Petsmart can be expensive but what isn't these days? This is where we get our food and litter for our cats. We like the Hills Science Diet canned food for urinary tract and hairball. This store doesn't always carry our very specific item, so sometimes we have to scour the surrounding stores, which is annoying and time consuming. They have meet and greets with the cats and dogs from the barcs shelters sometimes, where adoption fees are waived or greatly discounted. I am always amused by their halloween costumes for pets, although I've never had a cat that was patient enough to let me dress them up. I always come to this PetSmart location with my puppy. Today was his Gotcha Day/birthday and I had to treat him with Bones and Toys. They had endless choices and unbeatable sales! Every time we come here, I use my phone number and earn points towards other purchases. The employees always have smiles on their faces and are always willing to help. Love the grooming salon and staff. I take my dog to get his nails done here and Alex in the salon does a great job. He is really fussy at home but she makes him feel calm. He sometimes gets a bath from her, as well. (Doesn't need grooming, he is short hair.) I also sometimes take my parents long haired dachshunds over there for them, as well. I get to take them back to their home looking fantastic with well-shaped coats, glistening in the sun. Their female gets bows and feathers in her hair sometimes. The women that all work here know my parents dogs really well now by name and are all very friendly in general. Great experience. read more

Long story short the manager, Bobby responded to a survey that I filled out regarding my visit to the grooming salon. First time using their services at this location. I've used Petsmart grooming at another location but my groomer no longer works there so I have been trying to locate another groomer for my Maltipoo. They did not do a very good job and should have contacted me before continuing the service. I am use to my dog being shaved due to her tight curly hair at the roots but never a full face to tail shave. It's going to take months for her hair to grow back. Manager was apologetic but this was an unacceptable service and I will not return. One shows how she was shaved completely ...other pic shows how she is normally cut/shaved for the same service at her previous location. Again if the groomer was not sure how to proceed I should have received a phone call not just cut all her hair off. read more

This review is for the store only, I haven't done grooming here. But that's not to say I won't try it; I've normally had really good experiences with Petsmart groomers when we lived in Florida. This store always has the food that my dog eats; which is Blue dry kibble and Pro Plan chicken in gravy in the cans. Honestly, I've had a hard time finding this combination of food in other stores (petsupermarket? Forget it. Dogma? I got a snotty "we don't carry that brand" when I called to ask. You do t carry Blue? Really? It's like, one of the pricier ones?!) Anyways, the groom went we'll and my dog looked sharp. Her nails were trimmed and it didn't break the bank. Will be back. read more

We had to stop by here today to pick up some kitteh supplies. With 1 cat and 2 VERY active kittens, we go through a ton of food and litter per week, so coming here only makes sense. The staff was extremely helpful and answered all of the questions that we had concerning products and amount of stock. They did have mostly everything we needed. I was a bit surprised to see a lot of higher-end brands here - things like Blue Buffalo, etc. They had a good selection of kittehs for adoption, too, mainly from the Harford County Humane Society shelter - there was one huge white kitteh that I really considered adopting - if only we didn't have three already! He was probably the biggest, happiest boy I ever saw. :) Prices were okay. We picked up a great deal on cases of Friskies wet, which we're happy about, since the one cat won't eat anything else. Very small section for birds and small animals - I was a bit surprised. They could use a little more variety. The store itself seemed smaller than usual, too. We'll probably come here again if they have a good sale going on. read more

The insect feeders provided are little to none. I've came here 5 consecutive weekends to look for feeders only to find crickets. No selection of meal worms or super worms just crickets. Very disappointed in little to no selection and I have to drive all the way to rosedale petco just to get feeders. read more

Stay away from the grooming salon! Front desk lady is rude af and very likely racist. (Before you skip the rest of the review, the people in the store itself were very nice though) Figured my dog needed a nice bath after a week's stay at the dog sitters'. Also we expected to be exhausted after traveling. Made an appointment a few days in advance (strangely this was the only location near me which had many slots open while others were all full, it all makes sense to me now). Got into the pet grooming area right on time, and some random customer/friend started chatting to us while the front desk lady didn't even greet/look at us until I walked up to her and told her I have an appointment. She said she needed to "check" first, then patted my dog down and said that her fur is a little "impacted" on the butt area and needs to be shaven down, and that she needed to reschedule us. Which is ridiculous because I never had this problem with other locations, they always took care of everything even though it means they need to spend extra time on my dog. Also, tangled fur is why Furminator baths exist (that is what I booked). She said the next availability is 3 days after but I told her I couldn't wait that long. She gave me the "I can't help you" look and left us standing there. We said thank you and walked out. As expected, zero replies from her. Talk about bad customer service. I drove 30mins to and back for nothing. I got home and washed my dog, spent some time to brush her down, she's good as new. I don't know what she was talking about having to shave her down. I'm never coming back to this location. read more

I can not say enough nice things about Alex in the grooming department. My dog really doesn't like going to the groomer and starts shaking when we arrive. Alex is always gentle and kind. She does a great job grooming him too. Very professional and usually done within 2 hours. read more

