Lots of parking, pretty good sized, organized, clean, Petsmart. This location offers grooming, puppy training, various pets adoption (I saw cats, hamsters, fish, lizards). So happy I stopped by today, scored puppy pads and a cute pink ToP Paw brand harness on sale for my pup. She loves Petsmart, her tail wags every time I tell her we're going to Petsmart. Your leashed dog is allowed to walk with you ! I appreciate this store for the wide selection of brands for food and treats . Do not get your pet groomed here. We paid extra for "express" service that wasn't actually express, got surprise fees, a terrible haircut, and absolutely no effort to make it right from Kiarah We took our Golden Retriever to the PetSmart on Newhope street today for grooming, and this will be our last visit. We have always paid the extra $15 for the express service because it means our dog is worked on from start to finish rather than being put in a kennel. Every time we have used this service, it has taken around an hour and a half. Today our appointment was at 12:30. It took about 15 minutes just for someone to check us in, and when we arrived we were told it would probably take closer to two hours. We were confused because we have used the express service multiple times and it has never taken longer than an hour and a half. We ended up not getting a call until 3:00 PM saying our dog was "10 minutes from being done" and that we should start driving over. At that point, we were already well past the timeframe we were told. When I questioned why I should still have to pay the $15 express fee when the service clearly was not express, I was told our dog was "difficult" because he kept trying to lay down while they were grooming him and that other people had to help hold him up. Apparently this also happened during his previous visit, yet they still managed to complete his grooming within the hour-and-a-half express timeframe. He is a very sweet, well-mannered dog and has never had issues being groomed or handled anywhere else, so calling him a "difficult dog" was especially frustrating. Then, on top of everything, we were told there would be an additional $10 de-matting fee because the hair on his tail was supposedly matted. I understand that his hair was a little tangled because he was due for a trim, but according to PetSmart's own policy, we should have been contacted before additional services/fees were added. We were NOT. Instead, we were told about the extra charge when we came to pick him up. When we expressed that we did not agree with paying an additional fee we were never informed about, the groomer pulled out the paperwork we signed at check-in, which essentially says that we agree to pay for whatever additional services they determine are necessary. Of course we have to sign that paperwork in order for them to groom our dog, so using it afterward as justification for adding unexpected charges felt extremely misleading. It basically felt like, "You signed it, so we can charge you whatever we decide is necessary." That is not good customer service. And to make matters worse, his haircut looked awful. It was uneven and visibly botched in several areas. So we paid extra for express service, waited significantly longer than the express timeframe, were charged an additional fee without being contacted first, were told our dog was "difficult," and then got him back with a haircut that we were very unhappy with. When we brought all of this up, neither the groomer or the manager cared. They refused to offer any discount or make the situation right. The groomer Kiarah even told us she was "being nice" by not adding a "difficult dog fee." Honestly, that comment made the situation even more ridiculous. She always wears a mask which makes every interaction feel impersonal and combined with her attitude throughout this experience, it definitely did not leave us with any reason to come back. read more

Do NOT Recommend! I deeply regret bringing my Poochon here. I was very clear about what I wanted. specifically, that I would comb my dog's hair myself and bring him back for a "teddy bear cut." I was told that it wasn't necessary and he would be fine, but when I picked him up, I could barely recognize him. The worst part is that now, my dog is terrified of baths and hides when it's time for grooming. Before this visit, I never had any issues with him being afraid of combing or baths. When I picked him up, he was actually crying and couldn't get out of the grooming salon fast enough. I honestly can't believe this is how things turned out, especially after I was so specific about what I wanted. If you truly care about your pet, I would recommend you go elsewhere where they listen to your requests and treat your pet with care and attention. My dog is now fearful baths & grooming. I'm left with a lot of disappointment, plus the added stress of finding another groomer to undo the damage. I won't be returning and wish I had read the reviews beforehand. read more

