Extremely disappointed in their grooming services. I do not recommend at all. I took in my mini poodle for a grooming and I provided them with every single proof that he has all of his shots (even my adoption centers papers) and the woman STILL refused to cut his hair! She said she will take him in if all of his shots are redone for an additional charge. My baby recently got his annual shots and they want to REDO them only two months later???? they will put my dog at risk. In addition she was a bit rude. read more

My two puppies had appointments today at 11:30am my kids where there to drop them off at 10:55am. So they told them they had to wait which they did. I called them at 11:40 and the groomer was not there yet. This is the second time this happens. Never again will I com here. I am moving to PetCo (in South Gate) my coworker told me her groomer Vivian is amazing. Might as well give them a try. I took my 7 pounds dog for a haircut, bath and nail trim. In an hour they'll call me to pick it up. They didn't do the haircut and I'm not sure if they bathed him, the explanation they gave was incredible, that the dog was anxious and the groomer Isabel was afraid that he would harm her. They seem to want a little puppy to behave like a person. It's a total disrespect to the customer. read more

Steve is one of the nicest managers I've ever met at a Petsmart. It's a bit understaffed but he makes up for it! I will say though, I think this place has a lack of cleanliness for the fish department. Shortly after introducing some fish from this place, all my fish somehow got infected with Ick. It's a spot condition that really messes up and kills your fish because it goes unseen until the white spots start showing up. Thankfully I purchased some ICK Guard by API and most of the fish are surviving just fine. Not sure if I'd come back, but hey everything works itself out. read more

Went into the salon on a Friday night. 2 groomers were working on 2 different dogs. Both looked unhappy and not smiling. The only guy there was clipping nails. Dog was crying. They need to work on training people with customers service. I found a dog and decided to take it to get chip checked. I was helped by Angie and off the bat she gave me attitude. I'd called before hand to make sure they'd see me since I'd be there a little over an hour before closing she said yes. I get there greeted with attitude and eye rolls. I mention I'd called about checking the chip on a found dog she throws over a paper I have to fill out then then continues having a pointless conversation with a "customer". I wait patiently then she tells me it'll be 45 min! Mind you they are about to close so I ask would you have enough time to do what you have to do since your gonna close soon (I didn't wanna wait around just to be told they had to close and couldn't do anything) she rolled her eyes sighed and said I need you to be patient because it's a long process. All I wanted was to get the dog to it's family but the funny thing is after she "did what she could" I asked for her name and instantly had a mood change. Smh work on customer service read more

I give PetSmart 3 stars based on an experience I had last week. I Took my dog for a grooming appointment at 8:00am (Early appointments work better for me) to find out that the appointment had been canceled. I had to call again to reschedule but they could not offered me an early appointment ;They said they were fully booked. The lady on the phone showed an attitude and was rude when she told me "we don't have early appointments available". She offered me an appointment for the following week in the afternoon, even though I explained the situation to her. PetSmart staff, if you cancel an appointment you must contact the customer to reschedule at the customer's convenience . We deserve to be treated with respect. read more

I absolutely love this location. I am a fish loving person, has been for almost 5+ years now. OSCAR is the fish genius there. His advice, solutions, and instructions have never been wrong. I was able to keep my tank healthy and alive with fresh water cichlids all these years. Now I live more then an hour away but still looks for OSCAR'S help with my fishes. read more

There is really poor communication between the managers/team. I called for information on training classes and couldn't get a straight answer. After they took my phone number to call me back with information, I never received a call back. So I called 2 days later (today, 2 hours before class start) and was given a confident answer that I could show up to and pay for the training class tonight because there was space available. After arriving with my dog, it turns out the class was already overbooked weeks ago and they couldn't take us. First, the manager (or lead) didn't believe that I called and wanted me to prove on my phone the number I called. Then he went to speak with his team to find out who talked to me, and no one would own up to their mistake. So he returned, saying I didn't talk to anyone on his team and they wouldn't take us in the class. After a very chaotic and irritating interaction, we will be taking training courses elsewhere. The only person who was understanding and truly apologetic for situation was the trainer Jenny; she's the only reason we are even ok giving a star at all. read more

