Took my Goldendoodle in for grooming care. She came back with terrible blisters and rashes that took weeks to heal. The vet informed us that they likely were not cleaning their tools in between groomers and not to use them again.

My dog learned so much and I did too!

After 5 weeks of puppy classes I'm so happy. The teacher was wonderful and patient. The staff helped me find the right treats for my puppy.

GIGANTIC puppy welcomes you in!! Grab a basket, and risk being licked to death!!

What a beautiful, modern, and well-organized store! We just moved from the "Tacoma side" over to the "Gig Harbor side" (Port Orchard actually) and have been traveling back to the Tacoma Petsmart location for grooming of our Shih-Tzu and for other doggie needs. This new location, right by the newly-opened Fred Meyer Marketplace in Gig Harbor is way more modern than the one we're used to, with a really nice organization and layout. Great job merchandising this new store. Great addition to the overall Gig Harbor services scene - yes it's a "chain store" and all that. I get that. But having worked with this chain for years, this new location takes it to a new level. SUPER nice and helpful staff as well. Dave

The Gig Harbor Pet Smart groomed our Doodle today. It was his first "hair cut" and they did a great job. He has never looked this good.

I can't believe I haven't written a review yet! Most loving dog owners know how hard it is to find…read morea grooming salon you can truly trust. I found K9 Grooming through Yelp and I'm so glad I did. We drive 30 minutes to get here and I won't lie, the salon is pricey. It usually costs me around $300 with trip for a standard Aussie and mini Aussie regular groom. But it is absolutely worth it. My dogs are my babies. We have a 6-year-old Aussie we've had since he was a puppy, and we recently added our rescue mini Aussie who is now 8. Our rescue has extreme anxiety from her past trauma, including living in a hoarding situation. The team here treats both of our dogs like family. I've never once worried about the way they're cared for. The salon is spotless. Anytime I walk into a grooming place that smells like urine or feces or is chaotic with constant barking, it's an instant red flag for me. K9 Grooming is completely different. It's clean, calm, and you can even watch your dogs being groomed so there's no mystery about how they're treated. Recently our neighbor warned us about fleas in the area, so I called K9 as a concerned pet mom. They were so helpful. They told me they'd start with a regular bath and, if they found any fleas, they'd do the treatment and call us so we could prep the house. Sure enough, they found a few a went forward with the flea bath. They provided me with helpful information and next steps. I sincerely appreciate the level of care, transparency, and customer service the staff provide. I could never take my dogs anywhere else after coming here.

Australian shepherds have very thick double coats, she requires grooming at least every six weeks. From the front desk, all the way back to the groomers they're always so professional, and Mila is always so extremely eager and happy to go there; that says so much. I've had my fair share of very bad grooming experiences, with this very dog. K9 Design Grooming Salon has changed my perspective and Mila's perspective on grooming experiences. We used to live extremely close to the Salon, but we recently bought a house in Olympia and still make the drive! We love K9 Design Grooming!!

We walked in to get our pups weighed and to figure out a rain jacket for our boy Flip Flop. SeKai, a wonderful sales associate came over to help out, especially with the re-hanging of the tried on jackets. Realizing that Flip Flop was acting anxious and asked us if we have ever tried a thunder vest. Ummm nope, thinking do they really work?? SeKai was pretty much no pressure, try it, if you like it get it if you don't no worries. So she helped put it on, and with in seconds my anxious pup is calm. Of course we got it! It's not the vest I am reviewing here of course, what I want to say is what a wonderful environment Mud Bay is, and how employees like SeKai make it that way. Our appreciation soars with the kindness, knowledge, and the love of animals we felt today. Thank you for making a difference in our fur babies life and thank you for taking the time to do so.

Last month she was diagnosed with an aggressive sarcoma (tumor) in her mouth and I went straight to this location for soft food for her and they were helpful and kind and took the time to pet Porsha and listen to her needs and help find solutions. We went back again when I could t get her to take her meds and got some pill pockets and bacon flavored fruit roll ups to hide her pills in. Again, they were so kind and helpful. We are helping our baby cross the rainbow bridge this weekend and we made one last stop to Mud Bay for her last couple of days food and treats and my daughter brought her in and the staff went above and beyond as always. She came home crying, so grateful for their kindness and the love they showed Porsha. I will always recommend this location and this company. Thank you again to the amazing employees and their dedication to their job and our pets.

We took our 7-month-old Dachshund puppy, Chewy, to Soggy Doggy yesterday evening for a nail trim shortly before closing time, and unfortunately, the experience was very upsetting for both our puppy and us. During the nail trim, Chewy yelped multiple times in discomfort, which immediately concerned us. What stood out most to me was that the same nail appeared to be trimmed repeatedly several times, and each time Chewy reacted more anxiously and vocally. As a pet owner, I found it difficult to watch, and it left me feeling uncomfortable about the handling process. I understand that puppies can sometimes be nervous during grooming, and nail trims are not always easy. However, we have previously taken Chewy to other grooming establishments, including Petco and PetSmart, for nail trims and have never experienced this level of distress from him before. I was also surprised that during the nail trim, we were asked questions about Chewy's diet and food choices. While I understand businesses may offer additional services or products, I personally felt that the focus at that moment should have remained on carefully completing the nail trim and ensuring our puppy was comfortable and calm. At the end of the appointment, Chewy also left with a noticeable hangnail. We declined the nail buffing add-on service, but even so, I did not expect his nails to be left in that condition after the trim. Overall, this experience left us questioning the level of handling, training, and attention to pet comfort during grooming services. As pet owners, we trust groomers and staff with the safety and well-being of our animals, and unfortunately, this visit did not leave us feeling confident. Because of this experience, we will not be returning with Chewy in the future. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as gentle handling, professionalism, and pet comfort are extremely important, especially with young puppies who are still learning to trust grooming experiences.

I am frankly surprised by a few bad reviews, (everyone has their own experience) but in my book she is great. When she owned the business on the street, of course she would have to start charging for no shows, late arrivals and pick up. I found if I called ahead and let her know something happened, then she was most understanding, But I never abused that. It is a business, and she was usually booked solid, so that is lost revenue for lost time. I usually got charged for some matting, even if I thought it wasn't bad, it still is time. My Diego always came out looking smart and handsome.