Pretty clean Petsmart. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My fiancé recently got a puppy (a big puppy though. He's a husky mix- we aren't entirely sure since he was a rescue). We needed to pick up some essentials that the puppy needed. We grabbed one of those water bowls for him and a harness. The collar and lease were not working since he would pull a lot and get choked. I have been taking my dog to PetSmart in Fountain Valley Ca for 4 years. Our Groomer is David my dog Blue absolutely loves him. I have never met someone who loves animals so much and does an amazing job every single time. I have a long haired German Shepherd and I usually have her groomed every month or every other month depending on how dirty she is. I order the package called Ferminator, it's great for dogs who shed a lot and it really works! If you're not familiar with it, you can pull it up on their website and it will explain everything! This is for the grooming department. I went in there to get information and make an appointment for my dog. As I was waiting, one of the technicians was trimming a dog's nails, grabbing it incorrectly, and being inconsiderate of the animal's anatomy. Animals are not able to fully bend their paws upwards that much! And on top of that, dogs are generally afraid of having their nails cut; therefore, another person should have assisted with that particular task. The dog was screaming and getting hurt in the process. I've owned dogs all my life, and this was a very inconsiderate treatment to the animals. I don't recommend this place. read more

I am leaving this review for Karina in the grooming department! If you have a teacup, toy or miniature puppy I recommend 10/10!! This was Rocky's first grooming at 3 months so i was worried it wouldn't go so great being that he's a toy maltipoo and only 1.98lbs. Karina greeted us and made sure he was comfortable before she took him to the back. She assured me he was in good hands and would call once he was ready. I stood around for a bit just to make sure things were fine, and he was in good hands! Karina was very gentle and made sure Rocky was comfortable throughout the entire time. I love how she interacted with him and was sure to let him know that he was being a good boy. Overall I am satisfied with Rocky's first grooming experience. Just got home from this store after driving 20 mins specifically because this was the only location that had the reptile Arcadia jungle dawn light that I needed. ( it was my first time at this location ) what I think is unbelievable is that I bought the light for regular FULL price and when I got home and opened it up it was in horrible condition.... It's clearly used and it was poorly maintained. I don't care buying used products but for the same exact price as the new ones ? That's unbelievable, since when do stores sell used stuff for the same price as a new product ?? Worst part about it is an employee willingly took it back from someone after inspecting it and thought it was in good condition to put back onto the shelf's... truly disappointed with PetSmart. The people in the store can no longer tell me if the "Potluck of Pouches" cat food is coming in anytime soon. They used to be able to check and let me know. The very nice young lady did say I could order it online. If I'm going to order the food I'll get it from Chewy. I prefer to support brick and mortar stores whenever possible. Do not take your dog here for grooming. $100+ and my dog looks hideous. They shaved him completely and the little hair they left on his face and tail is uneven. The right side of his face is twice as long as the left side. Never again. See the before and after pictures. It's inexcusable. He is a very calm dog--he would not be hard to groom properly. Not only should I get my money back, but they should be giving him treats to make it up to him! I sent photos to all our friends and family who know him and they're all appalled. They said we should make him a sign that said "PetSmart did this" and put it on the sweater he will now have to wear until his fur grows back. It is sad to say that after taking my dog here for grooming the last TEN YEARS, I will no longer be returning. For many of the years that I came here, I have always scheduled an appointment in advance with Cassie and have never had an issue. She's been nothing but amazing to my pet and has always done a fantastic job. It is unfortunate that she got sick so the staff had to reschedule my appointment with another rep, and they ended up cancelling on me 3 more times after that due to staff getting "sick". I get that staff get "sick", but to cancel my appointment another 3 times after the first one, without any regard to my schedule (I live further), and not being able to make any sort of accommodations as we have been coming here to get my pet's haircut faithfully for the last TEN YEARS, is just purely unprofessional and a slap in the face. We have always scheduled our appointments months in advance because we live further and have a jam packed schedule. They did not offer a discount. They did not offer to squeeze my pet in. The lead groomer originally offered to give the whole service for