magic number i supose????] we got our feeders and began to window shop for aquarium fish and during the 5 minute period we were asked if we needed assistance at least twice by other employees ....the last of which after being told we DID NOT NEED assistance hovered over us until we felt quite uncomfortable and decided to just checkout and leave .....while this store is much closer and more convenient for us we will not be going back and we will be traveling a bit futher up the road to petco where they are happy to help us with our weekly order of feeder crickets etc......very poor ! read more

Do not use PetSmart for grooming. We have never been satisfied with the quality or service but have returned several times for convenience. Today we took our dog in and the front desk person told us he needed to "go get Chick Fil A for breakfast" then he will start and our dog would be done in 3 hours. After our dog had been at the groomer for over 5 hours, we called to check on him and were told "Your groomer will call you in 30 minutes when he's ready to leave." When they called back, they told us it would be 2 more hours because he had actually fallen off the table earlier and they took him to the vet because they thought he had broken bones. Please note that this was done without our knowledge or permission. From the time our dog fell off the table until they called was at least an hour and a half and he was only partially groomed. They never called to tell us that he fell off the table or asked our preference of vet. Without our permission or knowledge, they took him to the Banfield vet within Petsmart and then told us it would be 3 additional hours while they 1) waited on an x-Ray tech and 2) determined whether Petsmart would cover the cost of x-Ray. We left immediately with our partially groomed dog and went to our own vet. Will never be back. If I could leave negative stars I would. read more