I have been coming to this petsmart for a very long time to purchase items and take my dog for grooming. My dog had an appointment with Karen Galindo, and May I just say what a outgoing and knowledgeable associate. She seen my dogs skin condition and recommended CHI which of course I always get but my dog doesn't get better. So she asked me about my dogs diet, she knew everything I was astonished. I went from pedigree to simplynourished with salmon and my dogs skin is shiny and healthy! My dog came out of the grooming salon looking great. And this time when she said her nails were going to be rounded she legit did that! I only take my dog to Karen. Make sure to tip people when the service is super good. read more

I signed up for pet training and was absolutely blown away. I honestly believed I would finish the classes dissapointed, seeing as my dog was a little on the wild side and inept to sitting still... But after a few classes with the dog trainer, my dog actually obeys when other dogs are around...which is a huge load off my shoulders. As long as you're committed to practicing with the clicker (provided) and using the methods you learn in class AT HOME AS WELL, you will see a drastic change!!! I had to buy my dog a lot of tasty treats to get her used to the training(she's expensive and picky), but it's worth it..(and it beats being embarrassed at dog parks and beaches!!) I don't know how many dog trainers they have, but I highly recommend Araceli! She was patient and knew exactly how to handle my husky. Excellent customer service as well. 5 stars!!!!!!! read more

This was probably the worst experience I have ever had with Petsmart!! I took my dog in at 9:30am for her grooming appointment. I had booked a full on groom. I dropped off my dog too her groomer Amanda. And she told me my dog would be done around 1:30-2:00. OKAY UNDERSTANDABLE. Around 12:10 my mother gets a voicemail letting her know that my dog was gunna be another hour or so because she supposedly had an accident in the kennel and she rolled around in her poop!! First of all, how the hell is that even possible!!! We call them back and my mom finally gets info that my poor damn dog had been sitting in the kennel since 9:30!!! SHE HAD NOT BEEN GROOMED YET! They told us since my dog "rolled in her pooped" that they had to bath her and let her air dry. WHICH IS CRAP!!! So, we say forget this and we go pick up my dog. Me being a dog owner (and that being my baby) I was so furious! My dog had been sitting in her kennel since 9:30, was probably scared so she pooped herself and her damn groomer decided to check up on my dog whenever she pleased and saw she had pooped herself!! On my way to Petsmart, I called and spoke to the salon manager Amanda who was pretty damn rude and sassy herself. I explained to her how I was upset and she kept giving me the "well I'm sorry" excuse, WHICH WAS CRAP. During our conversation she told me that my dogs groomer was on her lunch and that she would attend to my dog in about an hour. EXCUSE ME BUT MY DOG HAD BEEN SITTING IN THE KENNEL SINCE 9:30AM WITHOUT BEING FED. I told the manager that I did not appreciate the fact that the groomer didn't tell me that, because I knew that I would've understood, but you bet your butt I didn't this time!! The manager said to me in the most rudest way "well she does have to take a lunch so.." and that was the cherry on the cake! I told her that I understood that people need to take a lunch before their 5th hour considering I have a job myself. BUT THAT WAS JUST RIDICULOUS!! You have a job to do, that you said you would be down around 1:30, finish your damn job! My mother and I get to Petsmart, and speak to someone higher then the salon manager and he was very upset and understood where we were coming from. I don't know what the Amanda and Andrea told the man, but he was surprised and was happy he spoke to us and got our side of the story. We ended up paying for a bath ($27) which I didn't even wanna pay for anything because what they did was not okay!! I will NEVER bring my dog back to this location!!! We only have issues at this location and now I definitely know to never come back. Screw you and your grooming team. Be more professional next time!!! I hate being rude to people who work in the customer service department (as I work in the same) but this was just ridiculous!!! ONE LAST THING! They gave us our dog progress report (which they do at every appointment) and boy were they sure to write everything down. But let me tell you this, everything that was written was complete BULLCRAP! My dog has never had an issue with being blowdried. And it even said "every time we blow dried her. She pooped" talk about lies!!!!!!! Making it seem like it's MY DOGS FAULT! I blow dry my dog at home and she loves it. The other Petsmart she goes too , told me she loves it too. It's just at your location that has an issue! Last night I came about 5 minutes to closing. I was rushing all the way from Norwalk to get a cone for my cat who had surgery. I went in, not even greeted. I asked a woman there where I could find a cone for my cat and she rudely replied "You see that big sign with the huge cat? Right there" Such a big help, obviously it's not going to be in the bird section. So I go around the cat aisle and couldn't find it and time is running out since they are about to close and I ask another woman there and she said "we don't have any for cats, only for dogs and that's the second aisle to the back" rudely said again. I finally get my purchase but wasn't happy about the service. I don't care if it's almost closing time and you want to go home, you stay respectful with the customers. read more