free but then the male manager Jamie called me right after and said "yeah no sorry we can't, but if you want we could still schedule you an appointment" Um what?! After cancelling on me 3 times and having me rearrange my entire schedule 3 times? What kind of service is that? It might have been a blessing in disguise because they were going to put Francine with my dog and I've just read reviews on her mishandling pets and cutting off their body parts. I took my husky for the first time to this location and I got to say I was very pleased. My dog has recently became an anxious dog after her son's passing a few months ago and she gets very vocal and whiny to say the least. Working at a pet store may not be the most glamorous job in the world but the last 3x I've been in the store I really felt the love, contentment, and positive vibes of the staff. I recently adopted a 5 month old puppy which means I have made a few trips to get supplies and to simply work on her socialization in new spaces. The check out lady (3 weeks later) remembered us from the first trip I made with my new pet and even remembered that was the day we adopted. Yes, this store is a bit older but it's large has a great healthy selection of fish and small pets and does offer training classes plus kitty adoptions. I took my dog Charlie to get groomed. The groomer named Karla C did a very very poor job. Took her about 4 and a half hour to groom him. I had my daughter go pick up my dog and gave her a $100 to tip the groomer. So when my dog got home. That's when I saw what a poor job. I paid $116 for the groom plus $100 tip total $216 I spent. Karla does not know how to groom my dog which is a standard poodle. If she doesn't know to to groom proper she should have refer to someone in pet smart that knows to groom. Checked out this location a few days ago. We were shocked by the size of this location. It's bigger than some of the other PetSmarts we have been to AND it's right beside a ton of charging stations for your EV. Our little pug had a fabulous time here. I took my sweet boy Zeus to get a haircut and bath for his birthday and everyone was so kind and patient with him. He is a big hyper golden retriever and they were very good with him. They told me that they sang to him for his birthday and he did great. His groomer was Karina and she did everything I asked her to do for Zeus's haircut and he came out perfect. Also when I go to other places he is usually still damp with his thick coat. Karina made him completely dry. Defiantly will be going again. read more

I got three female mice here! And I am beyond elated! I visited a lot of Petcos and Petsmarts looking specifically for female mice. Most of the Petcos in the area have female mice, but they tend to be feeder mice, white with ruby eyes, with no variation in coat/markings. I specifically wanted multiple female mice with coat/marking variations. Most of the Petsmarts I visited had mice with coats ranging from interesting to beautiful but they were all male. Multiple male mice shouldn't be kept together because they get very territorial; this is the reason why I was specifically seeking female mice. I was told by a cashier at the Tustin Petsmart location that the Foothill Ranch and Fountain Valley locations had female mice. I drove out to Foothill Ranch and while it appeared that they carry female mice, unfortunately, they didn't have any available. Just a few hamsters, most likely because of the current pandemic. This Fountain Valley location had three female mice: one dark brown, almost black, and two both a golden/dark brown. The lady who helped me was super knowledgable and handled them with care, doing what she could to minimize the inevitable trauma and stress of being rehomed. I have gotten hamsters and rats at Petcos before and the people who helped me pick them out grabbed/lunged at them, or picked them up by their tails which was stressful for me to watch and 100% stressful for the rats/hamsters. I was thoroughly impressed with her experience and she definitely knew what she was doing (give her a raise!). I was also told by a cashier at this location that they only allow their rodents to be sold as pets, and only offer frozen feeders. This is evidently a great practice because my babies obviously have been bred to be pets as they have excellent personalities. It's taken less than a week for two of them to feel comfortable enough to hop into my hands. I've had Petco rats that I've never been able to really bond with because of their temperament! I have no doubt in my mind that this Petsmart has sourced these mice from a breeder who did their best to be selective about breeding and to hand-tame them young. If you're looking for feeder mice, Petsmart has frozen feeders and Petco has mass-bred feeders available. If you're looking for thoughtfully bred female mice with great personalities and a wider range of coats/markings, this Petsmart is your best bet. My girls are so sweet and I had an outstandingly excellent experience at this location (give that lady a raise!). Thank you so much! A+++++ read more