The Grooming Salon was horrible I had my dog there to be groomed she came home with a skin infection and a broken nail that would not stop bleeding I'm now at $200 and vet bills and it's been three weeks they seem to be very good at avoiding me to keep from paying the bill that is their responsibility. I go into the store to buy essentials for a new dog and asked about exchange policy at check out. I was told that I can exchange with the receipt. The next day, I go in with my daughter to do the exchange. upon our arrival, I speak to one of the cashiers to explain the situation to see if I needed to leave the items with her. She was very nice and took the bag from me and asked for me to find her at check out. I look around the store and I pick extra items as well. I go find the cashier to proceed with check out. She asked me to patiently wait for the manager to Authorized the exchange. I wait for the manager at the cashier for like 15 minutes. A very rude man shows up at the cashier accusing me in front of my child and a store full of customers that I did not walk into the store with this bag and he looked at the cameras! I asked him to look at the receipt and ask his employee about me handing her the bag ! He then threatens me to call the police. I asked him to call the police and I will wait for them. At that time I called into PetSmart HR and left them a message to their voice mail reporting such disgusting and unacceptable behaviour from their manager. The manager came back trying to say that they will need Authorisation from inventory department to proceed. I was not interested into listening to his lies and asked him did you call the police? He said no. He did not apologise or tried to say that this was a misunderstanding. I asked him not to talk to me tell the police get here because I will be the one calling them to report this! Two officers shows up to later find out that he did call them but later found out it was a mistake or misunderstanding. That manager was not interested in providing any customer service at all , but rather accuse good binding tax paying citizens with crimes with zero ground evidence. I don't know what kind of training or hiring policies PetSmart currently have. However, they are responsible for their own manager misconduct, incompetence, humiliating, and threatening behaviour. This is a place where pet owners go with their kids to be treated like criminals! It is simply disgusting and sickening. I was and still am furious on how a manager could spit out so many lies at one time about reviewing the cameras , calling the cops, and the returning policies thinking that it is ok and will get a way with it. I'm still hopeful that PetSmart will do the right thing handling such serious situation. You would think with everything that is going on in the world pandemic wise that people could do better as human beings. read more

This pet store is convenient to my home, the cashiers are always curteous and greet you upon entering the store. This store has a wide selection of food brands and toys etc. My kitten eats Blue Buffalo so there are plenty of options for wet and dry foods for her there. Tons of toys and treats. We also own a dog. We purchase all her treats and shampoos and meds here ( dog aspirin etc). They have a wide array of dog toys and clothes for all size dogs! The store is always clean and fully stocked. They have plenty of small pets for sale, guinea pigs, lizards, birds, etc. This store also has cats you can adopt and dog training. What a wonderful store for our area!!! Keep up the great work. Ill keep coming in. read more

As they sat in an empty salon they told me they were swamped and couldn't fit us in and made no attempts to find us another appointment. Their professionalism and demeanor is just plain uncomfortable and staunch. It's a shame because I was a loyal customer for years and I will never go back. read more

After scheduling an appointment for 9 am I was told I had to come back 3-4 hours later to pick him up ....this is my first appointment maybe there should have been a disclaimer when scheduling. All I can say is wow leave all your doubts at the door. First of all PetSmart was able to get me in same day I called which I really appreciated due to the heat wave. My puppy Murphy is 7 months old and he is a Havanese. I was extremely worried they would cut him to short and make him look like a poodle or Yorkie. I tried grooming him at home several times but it never looked right. I brought in several pictures of what I wanted vs what I did not and showed them to Bethany. She was extremely good at communicating. I explained Murphy has anxiety peeing and pees in his crate. Man Bethany jumped into action. She assured me everything would be ok and that he would be well tended to. I came back an hour later just as they were bringing him out to cut him. I stood by the cat section and watched as they lovingly and expertly groomed him exactly as I asked. The groomer spoke to Murphy, gave him kisses, and loved on him as she was grooming him. Bethany even came out to the cat section to very the length of his beard prior to cutting. They said he had no accidents and was a perfect gentleman. I am so impressed and I will be coming back I highly recommend PetSmart. read more

Not to much to say, it's a pet store. The service is pretty pedestrian, noting to horrible, nothing to bad. Many time i wish they had more cashiers, it gets a bit tiring lugging around a 30lb bag of dog food. Also not always happey they they are sometimes out of things quickly, like sale or discount items. So if you see something on sale or discount, might want to get their that day. read more

I prefer the Petco in Rosedale over this one. I tried to get a new parakeet a little over 2 months ago here. However, the lady helping us was in no way helpful or trained correctly. First off, the parakeet wings aren't clipped there anymore apparently, which I didn't want to believe was true because of what followed. The lady talked about how parakeets weren't supposed to come out of their cages, weren't social with humans, and they had to live in pairs (we only wanted one and made that clear). However, all the information she gave us was contradicting all the previous research I have done. Also, when I got my first bird from there, Nova, he had his wings clipped and the lady helping us accurate information. He only lived for 4 days. This place is really not the best for birds, and I only really get my bird Twiggy's perch covers and some toys from there. I'm only planning to add perches to the list once he starts coming out of his cage and we can change things up a little for him. read more

I took my dog in today for a bath at the grooming salon at the PetSmart in Dundalk, MD. NEVER AGAIN. This was my first time using their grooming services and I wish I had read some of the other reviews on their page before taking him in! My dog is very nervous especially when I am not around. I watched as the very rude girl at the front desk practically had to drag him in the back and was not very encouraging to him at all. When I came to pick him up, I asked the very same rude girl up front how he did, to which her response was "I don't know I wasn't with him". Are you serious? For it being his first time in their salon I would like a little bit more than that. She didn't even offer to ask the groomer personally. I then get home and he smells nothing like the tangerine shampoo they claimed to have used and he still had funk around his eyes. I will be giving him a bath myself tomorrow needless to say. I then called to store to speak to the manager about my concerns, where I got put on hold for almost 15 minutes and then I heard the phone pick up and then hang up. The employees seemed completely miserable and like they hated their jobs. I will be finding somewhere else for my fur baby!! read more