Do NOT take your pet here for grooming! They shaved my dog and while doing so they cut him. They didn't even let me know that an incident had occurred with my dog. It wasn't till I brought him home and my dog couldn't sit that I noticed something was off. So I go and inspect his tail and butt, which is where I noticed that he had been cut. It is unacceptable that as his owner I was not made aware of what had happened! read more

When I shope here for the supplies, the associates just pass you by without even saying hello or asking if you need assistance. Place has dry pee on some aisles almost everytime I go and there are never any carts. Parking sucks, too. I had taken my dog over 4 years to this PetSmart. Many times I was not satisfied with the cut but I never said anything. Several times there were 'nick' on her and I still never said anything. However, the last time she had at least 8 cuts to her face, around her eyes and on her tummy. I didn't say anything and took her home. After seeing blood coming from some of the cuts I called to complain. A manager called me back 5 days later and asked me to bring my dog in. I said no because, by then, the cuts were well on their way to healing (I had put medicine on them). She was very rude and told me I should just take my dog elsewhere. I realize dogs can wiggle when being groomed but the customer service is HORRIBLE here and they did NOT refund or offer to refund my $60+). I wanted to picket in front of their store. At the very least I should have had an apology, a refund, and they should have either fired or re-trained the groomer. I will never do business w/any PetSmart again and will complain to anyone with a dog NOT to take them to PetSmart. After this ordeal, I have spoken to several other people who for one reason or another, quit going to PetSmart. read more

Yes my dog is difficult but i still think I should be received with great customer service and a damn smile. She's so serious and like she hates her job. Nothing but bad experiences here all the time. On my most recent visit the manager did not want to price match Petco's pricing on my dog food. I called the nearest Petco in front of her to validate their online pricing in the store. I even had it on speaker so the manager could hear and she still denied my pricing. I would've been totally cool with Petsmart's price, but the fact that she gave me major attitude made me return my purchase instantly. I buy dog feed twice a month from here and will never be coming back. I was there when thy took her out and began to cut her nails they made her cry and bleed so bad and she even pooped on herself they seriously made me feel so bad for my dog that I began to cry! There was a young girl there waiting for her dog too and she said omg! What are they doing to her and even she began to cry. Omg! To hear your fur baby in so much pain is ridiculous. I have a little Maltese the doctor gabbed him because he was hyper and told him to chill mind you my puppy is only 6 months year old.. Then I went to the grooming salon to get a trim around his eyes and none of the people wanted to do it. This petsmart has bead customer service. First of all there is no assistance, you have to hunt them down and when you find someone they have an attitude. Secondly, the cashier is rude and wot accept the coupons as advertised. Lastly, when you speak to the supervisor about the promotions they tell you they have the right to restrict the promotions and if your coupon doesn't have a barcode they won't accept it even though it is being advertised. Prices are incredibly unreasonable. Overall I give them no stars. I suggest going to their competing business Petco, which they are completely opposite of Petsmart . read more

I found a slider turtle roaming in my backyard a few days ago. We have no close water ways so I put up signs in my neighborhood. In the meantime I went to Downey Pet Smart and a very informative employee Daniel was so helpful and asked if I might want to have him adopted to a good family. I said yes as I have no experience with turtles. Daniel went out of his way to find a perfect home. I took him to a couples home that has a giant aquarium with other turtles and he took home right away eating all the food they where dropping in. I happy turtle...
